The best, don’t delete.. Can you please leave this up forever I use it a lot

It was free. For the title alone I give it a 5 star. It was a free download I got with the purchase of the port lV recording device that also came with a free download of Cubasis(which did cost $30 to upgrade to full status. But $30 for was worth it to me). The AMPLIFi app is much better than this one but it was free so I’m not gonna complain.

Doesn’t work with iOS 13. Please make it work again

It’s a brick. Doesn’t work. iOS 13 broke it.. Non functional. Apple knows it. Line 6 knows it. No ones doing anything. If you just bought the sonic port take it back for a refund. If you bought this app then tell Apple you want a refund too because it’s officially a brick as of iOS 13. Worst part of it is they knew at the beginning of the beta and did nothing. Trash.

New look. It's now very drab. It's like Line6 doesn't care about it anymore. Maybe so... but we who have bought the interfaces would like updates to improve things on the level of Garage Band, which sets the standard for great updates to their product. Please reevaluate and lose the generic look, guys. Thank you

Just me. How do I begin? This app has been a life change just for me enjoying the different sounds and I am able to create and enjoy it through my app through the Amp.

Stopped working with ios13. My Sonicport, which I just bought a year or so ago, is now a brick. Where’s the new app?

Very bare, bias does it better. I just bought this and really regret it. First off the cleans are great. The crunch channels aren't bad either but the high gain isn't very good. I own all of the bias products( bias fx, bias amp,JamUp pro) and it stomps the absolute crap out of this for half of the price. The recorded sound quality isn't even on par with bias or even ampkit. Here's the kicker: for the price you don't get very much. Yes you get the amps which most are great but the effects department is sorely lacking. I'm very disappointed in this offering line 6 because you can do so much better. I do a lot of recording, jamming, and playing live. I highly suggest that you skip this and buy the bias apps. It'll roughly cost the same price for all three apps vs this one. Trust me, you'll thank me. This is one of those app experiences that suffers from a company expecting their name and hype to sell the product instead of the actual product itself.

iOS 13???????. Since the iOS13 update, line6’s sonic port became useless. I couldn’t find any reliable information about what is actually going on, if this is apple or line6’s fault and even if sonic port will ever work again. Even if it’s apple’s fault, isn’t line6’s responsibility to get in touch with them and, to honor the trust of the user base, to get them to fix the issue or at least let us know that a fix is on its way??????

The blame game. I bought a brick! iOS 13 will brick your sonic port and they are blaming Apple for changing things when they have had 4 months to figure this out. You can’t even sell it now and downgrading to iOS 12 is not an option. Customer service 0. They are still selling this thing! DO NOT BUY!

Be careful if you own older version. I owned an older version of this that came as part of a package for a guitar interface to Apple devices. The software came free with the hardware. I looked up the software and it showed newer version with no cost. I was charged $20 plus tax and in disputing with Apple they said there was no grounds for a refund or reversal. Shame on you Apple. Buyer beware!

Excellent for international travel. I’ve had my Sonic Port w/mobile pod for a year. With very limited space for luggage, I use this product w/EG1 traveler guitar all over the world. This allows me to jam in the hotel or almost anywhere w/headphones! Awesome, I wouldn’t leave the house without it!

Do not waste your money on this garbage. Forget Line 6. The app doesn’t work with any iOS device. I have 2 sonic ports and now nothing works with this app. Line 6 is garbage company will be out of business soon.

New iOS GarageBand won’t read the mic anymore.. Could you please Make this compatible with the new iOS update. GarageBand won’t read the mic anymore. PLEASE. I wanna make music

Warning - Doesn't Work. I never take the time to rate an app. But when I run across something this horribly bad, I feel obligated to warn others -- do not buy a Sonic Port device if you are expecting it to work with this app. Line 6 knows of all the problems discussed in internet forums and has never taken the time to fix them. The app is supposed to recognize the Sonic Port device, but is unable to. Many blame it on defective cables, but overall it is completely useless with this app. However, you can use the Sonic Port with other apps, but Line 6 lures you into purchasing the devices with this software. Hopefully Line 6 will decide to remove the in-app purchase and allow its customers to finally use this app. Just when I was starting to love Line 6, I've lost faith in them.

Crashes. I've had this app for 5 minutes to sample some sounds and it's already crashed 3 times. The UI is very cluttered, especially on the 4-band EQ where the dials start physically overlapping each other. The sounds are pretty good for just a quick sample, but again, the UI could be (and should be) improved to make it less of a headache. And like others have said, add the sound-share back. It was advertised and it feels kind of dishonest to have a pretty big feature like that taken out.

Not working with iOS 13. Just spent $100 on this SonicPort, hearing great things about it. Only to find out it doesn’t even work with iOS 13. How do you get away with selling a product that’s labeled “Made for iPhone and iPad” when it does not work out of the box? I don’t care if it’s a Line 6 or Apple problem, why were sales not suspended knowing that you have a non-working product? PLEASE get this fixed!!

buggy. I was shopping for an apogee guitar interface, but the store I was at only had line6, so i thought I would try it. The hardware required this app, which I downloaded. It worked with garageband, and the app had an OK user interface for playing with the various guitar amps. But the app crashed twice while I was browsing amp presents. I took the hardware back, because it only had iDevice connectivity (the apogee jam has iDevice plus USB). I don’t expect I will use this app, since it crashed twice in the first 15 minutes I used it.

Does Not Work With iOS 13!. I bought the Line6 Sonic Port and it’s useless with iOS 13. Line6 offering no help at all, blaming Apple. Line6 support is non existent. Don’t waste your time or money.

Disappointing. Unlike previous versions you can't download tones from customtone. I feel ripped off.

Update your product please!!!. I’ve really enjoyed using my Mobile POD but you’re not keeping up with updates for iOS 13 it doesn’t work...PLEASE UPDATE!!!!

IOS 13 Issue. Sonic Port does not work now with IOS 13 update on iPhone 6S Plus or new 11 Pro Max. After three months, still does not work on new 11Pro Max with updated IOS 13. When will this be fixed?

Trash. It started out fine but now in 2019 barely ever even opens. By the time I get it to function properly I’m too frustrated to even start jamming.

Ridiculous app. Was supposed to get this app for free including iap. Line 6 making rubbish software meant I was charged in full for it, despite all instructions being followed. So watch out if you use line 6, their software is so far below par it’s crazy

Good sounds, decent latency, bad UI. Kludgey UI! I can't figure out how to turn it off without doing a forced quit. How to disable when I've finished playing and switch apps?

2.0.4 broken in iOS10.3.3 iPad. Built-in audition loops no longer work, nor getting any sound through Audiobus or AUM as an effects unit. I have seen this issue happen on more iPads that run 10.3.3. In general i have had good experiences with Line 6 hardware, but my experience with this software app has been a constant let down.

Bricked by I OS13. A tool I have been using for a couple of years is now bricked by the latest iOS update. Not extremely happy. I would assume they are working on an update but the official statement says that they don’t know when or if Apple will address the problem.

