Useful for so many things. I was so glad to find this app. I struggle with working out because I don’t like to count things, but with this app, I can just set the timer and have it tell me how much to do. I often set it so that there are beeps every second, and then I just figure out how many seconds I should be using to complete each movement. so the leg lift will take two seconds up and two seconds down and I need to do 10 of them, I just set the timer for 40 seconds, plus a few seconds of buffer to transition into the position. I also like to use it for speaking. If I need to talk for 15 minutes, I will set it for three intervals of five, and then I can name each interval what I need to be talking about in each of those five minutes.

Very Flexible, but Hijacks Apple Fitness. Have always liked this timer, starting with free version and eventually buying. It is very customizable, with sounds, colors, different kinds of workouts, etc. You can sync your intervals from the iphone to the Apple Watch (not vice versa), and you get great functionality on the watch, if you just run Seconds on the Watch as your sole workout app. HOWEVER, if you run Seconds on the Watch, your normal Apple Watch Fitness/Activity app will not run (or will stop running). Seconds will write your heart rate to the Health app, but nothing else, and your Seconds workout will not help complete any Fitness rings, record calories in Fitness, etc. So basically, you give up the Fitness Watch app when using Seconds on your Watch. So I run Seconds on the phone, and Fitness on the Watch, but that undermines what I thought would be a huge benefit of having Seconds on the Watch (e.g., I wouldn’t have to take my phone on a run). So honestly, I was pretty disappointed that I paid for Seconds and it couldn’t work on the Watch with Fitness (or alternatively, write the same data TO Fitness that I would get with Fitness).

Most flexible exercise timer app by far.. I've tried a whole lot of timer apps for directing me through my exercise routines so that I don't have to look at a list or remember the order. This timer is the only one I've found that not only can speak the interval names, but also lets you define rest times, number of repetitions of an interval, and marking an interval as split left/right for when you do the same pose or exercise on each side! I like how the interface is so simple, yet you can use it to build almost any kind of routine. It could be useful for other kinds of guided routines as well; it's designed for exercise, but I could also use it as a task/break timer, for example. Very handy app and well designed.

Does exactly what I need it to do. The functionality and design of this app works so well for me. I love that I have so many options for timers and I can customize them in just about any way that I can think of. I mix in two brand new HIIT work outs every week that I've never tried before - all of which require a timer. There is nothing worse than timing yourself while doing a new workout and having to fiddle with a regular timer or try to watch the clock. Instead, I use seconds to time my entire workout without having to do anything else. Big bonus is that the sounds of the app don't throw off your music 👌🏻

Excellent app- Needs tweaking. I use this app several times a week and it is worth the upgrade! You can customize just about everything and the display is nice and large, especially if you put your phone in the horizontal position. You can have beeps and alarms for the different periods in your workout including midway beeps. The sounds of the beeps and alarms can also be customized. This is where it needs tweaking. I like having a beep to alert me to the next stage but I wish it wouldn’t lower the volume of my audiobook for a couple of seconds during and around the beep. Adjusting the volume of the beeps would also be helpful. On the upside, there are numerous sounds to choose from, even different meditation style gongs are possible. In general, I love this app!!!

RECENT UPDATE CAUSES APP TO CRASH. I’ve had the Pro version of this app for over a year and has been working fine, but after a recent update, the app now crashes several times within a single workout. It usually lowers the volume of your background music when counting down between reps, but now the volume does not come back up sometimes, once it has been lowered. Also, sometimes it will not even beep to let you know that a rep is starting/finishing. This problem has only been present over the last couple of months since the recent update, but the developers have yet to resolve the issue. And based on other reviews I’ve read, I’m not the only one experiencing this problem. I even tried using their new Beta version to see if it would resolve the problems, but after a few uses started running into the exact same issue. The developers don’t seem like they will be resolving this issue anytime soon, so I suggest looking for a different product.

Good… could be better. So far I REALLY love how easy this app is to create and share new timers for my classes. I took away ONE star because I would LIVE to see the following in the coming updates: 1) Please create a way to sync the timer on the app to my Apple Watch. It would be amazing to start my timer on my phone and have the watch app start at the same time. Ideally I could keep my phone open to reference exercises etc, but still feel the haptics from my watch for timing changes. 2) …and this might exist, but I can’t find where to do it… allow users to change the time for the COUNT DOWN HAPTICS! As it stands, it is a three second count. Myself personally, I like to give my class a three second count but by the time my brain registers the haptics, I’ve missed the mark. With those changes, this app would be 5 stars in my book!

This app makes the “workout” app crash or just not work. I want to use this app to time my HIT workouts but I also want to record my workout through the “Workout” app on the watch—-but after I finish my workout using the Seconds app, and then hit done, it gives me an error—-something about giving the app access in settings—-the error gives me the option to discard or dismiss. But only hitting Discard takes me out of the Seconds app. While my rings close, it does it not record the workout. I tried activating both the Seconds app and the Workout app at the same time, but after my workout the Workout app someone closed itself and did not record the workout. I’ve tried going online to see how I can “granted it access” and I’ve look everyone on the phone trying to figure it out, with no success. Can someone help please.

Best Interval Timer. The only reason I'm giving this app four stars is due to the wonky integration with Apple Watch. Everything else about this app is easily worth the price of admission. It's one of the only timers that uses built-in voice prompts so you don't have to look at your phone or even remember what the next workout is. It also allows for many custom workouts to be inputted - so I can easily just tap on my daily workout and get going without having to set up a new timer every morning or evening like other apps. While Seconds does integrate with Apple Health I've never fully been able to get it to pull data from my Apple Watch. That's not a deal breaker but I consider myself reasonably tech savvy so it's a little baffling the integration isn't easier to pull off. Other than that this is the only app I'll recommend to anyone looking for HIIT or Tabata timers, hands down.

Easy to use, wish it wasn’t so hard to switch between this app and another app. Love the color coding, easy to set up, exactly what I was looking for with interval timing! My only complaints are: -it is hard to switch between this app and any other app for iPhones (versions without the circle home button). It always takes me like 5 tries to get the app to register that I’m trying to swipe between apps. It can be annoying if you’re trying to do something fast between workout sets. -my other complaint is the automatic volume adjustment. I’m usually listening to a podcast and using this app and it automatically lowers the volume of my podcast when I start the timer, making me have to stop my workout and adjust it.

Lady does count at same speed as the actual clock, rude CS. I wrote to CS because the timer countdown voice stopped syncing with the actual app timer. Also, the voice stops counting down if I get a text or anything else happens on my phone. I wrote to the tech support person, Daniel, who said he would fix it on the next update. Then the bot closed the ticket and said I didn’t respond in time. I wrote back because I didn’t think there was anything to respond to and asked if the fix was happening with the next update even though the ticket got closed. Daniel then gives me attitude and says he doesn’t have time to fix every little thing that someone complains about. The tech support guy says this. Maybe he’s the developer of the app? IDK but he was a total jerk after saying he was going to fix the problem.

Great for repeated short workouts. I have been using this app for over a year. I started with the free version to be able to set up run walk intervals that my running partners could hear. The free version was fine for a simple interval that I didn't mind setting up each time. I now use the paid version for more interval strength workouts. In the training plan I am using, each week we have a new short strength workout with 4 exercises that I need to do for a minute each. I can program these in using the voice prompt to remind me of what is coming up next. Now that I am going through the plan for a second time, I even have all of these workouts already set up and ready to go. I even set up a prompt at the beginning and end reminding me to start and stop my Garmin recording! It even works when I am listening to podcasts or music while doing the workout. It has been well worth the small investment!

Does a great job. Overal I am very happy with this app. It is a nice, simple interval timer, I have used it to make workouts for running, strength training, and others. It is a one time fee, as opposed to a monthly fee like the others, seriously being able to actually own an app for once is nice! Customizing each move is nice, and you have helpful options such as splitting the move for each side (such as lunging on the right then on the left) and having a break in between each side. I also love the different options for signaling the next move, although to me they are all kind of annoying except for the single beep. But you can have it tell you what move it is with an ai voice if you want. It is a little hard to figure out at first. You can’t add a move in in between two others, you can only copy and paste. So I just have to copy something and paste it in and edit it to what I want it to say. Also if you just hit paste , it goes to the bottom. If you want it after a certain move, you have to long press it then paste. It copies whatever is selected, so if you forget to unselect something, it pastes it too. The thing I really would like to have changed though, is the ability to change multiple things at once. I would love it if I could select several moves and change the color for all of them, or the time for all, instead of one at a time. Other than that, I think this app is fine, just takes some practice.

You’re Missing-out. If you are not already using this one-of-a-kind app you’re missing-out. Go ahead and try the others. I’m serious when I SHOUT there are no others that compare. I’ve been in the fitness and health arena for nearly 11-Years and I’ve tried them all. Stationed here in Singapore (California-native) this is my go-to tool. The best thing s about ‘Seconds’ are: (1) the incredible intuitive voice prompts; (2) the music sync and external-play options; (3) the customisable+template choices and (4) the creators dogged follow-up on updates and bug-fixes. You just don’t get a company (and I believe it’s a two person team😃) to care this much. BOOM baby!!!

