The Democratization of Wine. I discovered Vivino during COVID-19 and it has been a fun distraction and activity. It provides an organized way to document your wine tasting notes. I love the discovery and ability to order new wines that I would probably not be able to find locally. One thing that bugs me is the 5 star scale is really a 3-5 star scale so it makes it a bit harder to differentiate between ratings. A 2.5* wine is pretty poor. I almost never see a wine below 2.5*. There are tons of wines in the 3.5-4.0* range. Don’t be afraid to try wines in the 3-3.5 range! Just because they aren’t rated as “exceptional” doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy it and you can always learn more about your wine palate with every new taste! My favorite parts of the app - Reading the tasting notes from more experienced wine tasters. It’s also very exciting to be at the store and scan well reviewed wines (4*+) in your price range and then seeing that those pricey bottles aren’t always worth your money!

Ads and large portion for subscription. Used to be one of my most recommended apps (in person, I and I’ve been a user since halfway 2014). That will change because now I’m getting recommendations for other apps in the Vivino app. Still like the score for wines and easy finding of wines but used to be a lot better and I used to learn about how wines are supposed to taste and what region and styles and flavors. Now you have to pay 5 dollars/euros a month. I don’t use it every day, but it helped a lot finding a good wine in the store. Now that’s also harder as you can only scan 1 wine and it adds it to your wines which you then have to remove. I get it the less functionality but if the adds start bothering I’ll find another app, Delectable is one of them I think.

Unhappy. I was looking forward to what this app had to offer, but my first experience simply purchasing means it will be will my last use of this app. Completely poor email communication, confusing shipping promises (“will arrive by end of 4/23” and now that the date is come and gone, it says simply “shipping label created”). I contacted them about a shipping date and have heard nothing. I understand the current environment, but I’ve interacted with dozens of other retailers who are much more responsive under the same circumstances. At least tell me you got my communication and will get back to me. It was more than a week from my order before my card was charged and I still have no idea if I am even getting what I ordered. I could have gotten this wine much faster from other sources and with less frustration in the period from which I placed this order and still have nothing. I see how quickly responsive Vivino is to bad reviews here. I wish they put that kind of effort into their other communications.

4.5/5 Stars. Absolutely incredible app with very few flaws and bugs. The ability to take a picture of a wine list and to see each wine’s rating immediately is astounding. I found it difficult to find any issues with the app but the only glaring one that made me rate it 4 stars was the five star rating system. Rating by .5 star increments on a five star scale is too vague for my and my friends/family’s tastes and the app would be better served with a more exact measurement of .1 star increments or, if the .5 star increment system was to be retained, a 10 star rating to offer a larger variation in ratings and a ratings system. This would fit people with more specific criticisms and/or praises of a wine. Aside from this, a wonderful app!

Pretty close here.... Vivino is doing a lot right here both in terms of allowing you to track what you have had and what you are keeping in your “cellar” - they also understand that that word means different things to different people. There is no trendy “anti-snob” marketing, and there is no “we can teach you more” pretense - track, buy if you want, and enjoy the social aspect to it as well. That said, they are very behind in appellations and regional categories and that makes the analytics difficult to respect. I would like to see by grape, by region, by specific regional locations, by price, by ratings, but they lump everything that isn't, say Napa Cabernet, for example, together as California Cabernet. Tell that to Sonoma and their regions like Alexander Valley or Russian River! Same in many international areas and they have not scratched the surface of areas like Virginia or the Finger Lakes or Canada. Hopefully they put some dev dollars into this soon, but for now it is still well worth it and beats the competitors, I think.

Just average…. I’m not sure what these high ratings are about. People have low standards, I guess. It is an app to sell you wine at inflated prices disguised as a wine notes journal. Nothing wrong with the idea and aspirations, except that the prices are so incompetitive that you are better off using pretty much any online wine ordering site or you local store. As far as wine notes are concerned… not only amateurish, but lacking common sense. Sonoma county is apparently not in California as they are different regions. And this is just one example. Throwing in all regions and styles that they have found out is pointless unless they have a good structure. So if you do not care about what you pay for wine and the nonsense organization - go spend your money. Otherwise, use it to keep your notes on wines you have tried and look at all “expert” opinions for entertainment purposes. There is some use… thus the rating.

Takes the guess work out of wine buying.. Update to below original rating: I used to love this app but now the functionality of this app is completely useless and does not work at all. The app has been declining over the last year with pop ups and slow load times. As of the last month or two Scanning a label is now impossible!!! Sometimes I’m lucky and it just takes a solid 3 minutes to load however 98% of the time the scanned picture does not load at all. I believe they are not accommodating the free app anymore and trying to get folks to upgrade. I’ve contacted the app directly but no one has been able to help or give a solution to the problem after much back and forth. ************** I use the Vivino flavor/character scale to decide on all wines I buy. Now I know if hits on the scale the characteristics that I’m looking for then 99% of the time I will enjoy the wine without fail. I love reading about the wine and the regions too. This app has come a long way since I first downloaded it years ago... I was reintroduced to it last year and can’t live without it now.

Bait and switch. They post certain vintages, and you order them, and then they ship you different vintages. Total rip off. If you know your wines, you recognize this as fraud in the highest order. To make it worse, they make it impossible to contact them and complain. I will notify my credit card company to refuse the charge. Use AMEX, they are good about protecting the consumer, unlike Vivino. I was fortunate to have one wine merchant, on my first order, to notify me of the fraud, so I made an informed decision expecting to always be notified of the bait and switch issue ( thinking it was a one off problem), but it occurred again. Turns out it happens all of the time and I got duped again. Fool me once .. I would avoid ordering from them, as they can’t apparently guarantee the vintage or quality of wine you purchase. I’d give them a minus star, with an avoid at all costs if I could. I will post this on other social media apps if I do not receive proper consideration for my complaint.

Very good app, difficult wine delivery. I enjoy the app, especially the different components of the wine identified as a graph. My wife and I determined our taste profiles by looking at the profiles of wine we preferred, and often use the profile in identifying new wines to try. Purchasing has proven to be difficult. The deals on wines that I have purchased in the past are very good. The expected delivery times are so wide I have not ordered wine because I was not sure I would be available for pickup under worse case delivery window. My current order I have being delivered to an address I would be at during the site delivery window. I ordered on a Tuesday, with an expected delivery the following week (Monday-Friday). Just received a notice delivery will be Thursday of this week. Other sites do much better identifying expected ship date and delivery date.

Great App for personal use, don’t use to buy wine!. The app itself is a great companion for wine lovers. The only issue I’ll work you about is purchasing through the application. I ordered six bottles of a 2015 Napa cab using the purchasing function in the application. You’re purchasing from a third party shop that uses the app as a method to simplify ordering, and glyph can use Apple Pay to check out. Seems convenient, right? Unfortunately what I received was another vintage of the same wine, the 2016. The profile was totally different. Contacting Vivino, they initially claimed that I selected that substitutions were permitted. Going back through the app (I invite you to do this) there is no such checkbox or option when using ApplePay. I sent them multiple screenshots of the checkout process to show there was no choice regarding “vintage substations allowed”. Vivino customer support said that the merchant had a copy of the receipt that showed substitutions were allowed and that they had to follow the merchants return policy which required i pay for shipping back and a 15% restocking fee. I mean, if your app screwed up and failed to give me the heads up about a material aspect of the purchasing process shouldn’t you have some accountability? Apparently not. So, be warned, if you buy wine, at least using Apple Pay, your vintage can be substituted without your approval and Vivino will not do anything to help you. DO NOT PURCHASE THROUGH THEM.

Good app but too many mistakes with orders. I’ve been a Vivino member for a while already. They offer good selections of wines and usually good prices and deals. However, it can get upsetting ordering through them. Vintage substitutions (yes, you order 2015 and they send you 2016 or 2021 because supposedly you marked a non existing box allowing that through the checkout process), mismatches and mistakes. The last one was already too much for me. They were advertising a wine por $30 I liked, usually more expensive, and ordered 3 bottles. When I picked up the package, what do I see? 3 bottles of a different wine. I reached out the customer service and their explanation was: “It was a mismatch. The wine you wanted is more expensive and since you paid $30 per bottle they sent you this other one”. Good job guys, terrific. You pay a shirt and you get some socks and still they make it sound as if it’d have been your mistake. It took weeks to solve this, I had to print labels, return the package, and wait for a refund. It was very disappointing and such a waste of time. Communication has worsened a lot and now it takes them a week or more to answer emails. So if you actually have an issue with them just prepare to wait.

Poor customer service. On my order #X1STRKFS , I an extremely disappointed at your customer service. I ordered 2 bottles of wine on November 19th and the order was confirmed on the same day. On The 20th the order was again confirmed with the note that I would be notified if there were any changes !! On the 22nd I was notified that the order was shipped. On the 23rd I was notified that the order had been delivered. Later on the 23rd I was notified that a refund was coming in 5 to 7 days because my Oder was missing 1 bottle of Morlet Family Vineyards 2014 ! I ordered 2 bottles of wine for a family Thanksgiving dinner for which we couldn’t attend. You had several opportunities to notify me that you didn’t have the wine so I could order a replacement bottle but you chose not to. Now it is too late !! Now I have to wait 5 to 7 days from the delivery date for my refund instead of from the known date of the 20th, or 22nd of the confirmed delivery date when they didn’t fill the order correctly. Family is everything to us and missing Thanksgiving is very hard, so sending wine is a way for us to be at the table when we aren’t. Customer service is about meeting and exceeding one’s needs and expectations. You did neither!! Happy Thanksgiving, Richard

Great Way to Get into Wine. Vivino’s best features are 1) it’s rating system and 2) it’s personalized “tasting profile.” Both of these tools help break down the often daunting world of wine into digestible categories. The rating system allows you to see which wines other people have liked, rating each wine on a scale of 1 to 5. While not a perfect rating system with clear biases, it makes an otherwise daunting wall of wine at the store into an approachable set of data. The “tasting profile” then collects are your personal ratings and compiles into region, grape, and style, so you can see which regions, grapes, and styles you enjoy drinking. This makes it easier to understand and keep track of what type of wine you like to drink. So, when you enter a wine store, you can skip over the types of wines you don’t like and focus on the types you do.

Takes the guesswork out of choosing wines, seamless and easy to use app. Vivino is an elegant solution to help take the guess workout choosing and buying wines both in stores and in restaurants. I use it all the time and find the crowdsourcing reviews and the pricing features to be very helpful. Do you know also sends me emails on occasion offering me wines and champagnes to buy through there distribution partners. They know a lot about what I like so their recommendations are tailored to my tastes. I have purchased quite a few cases of wine and champagne through the service. What’s amazing about it is that somehow they offer free shipping even to us way out here in the middle of the Pacific on the big island in Hawaii.

One of my favorite apps.. I absolutely love using Vivino! It’s incredibly easy to use and so well-organized. 99% of the wines I scan are instantly recognized. When it’s a wine not in the database (quite rare), it’s easy to add it for all to use. I can keep track of everything I’ve tasted at home and anywhere. I can pick wines based on the flavor profiles, and also look them up while shopping. I enjoy reading other people’s experiences with the same wine, and add my own experience. And the app also recommends and sells wines as well, usually at very good prices. It’s one of the most organized and useful apps I have. If you drink wine even a few times per year, Vivino recommends, logs, and educates you about every type of wine.

