ICatcher! Podcast Player Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Very frustrating. This app does one thing very well: it does not collect your user data. Other than that, I’ve been using this for months now and it is very frustrating to use. It has a million features, but half of them don’t work consistently, and the other half are often quite confusing to figure out. For one thing, often it will decide that it can’t play an episode that you were in the middle of that you were previously playing. It will give you some error and ask you to re-download or force quit or just dismiss the error. Sometimes I’ve gotten it to play the episode later by deleting it and manually re-adding it to a podcast list. Other times that just doesn’t work and I just can’t listen to that episode ever again no matter what I try. It doesn’t have a basic recently played list. It has supposedly that will auto fill, but this also doesn’t actually capture all of the episodes you may have recently played. It will randomly tell you that a podcast you were subscribe to isn’t available. This just scratches the surface. I really wanted to like it, because I believe it’s the only one that I found that doesn’t collect my user data. But it has a lot of problems, and the fact that I’ve just spent the last 15 minutes trying to get it somehow to play the episode I was in the middle of the other day, makes me want to delete it entirely. I think it’s time for me to search again for another player.

Very nice, with limits. This seems to be the best behaved podcast app I've tried. Adding a huge set of new podcasts via OPML worked right. Searching for podcasts on the phone worked right. It chews through refreshing a large set of feeds in a hurry. The configurable playlists offer features that I've never seen elsewhere, but have long hoped for. And adding a second synced device was as easy and transparent as you can hope for (still not very - but that's because iCloud is bad). This comes at the cost of an almost unwieldy amount of configuration possible. The interface is either a bit clunky, or not quite discoverable enough, but it does do everything I hoped it would. I'd rate it best of the pod catchers I've tried - soundly ahead of Downcast.

Good customization options but misses key elements. This a good podcast app with many customization options, in fact too many, which can be confusing. It would be my go to app for podcasts if it had a Play Next queue that you could organize. Without it, you are limited to playing podcast episodes from playlists, or one episode at a time from the podcast subscription. I also find it confusing the way it adds all downloaded episodes when you create a new playlist, before you select the podcasts you want to include in the playlist, its not intuitive. If they improve these areas, this could be the best podcast app right now, it has some other nice features, like the well designed use of gestures to handle playback.

This is now my favorite app. I don't know Joeisanerd but this app of his is by far my most used app on my IOS devices. It quickly filled up my iPods memory space. When I up graded to the new iPhone 5, this app was the key one to help me decide on getting the 64GB version of the phone. iCatcher makes it so easy to find new podcasts and to create customize playlists. I've tried other pod catchers like Downcast, Stitcher, and other free ones but they all had some shortfalls like too much advertising, or functionality. iCatcher just plays my selections without those things getting in the way. Well worth the $2.99. Thanks for making this and keeping it up to date Joe. 5 stars.

Good, but buggy. This app does everything I need out of a podcast app and reliably transfers episodes to my watch better than any other app I've tried. Unfortunately, play/pause interactions on the watch are beyond frustrating. When pressing play either the time will advance without audio, audio will play but it'll be rewound to some other point, or nothing happens at all. Pausing with my headphones guaranteea that the app will rewind when I hit play and if I'm unlucky the audio will glitch and repeat a sound indefinitely. The only way to stop it is to open the app on my watch and press play. Headphone button is non functional when this happens. Suddenly today: episodes won't transfer to the watch. Going to settings >apple watch within the ios app acted as a dashboard to monitor my transfers and now that section is missing from settings as well. This app would be my gold standard for a podcast app if it worked smoothly. Great work, but it needs to be ironed out. The play/pause bug in particular is disruptive because I listen. To podcasts at work and I can't pause with my headphones as someone walks up to me or else I'll have to find my place again. Edit: transfers to Apple watch are working again and the apple watch section is available in settings. There wasn't an update but I'm glad it works again.

Super Control over Podcasts. This app allows very fine grained control over how to listen to your podcasts. For instance it has a sleep timer like many other apps, but you can set it to start automatically when playing a podcast after 10pm at night. This is just one example. Very detailed and flexible. The only hang up i have is that the UI is a bit slow to handle different of gestures, so I only allow one type. The creator has obviously spent a lot of time examining all the different ways people listen to podcasts. Nice work. And now added auto-delete download after XX hours. This app is definitely for control-geeks.

So powerful it should easily be the top podcatcher app.. I’m a podcast fanatic and have tried almost every podcast app out there. (Except for ones which require accounts) So far none of them have touched iCatcher’s functionality - esp if you’re a power user. Because it’s so deeply configurable. Just looking at playlists - you can create automated playlists based on combinations of almost any parameter you can think of (e.g. podcast, episode, priority, bookmark, keywords, played status, download status, subscribed status, date, last unplayed...). The playlist sort functionality is equally powerful. The whole app feels so thoughtfully and carefully designed. My only problem with it is, after using it so long I have such a large list of podcasts and playlists, that the app has slowed down a lot. However I’ve tried exporting the large OPML into other podcast apps and they all perform either as slowly or worse than ICatcher.

I heart iCatcher!. I've used this app every day for years. It's a wonderful alternative to the terrible podcasts app Apple released, and better than any other I've tried. I love the options for multiple playlists, streaming or downloading, different settings for different podcasts, and even the little icon. The updates are pretty frequent, and the ONE time the app was unusable it was fixed in a few days. Honestly, I just trusted the developer to fix it soon because he always takes care of bugs right away. I definitely recommend this app!

Still The Best Podcast App. << Update 2/24: went back to the Apple app several months ago; was seriously disappointed, again; returned. >> I’m a heavy consumer of podcasts: audio, video, short form, long form, daily, weekly, monthly, news, entertainment, specialty interest & educational. iCatcher! is easy to set up, easy to use and lets you do pretty much whatever you want in playlist management plus it uses iCloud to sync across several devices. I’ve tried all of the other top podcast apps and still none compare to the features and flexibility of iCatcher!

Best Podcast App. I love this podcast app. Way better than the apple built one. It has so many features and the developer has made it so stable over the years. He also updates as soon as there is a new os and new screen size. When I got my iPhone X, lots of high profile apps took forever to update for the screen but this app was updated before I even got the phone in. One thing I appreciate is that the app developer so far doesn’t limit what podcasts you can find and subscribe to. I find it kind of ridiculous that Apple can “delist” podcasts from their app. A podcast is just an RSS feed, a URL basically. The podcast app is a specialized web browser for finding and subscribing to RSS feeds. I wonder if Apple is planning to make changes to Safari so that it can’t go to certain websites. I don’t need Apple to tell me what content to listen to. Hopefully Joe agrees with this and keeps his app open and honest. Thank you sir for making such a great product.

Most useful features. iCatcher has all of the features I was hoping to find and more that I’d wished for and never found. Extremely easy to set up, I control what displays, what downloads, how often it checks for new eps. Extremely functional and flexible custom playlists, sleep timer, replay speed setting. It even has a setting to prevent downloading tons of old episodes when something weird happens to a feed! Doesn’t default to trying to get me to subscribe to new things, and doesn’t track my data. Totally worth the price. I wish I had given up on Apple Podcasts sooner!

Incredibly functional and easy to use. This is the app that Apple should buy to replace their podcast app. There are so many features and yet it just works. If you don't want to mess with the wide variety of settings you don’t have to. I never have problems downloading or playing any podcasts and it just works. I'm not one to buy apps, especially if Apple makes an 'official' app that covers my needs but, this was worth every penny. All the problems I had with the Apple podcast app just don't exist in this excellent and well supported app. The author emailed me personally when I had a simple question! Worth it. And then some.

Simply the Best - my go-to podcast app for years. This app is genuinely the best podcast app I’ve used. I’ve tried several others over the last decade, including the default app on iOS, and they simply don’t compare. The developer is constantly releasing updates and excellent features. I’m writing this podcast because I recently went digging for a feature and found several others that will make life even better for me using this app. Thoughtful, intuitive, user-friendly, podcast application so good that it makes me never want to switch.

For audiobooks too!. Not only is this the best podcast player, it’s also the best .m4b audiobooks player (I use Audiobook Builder on Mac to make .m4b files from my CD audiobooks, sometimes adding chapter art as well has cover art). 1) Import your .m4b files into iCatcher! with iCloud, iTunes file sharing, etc. 2) Add them to a new podcast named by author, series, or whatever. 3) make sure this podcast is not set to delete the files when you are done if you wish to keep them on you iOS device. You will be able to select chapters from the bookmarks menu while listening, and see chapter art in the list of chapters (the cover art will be what you see everywhere else). You can choose any audiobook cover as the art for the audiobook “podcast.” You will be able to bookmark, alter playback speed, and protect the files just like a podcast. If this seems like too many steps, remember the developer doesn’t even promote iCatcher! as an audiobook player. Even so, I have not found a dedicated audiobook player that beats iCatcher!