Had this a long time. Seems to have stabilized considerably in latest update Tones are very good and easy to dial in effects Seamless play along with iTunes library If you haven't used in a while give it another try This and GarageBand are now my 2 favorite amp sims

Performs beyond my expectations. I've ditched all my other sim software. Mobile Pod has everything I need for my practice sessions. Did a lot of research before buying the Line 6 Sonic Port interface for my iPad Air 2, and it's been completely stable and brilliant, with hardly any noise floor unless I really crank the gain up. I didn't really expect to use the bundled software due to the reviews here, but I've tried a bunch of stuff, and Mobile Pod is my fave. The GUI is intuitive and easy to navigate. The tuner is a bit weird - slightly erratic. Tones sound pretty good for a sim. Certainly better than my old Pod 2.0. I'd like to see more flexibility in the tone library in terms of custom organization, but I basically just make my own tones and use that folder. Wish users could share tones as with other Line 6 products. That's my chief complaint. Anyway, great software.

Best amp sim on iOS. These amps sound better than amplitube or Jamup and there are plenty of amps to choose. The effects are limited however. The effects are enough to make the app useful but I can't get every sound I want. I should mention that the effects in amplitube and jamup aren't much better. Those two apps have three times more effects to choose from but the sound quality isn't as good. The line 6 effects are a minimal set of reverb chorus eq compression, just one effect on each category and limited options on each. I like the idea of just having one version of each effect. I'd much rather have one great reverb than six cheap ones. The reverb in this app is better than anything in amplitube but it isn't great. So at the moment, if I had to choose one iOS amp sim app and gig with it, line 6 would be my choice.

Doesn’t work in iOS13. I’ve used this for a long time. It was not bad, but it stopped working in iOS13 and I don’t see any attempt to fix it.

No Worky. Very frustrating that out of the gate this app has no use. Losing my patience with this kind of thing.

Not bad but could be better. Honestly it's not bad at all. Sounds pretty good and has a bunch of neat lil effects but compared to a powerhouse like Yonac's Tonestack it kinda falls a little short in my opinion. The distortion modeling sounds really crunchy and fun to play but lacks some of the dynamic quality in other apps. Not to mention I just bought the motherload for tonestack which has like a million pedals and amps and they all sound good. Sorry for the comparison but yeah. Get tonestack instead

Crashing! Update please!. I use this app to make a living. It is a great app but needs a refresh and UPDATE as this it keeps crashing when you click “Select” and you’re not able to SHARE the tones. 1) UPDATE to stop the crashing please! 2) Make the app easier to share all your tones that you’ve worked so hard to make, you know the ones you made so that you can make a living :-) .... Is it possible to add the functionality to share your entire SETLIST or to even push your Tones to the Cloud like the Line6 Spider Amp & App??? 3) We need the ability to TYPE IN YOUR DELAY AMOUNT RATHER THAN USING THE RIDICULOUS ROUND SLIDER THATS HARD TO GET RIGHT!!! 4) WE NEED A PHASER!!!!! If you fix the above and maintain and update it and read comments make the Sonic Ports a priority and support them better, this app get FIVE STARS!

DOES NOT WORK. Warning - do not purchase this app or the associated amp li fi amplifier. I have had this product for about a year now and this app has never been stable. It crashes at times, and usually fails to sync with your amplifier until you've tried/failed the manual sync process several times. Do not purchase this and make the same mistake I did - now if i want to play my guitar using this gear, I need to waste time that could be spent playing trying to get the app and amp to sync. So disappointing

Doesn’t work anymore. Guess the iOS 13 update has killed compatibility with Sonic Port.

From beautiful design, to UGLY flat trendy laziness. I really do not understand the psychology involved in replacing beautiful graphics with the flat fad crap. Dear tech industry: STOP DOING THIS.

Mobile In. I purchased line 6 Mobile In…ios 24pin iphone 4 and used with GarageBand migration to iphone 8 24pin to lightening adapter. Thanks for da memories. So, 2024. I used to uses this app for free…now it’s 20$? I replaced the mobil-in hardware with a donner 48v interface interface…is it worth paying the $20 for this? Over and above the GarageBand amp sims.??? Convince me :)???

Awesome. Downloaded ,and I could not get off the first preset because it was PERFECT!!!!! I Love It. I have been on software since it started. Been play for 42 yrs. Only reason I haven't bought their products before is of Cost. They can't help their Great. Anybody having any troubles with it , please let me help U ..Thanks Pod Made MyNight!!!

Does not work on iOs13. Title says it all. Stopped working after update to ios13

Will not work with IOS13. I strongly advise anybody if you have updated to ios 13 to avoid purchasing any line 6 product . It does not support this update leaving your product unusable . If your haven’t updated to 13 than it will work perfectly. It has been a few months with no changes to functionality and I don’t foresee it getting resolved

Used to be awesome. I loved this app, but a recent Update to either IOS or the app causes it to crash on load. IPad II, latest IOS....

Want the original version back. Cant even open. Do not update. Deleted and reinstalled and still does not work at all! 4/7 no updates to fix. Has rendered my interface useless. 4/13 they finally fixed it but im not sure i like it. Wish they would just go back to old style!

IOS 13 not compatible with Mobile Pod. I love Line 6 and have the guitar port and sonic port. I love the tones and flexibility of the two platforms on IOS and a Mac OS. Unfortunately, Apple in its update to IOS 13 and OS Catalina have not supported the drivers for either platform. So this app will not work with your IPhone if you are running IOS 13. Also any amp modules you bought will be unavailable to use. Moreover, if you are using Line 6 monkey on Mac all of your amp packages are no longer compatible. Apple and Line 6 need to fix this. This was a great app to use and I used it daily recording riffs with GarageBand. But no longer. Please fix the compatibility issues.

No tap tempo, no note value for delay. Title says it all. Completely inexcusable failure to include basic features renders this useless junk. Line 6 should know better.

Sonic Port VX not working anymore. You guys gotta update your stuff, otherwise you’ll get a reputation for creating products that go obsolete after every iOS update.

Doesn’t work on iOS 13. Please fix it

BEWARE: No longer works. With the release of iOS 13, this app and related device no longer work.

Not so much anymore. I was enjoying my Sonic Port as a way to practice without noise. But after my last iPad update, it doesn’t work. I plugged in to my amp to be sure it was the Sonic Port. It works fine through the amp, just not my i{ad or phone. You get 2 stars because I used to like it.

Beware. Does not work with iOS 13. Confirmed on iPad still running iOS 12. Hopefully Line6 will update.

Could be great, if.... The sounds are serviceable. No midi control of the effects, so what's the point of using the effects if you have to take your hand of the guitar to work the effects.

Always check reviews before purchasing. This works on my iPhone 11 Pro, but not my iPad Pro (2020) model. Maybe it’ll work better if they update things a bit.