Tone it down. I like many things about Vivino: ability to purchase from my living room, details of the vintage, customization of presentations to my inbox… but credibility has been strained over the years. The reviews have been uniformly positive for wines that are mediocre. The use of adjacent vineyards to proclaim high quality wine has become a tired sales pitch. Claiming intense red and black fruit flavors in wine with none has left me wondering about some of the ad-writers. Have they actually tasted the wine? I want Vivino to come back to earth. I’m still a customer, but I can no longer buy a case at a time when I can’t trust the reviewer. It makes more sense to buy 1 bottle, and then decide for myself. Put honesty before profits, and your profits will increase.

Great app unless you want to buy wine. I enjoy the feedback when looking for new wines. I thought I’d give the shipping a shot, first, I picked two bottles from (unbeknownst to me) two shops at $15 shipping for each shop for $30 shipping total! Ok, I figured it out bought two bottles from the same shop, sucked up the $15 shipping and closed the transaction with PayPal. “Error” occurred. “Contact customer support” was robot texting, asked stupid questions, then asked for the order number, close out of support and look for order number that is on top of the order page and cannot be copied and pasted. So back and forth we go. Finally I get another robot reply that someone would be in touch M-F 9-5 blah blah blah. Great app but the shopping is a severe overreach based on unclear shopping basket when buying from multiple vendors (again I know to me), multiple and overpriced shipping rates, error in transaction, complicated robot follow up, the no help due to business hours.

Easy and Convenient app to inventory your cellar.. A wine loving friend recommended Vivino to me, and I haven't been disappointed. It is very easy to use your phone's camera to snap a wine bottle label. Then "Viola'", it brings up your wine, reviews both professional and crowd-sourced, and pricing. Once or twice it couldn't find a bottle from the photo, but I could search using keywords as well. Also allows you to correct vintages and varietals for accuracy. I use the app to add bottles to my cellar inventory, and to remove them from inventory when drinking or gifting. I use my ratings only for myself, to help remember which wines I did and didn't like. My ratings are shared with others across the site, even though I do not consider myself knowledgeable enough to be a wine critic. It also helps categorize my wines (tasted and reviewed by me, or cellared) by region and by varietal. I find this helpful to round out my cellar. I would recommend this app highly to anyone interested in wine.

You need Vivino!!. I tell everyone I know about this app. I tell my friends, my family, my boyfriend’s friends and family, and cashiers at liquor stores. I wanted to get more into accurately describing the wines I drank, and also to have a better predictor for what i will like rather than going by the liquor store’s listed wine ratings(which are just promotional anyway). I tried going by basic principles of what regions usually make good specific types of wine, and that was an epic fail. I tried one expensive bottle in an attempt to ~culture~ myself that ended up tasting like someone drank half of it and filled it back up with water so no one would know. So not very appealing. Moral of the story: i live by this app now. I try to rate most of the wines i drink to boost my ranking on it, but also to understand better what i do and don’t like in a wine. And I’m HOOKED on the new feature that gives you a percentage prediction for how much you’ll like a wine based on past input. And it even tells you when you need to decant a wine or let it breathe for a while before drinking it! There’s also cool little “classes” that give you information on new types of wine, and wine challenges to broaden how many Californian Cabernets or whatever you’ve tried. This app will change your drinking life. And it will make you feel fancy. I can’t believe it’s free.

Filtering Feature. I REALLY love this app. I think my only issue/complaint would be it lacking the ability to filter based on my star ratings. Right now, you can sort based on Avg user rating, or sort on my best rated. I constantly want to go back and compare wines I gave a specific rating, but I'm unable to filter, on say, my 3-star rated wines. I have to sort based on my rating and then scroll for a while. This becomes more problematic the more wines I rate. Other than that, I love the app. It's great for following other reviews, cataloguing wines I want to try in the future, learning about particular wines, and storing my personal preferences and ratings on wines I've tried. I've even purchased from the app and had a very positive experience.

Use it to rate, but NEVER order wine from them. I have always used this app to find out the ratings before I purchased wine. I found that the ratings were spot on. So I finally decided to order wine through the app. It’s been hands down the worst online buying experience I have ever had. DO NOT BUY WINE THROUGH VIVINO!!! 1. They source from different distributors so when you go to check out there are multiple suppliers you would have to pay - all with different shipping fees. 2. I was promised that the wine would arrive in 2-4 days. It’s 2 weeks later and I still don’t have the wine and the “tracking system” provides NO information and not even which delivery company. 3. So I called the wine supplier directly. They said they had the wine ready to ship the day they received the order but Vivino never ordered the delivery. They said that they would make sure the wine would get out that day or the next and I should receive in 2 days - which would have been 2 days ago now. 4. I have tried to communicate with Vivino on the app. The replies I receive seem to be automated and provide no info. 5. I finally did receive notification of it being in transit, but again, no delivery date, no ability to track and no clue which shipping company. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Use the app to rate, to select wines and then order directly from the supplier and skip Vivino!

Bad tech, good marketing. I’ve been using this application for over a year, I’ve gone through many updates, and have about 50 orders placed. Most of the vendors are pretty good, some of them are horrible. When you have a problem, the app requires you to enter your information, as if you are unfamiliar in the database. It is very amateurishly written, The data is there, the order information is there, there’s no reason the user should have to re-populate it again, it’s a huge waste of time. Given the number of orders that I’ve had problems, I’ve wasted hours trying to find out where the wine is! Vivino just contacted me and I have increased rating by one star. I appreciate being heard, and if they improve the app, I will increase rating.

Lost all saved wines - Updated, they were retrieved. Update: After they corrected the wrong support address they posted, I was able to request help and eventually my wine list was restored! Their support was better than I would have expected. Temporarily lost wine list aside, the app is good but not great. The primary problem is that a lot of wines are missing, and there are times where there are two seemingly identical listings for the same wine. However, it's the best app of this kind that I've found. I used this app for years, for one reason: to catalog the wines I drank and record what I thought of them. After one of the recent updates, I discovered my entire list was gone! I've tried logging in in case they were tied to an email account, but none of my email addresses are recognized. And worst of all, the support address they provide in the app description doesn't work; mail to it bounces back.

restaurant staff must-have. at the end of my first year in fine dining, i downloaded this app when my manager recommended it to me. since then, i have used it in every restaurant or catering job i’ve worked in, as well as occasionally with other wine snobs in my personal life. once, on a trip to champagne, france, vivino could not identify half of the bottles i purchased directly at a winery. otherwise, i have reliably found every bottle i’ve searched on this app. the interface is intuitive and quick. even if I don’t have an internet connection, the app saves all your photo searches and you can access them when you get a connection. i recommend this app — on here and at work — to casual vino inductees and bourgeoning suppers curious to learn more about different notes; servers, bartenders and other restaurant staff looking for notes on wines they have not tried before presenting them to discerning guests; wine collectors interested in participating in the popular forum, sharing and hearing thoughts about any but the smallest-batch bottles in their collection.

Finally! The (almost) perfect wine tracking tool!. I’ve been looking for a while now and have downloaded/tried at least a dozen apps to track, log, and journal wine purchases & tastings notes. So many apps have one or more great features but are always lacking something or they have functional issues. When I finally found the “personal note” feature for non public review comments (although a bit hidden), it rendered this app 98% perfect!! (The only missing “need” is the ability to add 2nd -or more- photos for the back label. A custom sort field would also be nice, but not as critical as the pictures.) Although the search & buy features are nice, I especially like how the app gives so many side info links for the varietal, wine maker, and community tasting notes. Since I’m trying to learn how to be a better taster and more articulate in describing wines, this will really help to learn and keep a journal on precious wines tried.

Extremely Nice app. This is the way to run a for profit app. It is great because you can have what you tried at your connivence in your digital cellar. Once you have scanned the bottle your drinking it will give you other peoples reviews of it, and the breakdown of flavors. Where the wine is from etc. There is a fun read and take quiz that make it less tedious study when it is competitive. Doesnt ask you for money for every little thing. It has a Club, where you choose one of the three values your will to pay up to, and they will choose the 6 bottles based off your passed reviews. You get freee shipping with it, and majority of the time from the reviews I have read, significantly better deal than going to local wine shop. You can skip the club pay $4 or so a month to get free shipping. When you do your review the app lets you know how many bottles they can acquire of it and its cost, and you can buy right then. Their a small social media aspect. Hope this helps, Im still very much a new comer but having fun learning.

Bugs in new features. App is and always has been great at identifying and cataloguing wines. New features that recommend regions or wines to you have been largely gnats that I ignore thus far, but today Vivino attempted to warn me that I would not like a wine that I was trying to document as one I was currently enjoying. When I dug deeper, it said it was not recommending because I “don’t like red wine,” which is frankly ludicrous. I couldn’t find a way to submit this feedback via the app because their help function hits a dead end if you want to create a case without an order in question, so I’m here to submit the negative feedback in public. So I’ve got two complaints—one is the insane “profile” it has assigned me and the other is the broken feedback experience.

Excellent Resource. Ever feel intimidated going into a liquor store that has a limitless selection of wine? I’ll tell you right now, I have. This app helps educate you on different wines, what to taste, what to pay, and its average rating. My favorite feature, you can scan wine bottles to see if it is a good wine compared to the ones next to it. You can see what the experts rate it, and what the average consumer thinks of it. After you drink some, you can tell the world what you thought of it which can help someone like me consider buying it. When you are in a restaurant, you can log in that one wine you absolutely adored with your steak. This is one of my favorite apps on my iPhone... period. I recommend it to anyone who has any interest of wine or simply want to impress your friends and family with picking that special wine for a dinner or just to sip by a fire. Give it a whirl, cheers!

WrWrong wine shipped and a week later no response from customer service. I ordered a wine that was listed as a Nero D’Avola /Cab blend (which I had before). The website listed it as a Nero/Cab blend. When my case of wine arrived I noticed it was a Nero/Merlot blend which is not what was on the website and not what I ordered. I contated customer service 2 hours after it arrived and explained the issue. They said they would get back to me. 3 days later with no answer I called and spoke to someone. The said they would get back to me. To date almost a week later I have not heard from them. They have now changed the website to show this wine as a Nero/merlot blend. But I have pictures of the original listing. I would think they could figure it out in a week and get back to me. It seems to me that they thought I was working for them to correct their website even though I told them my wine was not what I ordered. I should call my credit card company and get the payment back. I guess I’ll have to call a third time.

Fun exploring new wines. Whenever I’m in the liquor store, it makes me feel more confident buying wine that has a rating. I recommend Vivino for the straight forward ratings and the vast amount of wines they have categorized. There have only been 3 times when the wine I was considering didn’t have any information in the app. I get annoyed that nearly every bottle I scan has 3.8-4.1 out of 5, no matter the price point! Some wines are amazing and too many opinionated self-taught wine drinkers feel the need to downgrade every label with a 2-star. However, the power of Vivino is also the group dynamic, so I take any of the grading on my personal curve.

