Better than that other "pro" reader.... While it doesn't have any of that in-app communication and cloud sync services (so "they" can scour your data for profit!!) fluff, it DOES have the best recognition I can find so far. Especially pleasing is the field-by-field edit capability (with links to the OCR regions!) before the file is saved. Better OCR is needed to accommodate the tendency to print business cards with letters slightly touching - which throws-off this OCR. But again, as I have tried others, I always come back to this because of its simplicity, relative accuracy, and what (to me) seems to be an absolute absence of data-mining.

No longer syncs to iPhone contacts. This used to be an awesome app & I have referred many people to purchase it. There must have been a recent update, because now it will NOT sync to my iPhone contacts which then syncs to my outlook! I purchased the pro version a long time ago because the trial version worked well. Up until now, I would recommend this app. I don't know what they've done & if not fixed soon, I'll be forced to find another app for scanning business cards! I can't find a way to contact anyone for help either!

Useful for importing contacts. I use SamCard frequently to upload contacts from business cards. Pretty accurate and easy to use. Now it also stores the image of the original card.

Great app. I've been using Sam card for 4-5 years now (paid version). The only issue is that the App forgets that I have a prepaid (forever) account and not the current month-month account they're offering. Otherwise it's the best card scanning app that I've used!

Convenient App. Though the app struggles to identify everything accurately on a business card it is a good means to assisting with creating a contact quicker. Sometimes the app is right on all info. Other times not so much and info needs to be edited.

Works really well on lost cards. Like others have mentioned there are a lot of cards with busy graphics and it doesn't get it right on some cards. However it gets most cards right, and the few it doesn't aren't hard to correct since most data is already entered correctly.

Works perfect. I do not get a huge amount of business cards handed to me and i hate carrying them around! This app does a very good job of reading them and determining the correct categories (fax, cellular, address) the information should be put in. The interface is great looking but the best feature is flexible to organize and display the information. Cards can be displayed either by date, name or company, and can be put in user defined groups so you stand a chance of finding contact information depending on how your mind remember ls. Links great with the phone contacts so updating one updates the other but only if you want it to. Well done!

Free Version is worth it. Very simple and easy to use without the pro version. From my experience each scan does get 1 or 2 things wrong that you have to correct no matter the app. You can sync this online for free and it\'s just as easy or easier than most card scanner apps.

Ok product wish it were more accurate. May be I am comparing it to card munch which was 100% accurate and sent message to LinkedIn too. Well it used People. However this product is ok with accuracy that borders on 80% range and so always need manual intervention. The product has improved a lot since my last review

Back of the card improvement needed. I do not like how the back of the card is displayed. It seems in order to read the back of card correctly, you need to take the picture vertically, not horizontally like you can with the front of the card

Convenient for business card reader.. So far I've not seen or had any issues with this app, easy load for business cards, and combines them to your address book. Loving this app

Easy way to Keep Business Cards. While not always 100%, this app really does a great job of keeping your collection of business cards from stacking up. I really like that it takes and keeps a picture of each card, particularly when it has a photo of the person on their card.

No fluff. No cloud. Just easily adding contacts.. I like this software, particularly this version because there's no fluff, no extra services no cloud BS, no syncing, just an easy simple straight forward and accurate way to add contacts to your phone. And this version just works, it's not software as a service you pay just once. Is the accuracy perfect? No. In fact normally it completely misses the business name where his other programs I tried or more accurate in that regard… However with most of these OCR programs you still have to make some corrections, but I find the corrections I have to make to be minimal and easy. In short it greatly accelerates adding contacts into your phone from business cards.

Works, but. The app does a good job, but some difficult to read or interpret areas require a fix before you approve the cards. Still, it's the best I've found and I highly recommend it.

Kind of poor. I have had mixed results. Almost every card needs to be corrected after scanning. About a third of the cards scanned are mostly OK but need a tweak to fix a phone number or URL. About a third need multiple fields fixed and the last third are unreadable due to dark or photographic backgrounds. On the majority of the cards that need tweaking the interface is kind of poor. Even with default set to USA it shows Provinces and Postal Codes instead of State and ZIP Codes. When default is set to USA it should show the numeric keyboard for ZIP Codes instead of the alpha. It also defaults to sentence case, it should default to title case for alpha fields. It is better than the USB slide scanner I tried last year but I am sure there is something better out there for the iPhone.

Excellent app. Good ocr scan reliability.. This is an excellent app with good ocr scan reliability. I use it immediately when I receive a card... often I hand the card right back, which always induces a smile and light conversation with new business contacts.