Use Settings to Restore Purchase. The product works fairly well. The quality varies depending on the interface you use connect your guitar to your phone or iPad. I was disappointed that my original purchase of this app could not be restored when I installed it on my new phone. Then I tried doing it through the app’s settings and it worked. Just make sure you’ve signed into your phone using the same iCloud account used for your original purchase. I’m loving being able to put in some decent practice even late at night.

Doesn’t work in iOS 13.1.2. Worked fine previously, great sounds as expected. Updated iPad to iOS 13.1.2 and sonic port vx and this app no longer works

Bugs. My app no longer works I can't hear anything and when I play a pre made track there is just a lot of horrible digital noise!

Could do with a bluetooth pedal. A foot pedal with expression capabilities would make this the ultimate rig.

Great App. Great App which sounds perfect. One suggestion if Line 6 read these reviews. Would be great if they added the air play function so you don't need to use the output jack or rely on the inbuilt speakers.

Mobile Pod. It just works ! Guitar into iPhone into front of house. Sounds great ? It is great ! Leaves Amplitube for dead.

Do not waste your money. The app and sonic port do not work on latest version of iPad. Simply a waste of money and frustration that you don’t need. A real shame as this used to be my go to set up for the couch.

Stopped working with recent iOS update. Loved this app but now this and my Sonic Port won’t work thanks to Apples new IOS update :(

Absolute realistic amp/cab simulations. This is such a great product. The digital audio in and the app is just what you need if you too want to enjoy the great full body sounds of a Mesa or a marshal etc.... I just wish I could get refunded all the money I spent on the very poor quality irig

Need Developer Feedback. I’m confused, I paid for the upgrade on one device (iPad pro) do I have to pay another $30.99AU to unlock on my phone. If this is correct, then the 1 star review stands, (otherwise 5 stars..?)

Un-aapy. Crash's on ipad1 and iPod touch4.

Impressed. Very pleased with the sound and amount of pedal/head/cab options. It blows amplitube out of the water.

Truly amazing. I have Amplitube and Ampkit, this offering from Line 6 leaves the others for dead. The other modellers are noisy and the results are less than impressive. Once again the Line 6 POD rules when it comes to amp and effects modelling. Unfortunately the lack of support for iPod Touch is a major fail!

Not Happy. Was an awesome sounding tool but unfortunately it now sounds absolutely horrible after I installed the latest Apple update. Bitterly disappointed. I hope Line 6 can fix whatever the problem is caused by Apples latest update to the app

Awesome sound. I have tried the Irig gear and was impressed this is just so much better sound wise. It would be perfect it they had biult into the software playing your own tunes on the iphone to practice too. Certainly not a show stopper. Once again Line 6 blow the others away with there gear

Incompatibility. Was working great until incompatibility issues with AppleOS 13.1.2.

Line 6 sonic port. Coolest piece of kit and app combo Well fine line 6

It used to be very good. I purchased this on my old iPad. I cross loaded it onto my iPhone , but now I have installed it on my new 6th Gen iPad and it won’t restore my old purchases. It keeps asking me to purchase it again. Now I notice I’m not the only person who has had this problem but Line 6 doesn’t seem to have responded. I have an original Pod and a MiniPod. I also have an origin 112 Spider amp and have been happy with Line 6 products for years. So how about it Line 6? How about responding to back you product?

Hey do a update to make sure perfect. Add on a looper pedal free. Like I said also please just make sure it’s perfect so do a update. I’m also thinking I did have the previous purchases does not work in app so fix that too. How do I search online set up rigs like Clapton or Mayer rigs ?

Useless. Useless doesn’t work on iOS 13. Means any sonic port product from line 6 is useless.

Mobile pod 2. As a guitarist, the previous version worked well for me, it made sense. Mobile Pod 2 looks cheap, unintuitive, and a step or 10 back.

A1 tones but ultimately useless.. Five stars if recording capability is added in the future or if the POD tones could be used with other apps. What's the point of having all these great tones when you can't DO anything with them?

Plug and play. Sonic port, one guitar and a set of headphones and within 5 minutes I was having fun.

Is noisy and would not work with Garageband. I am a fan of Line 6 generally but this app was frustrating, It was noisy and generated feedback at even low levels, It would not connect to garageband via inter apps, mighta have to stick with AmpliTube.

Utilisateur Mobile 6. L'application était complète et performante. Après une mise à jour, toutes les commandes sont indiquées en caractères asiatiques. Impossible de naviguer dans les menus. J'ai contacté le support à plusieurs reprises, aucune réponse et toujours le même problème. Décevant.

Worth the $$. Here’s the thing this hardware and software is not cheap but combine that with an iPad Pro and you got a solid and very huge array of effects . Well worth the coins imho .

Works as advertised.. Bought the hardware and the app works great. Too many options is a good thing. The pre-loaded efx are really good. The hardware works with GarageBand and I can play along with iTunes. Awesome.

Forget recording with this device. 5 stars for amp sounds 0 stars for recording these same sounds BEWARE: These great tones/ amp sounds are not available when recording in any IOS app so its mostly useless for recording. This unit only acts as a quality AD converter when recording and nothing else. Line 6 does not clearly mention this anywhere on there website or in there literature and I personally believe this to be purposely misleading. What they advertise is " quality" recording which is only true for the actual signal and not the tones/ amps. For jamming realtime it is great and works as advertised just like there POD systems etc. Unfortunately , and i will say it again, if you want to record a guitar / bass track in garage band or any other multitrack IOS app with that killer amp sound, you can't! I am a long time line 6 product owner and was greatly disappointed. As far as I can tell seemingly all other IOS GUITAR I/O devices have the same limitations unless you purchase there own dedicated recording apps. I find it likely this lack of recording ability is a restriction imposed by Apple and their usual " George Orwellian" ideas rather than Line 6. If it is a line 6 restriction, then this is the kiss of death to selling there product. I returned mine for a full refund.

No distortion boxes. Works great and is a fun practice tool. Lots of good sounding amps and Fx, but no distortion boxes...

no native coreaudio support. First of all a word about gear: if you expect sound from the 1/8 headphone jack adapter to be as good as one going through the 30 pin digital, you are setting yourself up for disappointment and frustration. Trust me, you can hear and feel the price difference. I’m a bass player and have an iRig and an iRiffport. Actually, no, I just gave away my irig to a friend. Sadly, the app does not work with either. I would have been willing to pay a fair price for a Line 6 app that would work with the iRiffport. However, Line 6 seems decided to only support their own interface, the “digital in”. Still, being able to browse around the app I see two important features missing: a recording interface and background audio/ ios multitasking. This would basically enable you to dial in your tone, hit the home button and run a sheet music app like forScore or iRealb while still hearing yourself. Interestingly enough, you can actually do that with the free version of Ampkit! (And yes, Ampkit works with the iRiffport.)