Seconds app review. I’m big into jumping rope & I needed an app that I could plug in custom workouts into. I was using the Crossrope app but you can’t make custom workouts on it yet. Seconds does it all. Easy to use & read, clean interface with lots of cool custom color options. No lag loading time like some other apps. Being able to add any of your music to your interval workouts was a game changer for me. You can even have a different song for every interval and rest periods if you like. It’s super cool. It’s also fun making new workouts and building a collection in your folder to challenge yourself to dig deeper! Definitely worth the $4.99 price tag. Great work Seconds app developers. I’m a huge fan.

Love that it’s not a subscription!. Mostly i just love that this app lets me basically do whatever i want with it. I can easily create my own routine. But the five star rating is because I really love that they allow you to purchase the app for a one-time fee (which is actually very affordable). I basically rule out any app that is a subscription because if i like the app then i can’t imagine paying a subscription for it indefinitely. I like to have a simple app that i can own forever. I really hope they don’t take away the ability to purchase the app for a one time fee. Like i said, i genuinely stay away from subscriptions. I have shared this app with multiple people who have also purchased it because they loved that it was a one-time fee. Im also more willing to take a chance and pay a one-time fee on an app that i possibly wont use, than to sign up for a subscription based app. If i was being super critical i might deduct a star because i don’t know why it doesn’t show my heart rate in the timer when i use it on my apple watch. The heart rate portion just shows “N/A”. Maybe my apple watch is old or something? I can’t figure it out. But i didn’t actually deduct a star because if i cared enough then i could try and contact the company for help, but i haven’t felt like it so that’s sorta on me. All things considered, it’s a great app and i always suggest it to people who are looking for something like it!!

Overall good, but some quirks.. This is a pretty decent app, especially for the price. Offers a lot of options to customize timers. The main quirk I have found is that if you link it with Apple Health, EACH exercise in a timer will be input as 1 workout. So, if I have a circuit with 6 exercises in 3 sets, I’ll end up with 18 different workouts! That kinda messes up other apps I use to track heart rate zones & other stats, including Apple Health. And to make it worse, you MUST unable the Health app link to use the Watch app because it needs a workout session to stay active in the background on the watch. So.. needless to say, I only use this as a timer on the phone (which is sometimes a pain during a session) and have to use another app to actually track the workout :(

Great app, good price and a developer that responds!. I use this for a water aerobics class and have found it perfect. I can program in each exercise and time and the app clearly says the name of the exercise. This frees me up to do the workout Instead of telling them what is next. Definitely worth the money to buy so you can develop different routines and not reenter each time. There are so many options to play with on each workout. Only negative is that it doesn’t sync to Different devices yet, the developer was very responsive to answering my questions. You can add it to another device following video direction .( I haven’t done it yet)

Excellent timer app. This is an excellent app for anyone who does high intensity interval training during their workouts. Almost every aspect of a timer is customizable. Definitely worth the price to buy a pro license. My only two gripes are that timer beeps can't be selected separately for each part of a timer. You can only set a beep pattern for the timer as a whole. That makes it impossible to know what part of a routine you're on without looking at the phone, which can be distracting. Also, the option to disable music volume "ducking" within the timer settings doesn't work. The volume goes down with every beep pattern except the single long beep, even when it's switched off. Hopefully the devs will fix that soon, but until then, you can achieve the same result by going into the app settings menu and changing the ducking volume slider to full. A wider selection of beep styles would be a plus, but the existing choices get the job done. If none of those issues seem important to you, then chances are, you'll love this app.

Quality feel. After my first try, I’m pretty happy with this app. The minimal but colorful designs and the animated transitions between the different timers give it a feeling of high quality. Editing workouts is a little repetitive, but that’s true of every interval training app I’ve tried. I’d like the timing of the voice cues to be a little earlier - if it said the name of the next exercise, then “3...2...1...” that would be more useful than 3...2...1... and then the name of the exercise, which doesn’t give you time to set your starting position. On a similar note, an option for a slight delay when you’re doing an exercise split between left and right sides would help with exercises like side planks, where changing sides takes time. I appreciate that the app can be downloaded free and tried once before asking you to spring for the paid version.

Literally the best trainer and training tool I’ve ever had. I cannot give this app more stars. It is so highly functional and just playing around with it gives you everything you need. Being able to hold yourself accountable with a bell and a timer, and then being able to customize, those workouts is such an invaluable voice to have in your head Now that you can publish and share premade, and pre-loaded workouts, you can literally be in your clients ear every 30 to 45 seconds, coaching and guiding them on what to do and when to do it while not even being in the same country

Super Versatile!. Amazing app! Extremely versatile. I had this one complex circuit, and I was like, “how am I gonna be able to do this with this app”. I was thinking it’d be long and tedious and not even perfectly correct. I thought I was right, but then I discovered the compound timer and the ability to copy and past exercises!!! Just when I thought I’d reached the limit with this app, I discovered an awesome functionality that makes things sooo much easier. It’s such a cheap price to get the whole thing unlocked considering how amazingly versatile and easy to use this app is. Sooooo worth it. The only little issue I have with it is that sometimes the timer sound glitches. So for example, like sometimes when the time for rest is down to just 3 secs, it does the 3 second countdown (which is great cause it acts as a warning and gets you ready), but sometimes it’ll start glitching out so there might be one beep then no more until the times up then you get one irky prolonged beep. It’s just a minor issue that only happens sometimes with me, but it just throws me off a little in my workout. Of course, that’s just me. Other than that, Amazing app!!!! Totally recommend!

Finally, someone developed what I’ve been looking for!. First off, I don’t write a review unless something really blows my skirt up. This app did that. This app has what I’ve been looking for, which is an app that lets me custom design interval training with rest that is simple to use and simple to track on my Apple Watch. Nike+ didn’t have it, Couch to 5K didn’t have it and the Apple fitness app didn’t have it. This app has it. You can create your own work out. You can cut, copy, and paste so you can duplicate a work out with changes. I created a running/jogging program with a warm-up and cooldown, as well as running and rest periods all in the program. All I have to do is click start. Genius.

Excellent Workout Program. I tried Seconds for a couple of workouts before I bought. I do crossfit type of workouts in a gym class, but I needed something to keep me moving at a pressured, cardio pace when out of town. I found my old workouts saved when I bought the app, and I was able to modify and copy them. I also made myself an 11-minute warmup routine and a 14-minute stretching routine for cool-down. I've used it 3 times this week while on vacation, and it has worked as planned. A decent value for my needs. UPDATE: Still using this app occasionally 9 months out from buying it, and I still think it's excellent. Glad I bought it.

Worth every penny for pro upgrade. This is an awesome interval app. So many features that may overwhelm you initially, but there’s a well laid out manual in the app. With a little bit of time and patience you’ll create custom intervals and alerts and tabata workouts. Now he’s even included a stopwatch feature! if interested, he’s even got a workout app called Heavyset that is also quality work for if you’re interested in logging your workouts. I know he just implemented the stopwatch, but in the future it would be awesome to be able to save and log my lap times to track my progress (like in his heavyset app). I understand its not really the focus of this app, this is more of an hiit app, but I envious a track and field or swimming focused app where you can keep track of how your mile splits and lap splits improve over time. Would be an invaluable tool for coaches as well. I would buy it in a heartbeat from this dev.

Doesn’t work anymore. I used to love this app. It was the only one I could find where I could created a specific name and time for each interval in a set and audibly spoke the name for each exercise when it started. It also gave a 3 second warning beep at the end of each interval to let you know you only had 3 more seconds in that interval. All of a sudden after several years of reliably working it has stopped! It doesn’t audibly say the name of the interval anyone and it doesn’t give the 3 second warning to let you know the interval is ending. Without those features nothing else significantly sets this app apart from all the other interval timers out there. Customer support wasn’t very helpful in fixing the problem as it’s still not fixed and they gave no ideas as to what might be wrong with the app. There are also other reviews of people complaining that the app all of a sudden stopped working and stopped giving audible warnings at the end of each interval.

Makes workouts far easier and more fun!. This is the first app of this kind that I’m using. I choose this based on all of the great reviews. I love that you can customize your workout in any way including setting a half-way mark and listening to whatever music you want. Going from one exercise to the next I do find it helpful to change songs as it resets your mind to a new vibe for that one challenge that you’re currently on. I only wish there was a button to give you a 10, 20, or 30-second break between exercises to re-set for the next challenge. But that’s easy enough to do on your own by just adding a customized length in between exercises so you can re-set your position before starting the next one.

Used it for years and still love it (updated Nov 2023). Everything stated below still stands! But now, it’s been almost 10 years since I purchased Seconds. I still use the timers for my indoor trainer as well as for my walk/run interval runs outdoors. I tweak the alert sounds and the actual intervals now and then and all the functionality is straight forward and intuitive. I just love it - still!! Years ago when I was teaching a studio cycling class, I needed an interval timer so I could practice on my own. I tested at least 10 apps and this one was user friendly and easily programmable. The nominal fee put me off for a couple of days but in the end, I bought it and have never regretted it.

The only timer you need. I've had dozens of timers on my phone over the years. But this is the only one that has the power, flexibility and simplicity to have earned and kept it's position on my phone's landing screen. Seconds has dozens of features that I now have taken for granted and wonder why no one else has all of 'em. Eg create folders for all your different timers for easy context and access (workout timers vs cooking timers vs boardgame timers etc). Fully flexible speech so that you can be easily prompted what's next in a sequence. And talking of sequences you can easily set up loops of time to repeat (eg Sprint/rest - do this 10 times) without having to enter it all manually. If you really want to get creative you can set a timer within a timer within a timer etc for nested loops (I actually need this for one application). But you can quickly do something as readily as set a 3 minute timer for brewing coffee. Creativity allows easy color coding. Pragmatism shows with large easy to read displays that can be stopped/started/reset/repeated with easy pushes - nothing fiddly. Support from the developer is amazing (as is his other app, Heavyset). All in all - this app does amazingly in a world in which literally hundreds of other apps simply fall short. Invaluable.