I wish I could give it six stars. After sampling and buying essentially every podcast app that there,... I was ready to give up. They all made my head hurt. I work in a highly technical field and have no problem with advanced options, but the organization of the other podcast apps made me wonder if anyone could use these efficiently. Just when I was ready to give up I heard about iCatcher. What a difference! Finally I can navigate the app and do exactly what I want to do, organize and listen, without a painfully disheveled interface. Thank you to the developer for producing such an elegant app.

Annoying New Issue. ***Newest update unfortunately has not fixed the issue. Still exactly the same as it was...appreciate it being addressed, even if it’s still a problem at current. Attempting to drag and drop within a playlist to change the order of episodes appears to now be broken... it exits the app and sends you back to the iPhone menu... or it simply puts the item you just dragged and dropped back where it was and won’t change anything. This is hugely frustrating and has just begun happening over the past month. One addition I would love to see added is for an option for episodes to begin at the first bookmark rather than the start...I bookmark the beginning of main content to try and avoid the ads or the fluff I’m not interested in, and it would be great to have the app immediately go to my bookmark when each new episode begins. I’ve used iCatcher for several years and it will always be my go to... each problem (or which there have been very few) gets resolved quickly. I have no doubts that will happen again and I will bump back to five stars.

Finally. Like other podcast consumers, I found the native iOS podcast app unusable, so I tried some alternatives, mainly Podbean. Podbean would regularly fail to update my podcasts for weeks at a time. I wanted to try Overcast, but Overcast complained that I didn't have the latest iOS version. So I took a chance on a paid app -- iCatcher! It works perfectly and I am so glad to have spent the money on it. My podcasts update and if I want, I can force a refresh to see if any new episodes exist, but iCatcher! usually has already updated my list so that isn't necessary. Good job, developer!

Great!. This app is just what I needed. I have been listening to podcasts for years and it has always been a pain managing them in iTunes and syncing them over or downloading them one by one through iTunes on the phone. This app has all the features I was looking for. Update — I have been using this app for years now and it just keeps getting better. Update2 — this developer has been great he is really on top of things. Constantly keeping the app up to date. No app is bug free but it seems like when I do find a bug this developer has it fixed before I even have a chance to report it. You can’t ask for much more than that.

This is a good podcast app with minor flaws. Two things drew me to this app: it’s a one-time purchase, and it doesn’t collect data about me. Everyone else wants a subscription. ICatcher is a full-featured podcast that does everything I want, like automatically check for new episodes and add them to my playlist, has a search feature to find and subscribe to new podcasts, has an in-app browser, everything you’d expect. There are some minor irritations. Every once in a while, it redownloads old episodes I’ve already listened to, marks them unplayed, and adds them to my playlist. Also, I have a few podcasts that I’m catching up on and don’t want the newest episodes automatically added to my commuting playlist, and while it odd easy to exclude those podcast episodes from being automatically added to the playlist, I also can’t manually add episodes from the excluded podcasts. I’m pretty sure that’s a bug. I emailed the developer through the feedback option in the app, but I haven’t gotten a response. As I said, I like the one-time purchase, but I also like the tip jar, and I plan to use it. I’m glad Apple copied that from Windows Phone’s App Store. It’s a great way to support developers without being forced into a subscription.

Best app for serious podcast listener. I came to the app store searching for a replacement for my old podcatcher. They decided to “upgrade” and get rid of many of the tools that allowed listeners to control the settings for individual podcasts...but I loved those tools and enjoyed having that level of control / customization. This catcher caught my eye because it said I could make playlists and many pod catchers don’t allow you to easily do that, so I figured I would give it a try. Turns out this catcher was exactly what I was looking for! It’s true, you can adjust just about everything in this catcher, including somethings you didn’t know were adjustable. It’s fine for a novice or someone who doesn’t listen to a lot of podcasts, it’s easy enough to use and you can leave all the settings at their default so you can simply add podcasts and press play...BUT, if you listen to a lot of podcasts, want to make playlist with episodes from all different shows or are a control freak (jk, but not really) THIS IS FOR YOU!! If you’re here because your old podcatcher no longer does “XYZ” - get this! This catcher does the whole alphabet!

Works good. I’ve had this app through a few versions over a couple years and it has been good. It’s not the most intuitive to learn how to use but a little effort reveals its ability to customize your fav’s and subscriptions to your every whim. Once set up, it operates easy and brainless and that part is cool. Suggestion to developers, instructions and explanations for features and choices should be clearer and go into more depth. Example; what is the difference between “episodes to keep” and “downloads to keep?” And what benefit is there to have different number for each one on the same podcast?

Works well!. Used this an an alternative to the apple podcast app for years. It works really well and has much more functionality. I also love how they keep it updated. I heartily recommend the app! P.S. I would prefer if the newest update to the toolbar didn’t change one aspect. When clicking on the image of the episode on the bottom left it brings you to a screen where you can barely do anything to that episode, only fast forward and pause. I really wish it brought you to the normal playback screen which is easier to use and has more options. This is what it originally did.

The only podcast app I've ever needed. I've been using iCatcher for more than 6 years now and love it! It can be as simple or complex as you would like it to be. It's easy to add feeds and just play episodes, but you can do many other things if you'd like. Being able to schedule a time to refresh podcasts, whether to download over Wifi only, or even only when connected to a specific network, the ability to set up playlists of specific feeds, and many other features make this my go-to app for podcasts. Highly recommend!

Amazing podcast app. I've been using this app for many years, and it is by far the best podcast app out there. It has tons of features and configuration options. Support of the app is also great and not only for reporting issues, but also feature requests. I recommend this app to anyone who wants a great app for podcasts. UPDATE:this app just keeps getting better and better with each frequent update! 5 stars!! UPDATE UPDATE: Loving the new night time mode. Great app. I recommend it for your podcasts. UPDATE: it’s a bunch of years later, and this is still the BEST podcast app out there. Always getting updates and added features (some feel like Easter eggs. Lol). Amazing app and a must have. UPDATE: just had to use the feature where there is a playable audio file on a webpage, copy the link and then import it. Works like a charm. Very useful feature. Love this app and have had it since almost day one of it being on the App Store! UPDATE: Still loving the app. 2023 Update: still the best of casting app around. The developer really cares for their app and it shows. STILL loving this app all these years later. THE best podcast app out there.

I’ve tried them all, and this is leagues ahead. iCatcher is not only stable and highly functional, but it does things that perhaps no other podcast does, and certainly no other podcast app does as well. For one thing, it syncs reliably to the Apple Watch. It easily and without up-charge imports DRM-free audiobooks and .mp3/.m4a files from cloud storage or via AirDrop, and will sync these files to your Watch too. It supports audio and video podcasts. It even butters your toast every morning. Okay, I made that last one up. It’s the ideal podcast app. I’ve tried them all: —Downcast: my go-to for years, but with minimal Watch support; —Overcast: pretty, but importing files requires an annual in-app purchase and upload of the files to their server, and transfer to the Watch is not supported; —Castro: gorgeous, but opaque and difficult to use in ways the designer didn’t dictate; file import (“sideloading”) requires an annual in-app purchase and requires files be stored in iCloud. Nothing is as functional as iCatcher. Highly, highly recommended. Really, look no further. Oh, meant to mention: the CarPlay interface for iCatcher is smooth, intuitive, well-laid-out and stable.

Still My Favorite. Been around the block looking high and low for the best podcast player/manager. Tried literally over 15 different apps searching for the one that was the most stable, had the most relevant features but also was voiceover compatible (need this feature because of my blindness). iCatcher! is THAT app, you know the one, the one you miss instantly once you start using a competing app. The new app you’re trying out feels like you’re walking in mud. And then you come back to this app and the ease, multiple features and the familiarity make listening to podcasts enjoyable again. The only thing I could ask for would be a voice booster feature to be added but even without it this is by far and away the absolute best podcast player/manager out there today. Just try it, you’ll definitely like it.

This is the one!!!. I have been using this app for several years and it just continues to have the richest feature set. I especially love the gestures to quickly skip forward and backward through podcasts and the variable playback speed which can also be gesture controlled. It can also handle video podcasts which many others cannot. This is the only podcast app you need. Thank you Joe for keeping this app updated! For those of you who have been using this app for years like me, please consider leaving a “tip” periodically for the developer in Settings->tip jar to make sure the developer compensated for keeping the app going. I usually tip $10-15 per year since I use this app every single day. Thank You!!!

