Annoying ads. Recently it has startedd showing an ad screen that fully covers the screen and completely freezes for few seconds. Only after 4-5 seconds it allows to close the ad. This is really annoying and takes all interest out from the main article.

Obscene photos. Is it a news channel or porn mag? They keep putting obscene, nude inappropriate pics or stories of celebrities for no reason whatsoever which, may be, a small section of perverts might enjoy putting them there or browsing through. Every time you go to photo section you find these stupid captions .., she bares it all or her bold avatar or similar. Don’t you have anything else to put except this crap which most don’t enjoy. It’s becoming a trashy app.

Prayagraj listed as “Allahabad” under city news section. It’s been a year or two since Prayagraj is the official name of this ancient city & NOT Allahabad. Why hasn’t it been changed yet in TOI website and the app? In the city news section, where there is list of cities, the name of this city is incorrect. Respect the sentiments of the majority of Indians & make the correction. In the list of cities for city news, change Allahabad to Prayagraj. Don’t write a developer response asking me to email you when you know what needs to be done.

Settings change every time updated. It’s actually a pretty good app, with a decent interface and thorough news coverage. But one thing that bugs me is EVERY time the app updates, my notification settings are reset and I am logged out of my account! Please fix this!

Annoying advertisements. I have been using this application since 4 years and have always liked it. But in the recent times, there are too many advertisements which don't let me read the articles properly. It's very annoying when you're reading something and the advertisement video keeps covering your screen. I would request the developers to kindly look into this matter seriously.

App focussed on showing Ads more than news. The experience using this app over a couple of years now has been very disappointing. For every tap or scroll, there is an Ad. The basic idea of unbiased news delivery is completely overthrown by this app for the greed of making money. I understand that Ads are important for revenue generation, but this app exceed all the limits in a bad way. Time to switch to a better app.

Magic screen. You are reading a article and all sorts of magic happens on the screen. The screen resizes, flash the screen, tries to load the ads ... I just use my thumb and swipe up ... peace ✌️ switch to other publishers. The screen should be still when reading a article. It’s been more than a couple of years I submitted the prev comments still no action.

News about taimur, sex and orgasms. The real news is usually very limited and after the first few headlines and advertisements they have a huge section of ‘entertainment’. It seems that they have a reporter sitting in kareena’s family who makes sure that you get to know the latest about taimur. And then they will occasionally update articles about how to have better sex and keep it there for ages. And yes as mentioned in the other reviews, they do have a lot of soft porn images.

Polluted rivers.. I do appreciate the news and analysis given in Times application. They are short but thorough and that I never get on any tv news channels. I always completely go through it when I open my iPad. I simply love it.

Leading newspaper to Spyware station!. Being readers since many years I still believe, this is one of the very few newspapers that can be relied upon for authentic news! So i was kind of ignoring those dirty glamour pics that cross lines into obscenity sometimes! Lately, the spywares and malware are big issue even for a latest iphone users. I have to regularly delete and download the app, so it doesn’t get hang!! Soon i might need to switch other newspapers that is safe for the phone. Why so desparate about revenues !!! Just look at any usa or western based news website , and see if they bombard their viewers with such ads and spyware and paid obscene pics of cheap filmy stars!!

Empires & Puzzles ad is spoiling reader experience!!. I enjoyed the experience of the Times of India app until recently, even not minding when ads would pop up, but last couple of weeks there has been an Empires and Puzzles game ad that pops up as a full screen and has a countdown for the ‘X’ button but no amount of hitting that button takes the ad down to return to the news sections. You have to shutoff the app and let it be idle for god knows how long. My husband actually just deleted the app after a few times this happened and I am now looking to find alternatives. This is not right and the app developers are not fully testing to make sure readers enjoy the experience. Please fix it or you will lose more readers.

Something went wrong - never loads. Worst update. I used to occasionally get something went wrong, n doing a pull to refresh would make it go away earlier; but now I see that forever. Sure last couple of days, nothing loads with spinners everywhere. Tried reinstalling the app, but no change. Can’t imagine such unreliable app in today’s day and age.

Live feed not working. It is a pretty good app but recently when you click on the live news- the page does not display. There is no option to refresh also.

Pop up ads that occupy the whole screen. The pop up ads are so intrusive that I’m considering deleting the app on my phone. Some ads once in a while was ok but the new feature of popping up and occupying the full screen while reading an article or looking at the list of articles is beyond annoying. Enough for users to stop using the app.