Great app, minor flaw. This app is great to use for solo training. HUGE help in keeping me going and timing each exercise as well as each rest period. Especially appreciate the voice prompts at the half way and end for each exercise. It has one minor flaw that I hope sees a fix in the near future. While I can cut, copy and paste timers from one folder to another, I can't rename a folder once created. It seems like a little thing, but everything else can be edited, so it would seem good to be able to edit folder names as well in the 'organize' mode by holding down on the item. (The workaround is to create a new folder with the correct name on it, then copy the contents from one to another and delete the original)

Game changer. This app has changed my life as an instructor and coach. I use it when I am teaching my classes and coaching at OTF. Before this I spent a lot of time fumbling with and often messing up my stopwatch timer. It’s awesome that I can sync it to my Apple Watch. The only thing that would make it better would be if my Apple Watch stayed lit up the whole time the app was running instead of having to it in between intervals. Also, it would be great if it could run concurrently on my phone and watch at the same time. But these two things do not in any way distract from the incredible value, this app offers me. It has removed this most stressful element out of my job. Thank you!

Great, one suggestion. I love this app! It’s pleasant to look at and is very versatile with a lot of options to engage in almost any kind of workout you can think of. It’s also cheap to upgrade to the keep-your-timers version. I would make one, suggestion, though: that we can manually decide the order of our timers. Mine go by each day of the week and I’d prefer to have them in order. It would be more pleasing to see, easier to navigate, and go with the color scheme I made to better organize my thoughts for my workouts. I can’t get them into the right order using the already given organizing categories. Anyway, that’s really all I would change about it! If you’re looking for a reliable, easy to use, flexible and useful app for your workouts, this is the right app for you!

FANTASTIC App!!. This app is truly excellent. It’s well-designed, not overly complicated, and does exactly what I need it to do, every time. You can create your own intervals for HIIT training, or whatever you need them for. You can set the custom duration of the interval, as well as set its attributes (such as name/label, color, voice, haptic etc.). They also give you lots of presets, which work great. This app is exactly what I was looking for, as I have the option of hearing voice feedback using my AirPods, or alternatively sometimes I use it with just my Apple Watch, and feel only the haptic feedback (vibrations on my wrist), making it possible to use it in silence. 10/10 app, thank you!!

ADHD approved!. As long as you find a good rhythm in your timed activity schedules (the timers that you make in this app), this app is great for helping people who have ADHD. It is soooooooo great because it displays the current activity on your full screen(so whenever you forget what you were supposed to be doing, you can look to your phone and it will tell you), it can play different sounds while you work (I like to use a ticking clock or classical music to calm me down), can be used for ANY activities you’d like, and has so so much customizability! You can have breaks in between your activity sessions that give your brain a break and still don’t count towards your total time worked on the activity. Also, you can use the app as a stop-watch kind of free-form timer: Press the next activity for when you feel that you want a break from the one you’re on and select “Allow-Overrun” for letting your sessions run until you’re done with your task. Love it! I just wish I had the mind to use it for more stuff😅

Crappy tactics. This app could have been useful. You can customize timers to suit your specific needs but you can only use each timer once before you’re prompted to to pay $5 to use it again. You can’t even reuse the preset timers that come with the app without the same issue. So there’s really no point in putting in the effort to use the custom feature or try to use the presets. The developers are sure to let you know about this limitation but they burry the warning on the third page of information you have to click through the first time you open the app and in the second paragraph of the app description, which the user is actively required to open in order to see. The free version is basically useless. So why not just list the app as $5 to begin with? Because fewer people are likely to download a $5 app. I might have been interested in using the paid version but I think this is a pretty crappy business tactic, so I’ll take business elsewhere.

I didn’t realize a timer could change my life. This app is simply superb. You’d think an interval timer would be easy to program; evidently not judging from the number of terrible ones on the app store. First great thing about Seconds is that there is no subscription; it just costs a flat $5 to unlock premium. Second the user interface is perfect and flexible. Third, the Apple Watch integration is great and importantly the Apple Watch app is a standalone app that works without your phone. Since buying seconds I have created numerous diverse workouts. I am exercising more and having more fine with exercise. Great app! The only feature I’d love to see is a way to change intervals based on your heart rate, so you could automatically cycle a cardio workout between intense (eg 160bpm) and easy (eg 110bpm)

Superb. Exactly what I needed. The app speaking out the next exercise is helpful so I don’t have to look at the phone while working out. It takes awhile to program my workouts. A one touch button to program a rest or transition would be nice. My workouts have rounds of circuits, so it would be nice if I could copy/paste the circuit so I don’t have to reprogram all the individual exercises and breaks a second or third time Maybe this functionality already exists but I haven’t seen it yet. I’d also like a version of workouts that work on reps rather than time. I could simply press a button to proceed to the next exercise or set.

Instead of upgrading from free app, do this. For apple users: if you want to be able to share the app with family, do this: don’t upgrade the app in response to the ads. You won’t be able to do family sharing if you upgrade because apple sharing is not available for “in-app purchases”. Instead, purchase the Seconds Pro interval timer from the App Store. That way, the app can be shared with your family. This is a great app, as many others have described in great detail in prior reviews. I won’t repeat the great features here, read the other reviews. I do a variety of circuit training and HIIT workouts and enjoy making up my own routines. The timer has helped me keep on time, which made my workouts more intense and efficient. I am very happy with this app and would buy it again. As it turns out I will buy it again since I can’t family share the upgrade. My daughter and husband both want the timer.

Just buy the full version. This app comes alive with the full version. If you are just getting into fitness, you’ll be more likely to stick with it if you pay for it. I was skeptical about paying this much for the full version but after a week of use I know it was worth it. I used to always have to fiddle with my phone in the middle of a set, mentally taking my focus off of what I was doing. This app solves that. It is the best one I’ve tried thus far for two reasons: 1. READABILITY- the screen is super easy to see and read at a glance while working out. The color backgrounds are completely customizable so you don’t even need to read. You can also have the app announce which circuit you’re starting. 2. COMPLETELY CUSTOMIZABLE- there are ENDLESS options. Like soooo many. Use them, or don’t, but I have never seen this many options.

Works as intended, could use upgrades. I love this app! It’s mandatory to use for some of the fitness classes I teach but I honestly use it even when it’s not required just because it makes the flow of exercises so easy to manage. My biggest wish is that the app could sync between my iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch so I don’t have to always download the most recent cloud back-up for each device to keep my timers consistent. Like, sometimes I’ll create a timer on my phone but to get it to my iPad, I either need to publish it then download it from my iPad, or go into my SecondsPro settings from my iPad and download the most recent “iPhone backup” (which means having to re-download every timer that’s on my iPhone each time).

The best APP!. I rarely review apps but this one deserves the time to review. I have tried various workout apps. The best feature for me is designing your own routine and ease of editing and arranging the workouts. Importing workouts that others have used to create routines was great. Now for the #1 feature I like about this app, it announces each work out (if you set that) for me, not having to look at an animation or follow a person on video is best. Just all the exercise and lets me know when the next one is coming up. And you can add music to your workout bu tI tend to change my playlist so I keep that separate. I guess if you need to watch it being done then this is not for you. I recently started jumping rope and see they use a similar timer style in that app which I find is great. No counting reps just do it as many times in that amount of time.

Helps my workouts. Easy to customize for any workout. I use it for boxing rounds and the built in “boxing” audio adds a warning 3 seconds before the start of a round and 10 seconds before a round ends. // I would like a sound added to the “boxing” audio for the “half way” alert. // I also make each round a different color so I can look at my phone from across the room and know where I am in my workout without having to see the numbers (my sight is blurry when my glasses are off). This is also great because I want to do different rounds at different intensity levels so I color the rounds based on my HR zones. I’m happy I bought the full version so I didn’t have to keep recreating timers.

No more wasted minutes mid-workout. I absolutely love this app. I started with the free version but I am SO happy I bought the full version. I do circuit training and HIIT running and this has completely streamlined and optimized my workouts. My favorite feature is the text to speech function. No more looking at my phone fifty times during a workout to remind myself what exercise is next. That means minutes more of focused work out and high heart rate. I have also built out a bunch of saved circuits so when I go to the gym, I just press go and workout for forty minutes without ever having to look at my phone. Great app, 100% satisfied.

Been using it for years!. Certified Personal Trainer here. I’ve been using this app (and the versions it has been) for years. I use it for teaching circuit classes, for HIIT and LIIT training sessions, and for my own personal workouts. I love how customizable it is. I can plan and develop a workout for each client/ class before hand and can bang out a workday without shuffling through notes. It takes my eyes off the stop watch and keeps them on form, intensity, and safety. I always recommend it to new instructors and trainers. And by the time it comes to doing my own workouts, I no longer want to “think” with this app, I can just do and zone out with my own body.

