Johns Hopkins Antibiotic Guide Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Mobile app. Great resource for antibiotic mgt and stewardship. I don’t regret my purchase of this and it’s been over 8 years now.

How to turn off auto update?. Account settings were well hidden. The option to turn off auto update is not available. Please fix. Thank you

Do not buy this. They want you to pay again for the same material after an ios update. They should not be allowed in the app store. Arrogant developer. They put the venerable institution of Hopkins to shame.

Caution: Editing content doesn’t work and free trial is bait and switch. This is a clinical only focus that ignores major disciplines in medical education...for example pharmacology. Kind of shocking. Poor design and although there was to be a month free trial my card was charged and can’t figure out how to cancel.

Well worth every penny. I work as an ID fellow and I wouldn’t be able to survive fellowship without this app. It’s essentially an ID textbook available at your fingertips. It works very well and updates constantly to give the latest info possible. I plan to re-up every year!!!

Excellent point-of-care app!. As a family practitioner, I use this nearly every day in my practice. It is invaluable, easy to navigate, and up-to-date. The selected drug comments are helpful, and sometimes (intentionally) funny. I recommend this to all my colleagues.

App separate. Hoped I could link this with computer link. But can’t use my JHH password so it doesn’t flow.

Pharmacist. Great resource, love being able to index from bugs as well as drugs. Like that the recommendations reference literature and guidelines and to them.

Excellent source for a Hospitalist. It’s a life saver

Unable to speak to a live agent. I am giving you a 1 star because I can’t go lower. I have been trying to reach someone about my account. It is very difficult to reach you!! It appears no one is trying to reach out to me!!!! I do not understand the billing process. My service was discontinued for what appeared to be non payment but I don’t understand why since it was paid. Then I renewed the subscription and they are now advising again, account needs to be paid. The only reason why I renewed while I was unhappy and questioned the billing process was due to the app was extremely helpful with my daily practice. I am seeking to find other apps and afterward, I will look into your business practice to see if something nefarious is going or if it’s something wrong on my side.

No registration. Poor sign on - paid the yearly fee but no place in the app I can register and get a password to go on my pc to sign up. Also cannot access specific details of antibiotics recommended at this point.

Be careful. For you to try it out have to commit with a subscription, they should let you try it and if you like it well buy the subscription, they are betting you forget to cancel the subscription

Cancel. I have no use for this and request full refund. Thanks A. Ramani

Best Antibiotics Resource. I have used this app extensively since becoming an NP. I find it very valuable and useful I plan to purchase every year. Very easy to use.

App not compatible with iOS 11. I also had purchased the apps separately. Including Diabetes now unable to view as it says not compatible. These apps need to be updated for this version

Hopkins guide is a Great companion. Very helpful. Been in practice for over 11 years. John Hopkins guide is my best friend. I use it in fellowship and later in practice!

Do not use unbound. I have had many of their products in last few years at about 60 an app. iOS 11 comes along and they are the ONLY app publisher that didn’t update their product to work in iOS 11. Their solution - rebuy every app to the updated iOS app. I bought the standalone non subscription app to prevent downstream costs with a huge upfront cost. Egg on my face huh. Unbound had 2 years to update all their apps but chose to gouge their customer base! ——- I did contact customer service and heir response, buy the new app at full cost, not a solution that works for me

Fantastic. Quick and full of relevant pinpoint information at your fingertips.

Very big let down. After having owned their products for years they got greedy! After making me pay a large up front fee to own the content they stopped updating their product and deleted it from the App Store! Only problem, now all iOS 11 users can use the products they previously bought and what’s worse, now I have to rebuy access to a new app! Really? What a disappointment!!!

Awesome app, 100% recommended. I use the antibiotic guide. Love it and use it multiple times a day. A necessary part of my practice. Clear, concise, and up to date with great practical clinical information. 100% recommend this app.

Trashy company. I’ve bought this app twice and now they broke the app again so I’ll pay a yearly subscription of 30 bucks. I do not recommend.

Accessible and informative. I found this app very helpful and handy. It’s like one stop shop. Simple but covers everything you need to know for a new NP like me.

Great Application!. Thanks for such an amazing clinical tool.

Love it. Love this app. Got the entire bundle after using the Antibiotic guide. Quick, to the point and exactly what I need.

Unscrupulous businesses practices. The developer keeps on charging money for the updated versions of this app. They should have the decency of providing the newer version of the app for free to the customers who have paid already. I have paid for the versions of this app twice already, and will no pay any more. I will not recommend this app.

Can’t log into my account. There is a glitch in this app because I switched phone but it won’t let me log into my account. It is making me create a new one and buy it’s subscription again

Hopkins apps. I think the ABX and HIV apps are great. But my complaint is that I cannot have it loaded on both my iPhone and iPad at the same time. I hope this policy is changed. I know it has discouraged some of my colleagues from using it.