Outstanding player (but one regression in last update?). My go-to for years. Does everything you’d want a pod catcher to do. However, in most recent update, I can’t use the next/prev buttons to go to next/prev chapter in the same episode that I used to be able to do and was vital for podcasts like Coverville that have internal chapters. The setting for allowing it to do that is still there and turned on but when I hit next, it goes to next episode instead of next chapter so I have to use the chapter toc to move between chapters. Is this a fixable regression?

Made well & kept simple!. I did a lot of research into my new podcast player and gave iCatcher a chance in 2018…. I’m still here! Why? Quite simply the developer still manages it (glitches are fixed quickly!), they do NOTHING with your data and it’s made for the podcast listener who wants it’s simple, sleek and functional! There’s a few features I love like the gestures, how you can customize just about everything (getting as in the weeds as you wish), ability to download and add to a playlist, switching back and forth between streaming/downloading and they support private podcasts! If you’re in the US and you vehicles made by Honda/Toyota- this is for you!! It’s solid, dependable and has stealthily and slick features that enhance the experience. Again you can get as into the details of how this app works as you wish. Give it a try- you won’t be sorry!

Was a great app. But… (update). I’ve been using this app for months and it makes my commute so much more relaxing and interesting. The app works really well - I love the fact that it moves from one podcast to the next, so I don’t have to pay much attention to it on the road. I also like that I can easily skip ahead 30 seconds or to the end of a podcast that I’m not enjoying. I’ve found it very easy to browse or search for new podcasts. Just a really great app! Nov 20, 2021 - Lately the ability to play a podcast at different speeds is not working properly. I often play them at 1.25 speed and now they just skip so badly that you can’t hear most of the words. And when I try to change the playback speed, it rewinds instead - sometimes going back to the start! This is a critical enough problem for me to shop for a different app.

Feature Full. I really like the functionality of iCatcher. From the smart playlists to refined selection filters to keeping track of unsubscribed podcasts to defining exactly how many new episodes I want to download to setting a start and end offset so I can skip the opening and closing credits (and ads), and much much more… So why only four stars? Well, there could be some improvements. For instance, the only playback speed under x1 available are ½ and ¾! Meanwhile, I can play faster at 1½, 2x, 2½, 3x, etc, which I never do. But if I want to go to 3/4, I have to cycle through all the higher speeds before getting to what I want. Meanwhile, I have to rewind to listen to what I missed. And then, there are bugs… The app does not play well with iOS. It crashes periodically, leading to a rebuild of the episode database. When I press the play button on my ear phones, even if that was the last app I used, I get sent back to Apple Music, instead of iCatcher. I have to manually open the app, which is not safe when I’m driving. The episode list of unsubscribed podcast does not get refreshed, so I can’t search through it unless I delete the podcast then subscribe to it. Then unsubscribe. And these are just a few of the minor annoyances. I hope they clean up the whole thing.

Best app for use with Apple Watch. This is hands down the best app I have found if you want to listen to podcasts and audiobooks on your Apple Watch offline. You can sideload extremely large audiobooks from iCloud to your phone and then directly to your watch. You can then listen on your watch when away from your phone and it will sync your location back when you are next paired up. Unlike many other apps I have tried to listen to audiobooks that have buggy or inconsistent behavior when playing on your watch (Audible), iCatcher just works. If you exercise and don’t want to bring your phone, this is the app you want to listen to anything you want on your watch. Highly recommend it.

Excellent Podcast Player. Provides great set of features to help you find the podcasts you want and play them when you want. I had a memory problem with the iOS Podcast player. No problem with iCatcher. You can manage your podcasts and deal with finding them, organizing them and handling downloads easily. I particularly like the control you have over how podcasts are listed, played, downloaded and refreshed. Everything I need to find and enjoy podcasts on my terms. Helps me really enjoy the experience.

Great podcast player!. iCatcher! has been my podcast app for many years and I continue to think it’s the best thing around. The swipe gestures are the only way to fly … swipe up for faster playback, down for back to 1x. 1 finger swipe sideways does a 30 second skip, 2 finger side swipe 15 seconds all with customizable times. You can set what happens with numbers of episodes downloaded, or left over after listening… and everything just works. I’ve tried to use other apps - and I just keep coming back. If you need responsive controls - buy this app!

Outstanding!. This is a great app. It works flawlessly. It has an excellent library of available podcasts. It also has lots of features that are like white glove treatment for the listener. For instance, you’re driving somewhere listening to a podcast and the GPS interrupts to give you directions, iCatcher backspaces the audio so that you don’t miss what the GPS talked over. Set a sleep timer and, instead of abruptly stopping when the timer is up, it slowly fades the sound out so that you aren’t jarred awake. It has the feel that the people who make also actually use it.

Podcast App That Focuses on What’s Important. I’ve been a long time user of this app, and it has always provided features and functionality focused on acquiring, organizing, and managing podcasts. It even provides excellent search functionality, but never tries to get in your face with discoverability. I’ve tried several other podcast apps, even tried to use the stock iOS Podcasts app a few times after “improvements” were made, but always come back to this one. It’s the best, hands-down.

Has all the features I want. I have had issues with the features offered by podcast apps since swapping to an iPhone. This app has everything I missed from Podcast Republic and Podcast Addict. Search options with multiple episode selection for creating a playlist ( or several ). Playlist creation tools including auto addition, download or stream setting and sorting (manual, oldest/ newest order)to name a few. Playlist also goes to next episode instead of jumping to the top spot when jumping around a list The features are slightly hidden and sometimes require an extra button press compared to the previously mentioned, but a small price for being so feature rich !

So easy!. Since I am fairly new to podcasts, I was searching for an easy app to use. I tried out a few but kept coming back to iCatcher. I mainly listen to musical podcasts for exercising. It’s so easy to set up playlists, search for new podcasts, download for offline listening, sync with iCloud, email myself backups, constantly updating-I could go on and on. But to me the most important is customer service. Joe has responded quickly to me everytime I needed help. How much do you find that anymore! Update:I recently had a problem with the latest update. I wrote Joe and he was immediately on it and he kept in touch until he found a solution. He really cares!

UI issues, and A/V drift out of sync. There is a long standing issue where the audio and video will slowly drift out of sync. At first everything looks fine but a few minutes later you start to notice lips don’t match the words and by 30 mins, the sync is so bad it’s unwatchable. The only way to fix it is to pause and play, use the skip or change the playback speed. I contracted the developer several years ago and he implemented a workaround but as of lately it’s been broken again. I tried following up with the developer and got no response. Also the UI has gotten very cluttered. The way was a year ago was a lot clearer. Once these things are fix the app will be 5 stars again!

My Favorite Podcast App. I have tried several different podcast apps, and this one is heads-and-shoulders above the others. I love how flexible and customizable it is. (If I had one wish, there would be a single button I could use during playback to save a particular message while it’s playing, so it wouldn’t be automatically deleted afterward. Otherwise, when driving, I have to stop playback until I can pull over, Bookmark the message, Lock it, and Add it to a Playlist that Saves Messages after Playback. (I want 99% of my messages to be deleted once I’ve heard them - just a handful would need the ability to be marked and saved for later.).

Still the most well-made and most powerful media app in the App Store. I have been using iCatcher for about 11 years. This app is frequently updated with new features, bug fixes, and so on. The author is very responsive, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is extremely configurable. Almost anything you could possibly want to do with a podcast, can be done with this app. Playlist, feed specific sorting, streaming, downloading, playback offsets, priorities, download frequencies, iCloud sync, and lots more I’m forgetting about. And if you’re blind, it is completely accessible to VoiceOver. More people need to find out about iCatcher.

Great playlist features. I went through a ton of podcast apps trying to find one with the playlist features I needed, until I found this one and decided to take a chance on it. Key playlist features (for me): Ability to make static playlists of episodes where the episodes remain on the playlist even after they are played. Ability to create a playlist that filters by keyword, for example to have all episodes of a podcast with a certain word in the title. This one is extremely useful, especially for the actual play podcasts I listen to that can have multiple campaigns running simultaneously in the same feed. The only improvement here I can think of is slightly more advanced filtering, currently you can have multiple keywords to create an OR filter, the option to create an AND filter or exclude episodes from the playlist by keyword would be nice, but what this has is already something that’s made creating the playlists so much easier. You can also select individual episodes to include or exclude for cases your filter doesn’t quite handle right. The only feature I’d like that’s missing is the ability to have the display order be newest first but the play order be oldest first, however the playlist feature have made this much less necessary for me.

Best podcast app. This app is very flexible. Love it. Apple messed up there podcasts with ios5. This one is so much better. I never plug in to sync anymore. I love the skip forward and back option. The Leo skip is great. The double tap to pause and play works great especially in the car. I usually go to sleep listening to a podcast the ability to stop it after a time is great. I could go on and on about all the great options. Just use it you will never go back to iTunes for podcasts. Thank you developers.