Wow 🤩 This thing helps my lack of time awareness infinitely!. What an amazing tool to stay on track! The ability to have the voice read text is HUGE for me. I find that I feel so much better adding ovarian breathing during the rest periods of my hiit workouts but cannot for the life of me remember to do it😖. Now, I can just add the reminder to the name of the task and she reads it out to me! Amazing! I also, put my whole morning routine into it with all the reminders I need like taking vitamins, etc., and Shazam! My morning playlist plays while she walks me through the whole thing. If anyone is struggling with their brain going in too many directions at once, this is the solution for regaining focus, for sure!!! Thanks for creating a wonderful app!

Worth the money!. I never write reviews on apps.. And here I am, writing one. Not only that, but I decided to write this the day after first using it. This app is fantastic. I decided to take up jumping rope. I found a solid workout online where you have a four set warm-up, alternating between three exercises.. Followed by an eight set workout, alternating between different exercises. Sound confusing?? So I write it all down on paper.... Annoying, but whatever. Then I realize that I need to search for an interval timer because I don't have a clock in my jump rope space. I didn't want to use my phone stopwatch because I wanted it to be easy to listen to music. I'm sure that doing all of that would have been possible, although pretty inconvenient. When the whole circumstance to starting my workout is too complicated, that's the best way to make me quit. I'm lazy. So I spent ten minutes, setting up my customized interval workout for my new jump rope routine - pairing each type of exercise with a new song. And now I get to save this timer, along with any workout I challenge myself with in the future. What easier way to keep my workouts interesting and challenging!! In short, Seconds is likely going to lead to a fitter version of myself. Thank you for making it!

Easy there, learn some UX. I took a look at one of the sample intervals, returned to the menu to look at another, went back to the first, and was hit by an inescapable “now you will upgrade for $4.99” screen that I had to hard-quit the app to escape. I didn’t upgrade because I was literally lying in bed while taking my first look around the app, and wasn’t sure that the interval sounds were going to be loud enough to work with my music. In other words, the trial period needs to be a little more reasonable so we can actually *try* the app. (Yes, I saw the “free trial” note before I started. Know what else I saw? Lots and lots of other HIIT apps in the store.) If all had worked out, I would have upgraded, but now I’m back here in the store looking for an alternative. Good luck, and don’t forget to test your app with real users and learn about how and when they will engage with it.

Indispensable. The only reason I wasn’t using this app all the time was that I didn’t understand how powerful it is. Your own creativity is the limit. I made a complete exercise routine followed by a meditation routine all with text to speech prompts. I’ve never found it so easy to stick to a daily habit. Also, the support is world class, which is pretty unusual and should help anybody who is on the fence about spending five bucks on an app (I did the in-app purchase, but the Pro version offers family sharing for the same price). Only criticisms are: 1. The app seems to mess up my ringer volume when it’s open in the background. 2. A more streamlined iCloud sync of timers between devices would be welcome.

Great app. I love this app. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the voices are extremely low and hard to hear. Even with the ducking and inputting the music into the timer and keeping the volume all the way down, it’s very low and hard to hear. Usually the only way we know is because the change in music. I just wish it was a little louder. I am a fitness instructor and teach Tabata and interval classes where we need to be able to hear it over all the chaos. But I do love all of the options and being able to create compound timers. The options within the timers are endless. I have so many saved timers for several different types of workouts from running, cycling, Tabata, cardio and strength intervals, and much more.

Very useful for particular needs!. I couldn't find any other app that does what this does. Create a series of linked timers with text/color labels that will play automatically and sequentially to help manage tasks. I have used it to plan out an entire day of timed presentations at conferences where each segment must adhere to a strict schedule, with a predetermined gap between presentations. I have a workout routine that I have set up with timed segments and color coded similar segments such as all rest periods are green. I'm using to time segments for a physical therapy regimen, including pauses. Color coding and so forth. Once you create a timer you can edit every aspect of it including cut/paste functionality or dragging to reorder. Great app!

Excellent fitness app. Really easy to use, has a lot of functions, super customisable, and has 100% been essential to my fitness journey! Highly recommend and hope they keep up the great work.

Easy to use, good custom timer. I love this app it’s easy to use and has a text to speech option that lets me know what activity is coming up next and gives a 3-2-1 count in. Only frustrating thing is that when you choose to have audio playing (ie music) the warnings are often drowned out by the music and you can’t adjust the two volumes independently. Hoping the next iteration will allow Pro users to send workouts to other Pro users. Save my entire training team having to enter it in each separately.

Fantastic App. I love this app! I use it at netball training for our warm up. I have it through a speaker with all instructions so I can walk around and make sure players are using the right technique. Highly recommended!

Perfect!. This app is perfect! I’ve been using it for over 4 years and it has always been adaptable to whatever my evolving workout regime is. Boxing / MMA timer, or HIIT / tabata, or standard basic time counter which is great depending on my day. The best part is that you can create a custom compound timer and mix any of the timing options into 1 large timing session.

Great but doesnt work sometimes. It is a great app but it sometimes doesnt work. Meaning it doesnt give me that beep sound when the screen is off. Sometimes i need to unplug my earbud and plug it back in then it works for some times, But if that doesnt work then I will have to reboot my phone for it to work. Hope the developers solve this problem in a soon time.

Super flexible if a little complex. Overall the app does everything thing I need it to do and I have been able to program pretty any time, period based workout I have needed to. I really like the left/right feature that splits an interval automatically for you. I do still find however that manner with which you create the timers is a little overly complex with too many options. It feels like the app kind of grew without a lot of real user/new user feedback. A great feature I have used before is to allow a delay when the user manually moves to the next interval e.g. I press the interval then it gives me 2 - 5 seconds before it starts to myself sorted. As I said though overall a great app that you can time pretty much anything with.

Great fitness timer app. You can set music for each set of exercises, with rests in between. A really good app. BUT there does not appear to be anywhere to contact the developers and also, there should be a button to press to send on to your friends for them to use it too. Weird. Ozdreamer

Great App with plenty of flexibility. Make almost any combination of circuit or HIIT sessions you can think of I’m even using it to soft boil my eggs and time my tanning sessions 😂 don’t want to get burnt or eat a hard boiled egg Support is on the ball too, very fast response by a dedicated developer/team

Love seconds. This app is so good it makes making up workouts so simple and I can just go back and use them over and over I wouldn’t workout the same with out being able to structure my workouts with this great timer app ❤️

Great App but.... Great app but please adjust the Apple Watch app so it’s not so easy to press the “discard” button after a workout, maybe require the user to scroll down for that option? I’ve accidentally discarded 2 workouts now so they aren’t logged, my only annoyance from an otherwise great app!

Disappointing Update. I’ve been using Seconds for a few years and was always really happy with the features available in the free version. Pretty disappointed that nearly every reasonable feature is now only available through the paid version after the latest update. I would be willing to pay however $15 for an app is a bit rich for me. I’ll be looking for another product

Excellent. Have been using this app for nearly 2 years and I LOVE it! I've been able to share workouts with others as well as create my own. Wherever my phone is I can work out. It's been on holidays overseas when I can't get to a gym and great when it's raining or too cold/dark outside. Very easy to use. Highly recommended!!

Awesome. The large colourful timer is great while working out, and the voice and music activation works perfectly if you’re a headphone wearer. Plus the full version allows to mix and match a bunch of different workouts. Best $8 you’ll spend

Get App for Tempo Training. I have been using this app for tempo training, this would be great to have as an extra functionality within the app. Enjoy using this every workout, makes me accountable and sticking to my routine/timer

Best timer app ever!. I use this app almost daily and its the best by far. Yr allows me to have as many customized workouts as i want. Makes makes for fun and interesting workouts that suit my exact needs 🙏🏆

Great tools for HIIT martial arts. Immediately buy the full the version. Don’t mess around with the frustrating free one. Workouts and rounds timers are set and you tweak them as needed. Works well with AirPods and chimes in over the top of you musics or podcasts while working out. Mandatory piece of my kit.

Amazing app. The app is highly adjustable for the low cost. I tend not to use it as much as I would like to because it’s too customisable. It would be amazing if there were some simple timers for CrossFit/HIIT e.g EMOM or AMRAP and you just enter the amount of minutes you want and it just counts you in and beeps on the minute. You can do something like this for yourself but it’s not straight forward.

Not behd!. Great so far. A few small issues when screen mirroring to my tv. Sometimes it doesn’t update colours but overall I’m happy with it. How do you import workouts that you export to friends???

Simple but flexible. I've tried a number of similar apps and this is the best overall. It has a simple design but still has a lot of flexibility, allowing you to create what you need for your workout.

Excellent timer!. Excellent timer! Very flexible, with a range of timer selections to suit any workout need. Also love the compound timer feature, which allows you to create different types of timers within one workout. Overall, an excellent timer.

Functional Simplicity. Never used an app more nor thought about it less, because it just works. It’s works precisely the way I’d intended it to work. Highly functional, beautifully simple. This app is great.

Workout anywhere, anytime!. Have been using this app for a few years now as it's super convenient and reliable. Offers a range of different styles (HIIT, circuit, tabata, rounds, etc) and allows you to save your own workout if you have premium which is a massive time-saver. Very easy to use!

Great app, just needs a photo option. Just what I needed. Certain exercises I can’t do so being able to structure my own program is excellent. I’m a very lazy « stretcher » but will make a timer to try and be better….. It would help immensely if there was the option to add a photo/diagram to each segment. Could that be added?