Only one complaint. Great content. My only complaint is not allowing subscribers access from more than one mobile device. I can't use the app on my iPad and iPhone unless I buy 2 separate subscriptions.

Disappointed. This was my go to app for an antibiotic quick guide for several years. I use date my iPhone and suddenly I need to rebuy the content I’ve already purchased. No app update without paying for what I’ve already bought. Very disappointed. Will use alternative resources from now on.

Best ID app and reference to date. I have been a large fan of the Hopkins antibiotic guide for years. The recommendations are evidence based and clinically relevant. Stanford guide is significantly inferior to this guide. Online content for hopkins guide is similar to the app and included in cost of subscription. I recommend this app to all clinical pharmacists, pharmacists, and residents.

Boxed Out?. I bought the App and really enjoyed using it for reference. Then when the app required updating I was forced to get a new version of the app (rather than update my older one) and now it requires another purchase. This is a pet-peeve of mine. Essentially forces me into paying twice. Happy to hear feedback and a solution from the developer if you have one.

My go to app as an ID fellow. I use this app all the time for specific HIV mutations. It also gives me quick easy to see dosing in a friendly interface. If I had to improve this app I would include pearls about antibiotic choices and community resistance. This program would be much more robust if you could input your regional antibiogram so that the antibiotic choices that are more effective would be highlighted. Great presentation.

Excellent antibiotic app. Easy to use and has the antibiotic info I need in practice

Best Clinical ID Resource. As an ID pharmacist and Antimicrobial Stewardship Coordinator, I use this reference daily and absolutely love it. It is the most current, comprehensive, practical, and evidence/guideline-based ID resource I have found. It even gives you that extra, more in-depth information that you so often need as to rationale of recommendations or pearls of useful practical info. Quality content combined with ease of use from my iPhone during rounds makes this resource completely indispensable. I went ahead and got the whole bundle because when I need HIV information (which isn't all that often in my 200-bed community hospital) I need the latest, and I need it at my fingertips. It has saved me valuable "looking-up" time everytime I have used it. It is well worth the money.

Very reliable. I use this app every day. I love that the content is updated frequently.

Indispensable. ... but obviously does not preclude your clinical judgment. I use this as a quick point of care reference for the sake of confirmation/clarification, renal dose adjustment, etc. Not a replacement for primary literature or clinical good clinical acumen - but you already knew that.

They will rip you off!. Paid tons of money for apps and then after iOS 11.... wouldn’t update.... they said if was apples fault.... but every other app updates. Shame on them...

Excellent experience. I had never before had to call with help for the products since owning them for years until now. The prompt response was unprecedented compared to other services I’ve used; the experience, knowledge and efficiency of service provided was great. By the way the experience using chat and telephone calls were phenomenal. Great job.

Great App. As a clinical pharmacist, I use this app daily to help make decisions on difficult cases. I love the "selected drug comments" section at the end of each infection page, very good information. Not all inclusion but a great place to start. Also a great resource for pharmacy and medical residents.

Used daily in residency. I use this app on a daily basis during my internal medicine residency. I have tried Sanford Guide as well and find this easier to use an more informative with small clinical management details. Wish they would list abx rather than having them in folders - hard to quickly find some of the more obscure abx hiding in "other pcn" etc.

Physician. I could not go one day with out this app. It's so informative and always up to date. I recommend this app to all my colleagues .

Best ID resource. I am an ID specialist and use this app daily in my clinical practice. My only complaint is that content is often not current.

Excellent app with great cs. This app is useful, good ui, and great support. I had trouble signing in on a new iPad because I installed the app on my previous one. A two minutes called solved that problem!

HIV guide subscriptions issue. I already brought the HIV guide as an extra subscription add on THE antibiotic guide But I couldn’t access it either through APP OR WEBSITE

excellent app. Lots of helpful information, easy to find what you need. Highly recommended.

Diabetes. Excellent. Continue your good work. I have a lot of diabetic patients.

Very disappointed. No update for iPhone or iPad. This app was my go to in my profession.

Blank. Shows blank text. Content doesn’t load.

Lousy business practices. I use the Hopkins antibiotic guide regularly. I updated my work phone and no dice. Now I cannot restore my purchase in this new app. Thankfully I have another device that I’m not updating.

Excellent. Easy, complete and up to date. Love it. I have Sanford Guide too, but Hopkins is easier to navigate.

A great clinical tool. Complète but efficient !

ABX Antibiotic Guide. I purchased this respected app only to find out after it's purchase that it has removed Pediatric dosages. What were the developers thinking? The purpose of an Antibiotic Guide should be it's comprehensive database. Had I known of this glaring omission, I would have passed on my decision to purchase!

Disappointment. Same exact as previous comment. No solution than to quit trying & find another provider.

Interesting. Got it through my hospital. No pediatric dosage, and some mistakes here and there, but overall interesting app.