Patience Pays Off. After looking all over the App Store for a solid podcast app, you’ll need a little more patience after you download iCatcher. There is so much flexibility and so many options—it can feel downright overwhelming at first. But after you learn your way around the app, you truly can create your own perfect podcast workflow. I’m a manual-download-and-custom-playlists kinda guy. Many apps don’t let me easily organize my podcasts that way; iCatcher let’s you organize your podcasts around your habits and preferences. For $3, it’s an easy recommendation. Put in the time, be patient, and it’ll probably become the podcatcher you’ve been yearning for.

Where have you been all my life?. I finally get fed up with my previous podcast app of choice, which shares the name with a term your weatherman may use to describe a cloudy day. That dev decided to make the watch app standalone, which broke the formerly-reliable sync from iPhones. After a couple weeks of frustration—going on a walk thinking I had my watch loaded up with podcasts—only to find that none of them were there... So after poking around reddit, I saw some recommendations for this app. For only $2.99, it seemed like a no brainer risk (although a free trial with limited functions would have been better). I imported my OPML...and HOLY SETTINGS LIST BATMAN. At first it was overwhelming. So I sent up some playlists, sent some podcasts to my watch (which WORKED) and then went on with my day. But then after a few days, I took the time to dive into the settings....and 20 minutes later, I now have a podcast app that works exactly the way I want. There’s features and settings I didn’t even know I wanted (like badge notifications for active playlist), but now after just a few days, I can’t live without. Especially the playlist management and granular download controls This is getting long for an app review, so my TL;DR - if you want a true power user podcast app with granular controls over almost every aspect, AND a reliable Apple Watch sync, this is the app for you. For less than a cup of coffee. I hope the dev has a Mac app up his sleeve too...

Almost the best podcast app - needs Carplay!. Other than not supporting CarPlay yet, I love the way this app works. It's logical to use. While playing podcasts, you double tap and they pause double tap again and they resume. You can use two fingers to jump ahead 30 seconds, or one finger to jump ahead 15 seconds. Anyway it's a great app, and I recommend that everybody try it out. Hopefully it will have CarPlay support soon. Update: seems that since I made this review, they now support CarPlay. I am upgrading my review to a five star review. Thanks!!

The power-user’s podcatcher.. After going through pretty much all of the well- and lesser-known podcatchers, I found iCatcher to be the most customizable & useful one, by far. The per-podcast & -playlist options are unmatched; the Apple Watch controls are intuitive & work very well on my Apple Watch Ultra (and my previous Apple Watch 4). The one time I needed assistance, the developer was very courteous, helpful, & responded promptly. I don’t have any real criticisms of this app; it’s powerful & reliable, & support is top-notch. If you listen to multiple podcasts & need the ability to manage download, sorting, & playback with any degree of customization, this is the podcatcher for you.

Lots of features. Complicated UI. iCatcher is packed full of features. More features than I’ve found in any other podcast player, which is great. But as a result, the UI and settings are pretty complicated and sometimes difficult to figure out. Some things could easily be improved, such as allowing us to set podcast priorities using simple drag-and-drop, rather than painstakingly going to each podcast’s settings and tapping the up/down arrows a million times. And it requires like 5 steps to re-download and re-play an episode that I previously listened to. That should be a single-tap thing. Other parts of the app are just a bit outdated and reflect how old the app is. For example, iCatcher came out before iOS had emojis, so it has a small set of a few dozen icons that you can select for playlists. A more modern app would let you choose an emoji instead, which is both easier and has many more options to choose from.

Best of all podcast apps. I've checked out most of the podcast apps and this one is the best! It is VERY feature rich and customizable. I really love the way that I can have custom playlists and they can be manually sorted. This allows me to have only the episodes that I want on a list and put them in the order that I want to sort them. Another feature I make great user of us the note taking. It lets me capture my thoughts very easily. And being able to have custom gestures allows me to skip forward and back just how much I want very easily. There are a few other very good podcast apps out there, but ICatcher is the best of the best!

Excellent, Usable, Tweakable. I’ve been using iCatcher for a few years now and nothing else compares. If you listen to podcasts at home, while driving, while on construction sites, while wearing gloves, while at a desk, with full attention and peripherally, this is the tool that lets you use deep tweaks and on-the-fly nudges to make playing podcasts an addition to your day rather than a distraction. Leave all the default settings and it's as good as any other player. When the major irritations of podcast apps are too much and you have a few minutes, poke around the settings and tweak them away: Oh! I can have podcasts sorted, sure, but tell it to nudge this one a little higher so it floats to the top. Oh! Delete after listening, but wait an hour first so if I was distracted I can go back. Notifications, or not. Always skip the last thirty seconds of this one, the first ten of that one. In-app descriptions of the rich configuration choices are concise and helpful. Joy. I feel a need to list a complaint, just to make this review believable. Okay: I have had the app crash, maybe once a week. But, testament to its fundamental stability, I just open it again and there's no data lost, it's good too go: fails gracefully when it fails. Five stars, happy to keep using, you ought to use it too.

Awesome PodCast App. I have been using this app for years. Tried a variety of other apps and ALWAYS ditched them for iCatcher. It’s easy to use. Very customisable to the individual’s needs. Nice interface. Syncs great with other iDevices. It just works. I highly recommend. (Australia)

Brilliant. Worth 6 stars.

Good podcast app. This app just about has it all. You can subscribe to podcasts, get new podcasts on demand, choose between downloading or streaming podcasts. It does audio and video. You can search for podcasts or add them manually. This app shows you the episode notes and the total disk space used by your podcasts. Downloads continue in the background for as long as iOS allows. It has that variable speed feature where you can speed up playback. Of course it has playlists. It is frequently updated with new features. Recommended.

Brilliant. Apple's Podcast app has become fat, bloated and too much like hard work managing podcasts. I have been using this app now for three months and have never looked back. It is easy to manage your podcasts and to sync them with all your Apple devices. It has a clean simple interface that is intuitive, unlike Apple's busy and complex podcast management. Discovering new podcasts is easy, they're all there. You will never use Apple's app again.

Quite useful - many good features. I use this app daily. Has been quite robust.

It's simply the best. I've been using iCatcher for years and recently thought I'd investigate other podcast apps to see if I was missing out on something better. Nope, I wasn't missing out on anything. ICatcher doesn't serve you up podcasts by algorithms, it just plays what you select. Hallelujah. And it gives you more control of the playback than anything else I found. Like my brain, I probably only use about 5% of its potential. Thank you again for making and not stuffing around with this excellent app!

Great 'cast aggregator. This podcast / vid cast aggregator is great. Easy to create playlists (something I don't usually do, so am not familiar with the process), easy updates and easy to add podcasts and search for new ones. It also allows adding the podcast URL without needing to dive deep into settings to do so. Way superior to the standard Apple podcast app. You can jump forward and backward in 30s chunks, increase playback to 1.25x (for those you want to hear just a little quicker!)..... Too many really useful features to detail here. Check the app out - I have it on my iPhone, and my iPad, and have not had any problems with it on either device in the 6 months or so I've been using it. Enjoy!

Very Close to Perfect. I spend many hours a day listening to podcasts and the features of this app support me brilliantly. It does crash from time to time but I suspect that iOS might have something to do with it most of the time. I'm personally looking forward to a Mac App Store version for the complete mobile plus desktop podcast experience. Apple Podcaster just doesn't cut it for me.

Fantastic app, does everything perfectly. My only issue with this app is that I haven't had it installed for years. If you listen to podcasts, this is essential & does everything that you would expect perfectly (and more). Already updated for iOS 5 beta, nice quick update, sign of a Dev who is on the ball and committed to continued support of customers.

Nice ad-free alternative for podcasts. Forget Stitcher. And of course the Apple podcast player is hopeless. Icatcher! has too many features to list, but some of my favs are the ability set the starting/ending play point in a podcast to skip those annoying advertisers at the start or the end of a podcast. Also easy to switch between different countries which is annoyingly hard with the Apple podcast regime. Many other settings. Solid app that does a really good job. If you’re an avid podcast listener this is your app.

Outstanding. Had the iOS upgrade problem on the iPad and this app is the solution. I listen to pods everyday in the car (4S) too and everything works. Only one little hiccup, though, no play command on Siri anymore. I will be using iCatcher for a long time to come - it's great

Still the Best Podcast App. Love the functionality yet it’s also intuitive and easy to use. All Class

So much better than apple. I've been using this app for multiple versions, still my favourite for podcasts, brilliant, intuitive and easy. Works every time and does everything I need.

Powerful. I have been using iCatcher for last few years and have not been disappointed. The updates keeps coming and the app keeps improving. However, the visual appearance has a lot to desire and is in need of refresh. I am also not a huge fan of the app icon. It does not do justice to the functionality of the app. I hope Joe swings the magic wand and brings a bit of eye candy to this great app.

