Ripoff!. When the iPad updated, I lost all of my downloaded digital mags - I have been a print subscriber for over 10 years. I wrote asking for help so I could get them reloaded and told them I wanted to switch to digital only. Well, they switched me all right but now I am told that I can't download my old ones because that account no longer exists and I should have downloaded before I switched - duh, that's what I asked for help with. They didn't tell me up front that I would no longer have access to my old ones. And no, I don't have the print copies any more since I donated to the hospital as I received them since I would be able to get digitally! So if you want to switch - make sure you have all your back copies first!

Does not load/always in buffering, updated. This app is terrific, with colorful articles and great resources to help you beautify your life, as well as your home! UPDATE: The fix came quickly and the app uploaded faster than it previously did. Thanks for listening to the users. We greatly appreciate it!

AWESOME. I don't understand all the complaints and all the one star reviews. My wife receives the print version and I just entered all the information to read the digital version. IT WORKS! And the layout is great, colors are awesome, very well done! Some other magazines I have via Zinio are just a PDF of the pages, very substandard! This digital version even has the recipes, etc. Adding to the review. I don't understand what problem people are having logging in and starting the digital version. JUST FOLLOW THE QUESTIONS. Yes I did make some mistakes and had to do the logging in a couple of times because I was jumping ahead and not reading the entries properly. All my fault. Just went to view my "wife's magazine" again, and the layout and proper usage of the iPad format is really AWESOME. All magazines should this. Great job. Now my wife is saying tha it is time I get my own iPad. She also has become an avid internet Scrable player, so I "loose" the iPad on a regular basis.

Convenient once you can log in. I had trouble logging in like everyone else. I already have a subscription through the mail. After numerous failed attempts, I finally clicked on the "Account" button on the bottom of the screen. From there I clicked "Get Started" and entered my login info again, and it finally recognized me. I had to enter my account number to verify, but it worked! What I really like is that I have the option to download past issues. I look forward to having a few issues to flip through wherever I am!

Best magazine app out there. This was the first magazine (e-zine?) that I downloaded and that was dumb because every other magazine has been such a let down. Better Homes is by far the most interactive, well thought out app of it's kind that I have seen yet. This app really utilizes all the awsomeness that comes from having a tablet. The only two quirks I have found that drove me crazy was; 1: When I opened my September Issue for the first time it opened to a black page. I did not know this and thought the app froze or crashed and re-installed it 3 times before I figured out what was going on. Also you have to tap the very BOTTOM of the screen to get the tool bar to pop up, not just anywhere like other apps. 2: I'm still having problems signing in, and I subscribed through the app. I am guessing because this is a huge known issue that an update is coming soon. Overall I love it, and would love to see maybe a scrapbook tab similar to Pinterest where you can clip and save your favorite articles from different issues in one place. I also would LOVE a recipe box so I can save and flip through all the yummy recipes, or look for something specific. Also I saw the advertisement for BHG's Celebrate app and went ahead and got it. Best 99 cents I've spent since Angry birds:) I'm excited to see what else BHG will think of. I am hoping that some of the other developers are paying attention and will use this as a "standard" or "basic" model.

Expected more from BHG. Update: I was finally able to sign in and restore all purchases. I'm still rating this "upgrade" as a 1 because you have to download each copy individually which wouldn't be bad if it could be done in the background since it downloads at a snail's pace. BHG- don't do us any more favors with upgrades until you get your act together. ------- I loved having my copies of BHG on my iPad, but I too wish I had read the reviews before upgrading this app. I'm a print subscriber and all of my downloaded issues are now gone and I've tossed my hard copies. I can't even sign in because my password, which hasn't changed, isn't recognized. Adding insult to injury is being told to subscribe or buy when my current subscription doesn't expire until 2013. I thought BHG had resolved this issue after the initial launch. BHG should be ashamed of doing this to their subscribers twice.

Doesn't work!. I don't know what the problem is, but between development and customer service, they will annoy you on all levels. There is simply no mechanism to get a digital only subscription delivered to your iPad. After two cycles of basically being called out for my stupidity because my BH&G doesn't get delivered like all my other magazines, I've just accepted that I am out the $ for the annual subscription. I know that I don't have to sign in, but what the mental giants at customer service don't seem to realize is that magazines come through the newsstand feature now. So frustrating, but I won't buy the paper version until they resolve this and apologize to all of us who they have insulted.

Great Look and Feel - Terrible Price. Love BHG magazine, and now that it has come to the iPad, it looks great. Love being able to access the content wherever I am without having to carry around, and eventually toss or recycle, the paper version. Unfortunately, at $3.99 per issue, it is not feasible to purchase a digital version of this magazine. There is no way I am paying that much per issue when I can still get the paper version for $12 per year. Are they kidding on their prices? For real? This is just one example of a really potentially great and awesome transition from paper to digital, but they have got to address the price gouging. Just because we can afford an iPad doesn't mean we will support the ridiculous $3.99 per issue magazine!