Seconds. I have use the seconds app for over 10 years and I cannot fault it. I haven't even looked through different version packet want in my capacity as a person fitness trainer. Kind regards Matt from guzzFIT Sydney Australia

Essential Health Tool. I've been using this app for a few years now on both my iPad and iPhone and I absolutely love it! I've got some staple routines on here for my physiotherapy exercises which make it really easy for me to consistently and correctly progress through my rehabilitation, and numerous circuit activities that also make my fitness more enjoyable and keep me pushing right to the last second, and if I think of or see any new circuits it couldn't be easier to quickly add them to my list of programs so I don't have to think, just do. I highly recommend this for everyone

Watch doesn’t do it all. I was looking for a watch app that I could use to give me intervals while out running and discovered this app worked. However when the run was completed I discovered my workout hadn’t recorded as a run workout so I couldn’t see how far I’d run, calories burnt, or where I’d run and it didn’t count as a run towards my monthly goal (nor could I upload it to Strava like normal runs). I did hear the beeps I wanted to hear and I could still play music at the same time without interference but without being able to record the distance etc it is pretty useless to me. 😫

Great fitness app. You can customise your own workouts and when purchased, store all your favourite workouts so you don’t need to think of a new one each day. You can allocate different colours for each exercise and rest times. Ideal for preplanned HIIT workouts.

Cheapest. Still have to pay to actually access timer but cheaper than any other one where you have to do the same, only $8 single payment and no need for a subscription. Does the job

Very basic. The app is ok. But it’s very basic and has complex UI to other apps. Like for example if you have work out that has 10 rounds that are 2 mins with 30 secs rest you have to copy and paste it as 2 min 10 times and :30 secs 10 times. also the fact you need to manually label each.

Great app very versatile and easy to use. Easy to customize your workout. Great features and easy to set up. During the workout says exactly what you wrote. Eg running 1, running 2... that’s what it’ll say. Also if you want to redo a set while working out, you can just click on the set you are working on to redo it and continue on. It if in recovery week you want to skip a set, you can move forward until the next one. great feature. Highly recommend it 🌟

Misleading- this has no free version. They lie to you that its a free product with a paid premium version before you install it, as soon as you install it you’re informed its just a trial and it only lets you use it a couple of times before locking you out until you pay. I setup a timer to test it and was considering paying to support developers with good products, then wanted to use it once but alas I was locked out. Wont be paying a cent and thought it would be a good idea to inform others this is NOT free at all.

Great app -really flexible. I think I tried around 10 interval timer apps, this one does everything I want plus a bonus of spoken interval names and countdowns. All the others had some weird limitation which meant I couldn’t get them to work my way. This is so flexible I challenge you to find an exercise circuit or interval pattern that you can’t create. On top of that, you have the option of a one time payment at a reasonable price instead of subscription.

Seconds takes seconds. Great app for running group classes, PT sessions or your DIY session. Preset timers are easy to see and easy to follow. The customised option is easy to navigate once familiar with the set up. The timer options for preset playlists to program sessions or playing over random music keeps the user in the zone of intensity without the added mental input of counting reps or watching the clock. A great addition to a professionals toolbox or those training on their own.

Misleading - poor Apple Watch functionality. At AU$8 for this app I am very disappointed that: 1. Phone and watch cannot show the same workout at same time. If you run the app on the phone but move about the gym to different stations I had hoped all the info for next exercise etc would be on Watch. 2. I can not get HR from Apple Watch to work on either watch or Iphone 3. The support website is of little help - seems full of ‘not possible at this time’. Overall I like the iPhone app but it lacks the features I wasted my money for. Reading the descriptions in the App Store it suggests much more, hence my title of being misleading.

Cool, minimal and highly functional. Love the timer design. Big minimal type with coloured backgrounds. Easy and fun to use, I look forward to creating my own workouts. Would love to see more colour options also even a white and black background option. Also the ability to add in notes or even pictures for each exercise? For the times you forget what the exercise is.

Fantastic App!. I have spent some time creating my own personalised workouts using Seconds. I love this app, and my timers. I recommend it. Once set up - these are good to go and they make it simple to keep motivated and just get on with your workout. 👌

Easy, functional, well thought out.. I find this app intuitive functional and simple. I can easily tailor a workout on the fly, and set colours for visual cues and music to suit the workout. It doesn’t glitch or crash on me -we’ve all had apps do that!- but instead it’s reliable and does what I bought it to do -even better than I had hoped. It copes easily with complex workouts and allows me to plan much more easily than ever before.

My go to timer app. Allows you to create any timed fitness activity that you can dream up. I like the ability to colour different exercises so that I get visual cues of the next exercise and the voiced count down and exercise announcements mean that you don’t miss the transitions between exercises.

Excellent choice!. Very user friendly and reliable. All the functions you would assume to be included are. I like that you can put on your own playlist and it works beautifully. I mainly use it for circuit training.

Functional. I love using this app and the ability to make up my own time intervals and rests has allowed me to make a bunch of different specific interval training protocols for climbing and hang boarding

Easy to use and incredibly flexible customisable timer. A simple, easy to use and flexible custom timer that I use all the time. I love the text to speech to let me know what activity is coming up with a countdown timer of 3-2-1 as a lead in. The voice over alert for half way is very useful too. However, I’d like to have the ability to set alerts at other custom times eg in an activity of 20 mins I’d like to have more alerts than just one at the 20 minute mark. I also agree that there is not enough ‘ducking’ of the music that’s playing when a voiceover alert comes on, particularly when playing through my watch. Setting the audio level of both independently or allow setting of a custom ducking level would be welcome.

Good, but has some flaws/bugs. Pros - comprehensive timer setup - very detailed settings to create multi purpose timers, not just for sport - keep phone awake and timer always on option - cadence option, super useful Cons - sometimes timer kind stops, more so if it is in the background. Cadence beep stops. Have to bring it to front to continue it - I have taken two stars off for this single issue: the app is ‘sticky’... if you have it open and let the horizontal scroll/swipe bar at the bottom fade then try and swipe the app out of the way or up, it takes a few goes.. SUPER ANNOYING. Please fix this!

Very useful. I bought it to follow my workouts but now all the family uses it. Very easy to use, yet powerful, you can time anything and the interface is very friendly as well. Great tool and investment!

Great, functional, helps me stay focused. Great App. Works as it should, and speaks over my gym music. Pro version Would benefit from some preloaded workouts for the money. Also it would be nice if workouts could be reordered more easily. Last request would be for an option to load single set exercises into warm up and cool down so i could do 4 warm ups of 30 secs each.

Great app!!. I’m so glad I found this, I use it constantly for HIIT weights & running workouts. I have it set to count down with audio for each change, and it tells me the next exercise without me needing to look at anything.

Crashing when creating folders. I purchased the pro version as I liked what I used in the free version. But just tried to create folders to organise my workouts and it kept crashing and closing. I have IOS11. So the most up to date version. I read there was a bug fix for IOS8 but it’s still happening now. Fixes please?!

Worth it. This app is great! I can save all my workouts and put them in colour coordinated folders. I love that I can also share workouts with other friends that have the app

Very practical app. I use this to time my physiology exercises And cold showers One minor issue: a recent update seems to shorten the time a timer stays active. So after exercises are done if time is left on the timer it used to stay active; now if I don't use it for even a short time it dissolves

Great app, wonderful functionality. I love this app! It has a rich functionality and easy to setup. However, it usually requires a restart after a first round (I’m too lazy to set up two rounds of exercises) otherwise there won’t be a ticking sound.

Great app. I have used this app for awhile now and love all of the features….its super easy to use and a really simple and yes functional app. I just wish that I could sync it with my phone as I currently run 2 versions as its an anonymous user only. So if I change to my iPad I have to reset the timer all over again. Unless there is a way to sync across iPad and iPhone? Cheers

Great. So far have this for 2 weeks and I have to say keeps me on track with my workouts. Before this I use to waste a lot time resting between sets. Now it keeps me going and more efficient workouts. One of my better app purchases. Update on this app. Absolutely love it. Use to set a white noise sleep and meditation. Really flexible. Wanted to update my review. I find this to indispensable for my workouts. Really works well and keeps me on track. If this is no longer supported not sure where I’m going to go. Love this app. Use it every Workout.

Well thought out!. This app got me back into my exercise routine!

Complet et versatile. Excellente application. Excellent soutien technique.

Very well designed.. This app has a very intuitive user interface.

Excellent. Je n'ai pas mis 5 , parce qu'il y a des petits problèmes lorsque je veux ajouter de la musique . Ça ne fonctionne pas toujours

Super satisfied!. Hands down best timer I’ve tried. Started with free version, upgraded to paid and totally worth it. Have multiple timers saved for HIIT, tabata, EMOM workouts plus multiple separate timers for interval runs and cycling workouts. Easy to use.

Great for timing your exercises. This is a great way to time your exercises. I use it for running. It’s easy to edit and I love how it is set up.

Fantastic.. This is my personal trainer.

Solid App. I have used Seconds as my workout timer for years. It’s well designed, flexible and very useful. Definitely a recommended app!

Does everything I want!. It’s perfect.

Perfect.. Great app! Easy to use. Love the Tabata option!

Easy to use. Use it to teach Tabata, HIIT, Bootcamp, and for my own workouts. It’s easy to set up no matter the kind of timer I need. It’s definitely a great tool!

Seconds. I’ve been using seconds for quite a while. I love the way I can customize a workout and have it work the way expected! It really helps keep me on track. Kudos!