Almost Perfect!. I have been using business card scanners, most with little more than a modicum of satisfaction or success for a few years and hence, usually relegated the task to an intern or just let the cards pile up. Imagine my surprise when my daughter turned me on to this app that I have to say has been a great find. Granted it has its share of blemishes, but it is 90% of the way there. Now the cards get "scanned" into my Outlook file and "BAM" are immediately in my phone and laptop. Like most things in life, it's not perfect but, it is quantum leaps ahead of where I was.

A great app. I tried different biz card apps before but was disappointed with all of them until I came across this one. It records most biz cards info accurately and I don't need to make too many changes. Thanks!

Just plain works. Lots of crappy business card scanners out there... but this isn't one of them! I seldom have any issues with it. Scans accurately even when the card has lots of graphics. I don't think you'll regret buying it!

Top Notch App. I have been using this app for over two years now and I love it. Saves so much time from entering contact info. Some business cards are harder for it to read but for the most part it it highly accurate. You will not disappointed.

Secretly misses things and you're left w/o a contact. I loved this app the first months using it. Best thing since sliced bread. Then I noticed in emailing a cool biz prospect I met at an event, the email bounced back. Carefully checking the address, I realized the small font used on most well designed biz cards cannot be trusted w/this app. It thought an "i" was a lower case "L" for example. Then I double checked the other 8 cards I'd just entered w/this app n was horrified to see this was happening often! Omg, this means all the key business prospects I thought I now could reach out to were possibly useless since I chuck the cards after entering them! Will never use this app again! What's the point if your have to comb over every digit hyper carefully to make sure it's right? Faster to just hand enter. Shame. Loved the ease of it; but trust is not 100%, and I can't work w/that. I only collect cards of very important people I MUST have correct info for!

Easy as it gets! I almost want to give the card back to the person!. This AP is super simple. Nothing like saving hours of typing 3 dozen trade show business cards into your database! I use the cards simply to remind me of my notes and first planned step with each prospect client. Massive time saver.

Scans are good but not perfect. Usually good but when a company name is part of an image or logo then the software does not pick this up. It would be possible to correlate this with the email address of the card holder which often contains the company name to resolve the issue

Good. It gets the job done; but sometimes it reads the card and capitalizes where there is no capitalization on the card. Needs a little tweaking, but it gets the job done

Just got a free app. This is nothing special.. Text that is perfectly clear black on white text on in on the card is misread. It misspelled the main word, locksmith. It has no spell correction so I had to type most the words in myself. Updating after a few months and I am just used to having to correct extremely common words from nonexistent words. I use a free app and it works the same. I expected that one word would be incorrect not so many of them. A lot of the phone numbers are weird and that it will start on the third or second digit instead of the first digit. It is as if the first characters don't exist. But I do like about this app is the way to get text before the draft. You press the button and when it feels that has the right call the image it takes the picture. One improvement I would suggest is to take three quick pictures and use all three in comparison to do better character recognition. Since this works about the same as the other two apps I have downloaded I will go ahead and use it a while and then use another and then use another and keep reviewing and hoping that somebody improves the process.

Where’s the old ui.. Not sure I like this new ui. Apple auto correct is a pain in this app. Old version did not allow autocorrect for suggestions. This takes up too much of the screen. Update. The function to upload to your contacts is broken. I hate this app. I want a refund.

Outstanding App!. This app does about as good a job as I think is possible. When I get a business card, I take a shot of the card, and it populates my contacts. Occasionally I will make a few corrections, but it works great for me. I highly recommend this app for professionals.

No more lost info. The app is not perfect but 90% of the time it works great. People that have artsy or complex business cards need some more review to make sure the numbers and information is in the right place. Basic business cards work really well. I don't have to worry about losing a business card. A quick snapshot, quick review and I have what I need.

A great application. I use it a lot, it puts contacts where they should be. You need to check the scans though, sometimes it doesn't read the card correctly. But it is a great time saver.

Are the good reviews fake?!. Generally poor text recognition on the majority of scanned cards, and it seems that I can only back up the business card data if I use their paid subscription service, even after paying $3.99 ... my experience is so different from the good ratings that I’m either doing something completely wrong, or these good ratings are totally counterfeit

Convenient, Easy to Use, Worth it (when it worked). This app was excellent when I first began using it a couple years ago- but slowly it became an ever-increasing issue of mistranslations, reverse digits for numbers, and/or completely nonsensical name/title placement. At times-depending upon card type- it’s more efficient to manually enter the info. I really do/did enjoy this app and hope it turns around.

Love this app. Daily use.. This has been a great starting point to capture a card. People are adding much more creativity to their cards so I'm glad to see this app get updated. I have about 80% success rate. I have to edit about 20% before hitting save currently. Much better than anything else.