App wise great! Few enhancements. Have been using over 3-4 yrs, love the app and content. Few enhancements : - Few old stories keep appearing, so if we can swipe out any news which we dnt wanna see will be great. -Defense category can be added with more content around. Passionate/Nationalist folks love this section and want to be up to date. - if sections can collapse and expand, for eg if I dnt wanna read business or entertainment news right now I shud be able to collapse the entire section. - city region location shud be a manual parameter too overriding the auto detected location, as for few they sit in delhi but if auto location tags them to chennai , their app gets flooded with chennai local news which is not very desirable :) . Technically very very rarely crashes, which is abs fine. Just look into few videos taking some extra time… loved the new video format Taking near to TikTok, will engage lot of folks, great! I have few other ideas/bugs please contact me over email if interested.

Too Many Ads now. The app used to be good and my prime app for Indian news.. however off late it has too many ads on iOS version.. sometimes cover the full screen and sometimes part of the screen and the X button does not work to remove the ad overimposed window to read the news underneath it... Sorry, will have to uninstall now.. I downloaded it to see the news and not struggle with Ad windows..👋👋👋 and after taking TOI + subscription, each and every link of news takes 10-15 seconds to load!!!.. if I sign out of TOI+ , the same news links load up instantly.. reported this issue to the helpdesk and also shared screen recording of the same.... THEY CASUALLY RESPONDED TO JUST UPDATE THE APP!! When I reverted back that this problem is persisting in both the old as well as current version and is linked to TOI+ login.. still NO action taken for over a month citing COVID delays !!!😮😮

Does not meet apple quality standards. This app does not meet the quality standards one expects from apps on the Apple App Store. Firstly, when typing in a text box (such as writing a comment on an article), it does not autocorrect spelling mistakes. Secondly, it constantly logs the user out.. why do I need to sign in every time I launch the app and try to post something? Sub par development team, and sub par supervision of dev team. Also, they do not seem to learn from the reviews other users are leaving.. so no desire to improve either. This app should not be successfully passing through Apples vetting process.

Ads popping up. I have been using the app for years now but from past few days I see Ads suddenly pop up and some of them have audio and makes it difficult to use.

Do not fall to left trap. I had been following and reading news about india from its app and site, but based on my analysis and experience I realized this channel is totally biased and left based, it only covers and publishes news which conforms to their ideology/agenda instead of being unbiased about news. You think it’s neutral but slowly you will realize and see what they are feeding you, only one side of news are shown, so that they can suppress actual issues and misguide masses. DO NOT FOLLOW OR DOWNLOAD THIS APP. try to find the truth from internet than relying on news from this channel

Poor Service. I have annual subscription to TOI. But I have yet to be able to read any article that show up under (TOI+), for which pne needs to have subscription. Every time I have tried to log into my acct. their system has been down. So waste of money! Don’t subscribe to it

TOI+ subscription not working. I subscribed to TOI+ for a year and suddenly the app started showing ads. I tried to restore purchases but keep seeing a message that the subscription has expired. I checked my iCloud account for current subscriptions and TOI+ is showing as active in the account. Please fix this issue. Edit: app update has fixed TOI+

Disgusting and dated ideology. I downloaded this app just so I could share this. I somehow stumbled upon a “celebrity bikini body” slideshow that linked me to this app as theirs. Whoever writes their captions should be absolutely ashamed of themselves and fired on the spot. The way they unjustly criticize womens (perfectly fine btw) bodies is harsh, dated, and perpetuating unhealthy and dangerous diet culture standards that leads to dismorphia, self hate, and eating disorders especially in young girls. I’ve noticed many tabloids getting better about this, but I feel like I just stepped in a time machine to 2007. I can’t tell if the writer is a frumpy old man or a woman who is victim to it herself. Unacceptable. Do better.

Worst News Company. Was an avid reader but since few months the quality of journalism has gone pathetically down. Recently there were lot of problems between India and China, due to which lots of people stopped buying chinese products or apps, but TOI has not stopped marketing the Chinese products. Sometimes its very important to look for what the people of your country want, it cannot always be business. Hence I am looking for some better news app.

Bug in videos. 1) play a video 2) pause 3) play another video from the list below the player 4) if ad starts playing, skip it 5) video starts playing but the player controls are not functional.