Almost Perfect. I’ve used a few Wine Scanners/Wine Tracker type of apps. As a Wine Scanner this app is a hands down five stars. It fines 99% of wines and if it can find it there is the ability for them to do a manual search and report back to you in the app. You get ratings from normal people and the community is big enough where people leave precise reviews of the wine. Their wine education function is very good for beginners that gives them grape/location/style and sometimes producer information. Plus it has challenges that can increase your knowledge as well. Where the app falls short is it’s wine tracker/cellar functions. I would like the ability to share my cellar like it allows you to share your wishlist. Because I’m using it as a cellar tracker I would like to have more filters like by price, drink by date if I’ve entered that information, year of purchase, vintage things of that nature. Also you have the ability to add locations if the app can’t find them but not the ability to edit or delete. I have like two or three versions of the same location maybe because it was spelled wrong or wrong url. Conclusion: best wine app on the market and I would pay not only for this version but for a pro version of I received more functionality.

Convenient, Informative, Fun!. This is a great tool for the wine enthusiast and then casual buyer alike. So easy! Snap a photo of a bottle’s label while browsing at your favorite retailer and get tons of information regarding the varietal. You receive winery specific-region-global ranking comparisons, ratings, reviews, similar wines and much more fun and valuable info. The app allows you to maintain a history of the wines you’ve scanned, learns your preferences over time and will follow up (via email) with deals on wines that are likely to interest you. Thanks to Vivino I Have discovered and purchased a number of wines (originating from across the World) that I likely never would have purchased, or even been aware of (and I live less than an hour from the California Napa-Sonoma Wine Country). Vivino is one of my favorite apps and I use it at least weekly!

Best app for wine lovers who want to learn and save. I absolutely love this app. I’m always a little weary as to whether or not I’m getting not only the right bottle of wine, but the best true to retail value. So what I do is snap a photo of a bottle that I may be interested in at the market and the app tells me what the average retail price is and based on that I compare it to the price listed right in front of me. It’s always so accurate. The app also helps me when I’m out at a restaurant and I want to make sure I’m not getting ripped off when ordering a bottle of wine. You’d be surprised how often a restaurant will sell a $10 bottle of wine for well over $50. If you’re a wine lover and want to be a smart wine consumer, you need this app.

Very happy with this app. I’ve been using this app for about 6 months now. I’m tracking my cellar contents, rating every wine I can find, looking up ratings prior to purchase, and have made a few wine purchases through the app. I’ve found the community ratings to be pretty good. A wine with a 4+ rating has always been good, and the below 3.5-point wine you can reliably pass on. Scanning bottles is pretty quick and gives you a near instant read on a bottle you may be considering buying. It would be nice to be able to export your cellar contents to a .csv file, and to be able to access it on the web. Overall very well done.

What happened to My Cellar?. REVISED Was 1 Star, now 5! After the sadness of losing my carefully managed “My Cellar”, I was digging down into the app settings and right at the bottom was a “Restore my data” option and it did! All is now right with the world! PREVIOUSLY Use to love this app. I had over 400 bottles in my cellar, and this app was a great way to search, catalog, and rate them. Recently, I went to search the app for some wine that was in my cellar and now there’s only 24 bottles in there! Over 350 carefully entered wine information, along with shelf location, and history gone... extremely disappointed! Now I’m just going to go back to Excel where I can control what is deleted and when.

Great app. Please change the list of all regional styles shown by tapping on “you’ve rated ... of ... styles” in a way that each country list is collapsed (only first items shown), and could be expanded - like it was in earlier versions before introducing this “taste profile”. Current long / non-collapsed list is useless! Also please return back to this list nice round visual counters shown per each style - instead of non readable numbers as plain text. Just look at ViVino 8.16 and UX relayed to regional styles. It’s just always one tap to get to the necessary info - instead of current folders-like structure with dozens of tab. For example, to see my rates per style I need: tap on taste profile, wait for it to load, tap on styles you tried, tap on “you’ve rated ...” to see the full list, scroll dozens of lines, tap on style. If I tap on style from wine details, I need one more tap on amount of ratings in the style. This is terrible UX comparing to previous versions. One more “nice” example of new UI. If I tap on any style in the full list of styles to see details and then return back to the list. App doesn’t remember my position in the list so I have to scroll this huuuge list again and again. So painful.

Hands down, one of the most useful apps I have!. I absolutely ADORE this app for so many reasons. Gone are the days of picking up an unfamiliar bottle of wine in an attempt to go “outside of the box,” only to be regretfully let down. The ability to scan and pull up details and reviews of ‘that’ exact wine (down to the year!) within a couple of seconds is straight up awesome. I also love how it saves the wines I scan so I can go back and either rate or at least remember which particular wines I was looking at, what I liked/didn’t like, etc.. Not to mention, it’s FREE! Seriously, people. If you like wine or are simply trying to get into it a little more, look no further. Vivino is THE app

Zero stars - Don’t buy wine from them. Ordered two bottles on September 23rd, received email that they shipped on October 8, with a FedEx Tracking number that has only said pending since then. Today, Nov 1st, my order status says that the wine was delivered. Over the course of the last two months, I’ve emails them about the status of my order three times, with not respond. I’ve waited for a chat several times, usual result is I start out number 2 in line and then magically go back in line and never get a chat. I’ve ordered wine from dozens of other places and never had an issue. Vivino not only can’t deliver a bottle of wine, there is absolutely no way to reach them. To start with, the vintage I clicked on to order switched to a different year without telling me or giving me an option to cancel, but I decided to go ahead anyway. So app cheats you to be gone with on your order, then they never send the wine, but just check it off as if they did and leave you no way to contact them. I think the correct term for this business mode is SCAM.

Too many wine clubs?. I’ve honestly never written a review for an app before, but I feel like I must with this one. My friends have spoken about the Vivino for years when they find a wine they like at a restaurant and then they want to buy it at the store. Or when they go to the store to look at the walls of wine and who knows if you are wasting your money on a bottle of wine until you get home to drink it? Vivino has fixed all of that for us. And then some. After our third trip to Napa Valley and the wine clubs that we have joined over the years, and the wine that is accumulating in my cellar, I realized that we didn’t even know what we had anymore. Vivino has fixed all of that. I love to use that while shopping for wine right in my own cellar. I know what I have and I can take it out of my virtual cellar after we have enjoyed it. Best yet is that if I like it and I want to buy more of it, it doesn’t just disappear from my list. It is still there with all of my details so that I can purchase more to enjoy at a later date. Thanks for Vivino. There is one glitch in the latest release-when you add a wine to your cellar no matter what date you entered, the app reverts back to today’s date. You have to go back in and edit the entry and change the date and then it saves the second time. Something for your developers to fix please.

All great until vendors fail to do their part. I’m not sure if it’s just a coincidence but I had a terrible experience with each of my most recent three orders through Vivino. Order One - I ordered six bottles of one wine and three bottles of a second wine. They only shipped three bottles of the second wine and never shipped the first wine while charging me for the entire order ($424). If I had not noticed, I would have been over-charged about $300. After contacting Vivino, they refunded the wine, but did not credit $19 Sales Tax. Order two - I ordered three bottles of a 2019 wine which was highly rated in Wine Spectator. They shipped 2012 vintage without asking me if it was okay to do so, (as they have done in the past). When I complained, they claimed I purchased the wrong vintage. They offered to take the wine back, however they would charge a restocking fee and shipping. I decided to keep the wine as I would have been credited less than half of what I paid. They offered me a 15% coupon for a maximum of a $100 purchase, very generous considering in the first order they stiffed me $19. Order Three - It was just cancelled. No communication from Vivino. When I checked the App, the order was cancelled without explanation. After purchasing thousands of dollars worth of wine through Vivino, given my poor experience and the substandard resolution by Vivino, I will never purchase wine through their App ever again.

Very versatile. I love this app because the scanner feature makes it so easy to add bottles to the list, and also because it let’s you download an Excel format file of your wine list. In the downloaded file I add info onto each line as to where the bottle is kept in my collection. This allows me to use a simpler location system than the structured approaches in other apps. (You need to know a little Excel and it takes some effort to assign this info to later downloads, so I wish I could upload my edited file back to the Vivino cloud). Other wish is that they would show % mix of each grape for each bottle; this info helps a lot for choosing wines for serving and food pairing. But it’s the best, easiest app I’ve found.

One of the best Apps I’ve ever used.. I don’t write reviews for apps, but felt this app deserve a few minutes of my time. Hands down one of the best apps I’ve every used. The user interface and experience is great. Could have a few improvements in some areas, but what can’t. The problem this app solves, its primary use, and intent is exceptional. Not to mention it’s customer focus and support. An example, I noticed an identification error and submitted it for manual review. In less than 24 hours it was corrected. 🤯 This app continues to impress me and my friends when I use it or explain a capability they didn’t know exist. I continually recommend it to my friends. Keep it up!!!!

Don’t buy Plus. I was a very happy enthusiastic Vivino customer. Very much enjoyed opening the emailed wine offers based on my specific taste in wine. I purchase wine monthly and usually by the case. THEN, I joined Plus. For the past several weeks Vivino emails have turned into junk mail, trying to sell me wines I Jane NO interest in and would never buy. Tried three times to have Vivino fix this. Every time I got promises, including that they would get back to me with updates on my issue. Never did any of the three get back to me. So frustrating… Now the frustration has far outweighed my enjoyment, so ending plus membership, stopping all Vivino emails and saying good bye to Vivino.

Great, but there’s sorta a learning curve.. I received a developer response that lead me to easily figure out how to add Carlo Rossi Sangria which was not previously on the app, and was instead being identified as Carlo Rossi Moscato Sangria. This app relies on information provided by users. Be sure to double check results and make corrections when you notice a mistake. Since my first review I’ve also learned to search wines by their levels of tannins and acidity; I really like that! Previous review: Confuses very popular wines! As of now I’ve had this app for less than 24 hours and rated 8 wines. This app can’t tell the difference between Carlo Rossi Sangria & Carlo Rossi Moscato Sangria! These are both very popular. If this app gets these two confused it’s logical to assume it’s even less reliable with less popular wines. Also, there was a different wine I had accidentally scanned twice because it was in two different locations in the store. It yielded two very different ratings because the first time it had incorrectly identified the vintage. At least with this second issue there’s a work around; I know I must double check the vintage results.

Love the app, but needs better ways to connect with others. I have been using the app for a few years now and won’t enter a liquor store nor order a bottle of wine at a restaurant without it. The app is not only super useful, but it’s also crazy smart. The label scanning capabilities are spot on, even if your photo is not perfect, it tends to always find the bottle in 1-2 second. My biggest complaint is that I cannot share it with others easily. Unless people are connecting with me on Facebook, I cannot easily share a link asking others to join. This application really needs either an incentive to get more people using it, or needs to find a way for loyal fans to get their friends connected. Please add a feature with links that can be shared, this will allow myself to connect with others around me better. Aside from that, this is one of the application I use on a weekly basis and wouldn’t leave home without. If they fix the connection issue, I see this application finally blowing up and would revise to 5 stars in a heartbeat.