Smartcard. Is that just a great job of capturing the photo and information uploading it into my contacts and making it easy to make changes if there is a mistake. I have use this app for years and enjoy it.

Cathimn. Great app. I’ve used this app for several years. It has definitely improved over time. I just snap a photo of a card, confirm the data, and have it sent to my contact list.

What happened? This is becoming a bait and switch.. This suddenly became a monthly subscription? What happened? I bought the pro version but today when I opened this app, suddenly everything looked very different, and it said it’s now a monthly subscription. I got into settings, under subscription there is something about how to cancel the subscription, I however cannot do that following the instruction. Besides, I never bought a monthly subscription to begin with. This is becoming a bait and switch fraud now.

Awesome!. I use to enter contact information manually and store all cards on a binder. With SamCard that is no longer necessary. From all the card I have been giving so far only one card was not recognized. Which was not a surprise, the card was a really bad home made Busines card. Now the rest of the business cards I am averaging only a 5% of them that I have to do some minor editing. SamCard is giving me a success rate with no editing of 95% just take a shot and save..!!

Easy to use, 85% accurate. This app is easy to use, read most cards with 85% accuracy. I find myself reviewing the information and making a few corrections. Sometimes when saving the information it creates two contacts... but overall does what I need.

Moonwalking. Somehow this update eliminates the u”combining into Outlook contacts. This means and cards added force you to look at their app rather than outlook contacts as the central source. This eliminates the core use for me as I would have to double enter new contact information. Bummer (it was really useful in the previous form).

Easy way to keep contacts.... The value of this application is I can store the info right when I get a card. I can add comments in the notes section, save the data in my contact list and from there have the ease of staying in touch with the person I met and felt it was important enough to get their card in the first place. I have also seen the person pleased to see their info was of value to me. Serves benefits in many ways.

I have now tried many card reading apps and every time dissappointed with the accuracy, sometimes its easier to write directly into the contacts and save the editing time , this app l think so far has the accuracy and ease of use l have been looking for, hope it keeps on approving with time

It really works. Being a frustrated, time strapped, procrastinator, it is good to have this program to enter business cards. Now as I'm sitting waiting for an airplane I scan in the days cards. It drives me crazy when I miss one now. 95% accurate even with foreign names.

My Goto app for business card capture. I have been using this app for about 6 months and rate it very highly. We are all getting more time poor, so have a simple, effortless and automated way to capture the volume of business card I receive, is a major value contributor.

Good but upgrade has spoilt it. Unable to save cards anymore. Keeps giving errors. Quite disappionted. Was working well with most cards but now every different type gives me same error. Please fix the bug.

Fantastic app. I bought this app quite some time ago and never actually used it, until last week. I had a thick bunch of business cards which i wanted to enter in my Contacts. Then i remembered this app - and - wow, what a time saver it is. I still had check the errors and correct some minor ones (mostly because of some very strange card designs) manually, but in 90% of the scans all was entered correctly. Highly recommended.

Manager Structures group.. This is such a great tool giving me the ability organise, and make immediately available, my contacts information in what previously got missed in hectic daily activities.

Good & Bad. Quite good OCR Pressing DONE twice becomes a nuisance - both buttons (if necessary) should work the same... BIG PROBLEM is upgrading for $5.49 and STILL unable to save more cards - not good! Tried kill & relaunch - upgrade says 'installed' so it just took my money... Story So far.

Great App. I've been using this app for about 12 months now and it's great. If the cards are busy with information and colour sometimes you have to go back in to add a bit here and there but all in all its fantastic and so worth it.

Hidden ongoing fees. Having used another version of this app and found it good, I got hornswaddled into this subscription service of this version. Unnecessary. Expensive. Cannot work out how to cancel subscription.

Average at best. Estimated 80% accuracy rate and corrections take longer than typing. No option to select "Australian" setting to accommodate mailing formats, etc. but still will sell it in Australia ... Greedy people want the money but won't do the work to earn it.

Best Business Card Scanning App on the App Store. I have used other apps like this before this one, but the easy integration with Mail, Exchange and Contacts makes this a winner. Sometimes the OCR is off but editing is quick. Could still use some polish in the formatting as it's displayed in the app itself, but it somehow comes out looking good in other apps. Highly Recommended!

It. It is a grate SamCard reader for me. 100% accuracy & very speed reader. This app automatically detact text & can rotate scanned image with this app. This app supported many languages so easy to use this app for me.

Good and helpful. The app works well except for foreign (non-English) addresses. Cities and zip codes typically require manual adjustment. However overall it is very helpful for someone who gets new business cards frequently.

Similar Apps from Dev. This app developer has a few business card scanner apps with similar description of use. Not sure which functions better but noticed that this is also similar to Foxcard Pro in terms of functionality and app layout.