Needs update for the new ios. Needs update

A new twist to an already remarkable idea.. The mobile POD and Mobile In combination work great. It a very good cost effective effects processor/ modeler for those who already have an iPhone or iPad. My only two complaints are that the effects are only active when the Mobile POD app is open and running in the foreground. Once the App is minimized to say access a digital chord book such as OnSong, it's no longer processing. The other complaint is that there seems to be no support for monitoring via Bluetooth. Other than these two things this work very well.

Bought to use with bass. There are no bass amps or effects so this app is of little use. I'm pretty disappointed.

Great updates. Love the fact that you can keep the sound going after you leave the app to go to another tab app like Songster. Problem is, the background (recording) will not turn off when you are done with it. How do you turn it off?!

Great!!!. Work perfectly with my iPhone

How to use preset tones?. How do you select and change presets? I can search and select tones from different artists but they all sound the same? Even if I select a clean tone it is still heavily distorted when I start playing? What am I doing wrong?

Hate to do this. I am completely astounded that they still, with this big 2.0 update, have not implemented midi control of patch changes. Midi control of any kind, near as I can tell. Bias has it, amplitube has it. And if they say it's because their hardware doesn't have midi, well that is just dumb and short sighted. The sounds are great, I would pay full price in a second, but without this, it is a completely useless piece of junk to me.

Vraiment bon. Les sim pour guitare, Je les ai tous... mais celui-là me surprends par son interface simple et vraiment fonctionnel, et la dynamique des ampli... WOW!

Long time satisfied Line 6 customer. I have an original floor pod, spider amp, have owned a live xt, a tone port unit that this works with, and now a ux2. All I can say is this app with my tone port device has been a great purchase and flexible as hell. I’ve used it to record on my home studio and my go to portable for practicing anywhere in the house. For a little guy the tone port unit with this app and my iPhone exceeded all my expectations. I’ve used portables right down to when the Scholtz rockmans first came out in the ‘80’s, and this blows them away. By far the best and most flexible headphone unit for its size and price.

The best guitar app. Not very impressed right now I’ve got useless peace of steal right now let’s get a move on between u guys and apple should have this figured out by now

Decent.. It's a great idea, really: using your iPad/iPhone/iPod for recording guitar. Especially since the interface for this app is pretty cheap! What makes this app "decent" is the fact that it's almost impossible to get real tones. Try out any high-gain amp model and you'll see, it cannot produce something comparable to an actual amplifier. What I do is plug into an actual amplifier then line-out into the interface. I just skip this app because it doesn't give a nice tight distortion.

new ISO. I cannot find the new version that goes with the updated ISO of my ipod

Too bad. Looks like a great app but once again I have to go buy another piece of hardware. Irig guitar jack etc etc why don't these developers make it (the app) compatible with all hardware (other than to make another buck) I would be glad to buy the app if I didn't have have to buy another piece of hardware. Looks like another one to delete. Too bad

Scam. Apps not working at all.. it opens at least. Total scam. Sonic port won’t work with n e of my apps now.

Works in ios 14. everything works fine in iOS 14 with the sonic port. No complaints.

With the Mobile In, Amazing!!!!. *** Warning *** For this app to work you must purchase the Line 6 Mobile In adapter from a music store. In Canada they retail at $79.99. The app is free as you cannot use it without the Mobile In. Now as to how it sounds, I have the Irig and Amplitube Paid version. The Irig doesn't hold a candle to this unit. The Irig is noisy where as the line 6 is quiet and has a higher dynamic range. The effects are what you would come to expect frontline 6 in the pods and amps. This is the first thing I've tried over the years that I think is playable a on headphones without sounding like a tin can with distortion. I have a full stack sitting in my basement and I'm playing on this thing right now because it sounds so good. Also, you can download custom sounds like the Dimebag Cowboys sound

Needs an update. As a looong time Line 6 user I am astounded that this app has not been updated to work with the new iOS. I travel a lot and this is a great app with the Sonic Port hardware. Please fix it.

Incompatibility Issue. It won't work with my son's iPod 4th Gen iOS 6.0 Works great on my iPhone 4

Great Tones For Free. Having experience with the iRig adapter and Amplitube free, I can tell you that Mobile In device and Mobile POD are light years ahead in quality. Amplitube free comes with the most basic equipment and everything else is an add on. this app however gives you just about anything you'd need to achieve whatever tone you want. Blues, metal, shredding, punk, roots rock, classic rock, psychedelic, jazz, country, etc. only drawback is that the device uses your ios device for power and the battery drains fast. is app doesn't display your device's battery life so you sometimes get a surprise "you're running low on battery life" message.

amzing!!!. all the effects and amps you need you can bet they will be on this app. its awesome!

The best but needs update. I Really love this app, but don’t work since IOS 13, needs an update quickly.

It's ok. it would be nice if there is a foot pedal in that way it would be a lot better...I know Digitech has made one but it's for the iPad and iPhone...my opinion is THERE'S NOTHING LIKE BEING ABLE PLAY AND USING YOUR FOOT PEDAL INSTEAD OF USING YOUR FINGER FOR EVERYTHING!!! And for those who want to argue go and make a comparison between a GUITAR AND TONES USING (ONLY) FINGERS FOR EVERYTHING!!! VS GUITAR AND TONES USING FINGERS FOR GUITAR AND TONES/EFFECTS USING A FOOT PEDAL OR FOOT CONTROLLER OR WHATEVER NAME YOU WANT TO CALL IT!!!! My point IS (opinion) there is a smoother and better TRANSITION when trying to SWITCH effects only using again a foot pedal rather trying to play then quickly try to switch to another effect using your strumming hand others like Digitech ARE listening and have done it...I know others would then say...then go and use there product and stop complaining!! but the problem with that is I don't trust Logitech enough to get it..I really don't know much about how good are they in the sound...but I know LINE 6 and some others!!! I just hope LINE 6 will consider it after all they have it for CPUs and laptops I believe iPhone 4 and 4s is capable of doing the same question is are they listening!!!

Mobile POD. I like it!

Update please. My line6 mobile in wont work on iOS 9.2.1 I think it's firmware related it was working Fine before 9.2.1 please update app and firmware

Has been working great, until today. IOS 13. I’ve had the sonic port for almost 2 years now and it’s been working okay (had to replace it via warranty). The software has been working well though. Until today. Updating to iOS 13 has broken this app, which means my sonic port is useless as I can’t get any sound from it. Thankfully I don’t rely on this as my rig. Or I’d be screwed. Let’s hope Line 6 gets a fix out fast.

Horrible waste of life. No matter what I try, this app is a failure, why won’t the app ROTATE on an iPhone XR, but will rotate with just an fraction of a turn on an iPad 6??. The app has no good metal sounds with any volume, but the jam feature is awesome cause you can COULD adjust the music volume to match with guitar, COULD was the word, I had it setup to jam along with MOOER GE, but the dam app won’t rotate in screen to adjust any volumes, it’s either iPad or nothing. I’ll choose nothing. MOOER GE ALL THE WAY!!! And I own the HELIX LT! MAKE AN HELIX IOS ALREADY!!