Too many Ads. I think the TOI group thinks people are desperate for their news articles when there are so many choices, the desperate attempt to get so many adverts is not pleasing at every scroll I understand this business depends on adverts to run their business, surely there is someone in their group who is creative to come up a innovative way to drive this revenue. I would suggest they look at how American company’s manage this aspect With these ads what they are simply doing is discouraging readers from viewing their platform

App is not working as expected. Application is freezing when opening any news and come back on main screen. User need to close the application and open it again. I tried to post comment on App Support, there also I couldn’t click Post Comment button even after filling all details. It seems all broken in app.

too many weird ads and almost everything is TOI+. your ad provider needs to get better ads , most ads are gross and irritating most good articles now have become paid via TOI+ too much greed from TOI making me look elsewhere 3 stars still due to some reasonable content

Front page a shame to open at office/home. Happy with content but the Bollywood and other bikini stuffs at front page is always a bad moment when trying to open in office or at home infront of kids. Have it but just a click away and not on front page. I do get the TRP part of it but I don’t see the same in other online international online news paper. Hence feel it is doable.

Easiest news source to share , great source of international news. A good model for other news sources dropped the word search puzzle so had to delete app

Ads pop up in between when you scroll through the headlines. I have been using this app for a while , I do understand why ads are needed however with the new release , it has messed up user experience . It’s very irritating when you want to scroll through the headline , ad pop up coz of the layout change development team did with recent upgrade. Worst user experience with the new version. Thank you Apple!. Can’t believe that a once-upon-a-time prestigious newspaper like the times of India needs to resort to porn and semi nude pictures in order to earn readership. Also hate that they harp too much on negative news, most of it that is not even necessary to share as news!! I wish there is more positive news which actually will help to increase the faith of our people in themselves as well as a nation. The media can play a major role in educating, improving the pulse of the nation.

Bizarre ads all over. So many ads about ‘sad news confirmed about xyz’ .... all of which looks suspiciously like news items. This entire news feed is full of Clickbait. I find it so bothersome to scroll through it to find out good news articles. Also, interspersed our ads for people who need donations for medical conditions. I cannot tell if this is also Clickbait or real. What has happened to the proud Times of India paper that I use read as a young person.??

Option to skip specific contents. I dont want to see some of the useless news contents about things like what Rakhi Savant is upto and the likes. I wish your app offered an option for it. Only 10-30% of your contents are on real issues in India. I wish that percentage was higher!

Video articles not working. The app needs a lot of improvement. “Watch” articles which contain a video link or a link to a video on a third party website like Twitter(X) do not work. I can see the text part of the news but the video section is unavailable or covered by ads! Please fix!

Improve your App. Being a reputed newspaper, do you guys not check your own App ?? First of all , your App has multiple same headings , yes , multiple ! Secondly , I don’t know weather your journalist get paid a fixed salary or paid by the length of the article … coz , it seems that the content has the same theme repeated over and over again . Just check your article of today … Prime Minister Modi was against printing 2000 rupee mote … see how many times in that shot topic , the same thing has been repeated … … tell your journalists to grow up from the school level journalism !!!

Cannot recognize that I am a subscriber. This is one of the worst app that I have ever dealt with. I have subscribed to the app for the past several yars and am fully subscribed now. When I try to read a notification, the app takes me to a subscription page asking me to subscribe. After logging in, and half way through the article, the app changes the page and takes me to the subscription page all over again. This keeps happening every time I try to read the article and I never got to read the whole article.

Lack of journalistic ethics. This news org will portray itself as a news provider, however they are opportunistic hyenas playing with the sentiments of the people. They will often take money from shady/dirty celebs involved in sex and drug rackets, go after x employees with a malicious vendetta, and try to pull down other nationalist news portals. They aren’t in sync with the people. The host Navika Kumar was prt of the radia tapes but has the audacity to ruin the good name of a self made news tycoon called Arnab. He is a force to rekon with and TOI can try as hard as it wants, it’s standing in the rain, naked for all Indians to see.

Good balanced articles but too much click bait. Overall I like the app, provides real-time news of India, but not sure why it has to utilise click bait ads (sad news about...). They are really annoying and don’t really add to the reputation of TOI. Please get rid of them.

New update was horrible. I used to like TOI mobile app. I have been using it for last 5-6 years. But lately app was so buggy. App developers messed up big time. So many crashes! Scrolling wasn’t smooth anymore, same sections repeat again and again, indication to show if a story was already read wasn’t working anymore. All and all, app was screwed lately.

Worth to read. I come here for news. It’s the best app! Missed for the exclusive news but paid now and back again. 😊

App is super slow to load. Dear times of India team the app was working fine till last week, just after purchasing the full acres the experience has dipped to a unprecedented level. Even on WiFi the app loads like forever and with the upgrade by Apple not sure what you guys are doing to get it fixed. Please do so ASAP else no use paying for content if cannot be delivered well

Too many ads and junk articles. After almost every 2 news headlines , there is an ad banner. Either that or clickbaits with misleading titles or self-glorifying article or utterly inconsequential celeb related info hyped up and given the importance of national "news". Sad to see what was once considered one of the leading newspapers in the country slowly forget its identity and basics of journalism and descend into such cheap tactics to draw in clicks, admoney and readership.