Removing previous functions unless you pay up. Over the past few months as Vivino rolled out their pay-for-use “Premium” subscription, they have been removing functions from the free membership and putting them behind the pay wall. So instead of providing new functions to incentivize people to pay the current $4.99 for the “Premium” service, they take things away from current users to try to force them into the “Premium” paid plan. It also seems they are only putting enhancements to the remaining free functions behind the Premium pay wall. I guess they have gone for the stick to push users into premium by removing functionality they are used to, instead of the carrot of making Premium attractive enough by adding new features so users will WANT to use it. Unfortunately Vivino is probably the largest online database and has a good social platform to encourage user contributions of ratings.

Frankfromthebank. Wow, don’t know how they do it, but what a great service, well thought and put together. As a wine enthusiast and not an expert this is exactly what I needed. It has helped me organized my favorite wine and save my past options as well as help me keep and track what I have in the cellar. I quick know what I like and can make a better choice when I am in the shop. The big advantage for a moviste is the quick consultant option, with a photo snap you have a quick price and wine profile, what an advantage and solid insight to what I am getting with out guessing or taken for a ride or to the cleaners in the wine shop. Great product and supper tool for the person who just likes wine!

Decent app, terrible wine buying. I would strongly caution you before, considering using this platform and company to purchase wine. I have purchased wine through them twice. The first time my order was delivered on time, and to my satisfaction. The second time, however, the order was never received, and the company has been very difficult to deal with. Reaching support people through telephone or chat is an exercise in frustration. Despite having a US office on the West Coast, I have found the company difficult to reach during normal business hours. Through chat my experiences have been equally frustrating. Everything is responded with “we will get back to you within 24 to 48 hours.” My recent order was never delivered and it’s approaching two weeks from the time I ordered it, and I still don’t have my wine. The company is refusing to take responsibility, claiming that the package was delivered, and that I should ”ask my neighbors.” FedEx says the delivery was signed for, but no one has shared any proof. No one was even at my residence the day they claim it was delivered. Sadly, I’ll likely have to work directly with my credit card company and also alert our State’s AG because of the poor / improper handling of alcohol through the mail.

GREAT for wine identification and tracking, NOT GOOD for cellar managment.. I find Vivino to be an excellent application for identifying and tracking wines. It’s wine label photo-identification technology is first rate as it quickly allows access to community ratings and tasting notes. The Ecommerce marketplace is also a great feature which allows access to many suppliers who have up to date inventories to select from. In my opinion the application has 4 weaknesses. 1/ The application doesn’t allow you to share access to your cellar, so if you live in the same house only one person can keep it up to date. This is a real issue if you use the cellar feature as you will quickly go out of date if other people in the house buy and consume your wine. 2/ There is no capability to visually track/organize your cellar. 3/ The app doesn’t make recommendations on what wine is best drinkable - and when it is likely to expire. 4/ The searching function for friends is really poorly engineered - most times it pulls up many erroneous names even when you have specifically used distinctive names. I would give the app 1 more star if they added any of the above features.

An invaluable tool for anyone who loves wine. If you want to expand your knowledge and wine tasting skills, this app is an awesome tool to keep handy. I joined Vivino seven years ago in hopes of helping me to become a more experienced wine taster and couldn’t be happier and more amazed at how much I’ve learned and enjoyed the wines I have tasted so far. I’m tasting wines from regions I would never have picked on my own. This app is an encyclopedia of knowledge, it has options to read and comment on other member’s wines; it allows you to save wines you purchase; “learns” your preferences and makes recommendations for future purchases. You can buy wines and get special offers through the app. It offers wine adventures that explain the history of various styles and regions. I love to research a new wine then try to find it at my local stores or put them in my wishlist for future purchase through Vivino. I don’t think I could continue this experience without having this app at my fingertips!!

I have just scratched the surface with this app. As apps go this is truly ingenious. Takes away guesswork and the need for paying a higher price to be comfortable you are getting a good drop. Not saying be a cheapskate about buying wine but thanks to this app you can maybe buy a 2 euro bottle with confidence. Ok, 3 euros.

Vivino review. I like the way I photograph the wine label and have this stored in my Profile. The ratings help me to see what others think of the wines I have in my cellar plus ones I’m thinking of buying. The prices are up-to-date and the app has improved its layout and usability with options to purchase if you want to. A useful and handy app, well done!

iPad compatibility pleasseee. I know its semi integrated, but its a poor experience. I’d rate it a 5 even 10 star if I didn’t recently buy an iPad- excited to scan my 2018 Jauma- Tikka The Cosmic Cat and was hit by a poor user experience.. Help me sound interesting to my rich friends and improve iPad compatibility ASAP! Otherwise- legit the most banging wine app.

Great but now annoying. This app is great for allowing you to scan and rate the wines you drink. Great way to remember what you’ve tasted. However, the new introduction of ads on the app is super annoying and the subscription price is extremely expensive. There needs to be a once-off option just to remove the ads without the additional premium features. I have been an avid user of the app for years but am thinking of getting rid of it due to the ads.

Brilliant. Finds all the wines I have in my collection. Other Apps fail to search and find a large majority. Pricing helps when shopping in Dan Murphy’s as I have seen 50% off and all they did was double the price and then show 50% off bringing it back to the suggested price on Vivino. Rarely go there anyway as I prefer to taste at cellar door. I have poured too many store bought wines down the sink to get stuck with wine I have not tried before.

Great resource. Vivino is a really useful app to help you explore different wines. We often use it to find more wines from a winery or region we’ve discovered. It’s also a terrific way to help you remember what you’ve tasted and what you thought of those wines. We use it for wines from all over Europe and it lists wines from virtually every winery we try no matter how small and unknown they are. Highly recommended.

What a shame … subscription Imposition. I have used your app for such a long time and now see the useless ads & subscription requirement for accurate scanning and stats. I could understand ads for wine products, wineries to support this great app but to be taken to Candy Crush site??? Come on, this app has been degraded & whoever decided to adopt this model needs to be removed. If you want me to subscribe, provide it at a cheaper rate or increase the value of using the app. If you want us to use the app free but with ads, do not insult your users with mindless ads. I won’t say I’ll stop using this app but I’ll be searching for alternatives. What a shame this has occurred.

Great app. Not sure what your picking out? Take a photo of the label and see what real other people think. Tells you absolutely everything you will need to know about your wine. You can also buy a lot of wines from the app

Plagued with ads. Vivino used to be a great app, but now it’s just plagued with ads every time you click on that wine that you want to review you’re presented with an ad some of them range between 30 seconds to even a minute. It’s just a terrible experience now, and I would not recommend this app to anyone, unless Vivino changes the ads. Please reduce the amount of ads for a better experience

Not just for wine snobs.. What a great way to find out about a wine you have purchased or plan to purchase. Also an easy way to review and read the reviews of others.

Great Companion. I have been using the app for years now. It has come a long way and is easier to use than ever before. Not a wine expert, hence for me it’s about tracking what I liked and what not

My personal wine encyclopaedia. What a wonderful way to enjoy wine, remember the wines you have tasted, get info about the wine and get a fairly decent rating of each wine. Useful when wine shopping in overseas and local regions. Been recoding over 9 yrs with records of more than 3,500 wines

Great app until they started pushing ads with a ridiculous monthly fee to turn off. I use this app regularly - I and all the users around the world ARE the app. Without reviews it would be another retail site. Holding me hostage for AUD$8/month for next to no benefit other than turning off annoying irrelevant ads is a step too far. Please think about those who made your app successful - the regular contributors- and don't penalise them - WE ARE YOUR APP.

Best wine app ever. Best wine app for those who love wines. So many things you can use the app for and so easy to use. Great recommendations and tips from experts. Lots of information to help you decide what to buy, how to pair, and what to avoid.

Support. Hi, I’ve been loving the app thank you, but I’m having an issue with setting up on a new phone. I have made numerous attempts connecting support with no or little response. Unfortunately the email I used when setting up an account was not correct, I also can’t recall the password, being an invalid email I can’t correct either, is someone able to assist with this so I can get my account back.

Best Wine App. After six years usage, and using alternative apps in parallel, this is the ultimate. And then they add “Wine Adventures” to help my wine journey. I still rate the app 5 stars even though they won’t take up my request to provide an OPTION for a decimal rating. I don’t drink below 3.5 stars and can’t afford above 4 stars so have over a thousand personal ratings between 3.5 and 4 - all recorded as 3.5

Brilliant App. Vivino is a fantastic App you can use for a number of uses - to set up a record of your own wine collection, to go into a wine store & check the prices & quality of wines you may be interested in, to check the prices & quality of wine marketed to you by any of the online wine distributors, etc!

Privacy label is scary. I loved this app, but looking at the privacy label and all the data they collect is scary. Why would you need to track so much personal information for a wine app? Unfortunately I’ve deleted it from my phone now. Thank you Apple for enforcing transparency on data collection and helping un protect our privacy. Update: I’m guessing you just use the same canned response to any review with low rating without even reading them. It’d be nice if you actually answered the question above.

So, where can I buy the wine from?. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great app that I use almost every week. Being able to scan a wine, get reviews and other details is fantastic, but for me, however, the biggest flaw is the apps inability to provide me with an actual shop where I can go and purchase the wine. Instead, I am predominantly shown online stores, or cellars that are half a days drive away. All-in-all, a handy tool to have, but a lot of lost potential.

Great until ads came. Loved this app until they introduced really annoying hard to get rid of ads!! Trying to push you to their premium plan in this way is terrible marketing. Pushes me away to look for other similar apps. Disappointed Vivino as I’ve followed you since the start

Life Changing!. This app is the best! I use it every time I need to buy a wine. Extremely convenient you can scan bottles at the shops to get a quick review and score from other users. User interface is very easy to use. Always recommend this app to my friends.

Best wine ranking app. I use this for personal purposes to simply keep track of wines I’ve tasted and my experiences. It’s absolutely incredible for that. The database photo recognition when I snap a pic is accurate 99% of the time. Also Love other features like recommendations based off others I’ve liked, etc

Vivino is very useful. I like the Vivino app and find it very useful on a number of fronts. The camera feature where you can take a photo of the label and search for useful information on the wine (price, tasting notes, reviews etc) is very helpful. The comparison of your bottle to the rest of the world and the region of origin is great too.

New to Vivino. I have just started using Vivino and it seems impressive, but I’m only able to find some of the prices of the wines I have been searching so far. I have also started to add my cellar list to it and I think that this feature could do with some improvements - add a cellar location for each bottle - add a paid for value for each bottle - add cellar statistics (total number of bottles, total paid value, total estimated value, drink now, etc). Also , if I search for a wine and it is already in my cellar, it will tell me? Keep up the good work team Vivino!👍

Worst premium model ever. Why would anyone pay $8 per month to a wine app for premium content? Are you providing anything of value that is worth $96/year? wine challenges? Maybe if you provide the wine… that would make sense. But the customer has to go buy the wine. There’s many ways to monetize an app and get engagement and this one is the worst ways ever. Sadly what was a fun way to enjoy my wine, share my love of wine, buy wine from is now going down a pointless SASS model. Instead of rewarding people for the good content they provide you for “free” for you are charging useless monthly charges and adding intrusive ads to the experience. I’m not going to provide any worthy free content for you in future. All reviews are being scrapped of useful information.