This is a very handy app. This is a very handy app if you like me and there’s certain content creators you can’t find in a mainstream platforms there’s also bills and whistles that you can use to help you find your favourite content creators

Nice app, but…. …why does not allow to stream the podcasts on the Apple Watch??

V happy. Thanks heaps

Great app but needs a couple of tweaks. This works well but the interface isn't that intuitive. If you need to read the help file to do the basics (find, select & download podcasts), something isn't right. It would also be great it the podcasts downloaded while the app was in the background. Still a great app though.

Great app if you like podcasts. I'm surprised there aren't more apps to manage podcasts. Ive tried a few and this is the best I could find. It seems to stream slower than through iTunes and it took me a little time to figure it out - wasn't as straight forward and simplified as I would have like it to be. I do like the 30 sec rewind button and the fact you have a list of podcasts which you can choose to download or stream.

Best Podcast App. I have used iCatcher for my podcasts over the last year and find it very user friendly in comparison to others in the App Store. I have had to contact Support regarding a Podcast speed issue and received a reply back within hours on how to use the control features to correct it. Most impressed thanks Joe!

Versatile and stable. Wonderful player. Will auto download in the background on wifi, and almost everything is adjustable yet easy to find and use.

Broken now. Only all I have that started almost perfect and got worse with each update. Now unusable. Latest break: importing OPML doesn’t work. Good luck adding your 70 podcasts individually on a new phone.

Will be perfect if... Would be perfect if a function like pause after x amount of minutes of inactivity. Other than that, it is the best podcast app out there in the App Store or Play store

Listen to Nona. Funny Entertaining Random Aussie / Ethnic Observations Gutter mouth Sexy / stripper with a lot to say about nothing

Highly functional great value. Giving this app 5 stars because it does exactly what it claims to do, and to support independent devs who engage in customer friendly practices. This is a highly functional podcast app, with a fast and responsive (if simple) UI. The best part about the app, and why I purchased it, is you are able to load your own mp3 audiobooks into the app, and then sync them to your Apple Watch for listening. Other apps either don’t support this functionality at all, or otherwise try to collect rents from it by hiding it behind a subscription payment. You do need to take full control of your files on your pc or Mac, ensuring that their file names and metadata are tagged correctly, in order for the app to display your files in your desired order. This has therefore required some work in mass tagging software, but once you get a workflow down, transferring to the app is a breeze to do. The syncing process itself is, however, a little clunky. Having looked online, this is less the problem of the app and more to do with Apple itself. In order to sync, you need to make sure each book chapter is separated into its own mp3 file, and then manually add each one, ensuring that the icatcher app on both the phone and Watch are open. Thankfully, there is a percentage progress bar to tell you if it gets stuck. So, unfortunately, there is no set and forget transfers, like one would get on Audible. But for a single payment, the app is great value, and worth the 5 star rating.

Just what I was looking for.. A way to build and manage playlists through individual episodes. Excellent.

Large Print. Please can you make it so people like me who need glasses can adjust the font size so we can see the text. Often I listen to podcasts whilst relaxing and do not have my glasses on but cannot read anything on the screen because the font is far to small. There are a lot of us in this boat. Thanks

Fantastic app. Ok it's not pretty. But it works brilliantly. The gesture controls in particular make navigating your podcasts on the go a breeze. Only thing I wish for are bigger controls as trying to hit the tiny buttons while driving is very difficult and it's all too easy to accidentally hit fast forward instead and lose your place.

It's A Beauty. Gr8 app been using it for years and appreciate the regular bug fixes etc Sometimes using other podcast apps for a change but always come back to this one

Outstanding. Never had a problem. Always adding new features and updates.

Lean and functional, not flashy. Brilliant app that does exactly what it should and nothing more. It doesn’t have the kind of flashy user interface like Apple Podcasts and others but it makes it easy to find and subscribe to podcasts. I subscribe to 100 podcasts and I download odd things that interest me. This app makes that easy.

Most powerful Podcast app - yet also simple. iCatcher has been my Podcast app of choice for a year or so - I’ve tried the rest several times. Underneath it has brilliant features so you can tweak and customise your podcasts, but the playback menu is very simple to use If you listen to podcasts in your car - you need iCatcher. Tap, swipe, gestures - no hunting for tiny buttons.

It just works!. This is how podcasting should've been from the start. Get what you want, when you want, or your favourites as the come out. Playback functions are great and auto-delete the ones you've listened too. I never need to plug my iPhone into iTunes any more (a process I loathed). 10 Stars!

Best podcast player. Used this for years - rich functions, even iWatch app, and the right price. Highly recommended

Swiss Army knife for podcasting. A terrific app, with numerous layers of functionality. Downloads are very fast, and work as stated! Every time I sit down to take another look I keep finding new and practical functions - yet it's not hard to setup. App has saved me about 10 minutes a day determining which podcasts to download or not... something the official Podcasts app did rather clumsily (multiples of taps just to do simple downloading) - iCatcher makes it far simpler. Favorite functions: - car mode (swipe modes to pause, skip, etc) - ability to make preferences to include/exclude certain criteria from a podcast (such as those where it has separate stories / segments). This means you tend to end up with the ones you actually want to hear, rather than 'all or nothing' - multi-select a list of podcasts and do a common action such as download or edit them Scratching my head for anything it needs... Apple CarPlay app the only omission that comes to mind. Worth the money & five stars - highly recommended.

Best audio app aver. If you want podcasts, audiobooks to your iPhone and watch, only app to get! Fantastic app!

Brilliant, reliable & intuitive. My every day go to app! Works every time, offers many choices for customisation and is updated often. It's very reliable and just keeps getting better. Support is second to none! I've had this app for a very long time and only ever had only one issue and that seemed to be a result of insufficient space on my phone (ie: my fault). I've always been able to add any feed that I want to, unlike others that limit your choices. You can even just download an episode from a podcast without subscribing and customise playlists in tons of ways. There's just too many options to mention. If you want complete control over your podcasts, the ability to save on your PC later and pretty much any other option you could think of .... then this is the app for you!

My go to podcast app. I've been using this for years and I prefer this app as it is so simple to use. I swipe around the interface easily which is important if you listen to podcasts while you are trying to do other things. It has most of the important features at the surface so you don't have to drill down to do simple tasks. Full marks. I use it every day.

Awesome!. How have I not been using this sooner! Infinitely customisable and I have everything setup just how I want!

Great on iPhone but issue on watch. Great user experience on iPhone but have trouble getting the podcasts to upload smoothly to the watch. Seems only uploading when the podcast is playing on iPhone, once stopped, uploading to watch will stop as well

Very well supported, easy to use and my go to podcast app for years. Cheers

The best podcast app by a long way. If you are serious about listening to podcasts, this is the only app to use. It’s not super pretty but it’s very well supported and is SUPER functional. Now and again I have bought other apps to try because I have been sucked in by the hype. None have compared to this. Edit 2024. Went to write a review and realized wrote one long ago. My opinion has not changed. This is be far the best podcast app available.

THE podcasting app. Just replaced the Apple app with iCatcher. The huge range of options enabled me to completely configure listening controls to my car's steering wheel buttons. Big + for safety on my drives, and able to skip the tedious ads on TWiT podcasts :) Highly recommended.

Love the flexibility. I have been using iCatcher for 10 years and I listen to 20-30 hours of podcasts a week. I love the ease of everyday use but also the next level functions to create playlists, search, sort and filter when I need to. This app has been a good friend to me over the years.

Great. Good UI. Configurable. Easy to use and manage.

Saves time, it's fantastic!. This app saves me 5min each day, no more manual downloads thru iTunes ! It can prioritize downloads, and auto-delete after playing. I can enjoy more podcasts now, episodes are auto allocated to playlists. Everything is easy to customize ! By far the best app I've purchased !

Podcatcher for power user. My last podcatcher app I rated 5 stars, this one is better. It has multiple play lists each with sophisticated podcast/episode selection which is fantastic for different listening moods. Plus many ways of accessing material including password protected feeds. If you are new to podcasts, I'd suggest start with a simple app before graduating to this one.

Incredible podcatcher. Been using it for years and by far the best video & audio podcast player. Quite simply you should buy this app and you will never be disappointed. Every possible feature you could possibly want including full Apple Watch sync integration. iCatcher will do everything you can possibly think of relating to the consumption of podcasts.

Please add two jump buttons. Like the app. I've come over from Downcast as it was downloading too slow. I hope you could add a feature that Downcast has from the playback screen, that it offers two different jump options. For some commercial breaks this is so handy. Only got the app today. On special thank you.