Great App. Great selection of tones and access to online tones created by other users is a great addition. Mobile In device has a very plasticky feel but works.

iOS 7. Worked great until I updated to iOS 7, now it doesn't work anymore, just hear static.

A shame. I'm super disappointed that couldn't make this work with the IO DOCK. Otherwise, I would have purchased the Mobile In hardware.

It's a start.. Very un-intuitive and confusing. Today's gripe is the fact that there is no independent volume control if one uses the app's ability to use backing tracks from the music library. What happens is, you often have a loud backing track that drowns out the guitar, even if the guitar amp model is on full rendering the option quite useless. Perhaps this is an IOS limitation? If not the ability to control backing track volume would be useful,As well as the ability to select tracks from playlists, not just artist, song etc..

Thanks for nothing. Was considering the purchase of a line 6 product and wanted to test this app with my non line6 interface. Apparently no can do. You guys not only cost yourselves the sale of an app, but you’ve also guaranteed that I won’t be buying any of your devices. Short-sightedness can be costly.

Poor quality mobile in adapter. The app is fine, but the mobile in adapter is a cheap plastic loose fitting faulty item. Mine stopped being recognized after only using it a few times. I have even been taking special care not to be heavy handed with this flimsy feeling adapter ever since I bought it. It is no longer working for some unknown reason. NOT PLEASED! And line6 is acting like there is and has been no problems with them ever.

Disappointing.... I have been a long time Line 6 fan. I've owned every iteration of the Pod family, used them for countless sessions. I was very excited to hear they were getting into the mobile game, as other iPad modelers are lacking. But as I assumed they would tie it to proprietary hardware. Sigh. Line 6, you CAN sell software only and make money. Come on!!! Maybe the company wouldn't be so badly in debt if they could get away from hardware sales driving the business. I have already bought 2 iPad/iPhone interfaces and there is NO WAY I'll purchase another, no matter how good it is. I'll wait it out until you release a $20 app that does not require a dongle. Eventually it will happen after the hardware sales falter and your board demands you make this work. Also, you have super talented graphic designers on staff... let them design a better icon!

Soo good. Ual

Doesn’t work anymore!!!. Line 6! When are you going to update this App? It’s not been working for well over a year now. Very disappointed!

Mobile POD. I picked up the Mobile In interface at noon on 11/11; however the Mobile POD app was not available for download via the App Store until just after midnight on 11/12. In any case, it was worth the wait. I've been using Line 6 products since the Amp Farm back in 1999 and Mobile POD is a direct descendant of Amp Farm and the Original POD. The 32 amp models are a good selection from the 72 or so from POD XT and Vetta models and sound excellent for what they are - amp models several generations older than current POD HD models, let alone Axe-FX II and Line 6's other competitors. Line 6 has been recycling these models for several years in various POD devices; nevertheless, they still sound decent. The main disappointment is the stomp boxes or lack thereof. While the included FX models sound good, several typical model categories are missing, such as a phaser and any overdrive, fuzz or distortion pedal (unless I'm missing something). Knowing Line 6, I'm sure we will have to pony up for additional model packs or in- app purchases for these "extras." The hardware itself is cheap plastic made in China. What is strange is that because it uses the iPhone 30 pin connector, you can't charge the i device while Mobile In is connected. They should have made a pass thru dongle and placed the input jacks on the sides. So better charge up before using Mobile In.

Useless without the mobile in hardware. I really like my other LINE 6 products and had looked forward to this product's release. This app+hardware seems to be a faltering first step, in that it requires a $70 piece of hardware to run, there is no way to evaluate the app without the hardware, and the app is locked to the hardware even if you want to use a different input setup. Without the LINE 6 mobile in hardware the app defaults to an exploratory mode. In theory you can explore the app to get a feel how it might work. In practice this feature completely useless because the app will not work with any audio inputs except for the LINE 6 mobile in. It would be better for the app to just quit after explaining that you must buy the hardware. The LINE 6 forum "mobile in" section suggests visiting a retailer to listen to the tones, because they may have a demo set up. Again, not particularly helpful. I'd like to re-iterate what the other reviewers have said, and would rather just pay for the app and use it with my I/O dock. I too own several other LINE 6 products, and am disappointed in this offering.

Awesome!. Don't understand all the negative reviews posted by the haters. For $5 you get an incredible array of classic amps, stomp boxes, and speaker cab combinations... all fully customizable and interchangeable in various setups for limitless combinations. No need to waste a lot of time re-inventing the wheel... The factory presets are KILLER! Plus you can take it on the road with your iPad and plug into a PA, saving lugging around a lot of expensive gear when you travel. Have you priced a Marshall stack lately? How about a 50's Bassman or a Mesa Boogie? Not cheap, and this app provides those sounds and a slew of others. It's also compatible with Garage Band and Jammit, and i expect the developers to continue expanding the capabilities and improving this app. Work great with iPad 4. Get the 8 inch lightning adapter from Apple. Chinese knockoff won't work. Tried it. As the Blues Brothers would say, "What do you want for nothing? Rubber biscuit?"

Good app, prob never use it!. It's amazing that we are looking at great apps like this on a mobile device yet to use them we are required to carry around a bags worth of dongles from every other company... I agree with the above post. I would have rather paid for the app and used the current setup I have already invested in. I'm not going to switch out dongle after dongle to use different apps. That was the beauty of io dock. The app itself is good looking and I explored it. Many presets look fun. The bad thing is,I can honestly say that I will probably never use this app. I have a lot of gear that works and I don't think I will be getting any more just to try a different app. It's a shame too. I really think this app has potential. I was waiting a while for it to release. Sadly I will be deleting it right after this review as all it is doing at this time is taking up space(until I find a mobile in). This app was on my iPad for five minutes when it could have been on there forever. Just saying guys. Open up a little. It's better for all.

Amazing. I own all of the amp emulator apps and I can easily say this is by far the superior when it comes to tone. I am still blown away at how excellent the sound quality is and the mobile in is absolutely worth every penny. This app is great for just playing but I would really like to see some other add ins like the ability to play backing tracks or record then this app would convince me to delete the other ones.

Great sound but missing key features. I'm using this with a bass. The tones of the amps and effects are great! It needs to run in the background especially since the link to iTunes doesn't seem to recognize any music types. Maybe it is because some music is in the cloud but I've tried cloud songs, songs on my iPhone/iPad that I purchased from iTunes (and physically exist on my device), plain mp3s that are on my phone...I haven't got one song to play. The combination of this annoying quirk and lack of background support makes it a lot less useful for practicing and/or learning music.

Line 6 What Have You Done?. Somehow, someone at Line 6 convinced their leadership that changing the Mobile Pod interface software was a good idea. This person and the leader that approved it should be fired. Line 6 took a great product and really screwed it up. The new interface is not user friendly and looks like a preschool class designed the look. Sound is worse too, which is the biggest loss. If you're looking for great tone through your IOS interface, recommend you go for Bias Amp, Bias FX, JamUp... or for your computer interface, it's hard to beat Peavey's Revalver. I can't recommend Line 6 until they fix their interface design and sound. Really unfortunate.