Love this app but not the new ads!. I’ve used this app for a few years now and find it really useful, enlightening, and consistently reliable in the ratings. Very intuitive and easy to use. Lately though they’ve introduced ads which is horrible!

Why fix what isn’t broken?. What a pity! This used to be a fantastic app for saving my reviews of wines and reading what others think. Now it’s basically useless! I don’t even care that much about the scammer ads and the ridiculous $8 monthly fee to get rid of them (or get access to whatever content the creators say they will add). The label scanner function is now completely bodged. It takes over a minute for it to recognizing a bottle via the camera and while it loads it will automatically make the camera take 1-5 pictures of nothing. Trying to bypass this by loading a saved photo from the phone has never worked for me. I know have to resort to manually search for every wine I want to review. Finally, I can no longer find a way to add a new wine to the database which is a pity because I drink a lot of wine from smaller winemakers. I really hope the app owners will get the app working again as I don’t think there is any point for new users to download it. I will amend this review if it starts working properly again.

Wine beautiful Wine - without the dissapontment. Presented with a wine list; first step, budget, next style and region. Order a bottle and hope for the best. We taste the selection and .....:! Vivino oh Vivino, slide out the iPhone, snap a photo and select use and Vivino does the rest. I personally, would never select a Sangiovese. On Sunday, my wife and I shared a 350gm Veal steak on the bone at Noosa Wood Fired Grill and I “Viv’d” the wine list and the Sangiovese had 4.1 with many other reds in the mid 3’s. My wife volunteered to order a glass, which I tasted and could not fault. We had a very lazy afternoon eating excellent food and beautiful wine. Thank you Vivino.

So very easy to use. Great app and very easy to use. Free cellar component is great with average price very handy. Stopped me drinking a rather expensive wine I had when had prob had to much to savour it. Would be great if the app could have a feature that automatically estimates the value of the wines in your cellar. Cheers

Outstanding real wine info, User friendly & V Helpful. Vivino continues to impress, as they refine their website, increase use of data mining and AI technology, they keep me informed with real users feedback on every wine I look for. Even when my bottle can “Not be Found” Vivino produces great suggestions for a similar wine that I should like. Awesome for me!! Jamieson

Long terrible Adverts and the awkward floating P that gets in the way. The application was great but the user experience has taken a dive with the introduction of long awkward adverts and a patchy database of wine spanning the last four years. That glaring P pushing the ridiculously over priced monthly subscription is a hilarious way to degrade the premium feel this application once had. Out of the 14 pack of wine I received this month (7/23) more than half weren’t in the database yet somehow $7 a month for this app is justified? I would have paid a once off fee for a will put together cellar tracker but there’s absolutely no value in a subscription model for this app.

Best wine app and cellar tracking app. I have been using Vivino for awhile now and keep learning new features. The review of wines is great for you to keep track of your wines tasted, plus see other reviews of wines to might like. The cellar tracking function is great to keep track of your own wines. Plus the wine adventures are fun and educational improving your knowledge and wine appreciation level/skills. Love this app.

Excellent. All but one wine I’ve ever scanned on this app has been identified and rated. I use it every time I’m trying to decide on a wine. My only criticism would be that the average price for each wine is generally way higher than what is listed. I don’t know if that’s because I’m in Australia but it can be a little misleading. Overall a great app that I love!

Good app but needs to allow sharing. I like most of the functionality in this app but in this day and age it really should allow a family member to be added to an account’s cellar. It’s rare that only one person in a home would enjoy wine so allowing couples to manage their cellar together makes a lot of sense. Would be five stars with that feature.

Used to be awesome. Since people have discovered this app it has detracted from the integrity of the reviews. Becoming another Tripadvisor but for wine; where good reviews pertain more to the ineptitude of the reviewer than the the quality of the product. Having said that the app in itself is fantastic whether you know a lot about wine or not. I just hope that people who know nothing about wind don’t continue reviewing and skewing the current accurate ratings.

Love this app but... I have had this app for years now. I have seen it growing to become better and better like a fine wine. I absolutely love it and have introduced it to so many friends of mine who have now Learn to appreciate wine and look for what they love. But it is a shame that the iPhone and online platform don’t work together. I don’t understand how I can review and edit the wines in my cellar only on my phone but not on the online platform. I don’t care to see ALL the wines I have scanned on my online profile. I want the option to review/edit and manage my cellar on my computer. I really hope the developers fix this issue as it could become as well as an amazing discovering/learning platform for wines but probably the best cellar managing online platform. Please fix this. Thanks.

New Phone, Lost Wines, Can’t Reset password. I got a new iphone, was appalled to discover all the wines I’d scanned were no longer in my Vivino App. Tried to log in on the new phone in the hope that’d find my wines and couldn’t remember the password. Hit the reset password link, got the email with the link in the email to reset the password & that took me back to the app but nowhere near anything to do with resetting passwords - total blank and completely useless. Don’t Vivino test the processes they put in place??

Great reference app. Use regularly and a good talking app with friends who appreciate wine. Only issue for me, is I would be more likely to buy wine from this site if there was an option to buy pack of 6 rather than the 12 required. This is especially true when buying and trying a new wine for me. No longer an issue, now buying or 6 packs .

Fantastic wine tool. This app is excellent for anyone who drinks wine. Over time it works out what you like and scores each wine as a match. Definitely worth having and using it at a dinner party is real conversation starter. The more people who use it and rate wines, the better for all.

Used to be great, recently awful. This app was a great way to scan and keep track of wines, but the quality of the user experience has suddenly and inexplicably been destroyed by intrusive advertisements and an utterly ridiculous “premium” model. What used to be an elegant UI has degenerated to the sort of ad-spam that you’d expect to see on a dodgy arcade game. What’s even more outrageous is that there was no warning this was coming, it was just sprung upon users out of nowhere. When the first ad appeared I was so taken aback by how out of place it was that I thought maybe my phone had just been hacked. I am genuinely curious whose bright idea it was to charge the very users generating the content that forms the backbone of this platform? Or perhaps the developers just decided they could make some quick money in the short-run by running ad-spam? Either way, it shows that they clearly don’t care about wine, and the repetitional damage caused by this greed will most-likely have lasting consequences. Uninstalling.

Excellent app. If only it included a data base... My cellar is a grid but I’m hopeless at adequately recording my wines. I have another data base that I pay for each year but updating it is laborious. Being able to scan the label, add the position and have my and others reviews at hand would be very useful.

Great but…. I love the app however I’ve noticed that Vivino doesn’t have quality control over the community based review system. Frequently scores for a particular varietal are mixed up distorting the overall score. For example the Turkey Flat Shiraz scores include a high number which actually relate to the TF rose. Annoyingly there doesn’t seem to be any avenue in the app to provide such feedback to Vivino

Excels in all but one critical area. This app is amazingly useful across many front except as a log of wines consumed (unless you religiously rate each wine you drink). There is no "my wine history" section to easily view your wines and notes and instead "My Wines" which is a noisy inbox.

Vivino fan…. Am big Vivino fan - great for buying good booze at the right price the world over. I use Vivino when buying from Langton’s - it’s mostly right; except the odd idiot that says excellent wine but gives <3. Highly recommended

Very clever, amazing wine tool. Most used App by a long long way! Vivino works amazing well, occasionally the year is incorrect - but that is an easy edit to fix. I find it incredibly useful for both home & work - full marks from me 10/10

Fantastic wine app. This is the best app when travelling or going to restaurants with unfamiliar wines. You can quickly scan the wine list and find something that matches your taste profile. Also great to remember that good wine you drank last year. You can date and have a location on where you drank it.

Great Wine App!! 🏆🏆. Love the way it profiles your taste and recommends for you. The Wine List option is a great time saver. (Would be good to not only RME are the wines, but also match to your taste profile. Maybe a later update??) I would recommend to anyone and it’s a fun app to use. ✅✅

Vivino a great source of info. Just love this app it’s such a great and timely way to look for great buys both through price and ratings, it’s also great to just simply check whether the stores are doing the right thing for customers in their specials.

Very disappointed with the addition of advertising - no longer usable. After using the application for rating wines, researching wines and buying wines for many years now, the most recent update has wrecked the application. It is no longer usable the ads run so long and you have no functionality until they finish. Worse they are not even slightly relevant. And no sorry I am not going to pay $7.95 per month for access to research and help crowd source the platform. Monetising the platform is fine, this has ruined it. Get rid of the ads and I will start using it again, until then I am looking for an alternative.

Absolute rubbish now. This used to be my go to app for wine, now it’s unusable rubbish. You have to wait minutes watching mindless ads before you can look at information about a wine. You want to look at another bottle, you see the same ads again. I went to show an old friend details about a wine I was excited about, and was completely embarrassed with a video of a woman in underpants. We provided this app all of its information on reviews, it got people excited about wines and led to people buying wine through this app. Now we are told, pay $8/month for the privilege. What absolute rot.

Learning, recording & meeting. Vivino is a terrific wine app. The great community and structure of app have taught me a ton about wine. It pushes me to be more diverse and informed. It also is my cellar tracker and memory prod. And the people on it are consistently generous - and if you look - knowledgeable.

Great app for wine lovers and novices alike. Great app for wine lovers and novices alike

Vivino App. I have been using Vivino for a few years now and can say I am very happy with it. It stored my favourites and when I don't know much about a wine I get real feedback from users. It's saved me a ton of money from bad descriptions on wine labels.

Twisted results. Star ratings haven’t disappointed.

Lost all my wines!!!. Crazy that after years of being a loyal customer my entire account got deleted

Lost a valuable part if this app. Why did we loss the percent fit of a wine with my taste profile? This new system of a thumb up/down is erroneous and a poor discriminator of wines. The most powerful function is lost for this app.

Excellent. Quite simply the best wine app available. Nothing else comes close.

Amazing app for Wine lovers. This app helps me pick out new wines. It’s absolutely amazing and is extremely helpful when buying best wine app out there!wines at any price point.

Fantastic. Easy place to journal your wine for future reference. Also great to check out reviews on new wines. Highly recommend.

Great wine assistant. Love this app. Fast and accurate. Never been disappointed. Thanks Peter

Great app easy to use. I have been using the app for a number of years, it’s very easy to use and a lot of great features! Would love to see sugar content added and also move the ‘add price’ to the same location as add to cellar do you don’t have to go in twice.

Vivino. Pleased to say I use this app regularly and I find it very helpful in assessing the wines I’ve bought and/or about to purchase!

Needs account. I used it for the first time in years today and it challenged me to create an account. All I want to do is read, there should be no reason to require an account.

iPad app would be awesome. I like everything about this app. Really in love with the rating of how the app think you will like the wine based on historical data. There are 2 things preventing me from awarding 5 stars: iPad app and dark mode support.

Would not be without it!. This app is phenomenal, I wouldn’t be without it. At liquor stores you can lookup or scan bottles, at restaurants you can search wines in the wine list. I have found the reviews to be accurate and helpful, an absolute priceless app!