Terrific App. Great all round app. It would be pretty much perfect if it had the ability to volume boost

ICatcher. Fantastic! You will not be disappointed! I've tried them all. This is the best.

Amazing!. I'm a podcast maniac. I just migrated from RSS Radio because it couldn't handle my 300+ subscriptions. iCatcher does it without blinking and offers a better UI and more options. I love it!

Fav podcast player. Not perfect, small sync issues, but it’s my go to pod player.

Just works. Works like a charm

A long time since the last update! I’m starting to get worried.. Once you get the app set up the way you want it, it is a great app. It takes a little while to get it to that point because there are so many features. It is frequently updated which is a good indication that the developers are paying attention.

Works, but no real iPad interface. The interface for iPad is really just a stretched iPhone interface.

Great podcast app. I’ve been using this app for 7 years, and I’m completely satisfied with its interface and performance. It does exactly what I need it to do.

Very good App. Needs a face lift.. I enjoy the features. A bit hard to figure things out some times. The only podcast player I use.

Save me from apple!. Thanks for saving me from the stock podcasts app!

5 stars for CarPlay!. Great app in every way possible... except it has no CarPlay!

Coolest podcatcher. This app work realy good with VoiceOver. The settings are more finely customizable.

Top notch. The most customizable podcast app out there. I also love how you can import audio files from your computer directly.

CONSTANT Crashing. I’ve had this app for years, and it is so much better than anything else out there, but it CONSTANTLY crashes. The last 3-6 months have been so frustrating. Start a show, close the screen, pocket and start dishes - multiple crashes over the next 5 minutes. I’m so close to switching, but argh, overall the app is so much better UI, functions, etc. than alternatives. The crashing is killing me though…

User friendly and easy to use. One of the best apps available. Managing playlists and customizing the layout of podcast is a breeze. Plus the developer regularly adds new features (some i did not realize I needed until I started to use them).

By far the best podcast app available.. The amount of settings available on the app is amazing. I have loyally used this app for a few years now, 8 hours a day :) My favourite features are all the show specific settings available, and the app looks and feels better than all the others I’ve tried. The ability to set the start and end times of a podcast, to skip intros and outros. Set playback speeds for specific podcasts. Add keywords to exclude for a podcast feed so it won’t download episodes with that keyword, and ability to choose what days to download a certain podcast. Both are great for podcasts that release a lot or daily shows. Probably if you can think of it, this podcast player can do it.

Excellent App. Great app- works flawlessly and has every feature you could want.

Still the best. This is still the best iOS podcast player after all these years. It is well-maintained and has all the features you need in a podcast application. And there’s no subscription fee! Update: The features just keep coming! Chuck this dev a few clams if you can. Tip Jar is in the app settings.

Buggy and lacks finish. It's a shame that podcast subscriptions are not built into iOS iTunes so apps like this are necessary. Unfortunately this one is a buggy and lacks finish. Of the 10 or so podcast I've tried to download only 5 were successful. The rest failed with a generic error message. While searching within the application, creating playlist etc. the application will try to use the audio API and interrupt anything else that is playing. I don't recommend this App.

Podcasting @ it easiest. Hey Everyone: Been using this app for year before apple podcast got its act together and offered something decent. This app is great give it a whirl and you won’t be disaapointed.

carplay and chromecast. I love your app but would it be possible to add carplay and chromecast support?

Best podcast app!. Most complete and fully featured podcast app.

Very good app. Great app, I am blind and use VoiceOver and this app is very accessible. Only problem is that sometimes when doing a few quick 30 second jumps it suddenly seems to quit and you have rto staret over.

Best podcast for those that want total control. You can do so many more things , that other pod app can’t do… very good personnel support

What’s not to love?. Great feature set. Frequent updates. Excellent support. Doesn’t collect any personal or device data. Set your own price. Get the app!

Works great!. I am really enjoying iCatcher! I can configure each podcast easily. Also, works great for adding podcasts by URL.Glad I downloaded another player.

My favourite podcast app. Period.. I downloaded iCatcher years ago. Been using it daily since then. I briefly tried other podcast apps but they never felt right. Ease of use, beautiful, powerful. This is it for me. My favourite app. :) Amazing work!

Really want to like this app. Love the customization the app allows for. Gestures are also really great. My biggest complaint is the UI, which has been the same for years. It’s not intuitive and very cumbersome. There really needs to be a way to load a next podcast to played next. Only way here seems to be by creating a playlist, which is not helpful if yo aren’t listening to one already.

Much more better than apple podcast.. Much more better than apple podcast. Simple to use.download protection and add to playlist really easy. All playbacks options

Excellent app. A lot of thought went into the design and functionality. Sure beats the Apple equivalent.

Awesome App!!. This is the podcast app I've been waiting for! No more tethering to iTunes plus double speed for audio AND video - excellent. One suggestion - a 'delete all played' button to clean up all podcasts at once.

Best podcast player, especially for Watch. Just about everything is configurable anyway you want it. Getting podcasts on to watch for playback without iPhone present is by far the best of any player I’ve tested, and I’ve tested them all.

Great App. I use this everyday, a great app

Still my #1 app.. If you like podcasts you will love this app. Your radio your way! Feature rich. Well designed. The way it should be!

Just Wow! Briiliant.. By far the best Podcast Player out there. (Last update) “Add new episode to several playlists” just awesome. Dev cares and super responsive. Only way to go if you like podcasts.

Best podcast player - only misses skip pauses option. It would be perfect with skip pauses.

A pleasure to use and enjoy.. Had this app for years. Solid consistent performance, a pleasure to use and enjoy. Consider the tip jar. Thanks

Very good app. My preferred way to listen to podcasts

My podcasts are organized!. This app has allowed to pull in my favourite podcasts and set up playlists. It’s works so much better than the app that came with my device.

Broken. Impossible to load new podcasts… It worked well in the past but now the app is completely useless. I can’t recommend this to anyone.

Simply Amazing. This app fits my needs perfectly and is way better then what Apple makes. Great for streaming podcasts and the options allow for a lot of customization!

Excellent!. Can't believe I was stuck using another app for so long. That one crashed all the time, this one just works properly. Very feature rich. Thanks.

Mon app de choix. Permet un streaming efficace ce qui évite d’encombrer mon iPhone

Still the best. Still the beat app of its kind. Total recommend.

Crashes!!. It crashes nearly every time I try to use

My Early Gift from iCatcher!. It was a pleasure to use earlier versions of iCatcher! but I am VERY pleased with the latest version which works with CarPlay. I had added CarPlay when it became available for my older model vehicle. CarPlay compatibility was the only feature missing from iCatcher! but it had become a big enough factor that I had first gone back to Apple's Podcast app to do duplicate downloads of podcasts or episodes that I wanted to listen to while driving. I added yet another CarPlay podcast app when I gave up on Apple's built-in app for the second time. Last Saturday when I connected my apple phone, I was shocked to see iCatcher! on the car display. Wonderful! iCatcher! has all the customization and features a user could ask for and now I’m back to using a single podcast app that works in all the situations in which I listen. I’m exploring features I didn’t use before such as creating a Playlist just for episodes that I can listen to while driving. Thank you so much.

Excellent podcast player. Generally does everything you want. Works well.

Excellent. Very well organised app I’ve used from day one of podcasting.

have used this for years. constantly improved with innovative settings and options

Outstanding. PppUpdates have made the app increasingly user friendly. Worth the $ spent 3 years ago and even more so nowt

Very Customizable. Best podcast app I have ever used. Lots of options all over the app. I have used it for years. I have tried other apps also over time to check stuff out and none compare.

Best. Podcast. App.. I’ve used this app for years and STILL absolutely love it. It's so easy to organize all the podcasts I listen to. I have a playlist with all my pods, plus another playlist for road trips with my husband that only has pods we both like. They update perfectly every time. Another feature I love is being able to trim time off the beginnings and ends of episodes, so you don't have to listen to theme songs or closing credits if you don't want to.

The Best of the Best. This app is absolutely wonderful. It gives me the control over my AudioBooks and Podcasts that literally no other app gives me. Especially when it comes to the Apple Watch. The ability to add books to my watch to listen to without my phone is worth the price alone. Add in how much control I have regarding Podcasts on my phone and watch and it’s a bargain at twice the price. I won’t say the controls are 100% intuitive, but they are not complicated. And once learned, the actions are easy to perform going forward. And the developer is always happy to help. I sent in a question through the app and got a response that was helpful. You aren’t going to get that most places. Do yourself a favor and spend the few bucks to really get output audio content under control.

Love this app!. Love this app! It lets you customize practically everything, just like you’re a grown-up! Make your podcasts start at 30 seconds to skip the commercials or repeated intro, fade out to sleep, import files, whatever you can think of, it already does. The method of ordering the podcasts is a little long-winded, but workable. Took me a while to figure out I can even customize the time a swipe gesture keeps a menu open, but see what I mean? Feature-rich!