Great versatile app!. Super easy to use, lots of options for customization, create your own simple or complex routines. Interfaces well with Apple Health app also. Only thing I would ask for is an option to have the final voice countdown for each interval changeable, from the standard 3 remaining seconds to also 5 or 10, etc.

Excellent AAP. Perfect for personal and business use. We use this timer aap for our bootcamps and it never failed us. Helpful that you can use your own music playlist and create as many timer of any kind. Free version is still good for a person who doesn’t care to have limited timers however for a business this aap is worth to purchase.

Great app. Been using Seconds for years, overall great app experience. Easy to use, quick and functional.

Perfect!. They nailed it, it's perfect. Just buy it! Now!!

Fantastic App. Very helpful to run our boot camps. Easy to create timers. Over very happy with the app.

Really good app. I’ve been using this app for a few years. I use it train at home; leg intervals, abs and core, arms etc. I use it to warmup before running with a 15 minute routine. I use it to practice body movement, every 15 seconds I change to a different position to train balance and coordination. I also use it to time my self when I’m working as a life model for different poses. I highly recommend this app!!!

Perfect for HIIT. Works like a harm

User for years. Very useful! I use Seconds daily basically . And I’m loving the refreshed colours! It feels almost like a new UI Update: it’s been years and I still use Seconds almost everyday .

J’adore cet appli. J’adore ce programme, vous planifiez vos exercices et temps de pause et tout ce que vous avez à faire c’est d’écouter second pro vous dire quoi faire ♥️

Fantastic. Great product. Use it daily for a variety of workouts and find it very easy to use. Like the number of settings you can manipulate for the different timers.

Un aide excellent. Bonjour, Un minuteur fiable, versatile, d’utilisation facile et très peu dispendieux. Il est toujours là depuis plusieurs années. Merci beaucoup

Great App. Great app for interval training. Easy to use, you can listen to music while using it. You can add warm up and cool down periods as well. I have been using it for many years!

Excellent. Works well with no fuss! I can set up a series of excercises with breaks in between, change the intervals, move the intervals around. I don’t use the music function

Simple and reliable. Audio prompts. Probably the only app I pay for. Use it for my stretching routines and time-based workouts.

One of my top 3 apps. If you do HIIT workouts, Seconds will make you LOVE doing them. The app is simply awesome.

Works great. Easy to edit, great tool

Helpful. This app has come in handy time and time again. Easy to design timers just how you need them. Great app.

Great app!. Love that I can get creative with my intervals

Doesn’t sync with Apple Watch. Have the right version of Apple Watch but still doesn’t install

Best timer app!. I use this app for everything ! From set poses to intervals to strict timer on a loop. So great! Love the boxing ding too.

I absolutely just love this app, one of the best applications of all time!. Oh my gosh, let me tell you about my absolute favorite apps of all time! Seriously, these developers and creators deserve a standing ovation for their incredible work. I can't even begin to express how much I love this app. It's like a masterpiece, you know? One of the things that blows my mind is how it actually speaks out loud the messages while the timer is running. I mean, come on, that's just genius! It's like having your own personal assistant reading your messages to you. And let's not forget about the user interface, it's absolutely fantastic. It's so sleek and intuitive, it's like a dream come true. Honestly, there's so much to say about this app, I could go on and on. But I'll just say this: thank you, thank you, thank you to the brilliant minds behind this piece of art. You've truly created something special here. I'm forever grateful for the joy and convenience this app brings to my life.

Awesome app. All the features you need and none you don’t

Excellent! Highly recommend!. This app has been my favourite since I installed it 5 years ago. It accompanies me through all my workouts!

Great app. Perfect for creating the routine you need

I love it. It really gives me a good workout

Flexible. You can do whatever you want, the way you want to. Copy paste feature is a fatastic time saver… Nesting timers make this app so powerful

Timer Review.. It has been a welcomed tool to supporting my overall fitness.

DC. No fluff juste enough to make any kind of training

Great fitness routine app. I love that it allows me to not have to look at a list but announces the next move for me. And that I can save my own routines.

Love it!. I was introduced to this timer through a 90-day workout program I started and I love it. Easy to program and works well for my needs, including running playlists off my phone in the background.

paid app. locks you out after few uses and forces to pay or recreate your timers. waste of time.

Not great for exercise. I bought this app because there is an Apple Watch app and I wanted an Interval Timer that I could use in conjunction with the Workout App. But, this app doesn’t work with the Workout app. If I start a workout and then start the timer, it stops the workout. And if I start the timer and then start a workout, the timer is silent and doesn’t continue working in the background. What I thought was the solution for an exercise timer turned out to be completely useless.

Making me pay again!. I purchased this app sometime ago and I’ve gone to use it and it wouldn’t let me sign in, so I downloaded the new version and now it’s making me pay again and it won’t allow me to restore my previous purchase

My little personal trainer!. Been a lot of fun creating my own workouts with this interval timer app. Easy to use, reliable and has helped me stay on track. Use it for all of my workouts five times per week.

I guess you need a watch?. I can’t seem to get this to properly log my activity on Apple Fitness. I can see it, but it doesn’t credit the activity. Not a good look. Help area wasn’t useful.

Perfect. Exactly what I need for all my different workout types.

Bike and Run. I’ve enjoyed using the app since about 2013 to exercise and train when I put my bike in a cyclops fluid trainer. Over the last couple of years, since I bought my Peloton treadmill, I also use the App with the treadmill to set up a more structured HIIT run than Peloton offers. Keep up the great work!

Update for HIIT w/Count. I stopped using Seconds for a little while because it was difficult to perform the workouts that was to reps instead of time. However, since the last (or the one prior) update, I noticed that I can now do so (workout to reps instead of time). What will prevent me from rating this 5 stars in the future is the lack to incorporate a calendar to maintain a history of the workouts...be it through the app itself, or linking a calendar to it specifically...I need just a little more!

Excellent timer app!. As a healthcare provider, I recommend this app frequently to my patients. There are many preset programs for exercising. But the best feature is the ability to create custom timer(s). I find the amount of options to customize your timer in this app is superior. The customized timers take more effort on the front end, but are extremely helpful and time efficient on the backend. If you’re not interested in taking the time to make a customize timer, there are several preset timers to use. Love this app!

Didn’t have required functionality. Reasonable, but limited functionality. I would have loved to find this out with the trial period. I spent some some setting up a timer to try once to see if this app worked during trial period. Unfortunately once I started the timer and made an edit, it wouldn’t play anything without a paid upgrade. It seemed like it would work, so I paid only to find out it in fact didn’t. Mea culpa. In the future I would recommend this company make their free trial a time limited trial (say, 1-3 days) or with the ability to create a timer and use it a reasonable, enumerated number of times greater than 1. In either of those cases I would have been able to see if this app worked for me, annoying to pay to find out it doesn’t.

This is the BEST App you can purchase. I’ve used this app for several years. Whether you need to create a Tabata, Round Timer, or HIIT Workout, you’re covered with 1 app. This app has always been updated with new features. I really appreciate the developers who created this. You can literally have a workout timer on your phone, anywhere you go. Body weight circuit training at home or on vacation. I rarely ever write reviews. This is the best $4.99 I’ve spent on any app. This app is Excellent. Buy it now and begin or continue your fitness journey.

No other apps compare. I have been using Seconds for years. It’s not that I haven’t tried other apps. Ones included as part of other programs/apps. Stand-alone apps also. None have the versatility of Seconds. It’s the one I consistently come back to. It’s never been for reason that Seconds wasn’t “enough”. You think that other apps would improve upon the success of Seconds and apps like it, but Seconds has stood, and remains “head and shoulders” above others. For years.

Perfectly simple!. This was the missing link for me to have effective workouts at home! I’ve been going to a trainer at the gym for the past year and a half, where I always seem to have a good workout with the trainer pushing me. However, at home it was a different story where I would take over an hour and a half to do a 45 minute workout (I get easily distracted with music, Netflix, etc.). Now, with this app I much more focused and have been having great workouts – with me huffing and sweating at the end just like I do at the gym.

I like the Seconds app but I don’t like that I can’t add it to my iPad. I used the trial Seconds app for a workout and found it to be one of the best timers I’ve tried. So, I decided to license it for $6.99 while I was using my iPhone. Today I’m trying to add it my iPad so I can use the keyboard to setup my workout and it doesn’t recognize my Apple in-App purchase and doesn’t sync w/my iPhone. Please tell my why? Very unhappy and the reason I gave it a 3. Support forum is painful and very little information or details exist on setup and use. You just figure it out, but when you do it does a great job. Please make it available across all my Apple devices using the same Apple Account.

keeps me on track. instead of reps i do minutes now. with this app to keep me on track i can fit an intense workout into about 25mins what used to take an hour. it helps keep me organized and its really easy to edit my workouts. plus when i know my workout is going to take 25 minutes, its a lot easier to find time and motivation to get it done. i tried the free trials of many other workout timer apps, they all lacked something. CUSTOMIZATION! i have that here. thanks for letting me pick my beep and not making me listen to an annoying voice telling me its time for the next rep.

Runners! Awesome for interval/speed work. I rarely pay for apps, but this one is totally worth it. For a very small price, I got many hours of great intervals, splits and speed training. Easy to use, easy to organize, easy to sense while running. Great design - you can add things like an extra 10 seconds to stash your phone before the first speed piece, or give yourself a mid-point beep on hard intervals. I finally bought a Garmin but I still use this app for speed work because it’s better designed and easier to use. And gets better with each update.