Worst app in history of mankind. The whole times of india empire is built on advertising. They will do anything for it , including infecting your phone with viruses. Try to go to any page and you will see a page with virus pop up which tracks and infects your phone. They have more advertisements the news on the website and on the application. My only suggestion is never use TOI app or the website.

Greedy for ADS. TOI is the greediest app I feel. They want to capitalize on making money o the Lahr that will get the most number of hits like news updates on COVID. Right on top of the page they will flash as with sometimes not able to close the ad by cliCLKNG AD button. I see other reviews with developers responding asking for “scree shot of ad and all”. What is wrong with you developers asking for snapshot from every person ? Are we doing QA for you or you rolled out a untested product ? Especially in such difficult times they want to mint money by flashing ads all over. I just wish there was a better way to catch up on news from India. The Times Group has lost all its morals and values it used to be in 80’s and 90’s. Now all is about money and not about news. The other day they flashed Randhir Kapoor COVID and in hospital news as top headlines. WHAT is WRONG WITH YOUR NEWS SENSE ? They seemed to have crossed all the limits with showing an ad with animation and sound while reading an article or scrolling through the news. Even without clicking the ad. God save TOI. Been reading it since 30 years now but their greed keeps going up And up and journalism keeps going down. It has become a film fare magazine with anything and everything about Bollywood and tv celebrities and their kids. And now ads popping out anytime. Terrible.

This update messed up the widget. I have an iPhone 6S running iOS 13.1.2 Since the latest update of TOI, the widget of this app displays only the images whereas the writing is all blurred. This happens only in dark mode. When I switch to light mode, the widget appears correctly. Please fix this as I can’t sacrifice dark mode just for a widget of a single app! EDIT: Since the developer contacted me and has agreed to fix the problem, I have increased the rating to 3 stars.

Lacks serious journalism. Instead of real news and events, it is full of bollywood and celeb gossip and articles like ‘10 things you can learn from xyz (whoever is the latest hot topic)’ and whole articles made out of just a single tweet or insta post. No value add over what we already read on social media. Only 10% of the screen surface is some news. Everything else is useless.

Dark mode not implemented fully. I use this app a lot for my news in India. I was happy when this app implemented dark mode. But I don’t know if they forgot to extend this dark mode to the widgets or if that’s a design choice, either way it feels like they couldn’t an incomplete implementation. As a softer developer, it’s sad for me to see this.

Ordered accidentally. My 1 star is NOT for the quality of the app. I bought this totally my mistake. I had tried numerous ways to contact you immediately . I wanted to delete the app permanently, it was a mistake. But I nor apple help could find you. I hope this will help me. When you reach out, I kindly will remove the one star. Worst news app ever.. It’s biased, supports racism, fuels friction among communities and is full of biased advertising. Pay them to be in news. Even entertainment section is biased and looks to be paid publicity. Won’t recommend this app.

House of ads. Ads everywhere. On top, bottom of screen middle of screen. Then, full screen ads. Can’t deal with it anymore. Deleted. Period.

Click on news and nothing happens. When you click on news,circle keeps on rotating and nothing happens.

Random ads popping up. Lately, random ads popping up while reading news. Also, they are not mute which is not appropriate.

Awesome!. India is such a vast, diverse and fast changing country that a good news app has to update itself every few hours. Being an NRI I use news apps from Australia, UK, USA and India and I must say that every time I open TOI app it’s refreshed. The system has improved very well and doesn’t jump mad when news being refreshed. Journalists too have become more professional. My only suggestion is that comments section should be edited to make sure messages of hatred and filth are quickly removed. You have a responsibility not to become a vehicle for hatred but tolerance. Too many irrelevant ads. Getting so many ads which are not even remotely relevant.

Very unstable app. 1.Ads keeps on coming one after another. 2. First page keeps on appearing even if we browse for other news articles. 3. Videos doesn’t load .

anti national news paper. all anti national news are given more importance than national news.. Its standard has gone very low.. anti hindu and pro muslim news.. I have uninstalled the app..

manage notifications. even when all the notifications toggle button are turned off.. they keep turning back on as the app reloads. Changes are not being registered to database. please fix ot as notification for every category is extremely annoying.