Mostly Good. I use the app on a daily basis. The only thing that bothers me is it sometimes reads the cards wrong. If the card isn't a common format, it gets a little confused. I have to manually add information. Other than that, I like it.

Da....Review. Not 100% perfect, since a lot of business cards are filled with BS graphics, etc. but I am consistently amazed at the information it IS able to correctly extract from a wide variety of business cards.

Works good but...... Have used without problems for a couple of years. Lately it doesn’t transfer the information to my address book. The update may need me to adjust some settings OR they want me to pay the $2.99 MONTHLY Fee.

Indispensable. Amazing application. Just used this to enter a whole contact list of names and addresses. Very efficient and easy. Tech support was incredibly fast, friendly and helpful

Owner. This a wonderful tool for me...this has been the best card reader I've used. It translates the image to a useable contact page with little editing.

Excellent app. Only issue I have is that I work a car dealership and cannot scan cards due to everyone having the same phone number. Don't want to keep going in and changing info

Years of use. This so had saved me so much time it's amazing. Even if it happens to get org wrong, the info is there and I sorry it out later, though this is rare. Highly recommend

Only Okay. This app is fine. It mostly does what it says it will, but often fails to properly recognize and categorize data. It also mashes initials into the first and last names. That said, it really does work more often than not and it is still a huge time saver vs manual entry.

Super easy!. So happy to get rid of all my contractor business cards! And now I always have them with me & can forward them to others.

Works great. I did some research and this app works well and save you a lot of time. Small correction is needed but not on all cards. I have already recommended this app to other people within sales.

Good App for Business Cards. It's a good app to take a pix of business cards and add the to your contacts. Some business cards need to be modified as the cards layouts are not consistent. Saves a lot of input time!

Best Contact Card Entry Ever. Tried many different apps. This one reads accurate and gives options to correct poor card info.

Easy Entry and Storage. Auto fill is awesome and makes entering cards easy. So far feel it was worth the $.99. Hope my clients will appreciate it as well. :)

It works. I've been using this app for years. I input all my business cards quickly and easily into my iPhone. Get it, you won't be disappointed.

Organization Machine. Helps get rid of clutter and if you’re anything like me you’re gong to forget about or lose the card any way.

Good. It has been very helpful and fairly consistent. Sometimes things land in the wrong lines and it takes me a while to move them around. Otherwise I would've given it more.

Decent App. Overall a decent card reader but can struggle with "unique" business card designs. Timesaver but make sure you quality check info after photo.

Yet, another app that was good and now wants to grab your information!. This was a cool and useful app, but now it want to store the card in the app/cloud which makes no sense ! How many apple do I need to manage my contacts ?! ONE! and that the phones Contacts app! They should keep it simple ....take a picture, scan it, store the contact in the contacts app! That it !

Do not use this app - no longer works. This business card scanner no longer works. It’s terrible. Locks up all the time. I used this app for several years. I had dozens of cards scanned in my database. After struggling to get it to work samPro techs recommended I remove and re-install the app. All my stored business cards have been erased and not reloaded once the app was reinstalled. I give up. This app has become junk.

SamCard works fine could be a bit more accurate. I’ve saved maybe a couple of hours using this app and will continue to use it.

Great time saver!. This app is amazing! A great time saver. It quickly and reliably interprets business cards and uploads them to your contact manager seamlessly. You are wasting valuable time if you don't have this app!

Production Manager. I have using this application for a while and have pretty good results and would recommend to anyone trying to reduce paper in their life.

New version. Does not work as it did I use the paid version, and after upgrade the whole thing got disfunctional. Pitty !!!!

Must have app. Saves so much time typing all the info in. You have to make some quick changes but takes less than 10 seconds

Surprised How Good. I’ve try these business card to contact list conversions previously and was disappointed. Sam Pro works great. I highly recommend it.

Accurate Card Reader. Has trouble with a few of the goofier fonts, but overall one of the better card scanning apps I've used.

Pretty easy and effective. It'd be even better if it flagged things it was not sure of but for the most part it gets all the information accurately. I appreciate that it syncs with my contacts and also stores an image of the card in the event there is a concern.

Love it. Love this app. It saves so much time versus manually entering all they contact info. You will l always need to make sitter it picked up the card info correctly especially when the card is busy.

Perfect app to snap cards.. So great. It's definitely the best card reader I've ever used. Super easily to snap the card and print out those data on the card which is so nice and convenient!

Samcard more accurate than many others like camcard. I've found that I have much more success with this app getting accurate data read from the scans!

Awesome app. This app is very good. Excellent for my business use. Straight forward and very accurate. I like the way it integrates with my email contacts. Worth the money.