3 Years & Counting. Since my switch to iPhone, I had trouble finding a podcast player that had all of the features that I like. I’m able to select multiple podcasts and set them to playlists; this is a major must have for me. Haven’t had issues with anything but the UI is a bit confusing even still sometimes. Thanks for the hard work!

Best podcast downloader available. I've tried several of the other pod catchers in the app store and this is the best. I subscribe to several podcasts, both free and paid subscriptions, and with this app I never have to use iTunes again. I've only had one small issue and when I emailed the developer with a question he got back to me in less than 30 minutes with a fix. If you want a pod catcher get this one. Don't waste your money on anything else!

Apple Watch Save. Apple Watch has serious issues with downloading Audible and Podcasts through various apps. This app was the best $3 I spent for my Apple Watch and running. It downloads easy (audible books don’t, but you can get mp3 versions that will), it syncs well between my watch and phone, and it saves me from paying a cellular bill for an LTE Watch for running.

Download it and enjoy!. This is the best overall podcast app for the power users. I've tried all of the ones that are promoted all up in your face in the app store. They all seem to have a catch that turned me off. Expensive subscriptions, weak search engines, poor user interfaces, etc. This is the last good app that allows you to get the most out of your listening experience. Try it out and see for yourself!

Does an excellent job of syncing.. I changed over to downcast for a while thinking it's iCloud support with syncing between multiple devices would be better but it's not. It's worse. So I'm back. The program is being actively developed. Bugs are quickly fixed. Developer is very responsive. A few minor bugs here and there but program is actively being developed. Developer very responsive. PIP wasn’t working for awhile with 12.3. A few days later working fine again. Thanks.

Tried them all. Avid podcast listener for many yrs. I have tried many podcaster players. I began looking at other players again and re- found iCatcher! I was surprised by how much of an improvement the developer has made on this app . For novice uses her pro uses this is the one to get. I like this part catch you so much that I tried to tip the developer however once you download the app you can’t add a tip. And no I’m not a ‘shill’ for the developer I just like things of just Work.

Excellent Application. I have all of the major (and most minor) podcast applications including those that are free and those that charge. iCatcher! has far more options and controls than others. I am still finding new ways to configure the app (e.g., playlist creation options, playback controls, automated options for episodes to delete/keep, and the like). The app remains easy to use even if you do not take advantage of all the controls and configurations. Highly recommend.

apple to shame. love this app i use it as well as apple's podcast app, I prefer the way this app shows info, updates & downloads...so worth it for better control...such a great buy. my only criticism is a setting for how to play list, i like to keep some of my podcast but i like the most recent on top. If i could have a choice of playing oldest to newest that would be awesome!

My go to player. Only tried four other podcast players because this one has all the features I look for and some I use but never thought of, and importantly it is easier to use and understand. Does everything I want and is well maintained, fixing and adding features before I usually even notice. Questions were taken seriously and addressed quickly.

Buggy and unresponsive. I loved this app. iCatcher was the best podcast app by far. Since the last update, ICatcher has new bugs. If you go into individual podcast settings, it’s set to download every episode of the podcast without limit. When you set limits on it and save it, the changes are never saved. It goes back to unlimited podcasts episodes on every podcast. That comes with associated errors related to “too many downloads.“ If you could actually change the settings in such a way that it would save, thatwould help. Likewise, unsubscribing to a podcast does nothing. It continues to be subscribed and as noted above, it continues unlimited downloads. Please fix this.

Bought Them ALL!. You can make a playlist that checks for new episodes hourly(or other choices 4,6,8 hour interval etc.) and jumps to the top of the playlist for the next podcast based on priority. You set the priority and if it downloads OR streams that podcast. **Search the Internet in the app for RSS podcasts or streams.** UGHHHHH There are way more features but these are my favorite. No better podcast app. Also I can transfer episodes to my Apple Watch so I can run without my phone.

iCatcher the most robust and best. Over +10 years i have tried and after a time (from weeks to months, to ~year), discarded a series of ever improved and innovated podcast management and play apps. Once iCatcher came to my attention, i tested and adopted it - ease of use; attention to human-phone-app usability; and stability are three key reasons why. I am always looking out for robust innovation - even disruption - but flaky, glitchy or poorly formulated usability is a deal-breaker. try it - you will be so proud of yourself :)

I always keep coming back to iCatcher. Believe me, I've tried many of them. As good as those others apps are, they’re always…missing something. This app has just about every feature you need and maybe a few that you don’t. Yes, there is some investment up-front to get things set up, but I spend less time managing my podcasts and more time listening. Still recommended after all these years.

Well worth the price!. I use this app every day and have for many years. It’s packed with useful features and the developer is always coming up with new ways to make it even more powerful. In fact, I can’t think of anything else I would add or change and I would recommend it to anyone looking for the best podcast app available. One caveat: It can be very resource-intensive on older devices with slow processors or low memory but on modern phones that hasn’t been a problem. Two thumbs up!

Serious podcast control. After trying several of the most popular podcast apps, I’ve found that none of them even touches the level of control and overall experience available here. This is one of very few apps I’ll bother to rate and review because it’s just that good. And it’s one of two that I *voluntarily* pay for (via the in-app tip jar). Like I said, it’s just that good, and I use it more than just about any other app.

Best podcast manager ever!. I’ve been using iCatcher for years. I don’t even remember what specifically drove me away from apple’s version. I can create playlists, add episodes without subscribing, delete an episode from the list within the podcast feed so I don’t have to keep seeing it, and then retrieve the entire feed when I’ve realized I did want to hear that episode. There are no ads, but please use the tip jar!

ICatcher! The great. If you are looking to subscribe and save podcasts this is for you . I have used it for years and is head and shoulders above anything that Apple offers. Apples is twitches with all sorts of different problems arise especially after a Apple update. I catcher is like the Toyota of podcast listening and recording It just keeps on working. It also has many different settings, to fine tune for your taste. None better try it soon. Dave R.

Best podcast app. Migrated over when Castro went belly up. A few things caught me: easy listen speed changes not buried in menus, an inbox-like way to manage new podcasts with priority ones on top, the quick annotated bookmark feature, and continuous play on manual or automatic playlists created from rules you specify. There are many custom options for optimizing the experience as well and I’m so relieved I have a found a great podcast app!

Moved from PocketCasts. This app has everything. Absolutely everything. If you’re serious about podcasts then download it. Fully customizable. Built for Podcast 2.0. Experimental features available to the Public. On and on. Just gave an additional tip after I finished setting up the app for use. Not just all the stuff buried in here to discover and use, the developer doesn’t track your data. This will be my permanent podcast catcher and player.

Incredible app for language learners. I bought this app because it allows users to listen to the same podcast episode on loop. Repetition is critical when acquiring a new language and this app allows users to set it and forget it, no more fiddling to restart every time the episode ends. 😍 Very happy!! One quirk I’ve noticed is that sometimes the progress bar on the Apple Watch stop even though the podcast is playing and the progress bar on the phone is moving. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I love it!

Best in class. I’ve been using this app for years and through many upgrades. Unlike many apps that loose functionality, this one has always made consistent progress in functionality and ease of use. I only wish I could add more stars, but then I’m not using iCatcher to write this review. I can’t recommend this app enough. It will serve you well year after year.

Best Podcast App for Apple Watch. Recently began looking for another podcast app as Watch Player is just too buggy and Overcast stopped supporting Apple Watch. iCatcher is fantastic! Great suite of options, easy to find and download podcasts, easy to transfer to Apple Watch, and just enough functionality on the Watch to enjoy podcasts while exercising with NO bugs yet. Love it! Am running Apple Workout app in the background with no issues. Well worth the price of admission. Nice features on the iPhone to sort and mark podcasts previously listened to. Great App!

Good app. I have been using this nice little app for several years and mostly it works flawlessly- however twice now and most recently last week it froze and no amount of coaxing would bring it back - I reported through the dumb screen that persisted but ultimately had to uninstall and reinstall- needed to download my 6-10 podcasts I use every day but I guess that is the way sometimes things work- overall a great app and I recommend it to my friends frequently

The most underrated podcast app out there!. I have tried many podcast apps and keep coming back to iCatcher! It handles everything I throw at it, from video podcasts to importing mp3 files I find online and want to easily play. The playlist feature is one of the best I’ve seen. It supports static playlists that you populate manually and dynamic playlists based off a numbers of search options. I never have to worry about what episode to find because my favorite shows always show up in one of a few playlists I have set up.

