Doesn't really work
The website and app both has issues with podcasts freezing and not playing. Wish I wouldn't have bought this. Useless
User friendly interface
Finally a podcast app that's beautiful and extremely easy to use. Haven't encountered any glitches yet. Worth every penny.
Chromecast features support
Would it be possible in a future update to add the Playback Speed, Trim Silence, and Volume Boost features available in the mobile app onto the Chromecast app as well? I tend to listen to podcasts with playback at 1.5x and trimmed silence, and basically can't use its Chromecast extension because these features are missing.
Otherwise, I've had a great experience using Pocket Casts. Thanks!
Problem downloading and streaming
Used to be very good, but is very buggy and unstable now - despite having a good network it struggles to stream or download podcasts. The native podcast app on iOS has no such trouble downloading the same podcasts at the same time.
The interface is very good but as it stands it is not functional- I have even tried reinstalling.
Been my go-to for years!
Pocketcasts became my go-to podcasting app when they released their app for Windows Phone. I continued to use it once I switched to iOS. I also paid for the web player access as well (totally worth it)
I wish you could listen to individual episodes without having to subscribe. Also, I have been having some syncing issues lately where ill unsubscribe / subscribe to a show on my phone but that won't be reflected on the web app or my iPad.

So glad I switched over from apple podcasts finally. Great UI
Great...but missing features
The interface is clean and has great design. But when I subscribe to a podcast, I want to start with the oldest podcast first, especially when the podcast builds from one episode to the next. I want the app to be able to download the oldest 1 (or 3 or 5, etc) episodes and auto-download the next oldest when I finish an episode so there is always a backlog of downloaded episodes. There is no easy way to do this in the app. All old episodes are assumed to be "played" when you first subscribe, forcing me to manually select each and mark then as unplayed, and then downloading all of them to my device.
Very Good App...Some additions needed
I have used every podcast app out there and Pocketcasts is one of the best. I use this on my iPhone, iPad, and iMac(the web player of course). They all sync flawlessly. With the addition of skip silence and volume boost, Pocketcasts is near the top of the pack. Some podcasts I like to automatically download every episode. I love the fact that I can set each individual podcast to do that and it works in the background automatically. Other podcasts, I want to read the episode description before I decide whether or not to download. This app gives me the option to do that or even stream if I want to. The UI is really sleek and smooth. I love the easy swiping gestures and the dark theme option. Finally, I'm a huge fan of the "play next" feature. It's super easy to put together a list and just let it run, and change the order with ease. As a power listener of podcasts, this is clearly at the top. Now, I do have a couple of suggestions to make it even better: 1) Add the ability to listen to an individual episode of a podcast without having to subscribe. 2) Add the ability to turn off the screen rotation. Otherwise, I'm a die hard fan of this app!
Great - unless you have an Apple Watch.
This was one of my favorite apps on iOS, until I bought an Apple Watch.
Now - it's a bit behind the others.
If this had an Apple Watch app and a complication, I would be so happy and come back to it, as I like it's UI better than overcast. It doesn't even have to be complex and have a "send to watch" feature/audio effects control, just something that allows me to browse my playlists and start/stop/go back/forward.
But until then, I'm staying with overcast.
Best Podcast App
I don't usually write app reviews but this app deserves a good rating. It is a delightful experience to listen to podcast now, thanks to extra functionalities and pretty UI.
Really nice filters
I love being able to filter for video on the tastytrade videos and I love the streaming and speed controls.
Would be great if I can use a swipe up and down method to increase and decrease the speed.
And it would be truly awesome if we would include YouTube playlists in the feed filter and have access to the same controls.
Needs a trim feature that lets you cut beginning and ending time based on the title of the video (or other properties maybe using a regex to add flexibility) so that the introductions and trailers can be ignored and it needs a continued play mode for the filtered video mode.
For me the filtered videos do not update unless I go to the podcast and pull back more episodes. Would be nice to fix that so we can go back in time and get older videos. Also would be great to fix the problem where the audio doesn't start when the video starts. On my devices I must tap the screen once or twice to get it to start with every podcast.
Far and away my favorite podcast service!
I've been using it for years now and it's been a joy since day 1.