This is software for line 6 sonic port buyers. I own also 2 line 6 amps and a PC interface like this whichever is also good you have to realize line 6 can not include ipad software when you buy their hardware so they have no choice but to hope you at least read the warning do not download without owning hardware i find the amp models to be better on the PC and ipad than the amp preset models also I can assure you they are not bating you into buying hardware why is simple there is only one way to get post sale buyers ipad software and your looking at it blame apple for marketing vendors toss software into same pool and hope you get it

Please update!. It’s not responding to IOS13!.. c’mon guys, this wasn’t cheap!..

I like it.. The amp models sound great the best I've heard from the app store. I don't mind the mobile in at all the sound is far better than iRig. There seems to be some bugs like with the iPhone my phone signal disappears after I end the app but on the iPad it's all good. Also when saving a tone it seems to default to no cab when I return to that tone or the amp model is turned off. All being said this is a fun toy and I've enjoyed using it.

Please Line 6, wake up!. Guys, you don't need to sell only hardware to make money. This app working only with your hardware with lots of people owning different audio interfaces for iPad and iPhone doesn't make any sense. Please, charge for the app and make it work with iO Dock, apogee JAM, your Mobile In, etc. If Mobile In has some very special features to be the only audio interface to work with this app, please tell us what it is and I will change my review. Mobile In has very good features! It is ultra compact, work with the iPhone and with stereo in. People will buy it, even without this app and this strategy. 3 stars because the App is beautiful and you still have time to change this game and make people happy selling the Mobile Pod a lot. Why not making Mobile Pod free only for Mobile In owners?

New interface. I like the old interface that looks like the real equipment. Perhaps this is easier to change settings, but looks are not to my taste. Doesn't even look like a mixer. Give us the choice to use the Skeuomorphic interface which looks like the real things we covet. That's one of the reasons why I use the pod to begin with. I like knobs and the texture of the amps. Can we have a option to choose which interface?

Excellent App... Add a few Things and it will Be Perfect. Absolutely love this App... I am a metal head, so I'd love to see the following... The Bogner Uberschall, Engl, and Diezel amp models with their respective cabs... Even if you might have to purchase it in-expensively. Also, a metronome and a way to record riffs, and some more effects... Make the metal shop available and more effects models available... LIKE I SAID... ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS APP!

Lots of feedback on the input. Got the in app purchase to unlock the open interface option, I get excessive feedback on the input signal using both the Griffin Studio Connect and the Behringer i-studio, both have input impedance controls but no matter where they are dialed to their if feedback crosstalk going on,very similar to when ampkit and Jamup first came out, kinda disap Line 6 didn't test a few of the docks for ios before they flipped the switch.

Finally - a modern guitar processor app!. Line 6 really gets what making music on mobile is all about. The sounds are great and the UI is modern and doesn’t look like its’s from the 80s. The design doesn’t insult my intelligence; I don’t need to know what a Fender or Marshall looks like. A tasteful reference is more than enough. Glad to know if I want to use this with my Apogee IOs I can as well! Kudos! Great job!!

Great mobile amp rig. Don't get hung up on reviews of technical elements. Real musicians know it's about tone. This setup is far superior in terms of sound and ease of use than anything else currently available for the platform... particularly the apogee device which is extremely noisy and a pain to use. I do however agree with the comments about Line 6's continuing inability to "play well with others" and will withhold a single star in my review. If you haven't already made a significant investment in the other toys that have come down the pipe in the past year or so, this is a great place to start your mobile rig.

Sonic Port don’t work. Sonic port don’t work in IOS 13

Awesome. This app is great! All the different sounds are fun to play with. The speaker on the iPad 2 does not sound that bad when I want to get some playing in late at night without waking up the family. I like the fact that that I can get this as an effects processor between my guitar and amp too. Also, those of you that think the cable is proprietary, it's not, just use a guitar cable with a 1/8th mono jack. You can buy the 1/8th mono jacks from RadioShack for 75 cents. Overall I am very happy with this.

Bummed. Worked great on my 4s, and the iPad, but the tones won't come up on the iPhone 5, or my wife's 5 for that matter tried reinstalling app still doesn't work. I guess I can't understand why it's not optimized for the most current version of the phone which has been out almost 7 months now. Please fix. Kinda wishing I would've spent more money on a GarageBand interface instead of this. With all that said, I gave 3 stars cause aside from this problem it sounds really good with some good headphones.

Great amps; subpar effects. I use an Apogee Jam as my guitar interface so it wasn't until this last update that I was able to unlock the ability to use Mobile POD. I have no problem with that pricing structure given that you get a pretty large amount of content to use for that 20 dollars. The amps sound beefy and there is a good range of clean and heavy tones. Works great with AudioBus and it does not seem to be a giant resource hog, which I appreciate. The effects, however, really hold this app back from being on the same level as a JamUp or ToneStack. No distortion or overdrive/boost pedals at all? From a company that specializes in effects? The delay is particularly maddening - it has only three knobs and no indication of what time you are dialing in. Overall, though, I enjoy the app for practice and recording and am glad they made it available for non-Line6 equipment.

Can't even run this app on my iPod Touch (v5.1.1). How can you put iOS version 4.3 or later and then NOT have your app work with 5.1.1? Is that not a later version? Come on, Line 6!!! People run out and buy your $80 interface that, frankly, feels pretty flimsy to me - and I can't even use the app? What's the point? This Mobile In will get returned tomorrow. I'm sure glad that I wasted the gas money to get to the store for something that I can't even use. If you are considering buying this app, I would wait until it specifically says that it supports your iOS version.

Confused. I don't know why all the haters out there are just plain hating on this device. This device rocks. I have used it several times for our acoustic practices with some cheaply made speakers and have gotten some rocking tones and crystal clear clean sounds. This is the perfect practice set up. As with anything it will get better. Line 6 is a reputable and innovative company who has wowed me yet again with this Mobile In. I own three Line 6 amps, two wireless systems, and a Variax guitar. They are all great products as is this device. Very pleased with the product!!!

Disappointed. I am a line 6 junkie I have a xtLive, ax2, Variax. I figured this would be another awesome techie tool. But to my disappointment. After buying the mobile in (very pricy) in my opinion. Tried it out at the store then when I hooked it up at home it wouldn't recognize the mobile in. Would only let me explore the app. Very frustrating. Then when I finally got it to work. So I thought cool! So I plugged in my headphones thinking it would sound awesome but I got this error popes up on my screen that said audio has been changed and to unplug the mobile in and reconnect it. And thus the circle all over again. Haven't tried it in my iPad. Also no jam through seemed to only be able to just play the guitar. Come on line 6. The only line 6 product that I have been disappointed in. Noticed that it was made in China too.