Memo Naf. Okay

🍇🍒 A must for wine lovers 🍷 🥂. This is a great app that should appeal to wine lovers everywhere. Its surprising the vast range of wines they cover. I’m sure Vivino must have users in almost every country in the world! In addition Vivino is a wonderful place to learn more about these grape based liquids we love so much, I just did a tutorial on tasting in the last few days! One of the best downloads I’ve ever put on my phone. 😀

Vivino. Application parfaite mais ne donne pas une estimation de la valeur du cellier !

Love Vivino App. We use it often. While we have our fave wines, we also regularly try new ones, and this has become our “gospel” “go to” resource. The reviews from the thousands of other Vivino users often fall in line with our thoughts….. Also, this app has no annoying pop-ups, etc…. Very solid and useful app.

Questions. 1) is there anywhere where you ( the wine maker) suggest the longitivtiy of the wine. Am I missing the obvious 2) the price quotes - are they in the country currency- converted already- ( I live in Canada ) or is everything in US dollars.

Best Wine App!!. Really love this app to learn about all wines. . Anything you need to know about certain wine and what they pair best with is right here and simple to find.

Awesome. I have been using this AP now for several months for my personal use and at my work. It is an amazing community of wine lovers and the AP support team is great with quick replies to questions. The data base continues to grow and grow and the insight we gain from each other about our shared passion for wine is incredible. Whether you are a trained sommolier or just trying wine for the first time this AP is for you !!!! Bryan Reif

Very good app. It’s incredibly convenient to be able to take a pic of any wine and get a description of it. Especially the graph showing dryness and boldness.

So fun, convenient, professionally aesthetic and user friendly!. I’ve had this app for a few years now and I absolutely love this app. Both my boyfriend and I highly enjoy using it. I LOVE the quick and simple feature of opening up the camera in the app and it immediately connecting you with the right wine. How easy? Best app ever. I love how it gets to know my taste and tells me recommendations or how likely I am to like a certain wine. And it’s aesthetically pleasing. 10/10

Superb service especially in store!. I use Vivino regularly particularly when I’m visiting a new wine store with products unfamiliar to me!

Amazing app!. Would recommend to anyone

Excellent helper at the store. Always referring to Vivino ratings!

Excellente app. Super

Loisir sophistiqué. Toujours intéressant de qualifier et de quantifier des vins disponibles au privé. Le seul problème avec l’application est qu’il ne semble pas pouvoir assurer la livraison au Québec. Je suis patient…

Good value. Great wine for pasta or steak or prime rib Full body Smooth Dry

A Trusted Tool. So easy to use, great information about so many wine topics, love reading the comments of others, ratings are a great help when considering a wine new to you, especially after you have built a profile of your likes. One of the first things I check is to what degree the wine suits my tastes. I use this app several times weekly. Love it

Useful. Not only is this a great app. It’s fun to do and helps me decide on what I like and what I don’t. It also lets me see how cheap me friends are.

Even discount prices marked up. Very useful app for comparing wines and ratings from thousands of people. Excellent from a learning perspective. But after a couple orders and then realizing most of the wine came from BSW liquor I compared prices. Wow. I would have saved on some bottles over $15 a bottle…. and that was “discounted” on Vivino. Every bottle was cheaper if I had ordered directly from BSW. Shame on me for not researching but now I know. App is great for learning and reading. Just likely won’t order again.

Where is Quick Compare. Still looking for an answer on where the mentioned Quick Compare is. It’s not in the camera section. Is this feature even available?

Rating scale. I’m not sure why my ranking doesn’t go up much. I see people ranked in front of me that haven’t written a review in weeks. And some hardly write much in their reviews!! Makes no sense to me!

Sent the wrong wine. I am one of Vivino’s biggest supporters, but I’m incredibly disappointed with the ordering system. After being recommended wines to buy through Vivino constantly, I finally decided to buy a case of wine I wouldn’t otherwise be able to buy (not sold in my region). So I pay for shipping, wait a week, and when I finally get it… it’s the wrong wine. So I go to Orders and guess what, there’s no contact option, no help option, nothing. I was able to submit an email request, but until I hear back this is going to have to remain a 1-star (despite loving the rest of the app’s functionality) given I just wasted almost $500. Edit: as time has passed I’ve also become increasingly frustrated with the search functionality. For instance, when searching for wines in X country it will only show you wines they have for sale.

Great information. I appreciate being able to look up ratings and use it to determine which wine to buy. Like another reviewer says it saves me money and I can trust the ratings, great information

Vivino review. Vivino is a fun, helpful and educational app for wine lovers. It’s fun to use at the liquor store for exploring new wines or at a restaurant when looking to pair a wine to your favourite meal.

Slay It Zinfandel. Lovely big red for bbq steak! A rich red with tastes of dark berries and chocolate!

Maximizes your dollar. Vivino is the best tool available for anyone trying to get the most wine for there dollar.

Update!. Getting more than somewhat frustrated! Get message I need more current iOS to update Vivino info, BUT can’t get either older update, as suggested, or the newer one, one which my cell is not! Guess my interest is not of concern!!!

This app. A wonderful tool for those navigating the ever expanding complex world of wine

Vivino. I rely on this app to tell me all about a lot of lines that I do not know. I find it quite accurate

Nice app. What a nice app. Well thought out. I’m so happy with it.

POS app. Cannot you unsubscribe from the 100,000 emails you get on a daily basis.

Pas disponible. L’application me présente des choix d’achat qui sont la plupart du temps non disponible pour être livré chez moi ! Il me semble qu’avec mon adresse dans le profil c’est pas difficile

Wine app. Great app, tells me about the wine amd I can always go back and find the wine again

Granular Ratings for iPad. Why aren’t there more granular ratings for iPad? I’ve got it for my phone, but not my iPad. Lots of ads, too.

Wish I search by characteristics. This app offers a rating match but doesn’t explain why. I’d prefer to search by my preference and to set my own taste - I like full, earthy, dry… not too juicy or sweet. When the app calculates its match rating it’s just comparing it to other wines you’ve rated… I wish I could set taste settings myself and then search by those… The app does have an incredible inventory of wines! And I grateful i can look wines up and learn a bit while shopping! That part is amazing!

My go to source. I love the ability to check an untested wine and determine how it is going to fit with our meal or just in a glass for sipping.

Bad programming? UX < Selling you things. I’ve heard good things, I don’t know if it is just me or a bad iteration of an app update, but I had a really frustrating experience. I started using it and was optimistic, but then whenever I clicked the “for you” tab at the bottom right, it’d flash for a moment, then take me directly back to the shopping center. I wanted to view my adds, collections, etc, but I couldn’t do that because it would only let me access the part of the app where they try to sell you things. Made an account, verified it, didn’t change anything. Redownloaded, no change. I assume it’s a glitch, but frankly isn’t worth my time when all I want to do is track wine inventory, not be constantly sold something.

Teaching Customers about Vivino. I got Sommelier certification 12 years ago while working in corporate America. Retired now, I enjoy working part time in a Wine store and selling wines to patrons. Quite often these customers are challenged to find the wine style they prefer. I pull out my iPhone and show them how Vivino can help them identify what I call the “taste curve” - that 3 or 4 scale display of boldness, softness, tannic structure and sweetness levels. Many customers download this app instantly I the store! They all thank me for enlightening them and showing them Vivino. I should get a commission….LOL.

Pretty good app. Love being able to scan wines to see their rating as well as seeing global ratings. Great reference for when you’re strolling the store to see what others think. I’d like to see the cellar feature expanded just slightly. It’s a nice feature to have all in one app and I like how it saves the date of purchase, but I’d like to be able to save the price I paid as well. I also wish the ratings were expanded so you could rate per tenth (like 3.9 or 4.2). It is too narrow a range currently. Still overall really good app!!

THE authority on wines. I used other wine ratings but none matches the effectiveness and validity of Vivino. It is simple to use and captures everything you need in one app. What is more simple than taking a photo of a label and getting opinions in seconded from all over the world by people, like me, who enjoy wine and the experience it captures. To be certain the ratings are valid, make certain there is an adequate number rating the wine. It could be easy to game a system by a winery or distributor loading up ratings but you can gauge that by looking at the ratings themselves and judging whether they are substantive.

Love ❤️ Vivino. Highly recommend this application- User friendly and has some great features. One of my favorites is the ability after placing an order you have the option to “add order to your cellar” it automatically loads the information of each wine you purchased into your cellar. A big time saver! The date of purchase, prices, wine ratings and suppliers are all loaded into your cellar as well. Great for tracking and remembering when the wines were delivered thereby you know how how it has been storage.

Best Wine App On The Market. I am a sommelier, who has used a few different apps just to catalogue the wines I’ve tasted. Vivino surpassed them all with ease of use, photo scanning and recognition, and the ability to shop directly in the app. I still prefer to support my local wine shops when I can, but the ability to select multiple vintages at the tap of a finger is amazing. This app is great for everyone. Whether you’re just starting to enjoy wine, looking for something similar to what you know you like, or searching for bottles you can’t find on shelves in your area... this app has it all.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. After spending thousands of dollars buying wine from this site, I received a shipment...late... which obviously contained broken bottles. I contacted customer service, supplied requested photos... and waited more than a month while I received emails thanking me for my patience while they tried to contact the merchant (sketchy, right?). Finally after asking for a refund of about $40 for the 3 broken bottles, I was told I needed to return them in order to get a refund! What??? I was supposed to keep a soaking wet box, full of broken glass and falling apart for a month for a refund of $40??? NEVER BUY WINE FROM THIS APP!!!

Amazing Learning Tool. I used to just use the app when I would buy wine from Grocery outlet to learn about the flavor profiles and notes and try to expand my pallet based on what others reviews of the wine, it works amazing for that. I recently learned about the feature that recommends wine based on the type of food you are eating, and decided i had to review this awesome app. Now friends ask me to pick the wine because I “seem like i know wine” after using this app for 6 months. Now i can just look up whatever we are cooking, find a recommended wine and go in with all the things to impress all my friends and relatives. Then I say i learned it all from Vivino!

Phenomenal information and record keeping system for wine lovers. I really enjoy wine, and I am learning more about it although I am certainly not an expert. I have a terrible memory and for years I would write down wines that I liked and random scraps of paper only to lose them or discover them years later! This application is absolutely wonderful as it lets you record what you like (or don’t like) find out more about it find out some more wines and unlike so many others it is very easy and intuitive to use would recommend it to anyone

Vivino’s Wine Wall: Premium Misstep or Greedy Ploy?. I’ve been an avid and frequent user of Vivino for several years now, appreciating its simplicity and the communal feel it brought to wine enthusiasts. However, the recent introduction of a ‘premium’ paid subscription tier has been a major disappointment. Not only does it undermine the egalitarian spirit of the app, but it also feels like a cash grab at the expense of loyal users. We initially loved Vivino for its accessibility and the way it leveled the playing field for wine lovers. Introducing a paywall for certain features just feels ridiculous and out of touch. It’s high time an alternative app is built, one that doesn’t need to charge users monthly subscription fees because its business model finds more intelligent ways to generate revenue. Unfortunately, as it stands, it might be time to look elsewhere.