Extend to iPad. Dear toi development team, It’s good to see that you are regularly improving the app and including new features, besides enhancing app’s efficiency. But, why do you ignore iPad users. In this day and age people are device independent. It would enhance your mkt share show you in more professional light if you extend this app to iPad too. I’m sure libraries are similar for iPhone and iPad, barring afew. Thanks and do consider this.

Live update and UI. You live update section is very slow no matter how fast internet is, also UI is very bad; for times plus subscribers UI should better.

Informative and honest opinions.. I am reading T O I for last 52 years .Even in Australia,Adelaide I use to follow T O I app .But now it is improved a lot . Crashing on iphone 12 pro max. This app keeps on crashing on iphone on the latest iOS version 14.6. Why do u have such sloppy development team? Seems like noone bothered to test this app on latest iOS versions at all

Looks like cheap porn app. This news company uses softcore porn images to get young Indian males to like and use this app. Does not matter what the article is about you will definitely find a photo of female that needs more clothes.

App has stopped loading. For last few days, app home is not loading the data, it keeps on showing a spinner forever with blsnk white page in background.

Became an app to display advertisements. This app used to be nice. Now a days, it is kind of a spam app. Too many adds in every time and now it reached another level

Clicking Notification doesn’t take to precise news. Hi Team, When I click a news from notification it is not redirecting to the intended one. This is making me to search the news in app again which is tedious.

Total waste of money. I would be better saving this money especially when I have to just watch comments on saif Ali khan getting fat and rakhi Sawant been pregnant. You call this news ? Seriously it should be called times that was India.

Junk and useless. The newspaper used to be good. Now this has become Godi media and no useful news are ever published

Bogus reporting. TOI news paper was so good when I use to read it regularly. But this app has no standard of reporting. It is shame to the heritage of TOI. News are mostly filled in an around Bollywood, who is looking hot, by seeing whom your heart will stop, who is diva. India has got 1000 of news which keep all NRIs informed about the country, share those news. Everyone doesn’t give their 100% dedication around Bollywood. As Indian we highlight too much our silver screen performers. Treat them as entertainers , don’t fill your news with them only. There are thousand of contributors in Indian economy share their stories too. Shame on TOI , you are loosing your shine.

Slow app since premium subscription. What a piece of junk it’s so heavy and hangs for 10 seconds in each click on premium subscription and video quality is max 420p why so cheap?

Way too many ads. Even reading or viewing single article has become a challenge now on this app, way too many ads.

Use lots of resources of iPhone, IPhone gets hot and sometime not responsive. News quality is ok, but I experience this app use lot of resources while using it, most of the time my iPhone get hot and become non responsive, when I kill app it start working normal, possibly this app try to sneak in iPhone data and cockies to read user data.

Gutter quality journalism. If a Indian newspaper is writing headline favouring terrorist, they are nothing less than sold out media .. never comes to my read list again

Forced adds even after subscription!. Worst app ever. Getting forced adds in the midst of an article even after paying a hefty subscription. TOI should improve on this and stop harassing the subscribers with unwanted advertising

App issues. The app is not iPad friendly. Originally I complained about the aspect ratio. Now in 2023 it crashes regularly to “try again”

Frequently hanging and showing error pop up. From past couple of days the app is frequently hanging and shows error when opening a news article. Even the update to the latest version didn’t help.

TOI premium. I subscribed to the premium version of the app a few days ago to avoid pop ups and expecting a faster app. Seems like a huge mistake as I cannot even open the app anymore and the times it does open it is super slow. Seems like a bug in your app. Looking to unsubscribe.

App doesn’t open. There is an error and app never opens. Tried deleting and reinstalling but still showing error.

Cluttered and unorganized. It used to be a good app but recently they put so much disoriented content that you can’t distinguish what content important and how much the naked images of stars are important in a news app. DISAPPOINTED!

Scrolling in App is not smooth. We can not scroll smoothly in the app on iPhone XR and iPhone 11 Pro running on latest iOS and latest version of this app. The scroll is jittery..

Heating issue. My iPhone Xs is heating suddenly due to this app solely. At first I thought that it would be iPhone issue so had a replacement also but seems there is some bug in your app. Uninstalled it.

Creating heating issue in phone. After the last update. Now whenever I am using this TOI app My cell phone is getting hot. I have checked with other apps it is fine. Now the app is also not working fine. Whenever i scroll up or down..... it hangs..... If IT department is reading my comment. I want you guys to look into this matter. It has all started after installing the last update. Otherwise, before that it was running fine.

Dishonest subscription. The yearly subscription is sold as ‘Advt Free’ But they push their own advertising in the app as pop ups .