DON’T HESITATE - sign up now!. I’ve been using Seconds for years - looking for a way to customize my own workouts / tabatas / morning and evening routines etc. I LOVE how simple and flexible it is, and the design and customization features make it even better. I create 3 minute to 90 minute breathwork, yoga, meditation, strength training routines that I can tweak before or after any workout, leading my through the exercises I want. Nothing beats having a teacher in person, but for at home or on the go use, I absolutely love it!

Stellar timing tool!. After about 6 months of nearly daily use and a couple of updates I couldn't be happier with an app. The recent update ( or me finally figuring it out) to have a 1:00 prep time is huge. Instead of hitting g go and rushing to start you can now take your time to chalk up, set feet, get grip and go right on the bell. Voice prompts are great, boxing clapper us even better. Gong is great for calming during breathing ladders. Very customizable with colors, categories, prompts, and several other very useful items. Paid version is totes worth it.

BEST SELF FITNESS APP EVER!!!. I bought this app a couple weeks ago. And it’s sooo convenient. I highly recommend it. It’s the best out there. This game s the first app payment I made. And I DO NOT regret it at all. Best purchase I’ve ever made not. This is not a bot typing this. I am a real human. And it is very trustworthy. If ur hackaphobic or whatever. Don’t be afraid of this app. Cus it’s very trustworthy. It tells u in the beginning that it costs money if u wanna use it. But u don’t have to if U don’t mind creating a new interval timer thingy every time u wanna workout. Which in my opinion takes forever and so I just bought it instead. BUY THIS APP AND YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!

Perfect timing app for exercise. There’s no reason not to try this timer. I can’t imagine an exercise timing schedule this app couldn’t handle. It’s easy to setup complicated timers. So many timers want you to pay a subscription, not this timer! You can use it for free as long as you want, but you can only run a timer once. If you don’t mind remaking timers you could use it for free forever (the app even tells you this). But if you do want to support the devs, you can for a (IMO reasonable) one time purchase. It’s simply the best timer.

Best timer to date. I have been a trainer for the last 15 years. I have used and tried so many timers while working with my clients that were not user friendly, they cost to much, or they just stop being compatible with my devices. I finally came across “Seconds” and this is hands down the best training timer I have ever used. Easy to use, quick set up, and love the customization ability! If you’re in the fitness business or just into fitness, this is the only timer app you’ll need!

Great app. Very good app the timers are highly customizable. You can split intervals and rename each half as clockwise, left, right, back, forward etc. The text to speech is amazing and allows you to exercise without having to memorize any workouts. The integration with Siri Shortcuts is awesome as well, you’re a hey Siri away from having your favorite interval timer pop up on your screen. All these features make it that much easier to sustain a workout habit and I appreciate this app for smoothing out this process. Highly recommended!

Extremely customizable and useful. I am doing intense, detailed physical therapy for my right hand which was seveeely damaged in a vehicle accident. It takes over an hour to complete the exercises, which must be done five times per day. I have many exercises that go for repeated timed intervals with short rest between. I would lose track or fall asleep from boredom. I programmed seconds for the exercises using voice prompts that call out "stretch 1, rest, stretch 2, rest....". Now I can close my eyes with headphones while I stretch each finger and not lose track. The voice prompts are killer.

Great but not perfect. If the app has no issues, it works perfectly and the customization is amazing. For a while, an issue I was experiencing was the app would stop outputting any audio if you switched between different apps while your timers were running. That issue was resolved. Then the other issue most recently was audio would skip while timers were running and this would occur even when not switching between apps. This issue was also recently resolved.

Issues with sound. The Seconds app is generally great, with lots of customization options, so my 1.5-hour structured workout is made much easier due to its features. But this app STILL has a couple of major issues involving audio that have been reported and experienced by many people but never fixed: 1. Audio alerts stop working after pausing, but only sometimes. Probably involves some combination of playing other audio (podcasts/music, or an incoming call that interrupts workout) and maybe phone screen locking. This problem almost destroys the usefulness of this app and must be restarted. Seems like it’s be an easy fix but the developer has ignored it so far. 2. Audio alerts will not seamlessly transition from one exercise to the next without a filler custom “transition” workout that I set to 1 second. This really clutters up a long workout “playlist” and unnecessarily complicated workout creation and organization. Again, a mostly good app — but for a paid app where I’ve reported these issues many months ago, I’m disappointed they have never been addressed.

Essential fitness tool. So essential to my workout schedule. Also Great for teaching yoga and personal trainers. this app lets me customize each workout for specific clients without having to ruffle through a bunch of papers and books. Easy to use and full of options for whatever type of workout you do. I’ve been using this app for 5 years now all my workout are still saved! No problems with bugs glitches or compatibility I am a iOS user.

Meh not what I expected. So I got the free version and was so enticed by all the other timers that I bought the app only to find that the timers included workouts which are annoying. Granted I can still use any timer I desire and just perform my own circuits but still rather annoying to hear announcements of exercises I may not be performing. That being said the exercises they do provide are decent (not customized for ppl with injuries so you must be aware of your physical capacities). Overall I give it a 3 because I’m using it more than 3x a week and it is better than the stopwatch that the iPhone comes with.

So easy to use. I’ve been using Seconds Pro for probably a decade now. Easy to set up and use, which is a plus especially when you just want to do a quick workout! (Eg: Tabata) Saving your pre-fabbed workouts and having them listed makes that possible! I always encourage my personal training clients to get this app— it’ll make a difference bc NO HASSLE … pick your workout and GET TO IT!! Plus, if you want to add some extra time or rounds, this is also easily done on the spot. I also love that it counts down over my music and let’s me know if it’s a rest or work phase etc.

Works but drains battery. The app works as described, it is an excellent timer for HIIT training. However, if you don't close it when you are done using it it will DRAIN your battery. According to my settings it used more of my battery than any other app in the past week just in the background (why? What could it possibly be doing in the background?) and this is coming from someone who uses my phone for a ton of different things like reading the news, snapchat, etc. an app I use as a timer for 15 minutes a day should not even come close to using as much battery as many of my other apps. Please fix this.

Fantastic app!!. This is a great app! I am teleworking and was trying to figure out a way to get up every hour and do a short workout—just to get off my bum for a few minutes. Looked for an app to add workouts to, that will act as a timer... this is it! I was able to add all of the exercise moves, add music, reps... and, you don’t have to look at it, because it has a voice countdown and reads the next exercise. So many great features! And I’m sure I’m not using all of them. Love this!

Just bought the app. Just bought the app made several of my workout , organized them into folders and everything just to find out that everything has disappeared! Great start Update (probably a couple a years later don’t remember) Despite the initial bug I that I have not encountered again, I’ve being using this app since and yes is probably the best “timer” app you can find right now. I would say that it is a bit overpriced but is the App Store so that’s that. It has a lot of nice feature for various timers but I end up using only che custom timer since is more fast for me to set up. The only complain I have (that is also the reason I remembered about this review) is that, on my iPhone 11, once I start the stop watch and let it run for several minutes, once stopped, the upper right corner of the screen has a “ghosting” effect of the numbers keep running. And it last for quite a bit. I don’t necessarily think is the app fault (but rather than the iPhone screen), but still is annoying.

Indispensable For Tracking Any Workout Sets. I’m a long time user of Seconds of many years who uses the app for nearly every workout. The flexibility of the app is unparalleled for creating quick and simple or complex sequences. Whether it is strength training sets, HIIT, VO2 Max, boxing, etc. you can set it up quickly. They’ve improved the app over the years, but always have stayed true to the simple but effective UX. I rarely leave reviews, but this is one I was compelled to pay forward.

Perfect workout app. I do circuit, HIIT, and sprint workouts throughout the year during various phases of my workout programs. Seconds has both the structure and flexibility I need to build and edit my workouts in a matter of minutes. I can listen to a podcast or music and don’t even need to look at my phone because of the vocal cues telling me what to do and when to start and stop. Definitely the most impactful workout app I’ve used.

Simple and effective.. Since all the gyms are closed and everyone is staying inside. HIIT Exercises and at home calisthenics is the best option at the moment for me. If you don’t have heavy weights at home or resistance bands keeping yourself accountable for each exercise is key. The app helps me stay focused and allows me to push through without needed to keep looking at a watch. I like to use the Three Beeps + 10 Second Beep Alert. Most of the time I can be lazy at the end of set. The alerts remind me to push more towards the end of the set. Easy set up and easily adjustable to my liking.

Great app. I use this app to time intervals while using my elliptical machine. I especially like the speech countdown option. With the speech cue, I don’t have to watch the clock and can get the most out of each interval. When I’m not distracted by the clock, I’m more focused and my average heart rate usually increases, thus giving me a more effective workout. Some set up options are self-explanatory and some are not.. I wish there were a users guide that explains all of the options available when setting up a timer.

You found your timer. I’ve been using this timer for years. I have created several of them and use them almost every time I workout or just need a timer to focus while I work. Create categories of different timers, integrate it with your iWatch, the possibilities are really more than you’ll likely ever use. I highly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase again. Update: my opinion hasn’t changed, this is still my go-to timer. If you’re searching for one, look no further.