Great app: some feature suggestions. I use this all the time. Great job. Here are a couple of areas for improvement: The skip forward / back buttons get a lot of use. But there is no haptic or audio feedback. It seems odd but sometimes it’s hard to tell if the press worked. I’d appreciate a haptic buz or some small audio feedback. Selecting something to listen to next hasn’t ever worked for me. Why can’t I just see the podcasts on my phone and scroll through them to select something? Similarly I’d like to select specific podcasts that sync into the watch. Dunno why the focus is on “playlists”. Just give me control like w each subscription on the phone where I can control how many are downloaded etc. give me control over how many are synced to watches local storage. Minor gripes. Hopefully useful feedback. Cheers.

Help! Please, help!. OK, first of all..., I love this app, ...& I’ve loved it for as long as I’ve had it... idk, 4+ years. In all that time I don't think I've had a single problem with the app, ...until now. The iCatcher! App, on my iPhone, keeps crashing the moment it starts. I've rebooted my device, no change – I've deleted & reinstalled the app, several times now, still, Crashes. Things ‘started’ looking good a couple times - was able to sync all podcasts, stopped all downloads from occurring, figured I'd just download as needed - but, as soon as I downloaded a few episodes, it Crashed again. I keep deleting & re-installing every time it starts crashing, but, as I paid $ for the app & without it don't have access to my podcasts, it's getting quite frustrating. (Hope u guys are keeping eyes on these reviews!) Thanks! (iPhone11maxPlus; iOS 13.6; latest iCatcher update)

The best and most customizable podcast app. This is the only app you need if you listen to a lot of podcasts. Creating custom playlists, custom gestures, custom time controls. Pretty much has every feature you will ever need for listening to podcasts. There are a few bugs every now and then, but all of the other podcast apps are so awful compared to iCatcher that it still deserves 5 stars (plus it’s one guy that makes it - a few bugs are understandable)

Perfection. I went to the app store looking for something that did what Apple refuses to do with their music/podcast app - make it user friendly and useful - this product blew me away with exactly what I wanted and So much more...thank u for filling the gap! it has every feature u want and when u say yourself - “hey u know it’d be cool if my podcast app did this too” - chances are that feature is already there, waiting for u to discover it. very responsive developers too. they get it!!

Almost Perfect. I wish all the playback buttons weren’t needlessly squished together in the middle of the screen. I shouldn’t have to aim my finger so carefully to make sure I don’t hit the wrong button. Aside from that, this is an amazing app. It’s the only podcast app that has all the features I need, like the ability to import audio files, change the speed by 0.1x intervals, configure the jump back and jump forward buttons, and hit those buttons from the lock screen.

My most-used app, and easily one of the best I've purchased. Can't say much more than it has been just a fantastic app. I have a lot to learn about iCatcher because it is so powerful! But meanwhile it is allowing me to enjoy my podcasts everywhere and anytime I want. Also it has GREAT support. ALSO: each time I need or try to swing over to the Apple Podcast app, I come running back to iCatcher! because of its feature-richness.

Works Great. This app works reliably, has a great interface, and is thoughtfully designed, with very useful features. It is an excellent substitute for Apple's lousy podcast app. In fact, though I was initially very disappointed when Apple introduced that app and removed the capability to download podcasts within their music app, now I'm glad they did it, because iCatcher is so much better for podcasts than the Apple music app ever was.

Great app. The recent update which broke the atuomatic download on my iPod Touch latest gen. running latest iOS is now fixed! Developer fixed the issue quickly, thank you. Still can't contact the developer through the website and am not a Twitter user. Changing my review to 5 stars, it's good app. I drive about 4 hours a day and listen to dozens of podcasts on this app. Have tried several others and come back to this one.

Had to lower my rating. I originally gave this podcast 5 stars with a glowing review. Unfortunately, lately I have been unable to play the podcast audio through my Apple Watch ultra. Since I often travel without my iPhone, I often use this app to play podcasts through my Apple Watch. Until recently this has worked flawlessly. But like I’ve said, for the last several weeks I have been unable to do this and now on the Apple Watch the app is always asking me to select which audio source to play audio from.

The most versatile podcast app. iCatcher is the most versatile podcast app that I've used. It has so many ways to customize the interface that you have to devote some time to exploring the settings if you want to find them all. It supports the Apple Watch as both a remote control and as a stand-alone player of transferred podcasts. You can even automate which podcasts get transferred to the Watch. The app is well-supported with frequent updates and new features.

Pretty Darn Good. This is my preferred podcast app. I used the iTunes one and a couple others before, but this one is much better because you can control downloads, subscriptions, priority, etc., more easily than the others. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because it is difficult to find foreign language podcasts. Those podcasts are available on this app, but you need to have a sense for the title before you can find it. There should be an easier way to find these.

Everything you could ask for. This is a really fantastic app that has every feature you need for listening to podcasts. There are tons and tons of settings to customize how downloading and management of the streams work. The UI is very nice. The author even incorporated my suggestion to expand the podcast description to two lines from the original one line. Heavy podcast listeners will be very pleased with this app, and I am grateful such a great app exists and it is frequently updated with new features.

Best app I've ever bought!. Listen to podcasts all day (sometimes into the night). You won't find a better app, website, player, etc. to deliver you the podcasts you want, and they way you want to use em. Since installing about 15 years ago, I’ve had to use tech support a couple of times, and the service could not be better. Fast and very polite!

Everything a Podcast player should be... and a lot more!. iCatcher just keeps getting better and better and stays ahead of its competitors. It's one of just a handful of apps I use EVERY day, along with Phone, Email and finding my bus time. I really highly recommend iCatcher - I've tried all the other Podcast players and this one is way better! And now it has watch support to make my Bluetooth headset listening even more convenient.

Works great! Best podcast app out there!. I've checked out many different podcast apps, and sone of them ever caught my enough to make using them a habit. I've used iCatcher for quite a while after a friend recommended I try it and I can't imagine going back to the native podcast app or any other podcast app. The multiple high speed playback options are essential. Joe updates regularly and is always responsive to suggestions and questions. Can't recommend it enough.

Advanced Podcast Subscribing. I love this app. I can keep track of (currently 43) podcasts easily with custom playlists, advanced search engines to find new podcasts based on show notes keywords, so many other valuable tools I use to find and absorb loads of podcasts super efficiently. Perfect for serious research, heavy fandom, or any other kind of deep nerding out. Has a bunch of other advanced features. I haven't seen another podcast subscription app that is this useful.

Easy to use. I used the Apple podcast app from 2004 till 2018 when I started having issues and getting to dislike the user interface. When I switched over to iCatcher life got easier again, been with them and using it for hours every day and I love it. After you try it don’t forget the tip jar, it’s basically free, yet I have to pay every month for the daily newspaper.

Embedded. Production level is very high, voices, sound music. Storytelling is solid, I just struggle with the unanswered questions I have as I listen, such as, all the voices speak of coal as a dying industry because of available gas and green energy, but the mine in the pod. is for metal / steel production? This mine and it’s jobs are more in competition it appears, with higher costs and China than environmentalists, and that is the story of much of US industry, maybe more episodes will clear this up, great work.

My favorite podcast app. A mature app, and it keeps getting better. Well-designed, and you can tell that it's had real-world testing. Great usability and attention to detail. With so many features and options, you can configure the app exactly the way you want it. I especially like the Auto Start Sleep Timer, a feature I have not seen in other podcast apps. The developer is responsive and releases timely updates.

Great app and customer service. I recently downloaded this app to primarily use to listen to podcasts on my Apple Watch while running. I had trouble syncing podcasts from my iPhone to Apple Watch. I emailed the app developer and within a couple of days of exchanging messages he told me he had a “fix”. Explained to me what I had to do and it worked brilliantly. Can’t say enough about how great the experience was and superior customer service.

A true gem among slick shiny apps. I’ve been using this app for years, and I still marvel at what a feature-packed gem it is compared to popular competitors. If you want to have granular control, make smart playlists, or find obscure podcasts about any topic from all over the world, this is the best app out there! Endless thanks to the devs for search filters that serve us and not some monetization-driven sorting algorithm. You are the best!

Best podcast player!. I am constantly impressed by iCatcher! Not only does it have rock solid performance, it has many advanced features that come in really handy: Starting podcasts X seconds in to skip ads, setting the specific number of podcasts you want fetched per feed, varying playback speed, protecting podcasts you don’t want deleted... The list goes on and on. I haven’t found a player that comes anywhere near its versatility. And no in app purchases! My tip is on its way!

Still my favourite. I have used and loved iCatcher for many years. It’s simply the best. Feedback on the latest release: can we have the old sleep timer back, please? Or, at a minimum, add an option to pause one minute before the episode ends? I don’t want an episode marked as played if I fell asleep before it ended. I like to go back and hear how it ends. Life has enough mysteries without wondering which episode I played last and how it ended! :)