Usually great but big fail... issue resolved. A couple of weeks ago I made a significant wine purchase and requested a delay in delivery because I was out of town in the upcoming week. I received an e-mail confirmation of a hold from Vivino representative but the shipment went out anyway and sat in a UPS wearhouse for a week. One of the representatives offered to let me return the wine but then the emails started... Bottom line - 2 conversations with Vivino reps on the phone and numerous emails without resolution. UPDATE: Issue RESOLVED. Took a few weeks but very satisfied with the outcome. Thank you Cedric, Ceed and Vivino. Back on track to order more wine from you. Cheers

What’s there not to like??. Easy to use. Can save a database of my wines - what I love what I hate. By logging it I’m able to understand what I like more and now I rarely pick a (not-so-great) wine for dinner. I haven’t added any friends but I haven’t needed to in order to enjoy the app. Love the option of taking a pic or being able to search it. Awesome to see the rating, price, pic, and one or two expert reviews with minimal scrolling - helps me pick quickly at the grocery store. While I don’t keep enough wine at home to need to use the cellar function, love that it is there. Great job, Vivino! Bravo!

Awesome except for one thing…. Please stop adding EVERY wine I scan to my cellar! Most people use this app to rate wines they’ve tasted, but many people use it at the liquor store to assess wines they’re not familiar with. It’s super frustrating to have these wines live forever in my cellar, unrated, not knowing why they’re there! Please give the users an option to say whether they’ve tried the wine, or are just trying to do research/look things up. Otherwise - app is awesome, love the recent changes you’ve made to adding additional an additional information toggle at the top of the wine page.

Matching % no longer available. I used to love Vivino. Recommended it to multiple people. We rate every wine we have, so the best feature is when we come across new wines, we could scan the label and it would let us know what % of a match it was for us based on our taste profiles. For example, if I scan Austin Hope, it will say 95% match. They have now changed this feature to say either “good match” or “bad match”?! What does that mean? Nothing tells me what their parameters are for a “good match”. So if it’s 51% does that make it a “good match”? I have no idea. And I’m certainly not going to buy a bottle based on 51%. It appears you now have to pay a premium for a feature that has always been free. I will no longer be using or recommending this app.

Loved app for ratings but do not buy. I’ve used this app for a few years. It’s helpful in choosing wine in a store. For some unknown reason though the app hasn’t kept all of my ratings. I’ve done many more than profile indicates. Also, a friend bought a wine through them. It was really good and free shipping was appealing. So, I decided to try them. But, customer service is severely lacking. When the wine was delayed it was hard to get a tracking number. Then the day I did, tracking revealed that is was damaged and discarded. I really wanted to get the same wine, but they said it was no longer available at the same price. No attempt was made to give me any other choices and the refund took several days to be done- after I disputed with credit card. They really don’t care to retain customers, so I’ll move on to another app.

An absolute must for anyone that drinks wine. Initially I used the app to see the testing of every bottle before I buy or to scan for the best values in a wine list or at the store. It works marvelously for that. I don’t take chances on wine anymore and only buy wines after researching them. Today I use it also to remember what I thought of a wine or a vintage, and also what other users I respect, also think about it. I have scanned more than a few wines I did not remember I had tried before. My only regret is that I did not start using it years ago.

A great app. Really enough said. If you like wine in even a peripheral sense this app is a must have. A weapon in the war against bad choices. But be wary still, don’t let it scare you from some of the lesser known or explored wines, those ratings are highly variable due to sample size alone. But that’ll be a while down the road anyway — don’t worry about that yet my dear neophyte!! Just download this app and immediately have less anxiety. Whether you’re buying your favorite go-to varietal or exploring the unknowns of the wide and wild world of wine this app rules and provides you not only with guardrails but a community. Cheers!

Don’t trust the vintage you are ordering. After several years of good experience I am more than frustrated with Vivino. Joined the club since there is always a free bottle per case and free shipping. Received 2 orders in a row with a newer vintage. No chance to select “no vintage replacement “ on the order and no mail to check if a replacement would be ok prior to shipping. As a result I canceled my membership. Recently wanted to give it another try. Rejoined and ordered a case of a vintage I very much liked. Same issue again. A newer vintage was shipped ans same note as always in the box. Try it and if you don’t like it we will make it right. I did and hated the vintage. So I had to return the box. Arrived at the seller 5 days ago and still no refund or even acknowledgement that the return was received. Will cancel again for good.

Great; but needs fine tuning. I have used it for years. In the beginning, it was easy to tell if they had the wine on file. As time has gone on, the accuracy has suffered some - say, for instance Vivono identifying a Chardonnay as a Pinot Noir, a Lagrein as a Schiava. If you are watchful, you can figure it out. But you really have to pay attention. The list is way bigger, so there are more wines on file. But, don’t always trust it. I also catch quite a number of wines listed under one wine that are for another varietal. I don’t like that. I also wish there was a better way to report errors.

Drink BETTER Wine. I drink better wine by using this App!! You should too. It increases the probability that the new wine I’m considering buying is going taste good TO ME. It works great in the grocery store, at the wine bar or shop, or at the restaurant. The photo identification function works without glitch. 95+ % of the bottles I have scanned have been auto identified!! Get this app and practice with it. Like any tool, it gets better with experience. I have never found a better FREE app. I use other monthly fee apps to review wines and I would drop every one of them before dropping Vivino. I do not have any relationship with Vivino or it’s owners, I’m just a regular guy that enjoys good wines.

Happy except for one thing. I’m giving Vivino a 1 Star because they don’t deserve an average rating of 4.8. I do this for one reason. Users should have the option to rate wines at the upper end with more granularity. A 3.8 wine is not a 3.5 or a 4, yet I’m forced to choose. I suspect many of us tend to rate the 3.8 wine a 3.5 because it would feel more inaccurate to rate it a 4. This leads to wines that are not deserving of a 4 moving toward 3.5. I certainly don’t want my followers to think I loved a 3.8 enough to give it a 4. My other pet peeve is that when I buy a wine to add it to my cellar, I have two separate actions - one to set its price and where I bought it - and another to add a quantity to my cellar. It would help too if the list of shops I buy most frequently from was at the top instead of way down at the bottom.

Great way to find good wines!. I LOVE this app. I use it all the time. My favorite thing about it is if I review a wine it’s also for myself so when I scan it again I know oh, I had this one before & I liked it. Or I had this one before & it was terrible! Good way to keep track since there’s so many wines in the world to choose from. It’s also organized great with the bars to show how sweet or how dry, how many times reviews mention certain flavor descriptions. Really an awesome app. Rule of thumb for me is anything rated above 3.5 or higher (with plenty of reviews) is usually always a good wine. 👍🏻

Purchase delays. The ap is good for guiding a shopper while perusing wine in a store. It is fun to use. I am not so sure about their wine ratings. They seem over-hyped to me. Buying wine from them is a different matter. I tried them out to see what would happen if I purchased wine from them. I ordered six bottles of wine through Vivino and it took almost two months until delivery. It may have been because of where I live...Alabama. Wine delivery here has to go through the state controlled ABC stores and a tax must be paid before release. Unfortunately, I blame Vivino for incompetence in the delivery process. They delayed, delayed, delayed, even after notifying me the wine was shipped the week I ordered it, and with each correspondence reassuring me that the wine “is being readied for shipment.”

So many wines!!!!. I love this wine app! It helps me sort and store my wine cellar . Multiple ways to search for my wines and you can put in buying notes, cellar notes, and drinking notes. All very easy to use. And then the picture taking label to find out about a wine. I love this part!! I always use it when purchasing wine . I can find out most pertinent information and average price. I always hope I’m finding the diamond in the rough and getting a great deal! 😄 I do love this app and I use it daily to weekly for sure.

4.5 stars. Vivino is a great tool to have available when you are out buying wine. When you aren’t sure whether you should take a chance on some bottle of wine (or a half case of wine) it is great to see how the wine is rated (and particularly by how many people rated it a lot or a few) and the flavors, special comments like it need to air out for an hour or maybe the approximate cost. One thing I would like to see that isn’t readily available is the ABV alcohol %. Vivino to wine buyers is like having GPS in your car. Need I say more?

A must have app for every wine purchaser. Vivino is the quintessential app for all wine lovers. I use the reviews for my own purchases and especially for gift buys for family and friends. The reviews allow me the opportunity to investigate virtually every bottle in my price range and taste profile. I rarely purchase any bottle anywhere without a quick consult with regular wine folks on Vivino. I really value to honest opinions of those on the site that share their expertise. No less important however is the daily wine bottle shopper. I learn from both. Apps come and go. This one is the gold standard for wine lovers everywhere.

Can I make one suggestion!. Okay so I like the app and it’s great I use every time I got to the store to see what I’m getting. The problem is that I’m picky and by the time I find the ones I like I have scanned 10 or 15 that I didn’t buy. So I must go in and delete them. Perhaps the scan option can be separated from putting them on my wines list. I scan it and if I didn’t like what I saw I put the bottle back and scan another. The. if I decide to buy it using a button its added it to my cellar list. From there I can rate it later and when it rate it it removes it from my cellar list placing it in the rated list. This should be simple no?

One of the most used Apps on my phone. One of the most used apps on my phone? It never ceases to amaze my wife and I at the depth of the data this app has. We can even scan a wine menu to pick the unknown gems. It also helps us avoid the over hyped dogs. Only way this could be better is if it tracked my wine cellar. With so many wines with similar names, it’s great to have a clear look at what you’re buying or drinking, also, remembering a great wines served at a wine tasting or at a friends houses. We refer back to previous searches all the time. Keep up the great work

Life saver at a wine store or restaurant.. I’m very iffy about wine “ratings” and scores, but there’s something to be said for crowdsourcing a second opinion. Although, I mostly find myself reading scanned wine reviews and notes, I do rely on the scores sometimes to cut through the noise and focus on what’s been praised. The image recognition on the label is amazing and the added ability to turn on the flashlight is definitely helpful. The wine list scanner is a great bonus but I’d say it’s about 55-65% accurate (depending on lighting and list format). Definitely the best wine app I’ve tried; I wish they had this for whiskey.

Great app for wine rating / cataloging. Terrible for ordering wine through third party shippers.. Have used Vivino for years. I have never had as bad an experience as I have had with ordering wine through them as this year, 2019. I ordered some wine and it was fulfilled by Yiannis wine in Virginia Beach. They never shipped it even though they said they did. I had to call customer support and have Vivino get involved to have my wine shipped. Still waiting for it. Don’t use Vivino to buy wine or to have them ship from a third party fulfillment shop, you’ll be left empty handed. Great app for rating and cataloging wines. Terrible for buying wine.

Awesome Tool!. Really really great idea for an app. It's well made, easy to use, and most importantly it works. It works really well. There are a few small things I would like to see changed. For example, if I want to recommend a wine for a friend who has the app, I would like to have the option of sending the recommendation through the app instead of through text or email. It would make things easier to navigate with less room for malfunction (which I have experienced a bit of when trying to open a recommendation link in a text message). Overall I love the app. It's going to make buying wine a whole lot easier and finding wines I like a whole lot more intriguing.