Still terrible performance. Too heavy on the mobile. Mobile apps need to be light. Get your basics right first. It’s become a bit of junk app which you don’t know how to fix it. User experience is terrible. If you want to read the news, you don’t expect the user to wait for the page to load forever and finally give up. And move on to the next possible effective app for news. Please go and do some research from other news app, especially the global ones. I’m sure you have enough funds.

Nice app to stay informed. Times of India has been my go to news source for last 35 years and this app keep that going. Kudos to developers and those this keeping up to date ! Times + is worth the money for well researched articles

Uninstalled. I read and followed times of India for at least couple of decades. The integrity of the group has become questionable for propagating incumbent government’s agenda. It consistently demonstrated lack of spine and grit in asking tough questions pertaining to common people. I am seriously disappointed by the quality of reportage from this news media and hence uninstalled this app. I will look for another newspaper, which has more determination to voice common persons’s concerns, and questions.

TOI cannot be trusted. I have this app on my phone for at least 8Years. Today as usual I wanted to get the latest and when I saw no news about farmer’s agitation, right away it made it clear that it not one of the media house which I can trust. Bye TOI and you will not be missed.

App not working anymore. Why your app is not working anymore on Canadian server? It’s showing available on the app store but when I download it, it’s not going past the “loading” screen. Please fix the issue. It’s not my phone. It’s your app.

Annoying pop-ups. The overall app is pretty good but keeps showing pop-up advertisements every 3 seconds. This is worse than visiting phishing sites.

Worst News. Third class news as it do not have courage to raise public concerns

Scrolling Problem. Problem when scrolling in app in iPhone X. Scrolling stutters. Scrolling is not smooth.

Main page font.. The main page is too cluttered. The print is too small. The photos are not visible due to small size. Sorry to say, but not at all a good presentable page.

Full of annoying ads. EPIC FAIL EXPERIENCE. Very bad experience on reading news. They throw the ad on your face. Video apps pop up on whole screen every 1 second and play for long time. To make it worse, Ads can’t be skipped. Continuous interruption with tons of ads made me feel like I am on an malware infected app/website instead. For fellow news readers- switch. To business/app developers- Hope feedback gets heard and you get to keep your readers after fixing the app. Good luck !!!

It has become worse.. I under that you’re looking for revenue through advertisements, but it’s become insane now. An ad just pops up and takes you to a different page without clicking on it and I’m unable to read the whole article. I was patient this long, but no more. I’m removing this app and I would give it less than a star if I can.

Waste of time and phone battery. Same news repeated with multiple posts. Seems like paid promotion going on for actors and models or some editors are just obsessed with them. If you critic the news or editors your comments will never get posted. Drains your battery and heats up your phone. After using it for more than 2 years I realized that there are better substitute available to attain news.

Worst app. You should hire a person from THE INDIAN EXPRESS newspaper. Because their app is so balanced and perfect symbol of news app. You’re number one newspaper of India. Your coverage of news and it’s detailed explanation appreciable. Please work on improvement of your app

Worst App Ever. The Comment function does not work. After entering my ID and password, the system accepts them, but as soon as I click on a post, it asks for my email and password again. This cycle goes on forever. There is no easy way of complaining. I was able to get through to the IT guys just once, but they were clueless. I have never used an App that has been designed to be so USERUNFRIENDLY…. and India is supposed to be the second largest exporter of computer software???

App stutters hangs abruptly. Major issue with the app sine beginning of 2020. Stutters, lags upon tap and at times abruptly shuts down. Not sure if it’s because of a new patch they released or the loads of fake news in the content that causes it.

Very poor functioning app. I have iphone 11 pro plus and the app doesn’t fit in the screen. The clickable buttons/links are on the corner of the screen being impossible to click and the end of the sentences of the news story are chopped off. Over all it’s a very poor user experience and app published with no checks outs.

Supposed to be a News App But if Full of Ads. This app used to be really good up until the developers decided to cash in on the app by forcing ads before you can read any article. Is this supposed to be app from a news organization or from a shady game developer?

Needs improvement. Out of 10 times, 7 times - many of the news items / images / videos are broken. They never get loaded. My Internet speed is very high. So, it’s not an issue with the speed. You guys need to improve on this.

Ads taking full control of screens. It is very annoying to see ads suddenly pop up and take full control of the screen. When that happens you cannot close it anyway. Just that you have to watch it till the end. Very annoying.

Notification section does not work. I get notifications from random political news or some automotive news even though I have subscribed only for breaking news and sports news. Please fix this.