Don't trust them. I bought the full version of the abx guide a few years back at a considerable expense and all of a sudden the company decided to lock the app and switch to a subscription model. They blame iOS 11, except I'm still running iOS 9 and it's clear that it's just an excuse. Their support staff offer 1 year free, but offer no other solution. They are punishing the early adopters of the app. You can offer subscription for updates, I can understand that, but to lock the use of the old version of the app after one purchases it, leaves me with no confidence in this company. I don't want the free 1 year offer, you just lost my business forever.

Très pratique. Super application , simple et efficace !

No free content. Requires you to buy a subscription as soon as program loads.

Great. Love it !!

Excellent reference. Excellent reference source for ID queries.

Pharmacist. A great ID product

Limited. Fabulous content but I was shocked to find I could use the app on only 1 device at a time. Now that I have a new iPhone, and my app is on the old iPhone I cannot access the app I paid for. I find this insulting

Great. Easy to navigate & helpful.

Clinical Guides. Helpful clinical guides for antibiotic therapy, HiV and diabetes. Useful for clinicians.

Very informative and easy to use. I love this app

ABX guide. Very concise and full of information. Never go to the grand round without it.

Johns Hopkins abx guide. Amazing guide. It has all that I need for good antibiotic management. Will totally recommend it.

Irreplaceable. Wish I could take with me to boards

HIV app needs update!. HIV guide is good, but not as helpful as the Hopkins general ID app. No interaction checker. Also, it's missing dolutegravir/ Stribild, which was FDA approved in 2012.

Use it all the time. I'm an inpatient hospitalist, it's quite helpful.

Horrid support. Reset password multiple times and it still fails to recognize it. Called for help and of course no is available. They will call back within the next 24 hours. Isn't that lovely. If you can get to app to work its great But what good is an inaccessible app?

This is not the app. This is actually not the john's Hopkins abx app. It costs $30. This is just a suite if you buy the apps.

Great resource. I use daily as an Adult Hospitalist. Wonderful app!!

Best product available for ID in a great format. A+

MD. Excellent resource, up to date with ID. I found this indispensable.

Great!. Very useful app on the go.

Number one ID app.. Better than All other apps for infectious disease and anti biotic reference

Hopkins abx guide. Excellent resource- my go to source for all thing antibiotic related.

The Best. Best antibiotic app available, beats out Epocrates for everything involved with antibiotics and bugs!

NP. A great resource!!!

great all-around app. awesome

A. Raquel Mateo-Bibeau MD. Excellent application, incredibly helpful! I use it on a daily basis.

Excellent resource. Can't imagine working without it.

Amazing app. Excellent app for clinicians. They should come up with more guides on other specialties.

Be aware once they have your card info they will charge you.... Information in this applet is the same as everywhere else on the Internet...Save your money...

Best antimicrobial information out there. Great stuff!

Must have app. Great app for all the residents.

MLacy MD. Allow for users to insert their own notes into the pages

Good app. Very useful app & easy to navigate.

Needed!!. This app it's essential. I just finished residency and did two ID rotations. What I found out is that this app helped me shine and ultimately made me feel confident.

Best ID application. Best ID app on the market

Hopkins Guide. Very practical and helpful on a day to day basis.

PA. Very helpful, quick and easy

Go-to App for fast recommendations. JH is my first choice for antimicrobial recommendations for hospitalized & ambulatory patients. A must-have for hospital medicine.

Good app. I have used stafford in the past and this app had better flow of information that is needed. Prelim eval of this app is quite positive and have no hesitation to repurchase

Hospitalist NP. The most comprehensive ID source i've ever seen.

Excelente. O sanford é um otimo aplicativo, porém este aplicativo é excelente, muito melhor e completo. Falta estrela para gradua-lo

Unable to transfer app from android to apple.. Is there a way or do I need to repurchase. That would be a bummer.

Susan V. Lipton, MD, MPH. As a pediatric ID fellow, I carried around The Red Book (AAP Infectious Diseases Guidelines) to have a quick reference and not sound stupid. Now, as a Peds ID division chief and senior faculty, as well as chief of Maryland AAP section on ID, I carry the Hopkins antibiotic guide with me instead. Way superior to other guidelines, updated constantly, but the best part is that it’s original source referenced for every disease, pathogen, anti microbial. Instead of welcome bling, I want my department to give each incoming intern a 3 year subscription to this essential reference.

Great ID app. Very useful for daily anti microbial decisions. Readable content, well organized.

Excellent. Excellent

Great app. Best ID handbook on the App Store.

Great for quick reference. Use it everyday

Bait and switch. The app store stated this app was free. The full app needs to be purchased before use. No test drives. Another bait and switch.

ABX guide. This is a nice, easy go-to guide while in clinic working at a fast pace. It's not the most comprehensive but covers the basics concisely.

Best resource available!. Very useful quick reference during residency and currently ID fellowship!

Great abx guide. Well done. Very user friendly with great tx suggestions.

Essential app for all physicians.. Easy to use app with the most authoritative single reference on infectious diseases and their treatment.