Indispensable app for wine lovers. I use Vivino all of the time to help me select wines. It has a vast library of rated wines. When I was in Spain and Portugal last year, I used it on every bottle I ordered and there were only one or two bottles not in the system. And I’m talking about wines I had never heard of and in places well off the beaten tourist track. At some of the small Spanish restaurants, we’d have them bring out 4 or 5 bottles which I would scan with the app and we’d choose the highest scoring wine. I’ve found that the ratings are a good indicator of the quality of the wine and rarely disagree.

Don’t get this app. The customer service is awful. People need to know they will do nothing to help you out. I ordered 9 bottles of wine costing over $300 with the app stating it would be shipped out within 1-3 days. After waiting 4 days I cokntacting them snd they stated they would contact the merchant. Received a standard automated email stating they were sorry for the delay and would look into it. Next day I contacted and emailed them… standard response they would get me an answer within in the day. Ten days after I ordered I was still getting the automated email. Called spoked to Tim who had no answers… told him to cancel my orders so was told they would need to speak to the merchant.. asked for his supervisor. Ordered cancelled … ordered at Total Wines … received wines within 6 days!! Don’t use this company!!!!

Choice. Whenever your looking for the right 4.0 and above wine. Vivino always picks out the best! If there is a price range you need to be in, the app will let you know! I used to just get the popular ones but some of those are a 3.5 and below, but once you get the 4.0’s and above you’ll always use the app.! Just take the picture and start your collection! Be sure and see how many people reviewed it, of course the higher the number the better. Seldom but every now and then there is one it can’t identify, it usually reports to the same maker. Cheers! JC~

Overall good simple app. App works well most of the time and I like reading others’ tasting notes. Some tasting notes are better than others, obviously. I can usually find most wine I scan and when I can’t it’s easy to add. Room for improvement: ability to share a cellar. My husband and I both buy wine for and drink from the cellar, but you can’t share or edit the cellar together. Either each of us has to add everything to the cellar or only one of us keeps it. Right now he keeps it and I have to remember send him info on the wine I buy or drink so he can update the cellar. Would be great if we could each add/remove from a shared cellar.

Perfect App. Vivino is by far the best app out there for the wine lover. It has helped me immensely in my journey to learn about and understand wine. The rating system is easy and straight forward and the reviews are helpful for determining if I will enjoy a wine. The ranking system makes for a fun competition with my friends and ordering wine is too easy. I just made my first order from Vivino and received my wine fast! Don’t settle for what the stores are pushing you to buy. Order on Vivino and get bottles you can’t find in the big stores. Great job. 10 stars !

Vivino - A Great Wine App!. I have been using Vivino for several years, and find it indispensable at this point. My wife and I are wine drinkers and we’re lucky to live in a place (NH) where the state-run liquor stores carry an amazing and informed selection of wines from around the world. With Vivino, a simple picture of the bottle’s label gives you background information on the wine and vineyard, points you to similar types of wine, gives you the option to rate it yourself, and even gives pricing information and places to purchase it. Excellent app!

Indispensable Wine Tool. I have been using Vivino for more than a year now and it is firmly integrated into my wine drinking and wine purchasing. It has become the indispensable partner to my wine enjoyment and education. More than just a community rating system, the Vino allows me to track every wine I taste. That cheap and sure for reception wine passed by a caterers assistant? Zapit and look it up later. At a winery doing a complex flight of tastings? Keep track of it all and record your notes in a flash. Importantly, have fond memories of wine for a faraway trip and need to add a bottle to satisfy a craving? The Vino can do that too. And you might just get free shipping. Five out of five would do again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another Nice App Making One Sign Up. I used to like this app when either deciding on buying a wine or looking for similar wines. I enjoyed the fact that one need not sign up to use it. But alas, something has changed. One can no longer use the app unless you sign in via email or some other way. Even though in the privacy notes it specifically states - Please note, that you may use our Platform without signing up, in which case we will only collect data based on your consent to our cookie policy that you may find in 'Categories of personal data' I find that the use of cookies should be sufficient but no; one now needs to sign in. I believe it should be optional as it has been, so because of this, I will be deleting the app and find something else.

I Rarely Rank! This is a must have!. I can count on 1 hand how many reviews I have written for apps and after this review that count is 1. I like wine. I like going to wineries tasting wines from all over the world for me it is an act of exploration. I have dragged my wife kids all over: Rhône Valley, Tuscany, Alto Adige, Dalmatia, and the Napa, Sonoma and Livermore Valleys. I lived in Europe for 3 years and and became appalled by the cost of wine in the US. My experience is the avg bottle in a grocery store for par quality is 2 to 3x in the US vs Europe. There are many factors contributing to this, but it pains me to pay so much in the US for the quality of wine I enjoy. This app lets me find some of favorites that I have sampled in Europe that are available in small shops across the US at very reasonable prices. It also creates a marketplace putting pressure on wine prices for producers in the US and serves up deals to fill my wine fridge. But wait there is more!!! I can catalog my wine cellar, learn about wine and contribute to a global community of like minded enophiles. Well done Vivino!

Do Not Use to Purchase Wine. Ordered a case August 2nd. Vivino charged me August 2nd. By August the 14th I had heard nothing. No confirmation, no estimated date of delivery; zilch. I contacted Vivino though the App. I received an automated reply (the software is awake and on duty). The next day, 13 days after my order, I received a message that started with, and I quote, “your order XXXX has been confirmed.” On the 15th of August I was informed they would have the wine Friday (the 17th) and would ship Monday (the 20th). A few days later I requested an update. Again today, the 30th, I have requested an update. Nothing. Never once have they initiated communication. They only respond and, obviously, with bad information or non-truths. I am very frustrated and am now wondering if I have been scammed. Stay away from Vivino.

Useful tool for beginners & experts. This is a tremendously useful resource for keeping track of the wines I like (or dislike). Sometimes I can’t remember if I’ve tried something, but I can use this app to verify. Basically, I use this as a personal record rather than for purchasing purposes. Everyone’s tastes are so different, and most of the wines end up with a mid-range rating because people with vastly different preferences or experience levels are rating them. It useful to see what tasting notes others noticed, but I wouldn’t put too much weight on that.

Requires login and thus one star!!!. Requires login and thus one star!!! No star if it was possible!!! I used this app on and off for a long time, especially when travelling and I liked it. After I updated the app requires login which means it is collecting personal information and sending users trash mail. I would rather pay a one time fee of few dollars but as I understand, the developer is getting paid already by people buying wine through the app. Thus no login should be required. Update after response from the developer: The developer responded with a standard reply from them which can be seen to many other reviews. They request I either contact them via their web (so they can get my email 😊 ) or via the app which I am unable to do because I must log in to use the app. That is just not happening. I am just saying they need to roll back time and stop requiring users to log in. I don’t need to send an email for that. This shows me, no one even read the review I gave, they just responded to the one star. This happens when developers become too large and loose sight of their mission which in my mind, should be to serve the users. 😊

Wine Lover. I have been using Vivino for over two (2) years now and have found the application great for all people with a variety of wine knowledge levels - from the individual who is just starting to the Master Sommelier, there's always some information this application can provide. Although most ratings are made by average knowledgeable wine individual, it provides much practical information about what wines are popular or not , their pricing, where to buy them, comparisons to other wines by many different types of criteria and what many well-known wine critics & connoisseur opine. Spectacular App and it's free!!

App works, but wine delivery doesn’t. Have been actively comparing wines for a few months promoted by Vivino, looking to try new wines. Had to focus on regions that I had enjoyed in the past, since we can’t taste them before purchase (not available from local stores.) I had one shipment delivered relatively promptly, paid more for ice packs since we had hot weather. Splurged on a large second order (addl discount offered), but their claim of temperature controlled shipment is exaggerated. They are holding my wine (2 weeks) because it is too hot, but did not communicate with me about the delay. Enjoy the app, you might not get the wine for a while if weather stays over 80, even paying extra for ice packs. Amended to 2 stars - three days after complaining with Vivino rep via chat, the wine was delivered (and ice packs did their job over 3 hot days.)

Best Wine App I’ve Found. This app represents the realization of the greatest utility for an iPhone: knowing what you’re doing at the wine store or, even more importantly, at the restaurant when confronted with an indecipherable wine list that charges prices unrelated to the quality of the wine selections. I love this app because a quick photo gives you all the details of an unbelievably large number of wines, with evaluations by real people, not experts divorced from the plain enjoyment of every day wines. Of course, if you’re doing high end dining (and drinking) reviews from the pros are just a click away. If all of this weren’t enough, Vivino also keeps an inventory of what you have in your cellar, allowing you to track how many bottles you’ve purchased when and how many you’ve “sampled” or shared. I’ve already recommended this app to all the wine drinkers I know and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who’s come across this review. You won’t regret it!

My Go To Wine App!!!. I have been a big wine fan for many, many years. I use the “VIVINO” app regularly! I use it to check prices at stores, wineries, etc. to make sure I am getting a good value. Also while checking pricing, you can read multiple reviews to zero in on a desired wine!!! I recommend it to all my friends and they use it all the time. One other tremendous plus is that there are regular “direct to you” offers, which I have taken advantage of numerous times!!! My favorites are Zins & Cabs! This is one of my most used apps! Definitely 5 stars!!!

Luscious and delectable...a thoroughbred pioneer. Vivino has become my reliable go-to grape shopping buddy! No better companion than one who can instantly give you a beat on the right bottle for that unique occasion, at the best value, and doesn’t argue with your eclectic palette! Very rarely is Vivino stumped on a selection, and the function of thousands of objective reviews, gives me the courage to embrace a 4.2 value wine, or indulge in that swarthy 4.6 vineyard, that is a virgin in my personal quiver. When I’m overwhelmed by the voluminous nature of the vino category, my druthers are flavorfully satiated with a Vivino approval of an old industry faithful, and equally emancipated by the pleasant surprise of a new-found treasure! Thank you Vivino for becoming such an invaluable friend. I strongly encourage the neophyte, as well as those self-anointed vineyard connoisseurs, to welcome Vivino into your guilty pleasures. Share your journey into this spirit world with my dear new friend, you won’t be disappointed... Deliciously a loyal and adoring fan, EMS

A Review of the Wine App Vivino. Vivino is a great wine app. They have a really extensive collection of available wines. I use it all the time to leave my impressions of wines that I am drinking. I find the vintners notes especially helpful. I also like to read reviews other consumers make of the wines I am drinking. I like the way it tracts the wines I drink and review, and have found their recommendations for other wines to try generally helpful. I really like how easy it is to order wines from them! I would recommend the Vivino app for anyone moderately interested in wine, especially the ones being consumed.

Vivino wine app. If you don’t have this app already, do yourself a fun favor and install it. I Especially have fun reviewing wines and reading other reviews that other people have written and it’s super fun during winetasting, as I only drink the more expensive ones you can find out instantly how much people are paying for it and what they are saying about each wine so have fun and install it, you can also follow people I have a very large following of two people!!! Lol. Anyway , it’s super fun plus I’m a wine snob in a modest way!! Drink on ! Cab lovers unite!!!!🌈🍷Thumbs up or thumbs down make your voice heard!!