Sections can’t be removed. I use the iOs version of the TOI app. With the latest update it is impossible to remove unwanted sections e.g Times Evoke, Lifestyle, Shopping Destinations. This is very inconvenient as the user has to scroll through lot of unwanted content to get to the content useful to him.

Local entertainment Removed !!?. I used to like the previous version of the app. In the new version I see entertainment only for Bollywood. I used to have options to select entertainment based on language. Why is this removed ?

Grow up. What the hell with you guys? Show only half nude women picture and promote such trolls like news. Shame on you for making money like this. Do you even look at the app or news? Few news and more masala. It looks like you want viewers to only think about nonsense. Give some healthy material for youth to think about.

Dumb app. Uninstalling.. I turned off the notifications for entertainment and Bollywood and the app will still give me notifications about it. I thought it might be a glitch initially but they never fixed it and such dumb notifications are rising by the day.

Rename required. Better name your app to Softporn paper of India. Showing all revealing pictures of actress you share their pictures on Instagram on your platform just to get clicks is utter disgusting. None of your news talk about achievements, growth, it’s all about revealing news, bashing pakistan. Hope you go bankrupt big time!

Way too many ads. Hopeless News App. This news paper turned out to be advertising news sight. App does provide more ads than the news. Turning out to be horrible news paper app, will go find alternative where we can read some news.

Widget on dark mode malfunctioned. Hello Developer, The app is good. And I use app-widget more than an app. However with new iOS 13.x, when the dark mode is selected then, the widget just malfunctioning. It only shows pictures with missing texts about news. iPhone X.

App freezes. The application keeps on freezing. Have to force quit and relaunch each time

So called news app. Too many intrusive ads, poor use of language and grammar in news articles.. hardly a trustworthy source of information. Lots of opportunity areas for improvement.

Anti-national B**tards !. I used to be an avid reader of the application, both on my phone and in physical form. But they reported yesterday’s terrorist attack on CRPF convoy in Pulwama as conducted by a “local youth” , (not by a Pakistani trained/mind washed local youth who became a terrorist) and then sounding as if Pakistan is not involved by writing “Govt blames pak?” So enough is enough , Why are you giving benefit of doubt to pakistan, when the whole world knows that #PulwamaAttack was PAK sponsored mini war against federal government of India? 😡😞

Too many adds. App is good including the content however adds should be limited, while i understand funding need however add should not cover the full app and not give user chance to close

Posting comments. The TOI App has stabilized. I use it on iPhone Xsmax. Very stable. I would recommend the DeVriese add ability to view ones posts and respond to any replies etc.

Less content and more Ad. This app is full of ads...all over the place and content authors don’t know how and where to position ads. You should learn from NDTV or CNN apps on ad publication. For every video you force 30 sec ad, ridiculous...don’t see this on another premier news app. My time is precious, learn to respect others time. TOI is no longer my go-to app for news..

Recent update app is not working. I am using TOI app from last 7 years and never had issues. But with the recent update the app is not displaying/ loading the page. Please fix it ASAP

Used to be a trusted source. The TOI has become an advertising machine for any political party willing to give money. Additionally this has become a Page 3 tabloid. I have complete lack of trust in their reporting and ethics. Just search for all the sting operations on the media houses and you will know. I wish trustworthy reporters leave them and start their own news media.

Using this app is like a Maze. So many tabs! It’s son confusing to use the app. 3 different tabs - Bottom row, top row and the side bar. Now add individual selections within section like HINDI in Entertainment or Delhi in City etc. It’s just a ridiculous mess to use it. UX is horrible. This apps needs a thorough cleanse and need to be simplified. Use the common best practices in UX design.

Home page is full of Bollywood news. This new TOI app is a big waste. 40%-50% news space is occupied with Bollywood news. I’m not interested in those news. There is no way to edit or get rid of those news from home page. Such a waste. Deleting this app and never gonna download again!

Irritating ads that play sound. Really distracting if you are catching up on news in private like in the night when person next to you is asleep or at work

Incomplete loading of page. Since last few days I am not able to see news related to topics like cricket, Business and so on as were possible earlier. Category related news are missing

Cannot post or view comments. App is good but you cannot post/view comments on any article. However, you can post/view comments on web version.

Make the digital one free for readers. Allow your user to read in non ad news paper. So that it will gain popularity world wide.

Annoying 6 second videos pop up all the time. TOI is so desperate for revenue that they are allowing unsolicited/ unclicked sudden videos to pop up, and that too with sound. Cannot open TOI in quiet places for fear of disturbing others. Cannot read in morning at bed because of this annoyance.