Settled in. I got the Lightning connection device for the guitar input and was a bit disappointed with the lack of a stereo and all surrounding sound. After checking out several other products, there never seemed to be an app that made the guitar amp sound like it was in a real world scenario. However, this app was the find. I am settling in with this one. It has the stereo effect (especially by adding chorus) and the easy access to audio files for the background tracks. The reverb is fully adjustable. Playing with backtracks sounds like being on stage or in a studio. The multitude of amps without the need of more purchases completes this package. I have deleted the other popular guitar apps. Great job POD.

Fairly good. It does what it is supposed to do, could have been done better though. Sounds are pretty good, although I don't see any other use for it beyond the quiet practice. There is a very little, but noticeable latency. The adapter itself looks and feels flimsy (made in China, what to expect?) and it is not always recognized by the software, so $80 price tag seems somewhat unreasonable. One possible improvement could be enabling the audio output for Bluetooth devices.

Not up to Line 6 standards. As mentioned before, the overpriced hardware was available on store shelves at least 48 hours before the app showed up on the App Store. Beyond that, the tuner is off by a half step, the cheap (but expensive) dongle falls out way too easily (if you have a decent case FORGET IT), and there's no way to record digitally using the great tones/effects provided. This is for headphone jamming only as it is. They say you're getting a better sound due to the conversion taking place, but I personally think people are better off with the less expensive, better performing iRig.

Like it. Yes, I bought the Mobil attachment. I used it along with the iPad app recently in church. Ran it directly to the church sound board. The product sounded great, and I received several compliments on the sound. I normally use a Line 6 HD 400, but recent physical problem would not allow me to carry everything for a while. I wish it had distortion boxes. I also wish there was a way to change patches without having to take my hands off the guitar ( don't see that ever happening). I have also had trouble deleting User Tones. When I start the app up again, the deleted apps return.

Great app but. It's a great app for a casual guitarist like me. Th only real complaint I have has bee mentioned many times.... The lack of a charging connection on the mobile in adapter. But I don't play for hours at a time so its not a big deal. The adapter works great on all three amp apps I have, garage band mobile pod and amp kit. And the tuner in mobile pod works the best of all of them. And need to add that I also have jam up lite witch allows me to jam with songs on my iPad so it's not a big deal although it would be a nice feature to add to mobile pod

Much better than the negative reviews indicate. I've had a love/hate relationship with Line 6 products since the very first Pods hit the market in the mid 90's. I was prepared to dislike the app due to past negative experiences with L6 modeling, but since it was free, I tried it, and initially my fears seemed confirmed. My frustration with all the L6 modellers I've owned (2.0, XT, and HD) was that the sounds had a very amp-like response and feel, but the overall tone was boxy, distant, and weak, like you were hearing the amp from behind a closed door in the next room. All pre Helix products were very slight improvements over the previous generation, not major new upgrades. And the more L6 fell behind in the technology race, the more they hyped their products that didn't deliver the goods. That said, Mobile Pod uses the 2.0 model set, and it sounds exactly like I remember my 2.0 sounding. Not good so far. But after a few days of getting nowhere, I tried disabling the speaker sims and pairing the app with 3rd party cabinet IR's via Fiddlicator in Audiobus. Night and day difference! Line 6 modeling finally lives up to its potential this way. With a level playing field, I compared it to Amplitube, Tone Stack, Bias, Bias FX, and Jamup Pro. While each app has its own strengths and weaknesses, Mobile Pod is, overall, easily as good or better than its competitors for straight amp sims. It's a little weak in effects selection, but that's not important to me, so I didn't factor that in. The thing I always loved about my 2.0 was that when you called up a particular amp model, it immediately struck you as, "yep, that's an AC15" (or whichever amp sound you were going for). There was an immediate recognition of the tone without much need for tweaking, so the fun factor was very high. It seems modeling in general got bogged down in later years with options and tweaking, and it lost the similarity to just plugging into your favorite amp and wailing away. Mobile Pod is easy to use, great UI, and allows you to get great tones quickly (again, assuming you get some better speaker cab IR's). Since I developed most of my studio chops with Pods over the years (then getting frustrated and swearing off L6 products forever), returning to these tones has been a real treat. Don't dismiss it just because Bias is supposed to be so much better - it's not!

Wish I knew how this app sounded!. Ya know, even the best ultra-boutique-tube-amplifier-emulation-guitar-processor-thingy is just that - a simulation of the real thing. I've played through just about every tube amp simulation plug-in or computer DAW effects plug-in out there (including non iPad/iPhone technology), and while useful for some things, this app won't be worth toting around another dongle - as good as it may sound. And I should also mention that I have played through many very nice boutique tube amps and effects as well. And I won't be carrying THOSE around in my messenger bag either. Hey Line 6 - just release a paid version that is compatible with all major audio adapters so that we can all brag about how cool this app is - if only we knew.

The app doesn’t work... Frozen. Update it or its garbage

It's free but $80 bucks to really use it.. That's too expensive for an iPhone app dongle. The should have charged $5 bucks for the app and kept it open ended. I've already got some iPhone interfaces and it would be stupid to buy another as a dongle. Also there are too many negatives such as you can't charge while playing or play to music etc. I've got a Pod HD Desktop and like line 6 but this is useless as is. Actually iPhone apps can be cool but I think musically related companies like Line6, IK Multimedia, & Peavey should forget silly apps and stick to real products for the musician.

Nice but how about some presets?. I bought the in-app purchase since I don't have a Line 6 interface. I like the app, but there are no factory presets included at all. I thought when I "previewed" the app a while back there was a nice selection of presets to get started with, but the factory preset list is empty. Works for me on iPad Air with iOS 8 using iRig HD. Also tried with older iRig and got the feedback issue that others have complained about - I think that is crosstalk from both input and output sharing the headphone jack. Luckily I have the iRig HD which uses the Lightning port for input and so far have no issues with that setup.

Great, But Basic Effects Are Lacking. Combined with the SonicPort, this is by far the best value and quality for the money, and access to CustomTone is fantastic. Others are ver good quality, but a rip-off as they force you to spend $30 minimum just to get most of what is needed. I just don’t understand why the Mobile Pod app has NO octave or phase effects available. They’re not even offered as In-App Purchases. But they did just add an overdrive, so that's appreciated.

A Little disappointed!. I'm a long time dedicated Line6 user for years, so when I finally got my first iPhone (5), the first thing I did was buy the Mobile-in and download this app. The sounds are all really good, but I don't know why they didn't include the Tube Screamer sim? The most disappointing part is that the interface on the iPhone is almost un-useable! I keep missing the tiny knobs and hitting other parts of the interface. Come on Line6 do some R&D here! There is no in-app play along functionality for tunes, backing tracks etc. and the third-party play along app while nice requires you to buy expensive uneditable backing tracks! Great if you only want to play with and learn what's in their library. If I had realized that you couldn't power your iPhone with the Mobile-In being used, I wouldn't have even bought it! Try JamUp Pro XT instead for a better all-in-one practice solution, and Garage Band for iPhone for recording guitar unless Line6 completely redesigns the UI on this app!