A great custom interval timer !!. I’ve been looking for a good interval timer for my little workout sessions and this is now my go to. I’ve tried quite a few that were a disappointment before this. It has ones ready made for you to just jump in but to me it really shines where I can take my time and customise what I need. After the trial I was happy to pay for the full unlock. It was worth it. An excellent app that I can easily recommend. 👍🏽

Simple, straightforward, reliable, effective!. I have used Seconds for about 4 years for HIIT workouts, running and stationary cycling. It is very simple and easy to customize which I love, making it a quick set up and effortless but reliable for repeated use as my HIIT timer. It plays in the background while I listen to music or watch shows and the timer alerts always fade any other audio so I never miss a queue for my intervals. Great little app! Thanks!

Amazing app ... Except for Apple Watch syncing. [ ATTENTION ] I’d first consider buying the pro version ( separate app ) instead of upgrading in app. It doesn’t change anything except your family can have access too. Now for the review: Quick: Overall I’d recommend getting the app. Just a feature for during workout syncing Detailed: Overall this is an amazing app. There are many options to customize/create workouts if you pay a reasonable price, 5$. And I can access the workouts on my Apple Watch, but there is also a problem with that. While it works perfectly fine, there is no option for my phone and watch to sync while doing a workout, unless I missed it. And as there is with every app, there are little bugs that seem to fix them selves and that the developers will be fixing too.

Customizable but not easy. Minimal Instructions. Good Luck. The app has a lot of options but it’s not at all intuitive and there are no written instructions. There are some videos on you tube but they are minimally useful so you have to keep asking Support questions to understand all the options and settings. It’s frustrating and painful and way more complicated than it needs to be. I would be a much bigger fan if there were clear instructions somewhere and I didjn’t have to spend hours trying to figure out what all the options and what the app does that I have no way of knowing about.

It would be a great app if the Rest Period and Prep Time functions worked.. UPDATED: The iCloud backup feature does not work between devices, which kind of defeats the purpose. I was able to create yoga sequence timers; however, I had to go back into the timers to edit them just to add prep timers between each interval (asana change), as the Rest Period and Prep Time functions do not work; actually, the Prep Timer works only for the beginning of the routine, not in between intervals. Also, it would be nice to be able to choose two interval sound options like the Text to Speech (pre warn) with the Gong. Other than that, this is a good app to have for yoga, mediation, and interval training as it takes the guess work out so that you can focus on the actual asana, meditation, or workout.

New bugs?. I like Seconds very much and use it daily. I noticed 2 new? bugs: sometimes the phone's clock is not visible during a running timer. Have not found the pattern but sometimes I switch to other apps during a workout. Or I switch back and forth between exercises and breaks of the running timer. 2nd issue: the color of the main countdown sometimes switches from black to dark gray. This is less of an issue but it would be great if you could put the clock back permanently. Thanks!

Love it but.... I love this app and have been using it with my class but it would be nice as an instructor to be able to use my watch as a remote. Yes, there are other apps that do this but they don’t give me the creative freedom that Seconds does with my timers. My phone has to stay in one spot since our current setup requires us to hard connect to our sound system. This means I have to keep walking away from my class to go pause or skip when needed. Having that ability on the watch would make life so much easier and my class won’t be frustrated with me walking away from them; especially when I take my class outdoors.

Absolutely love this app!. I love this app! I’ve purchased the monthly subscriptions so that I can reuse my workout plans a couple times before a create a new one! It’s kept me motivated to try out new things and to continue working out. It’s also great because it keeps track of time and reps for me, which I’d be horrible at without it! Only problem is that lately it’s been ending before my workouts are over (about 30 minutes in).

Great workout app. I upgraded to the paid version b/c I couldn't save custom timers w/ the free version. I love the app. It doesn't matter if you are working out for yourself or teaching a class...this makes it easier. You can use standard timers or make custom timers, use text to speech, have audible alerts, etc...many nice features. I create a workout and get lost in my workout; I let the alerts tell me the next exercise and just have fun. Love this app... I use this for personal fitness and other things...like a cooking timer...and teaching karate classes. It's nice not to have to watch the clock.

Great app for Tabata, CrossFit, Weightlifting. Seconds gives you a solid, trackable timer with excellent text to speech so you can customize your workouts with helpful hints or unique moves without relying on prebuilt sets. Creating a new workout is fast and easy and there are multiple helpful visual cues (different colors, screen flash, etc) and audio cues to make sure you hear and notice what's happening. Also easy to pause rewind or skip so you can use your favorite workouts even though you're working around an injury or need a longer break sometimes.

Flexible. Unlike most other timer apps Seconds gives you a lot of flexibility while maintaining good usability. There are a few minor tweaks I would suggest, namely making a darkened nighttime option, a slightly more visually appealing interface and a bit more flexibility in determining when beeps go off before at the exercise level (e.g. one beep 12 seconds before). Other than these it works great. Although it's made for workouts I mainly use it for daily pomodoro-like study and work routines and found great benefits in it.

Fine tune please.. My timer on my watch can’t be heard with my Bluetooth headphones. The audio beeps come through the watch only. I can’t figure out why. When I use timer on phone so I can hear it through headphones, I wish I could set the beep volume. I’ll be listening to music at a reasonable volume and the when the timer beeps it’s so loud it hurts my ears. So much louder than the music. Pretty much my only problem with the app. That and wish the “quick timer” was a little quicker to set up. Just a time to set it at and a start. No other list of options and settings to click through. By the time my timer is set, my breaks over. Again tho, still a great app.

Nice interface, terrible function. You can only use interval timers you create once, so unless your interval training lines up perfectly with one if those they have you have to pay. Which I did. And regret it. I end up fumbling with this so through training, have to restart it nearly every time, and it’s distracting. Specifics they need to fix: - Despite the setting for turn music down not being on, it turns music down. Inconsistently. When the timer comes on the music goes down and sometimes doesn’t come back until the next set. - When someone calls, whether you answer or not, the timer sound disappears. The only way to fix it is close it and reopen. - Depending on what audio app you are using, timer will simply disappear after a number of large sets. Again only way to fix is close and reopen. For a beta app, good stuff. Good interface etc. For a paid app not acceptable.

A+ ADHD hack!. I work in a factory and we can only take so long on each piece as we polish components. I set this up in my eye line with a bright color and it helps keep me focused when my mind wants to wander all over the place. I’ve gotten so much more work done since I got this app (I pay for the full thing because making timers over and over again hurts to think about). My work place isn’t the most educated on adhd and how to manage things so I’m glad I was able to find a quick and cheap solution that helps me keep my job!

Love the app would like to use it for clients. I am a huge fan of the seconds app! I work as a personal trainer and use the app for many of my training sessions. I love how the app will read out loud the exercises. I use this to build workouts for my clients to do in their own. If possible it would be free to be able to access accounts for use red and be able to share timers. This would allow me to share workouts with clients. I know trainerize is commonly used in the industry but I think the simplicity of the seconds app would be even better! 🙌

Counts time for you. For several years I've used this app to manage timed workouts and stretches. The app is like a digital coach reminding you to keep going. More than a basic timer, it has audible reminders of time running out or new exercise coming up. The large display makes it possible to set the phone down and workout hands free. Keep your music playing throughout. Lastly, it's easy to set up and manage new timers for all types of workouts.

Use it everyday.. This is a great app. I use it every single time I go to the gym. First investment for those who like crafting their own workouts. The text to speech is clear and I can hear it through the music, the colors are bright and the text bold so I can see it when I am not close to my phone. it really is just a great app. Very practical. Very useful. Perfect circuit timer. Glad I found it. I’ve had an iPhone for over 10 years and may have purchased half a dozen apps. Seconds was definitely one of them.

Great for workout circuits. I literally use this app everyday for my workout circuits. I love that it connects to my headphones and verbally counts down to the rep/ rest, and says what the next exercise will be (so that I don’t have to interrupt my workout to look at my phone)! I pretty much only use the circuit/ tabata timer since I do circuits, and I can easily enter the number of sets, the rest time between each set/ and intervals one time for the whole circuit... and I don’t have to manually enter each rest and each set. I’d definitely recommend this app!

Apple Watch issues. I was really excited about this app and was looking to use it to set run/walk intervals for a 12 hour race. I was not able to use it on my Apple Watch until I purchased the app so I couldn’t test the functionality before hand. Everything worked great on my phone but the timers will stop if the watch screen goes off when you lower your wrist. I couldn’t hold my wrist up the whole 12 hours nor have the screen on the whole time since that would drain the battery very quickly. Not happy with this purchase due to this oversight in functionality.

Worth paying for the full app!. I have a set schedule of workouts throughout the week, and I love using seconds to keep track of them. I don't have to carry a notebook or remember what my workout is; I can just pull up my timer for that day of the week and my exercises are programmed in and timed, so I can do my workouts anywhere! I also love using this app when I teach classes. I don't have to keep track and call out time for my students--The boxing soundtrack keeps us right on time!

Amazing. This app is amazing. I’ve tried many HIIT interval apps, and this far exceeded my expectations. I set up a personal custom timer for my circuit workouts, and now that Roku is compatible with AirPlay, I can mirror the workout from this app onto my garage TV (and my home gym set-up is now complete!). I bought the pro version so I could save workouts. Really enjoying the following features: *text-to-speech: announces each workout station at the start of the respective interval *music integration: sync song changes with intervals *halfway alert for when you want to split one interval btwn left and right limb