Very poor service for the money u pay.. I have payed the subscription fee. Inspect of it I get advertisements and the frustrating part is that it keeps logging me out of the account. And I can't even login into the account! And doesn't give me the option to login. !!!!

Takes over music every time.. With the ads taking over the music controls all the time, it’s really hard to browse the news, which is kinda why the app was developed. I understand that ads are necessary, though I’m sure something can be done to make the ads way less obtrusive.

Loud video ADs. What’s up with pop up video ADs. It’s very annoying to the least. I understand that app has to generate you revenue but does it have to be from loud videos ads. I was using the app in the night and I didn’t realize my volume was so high. Sudden video app popped up and woke everyone. Plz keep the ad’s default volume to mute so we don’t get caught off guard. Can't even use the app!. I dunno which company it was outsourced to. The complete overhaul of the app has broken the app altogether. This is unusable now. The resolution has changed on the latest iOS and latest app update. It now feels like a miniature version of the app which can’t be scrolled . Fix it, hopefully !

Advertisers???. I understand providing space for advertising nonprofit organizations who want to help few sick kids. But the entire app is full of them. It looks fraudulent with so many and it ruins the experience of visiting the app. Please contain.

Heavy ads. For some reason every now and then, heavy ads start showing up in the app. This is really unacceptable, especially from a news publication like Times Of India. Edit: Adding response since the developer responded. I'm located in the US and the ads just popup as a full screen video with sometimes an option to close but most times I've to exit the app.

Forcing use of personal data. Sad to see you forcing use of our data with no option to not allow it. I removed your app. Users need to have the right to their data. Forcing a decision to use it is not a good practice. There are other news channels and we will move there.

Full of click/bait ads. As a reputed news agency, TOI should be aware of ads they are presenting to their readers and be accountable for not improving the ad content. Their news articles are full of fake click-bait ads. In addition never ending stories that sell sex, flesh. Their editorials advocate for women equality and respect, while entertainment section relies on selling the same women for clicks and ad revenue. Please select one option and stick with it.

Piece of trash. This is not a newspaper but a piece of garbage. Hard to find news there. Feel sorry for the people working at toi. I guess all they do is upload nudes, cleavages, etc. The quality of content is always abysmal and if you ever find good content, it is usually taken from elsewhere. They don’t have any good editors left.

Good FIR. This app is very reliable and provides very quick first information report on all happenings. Need to focus on certain basics like spell/grammar check on headlines. I have observed more than once of such basic errors

TOI plus not working. I PAID for this service. I constantly need to login and prove my credentials in order to avail this service. Sometimes the RESTORE PURCHASES option doesn’t even work. I feel cheated. If this is not fixed Sooner I am going to take this up with Apple leadership team. TOI cannot cheat customer get annual money from them and not provide service.

Toi Review. I have been a reader of TOI for last few years and have notices continuous decline in credibility of the news and reports in your app version and social media platform like FB. I waited long enough to see you go back to your ethics and report the news at it is without manipulation, but sadly that did not happen. Deleting the app and you lost your one loyal reader.

Most Annoying app. Seems like each day they find new ways of showing ads. Pathetic user experience, you cannot read anything without being interrupted again and again. I am deleting this app for so many better alternatives - anyways the content quality is mediocre at best

Really annoying ads. Recently there has been too many ads popping up right when you are reading an article which is so annoying. You normally have to wait for 5 second before it can be closed. Most of the ads pop up randomly while reading any of the articles. TOI should fix this issue if it is serious about retaining viewership.

More like a porn app. I had this app for many years and over the period of time the quality has deteriorated very much. It has now become more like a porn apps. Can you believe that you can't open this app in front of your kids or other people? It's supposed to be a news app not porn app. I have deleted this app and my other friends too.

Delete this HORRIBLE App. I used to love this app. I’m a new junkie and this app was part of my daily reading rotation. But since last week or so, they have implemented new system where they want All of your personal data. Since then I have deleted this app. I was already debating deleting the app because of all the new pervasive ads but this helped me make up my mind.

Worst app of the century. I have never seen such a disgusting app ever built. Everytime I open, it hangs and then tries to do something in the background. It should be called the advertisement of india instead since emphasis is only ads and not news. It should be sunset asap

Decent Ux poor content. TOI app has become a tabloid version. Nonsense videos are shared under Top Videos which you can’t event remove. TOI doesn’t react to offensive and derogatory content no matter how many times you report or flag content. Can’t believe that India’s premier newspaper org has degenerated to this!!