Almost perfect. This app is great for plugging in your guitar (bass in my case) and playing along to your favorite songs from iTunes on your iPhone or iPod (do they still make those?). It has loads of effects and the instrument sounds great. The two things this app desperately needs are: the ability to control the mix between instrument and music, and the ability to choose from playlists not just albums, artists, songs etc because you want to have a playlist of whatever you like to play to or have to practice and it would make the selection much quicker and easier to choose from your Playlists. Anybody out there?

Sounds bad & looks stupid. Way to wreck a great app, Line 6. I deploy six months a year on a ship and this app was my amp the last couple of years. It used to look great and sound great. It sounds like absolute crap now, and it looks ridiculous and completely cheap and amateurish. The marketing people at these companies should know how important looks are to these amp sims. I freely admit that sense of immersion that makes me feel like I own the real amps is a big reason why I shell out hundreds for the expansions to software amps like Amplitube. That sense of visual realism is gone forever and for what? The new UI is not better. In fact, where I used to be able to switch stomp boxes on and off by touching them once, now I have to select them first with a touch and then hit the on/off switch. An added step is an "improvement"? And I swear every preset has a ton of midrange and really ridiculous amounts of reverb and just sound like crap. I'm going to have to go in and customize them all. Or just delete this crap. I'm really disappointed.

Works great so far!. I'm not sure what the other reviewers are talking about, but I downloaded this app to use with my sonic port. It's working wonderfully so far, and applying guitar amps and fx is pretty cool. On the other hand, I got this app for free, and it seems like before it cost 20 bucks. That would be a different world. But, for now, it's working great. I'm running my Wavedrum into it, and it's coming out wonderfully.

You will not regret.. I am a big fan of iPhone/iPad's guitar effects apps and I have waited mobile Pod almost two months eagerly. I know that external hardware is somewhat expensive but it is worth to buy perfectly. If you have mobile in, then you can use at least Ampkit, Amplitube, Jamup. I tested it. Compared to the other guitar app, mobile pod needs more various function like loop or record. Most of all, sound quality is superb than the other app. It is worth to buy. Thanks LINE6. Great job.

Nice!. I was the industrial designer on this project, so I may be biased, but I don't use any gear that I don't like. The sound quality is far better than anything else out there. I really like the interface, and for playing quietly (like when my family is asleep) its really hard to beat! ...the mobile POD app has replaced my Pocket POD for quiet practice sessions! :)

Works as advertised!!. I would actually give the app about 2 1/2 stars and the Mobile In about 4 1/2 stars if I could. The main reason I bought the Mobile In is to use it with Garage Band. It does work much better than iRig. The app itself sounds and looks great but needs to have the ability to record or maybe jam with iTunes or some preprogrammed drums and/or bass lines. Give it some of the same features that the Line 6 Spider Jam amp has. I think even if you make a pro version of the app and charge for these capabilities it would be worth it if it is done well. I do miss the ability I have on my Pod X3 to add distortion pedals to the mix.

Good app / Bad Hardware. First, the app has a lot of great sounds and effects. I really like it! But the hardware however is not that great. When I first tried using the hardware and app. I had trouble with both my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 getting it to work. Couldn't get signal to pass until I did a hard reset on both. So maybe that can be blamed on the iDevices. Also, the Mobile In is not very case compatible with both the iPad and phone and it feels really cheap. Additionally, the special cable is just a very bad idea. When this breaks. I'll fix it. But joe consumer will have to order a new one. Even if it is free that won't be a good experience.

Where is the stomp box distortion?!!!. The positives first: It sounds great with a nice set of headphones and I really like the variety of amps, cabs and pedals. Also, I like that it allows me to play along with songs from my ITunes. The negatives: The Mobile In interface does not fit snugly into the IPad port, resulting in intermittent performance. Also, it's missing one of the most basic elements of a guitar rig, a distortion box. I can not switch from a clean sound to a lead sound without scrolling through a list of amps or resetting the gains. I am a professional musician and often need to learn songs quickly. I need this setup to mimic my stage setup and am disappointed that I can't. In summary, great sound, poor functionality.

Great tones!. think of this app as a sweetener for using the excellent Mobile in interface. The mobile in works with both iPhone and iPad ...getting pristine no latency sound into your music apps, except for amplitude( uses the lo tech microphone input)....the app has loads of great tones ....classic line 6 pod tones....I only gave 4 stars cause it needs some features found on amplitube( 4 track recorder and the song player) and Jamup( sound on sound looper) to be a complete jam/practice solution....

ONLY SO-SO, not really worth it. I own tons of Line 6 gear- JTV-59, Variax 700, DT25, HD500, GuitarPort, Pod Farm 2, etc. So I am a fan. I bought the $80 mobile-in on a trip to Guitar Center on a whim. Downloaded the app. Not the best of these type of apps, only works with the $80 dongle and it does not work with iRig, Apogee, etc. OK the app itself is free, so you need to make money. Cannot say I love the Line 6 pricing model much. Why not just charge something for the app and allow it to work with the other guitar connection solutions? BUT, what I really could not get over was the lack of pedals that are included. There is no distortion or overdrive pedals at all, no recorder, no looper, nothing! For $80 I expected a lot more. So my guess is Line 6 will want even more money for these in the future, hahaha my advice is look elsewhere. There are better and cheaper in the app store. I think I will return the dongle and say forget it!

Yuck. The new interface is terrible. Not only does it look bad it is difficult to work with. It seems as if everything got smaller including the sound. It may be psychological but it does seem as if the sound quality has dropped since the interface update. Basically I have stopped using this app. There are several other great emulators out there that have stayed with a 'classic' look interface that utilizes a realistic if generic image of the device being emulated; and they sound good too. The classic amps and pedals had their controls arranged in any easy to use and read layout. Why reinvent the wheel? So long line 6 it was good knowing you.

Not compatible with other Core Audio hardware. I suppose this product is aimed at people who want the convenience of 10,000 presets, BUT doesn't want to try to use the software for recording or performance. The Mobile In doesn't have a line out. Line 6 makes a point of mentioning the Mobile is is compatible with other Core Audio apps, but locked their own app to their own hardware. The other big names in iOS amp modeling charge less than half for full-blown apps that can be used with any interface. AND, they have free versions, so you can listen first. So, this proprietary software gets uninstalled, without a listen. Too bad, I was waiting to hear this before buying one of the others apps. I've owned every Line 6 product from the original AxSys amp through the X3, and three Variax guitars - but, this required hardware is too limited compare to the competition. For that matter, an Apple camera kit and a $50 USB mixer does much more, for the same money. If Line 6 is serious about the iOS market, I think it would be a good idea to also offer an open version on the app store for a cost competitive with Amplitude and Peavey software. Otherwise, musicians will just ignore this, other than kids who get them as presents from their parents.