Based on the other reviews, just spoke to a BHG Representative.... and they said that they are working on getting a yearly subscription setup, and that they are trying to make it free for those who have a subscription. They are hoping later this year that they will have that available. I explained that as our family receives a yearly gift of the printed version, I have no real control over which version we would receive, could they pass that on to the powers that be. So I was transferred many times, and ended up in a CIS manager's lap (poor guy). He told me that the re-work includes a lot of going back to ground zero to connect up all of the information on their end, and making it work with Apple's site (billing etc...). SO, I'm excited about what he was talking about doing, but not so excited about the wait, considering so many magazines are already able to do what we're complaining about. I also told him I would personally LOVE to go back and re-purchase certain issues digitally so I can recycle some of the mess in my home. :D Hope this is a bit informative. Thanks!

I FINALLY got it to work!!!!!!!!!!. I've had this app for over a month and have tried to log in as a print subscriber to get the magazines almost on a daily basis. And just like many others here, I tried EVERYTHING! Today, I opened up the app and it failed. I got an odd message that it had not loaded correctly. I got excited, uninstalled the app, shut everything down, and reinstalled the app. I logged in as a first time digital subscriber and it acknowledged me. I logged in using my email and password. There were issues in the library and the magazines in the store were available for download. So if you are a print subscriber and you decided to delete the app and never try again, download it one more time. They may have finally fixed it this time. Oh yeah! The magazine looks pretty cool too.

Cannot download editions. Receiving error messages when downloading any editions.

Superior. This magazine application is a nice addition for those who subscribe to the paper subscription because of the added features and direct links to other websites. I don't subscribe to the paper version but was glad to see available this application. I appreciate the book marker feature, so one can save pages for future reference. The price of the annual subscription is really cheap, plus you get 2 free issues (total of 14). I just download March magazine and so far I'm pleased with the beauty of the magazine, quality of the product and the features it has to offer. K. Skinner

Stopped working. I have not been able to download magazines on a subscription paid thru next November for several months. I was able to restore last year’s content, but nothing for the current year although it shows a current subscription.

Yeah. Finally! Thank you BHG. I had trouble getting it to load also but finally figured it out. I ignored the subscription questions and looked to the right at the sign in. It would not let me use the already a customer so I signed in as a new customer to digital subscription. You have the option of using your name and address if you dont have your account number. It didn't look like it did anything but then I noticed at the top it said sign out so I touched the library button at bottom and it finally showed several grayed out magazine covers and I touched one and it started to download it. It took a very long time to download ( that might have been my wifi but I dont think so) and if I got out of the app for about five or so minutes a screen would pop up saying it was canceling download. Just hit continue and it will take you back in the app and continue. You can get back out again. I hope this helps the people who couldn't get it to work. Good luck!

Awful, awful, awful. This is an example of how not to translate a magazine from hard copy to digital. I like BHG, but the iPad version is unusable. It's impossible to access the main menu once you're in the magazine. Tapping on the screen does nothing, even though it's supposed to bring up the menu. Force-quitting/restarting the app does nothing to help. The first and only issue I've been able to read contained resolution issues- some recipe pages were so pixelated they were unreadable. I decided to give the app another shot today after not trying to read it for a few months; now it won't even log me in. I get an authentication error, even after using the "forgot my password" link to recover my password (turns out it was the first one I had tried, after all). Wish I could get my money back.

Great magazine/ difficult APP. I have been unable to download June or July issues No response to support requests

Easy process but must follow directions. I was concerned about using this app after reading the other reviews. It took me only 5 minutes to download the app and start reading. Just make sure you sign in under the print subscribers if you already get the magazine. Also you will need to Create your account. I had already done that part but forgot my password which I had emailed to me. Really cool digital version. I would recommend trying it. Good luck.

Can't access digital editions!!!!. I have a subscription to the print version of BH&G and was excited to find out I could get the digital edition free on my iPad. I downloaded the BH&G app and then tried to register, but I was just left hanging with a "Please wait while your registration is being completed" message. I finally followed another reviewers suggestion and put in my email & clicked the "Forgot my Password" link. Another password was emailed to me and it worked, but I finally gained access to the app only to find out there are no BH&G editions to look at. The Newsstand app shows the November 2011 BH&G on the shelf, but when I click on it and go to the library….. nothing is there!!!! I have tried signing out and back in again, but still no digital editions to look at. One reviewer said it took 2 days to get the app working - to me that is an app that has way too many bugs to be worth my time.

Digital subscriber but I no longer have access to my subscription :(. I really loved this app when I first downloaded it. I live overseas and don't have a print subscription so I went for the digital subscription as soon as it became available. About 3 months into my subscription, my husband bought me an iPad 2 for my birthday so I decided to transfer all my magazine apps to the new iPad. Apparently, Better Homes and Garden doesn't restore previously bought issues or subscriptions because it wouldn't let me download any of the issues I own and should have access to. I now have a subscription which I have already paid for another 9 months but no access to them at all. If I want to read the current issue I would have to pay for them again, which I refuse to do. I tried contacting customer service to ask for help but I never heard back from them. Deleting and reinstalling doesn't do anything either. Sadly, I have to give this app 1-star because of this problem. All my other magazines have made smooth transitions to the new iPad and I still have access to my subscriptions and previous issues. How is it that this magazine can't do the same? Please fix this!!!

Downloads error. I’ve tried to send communication through the app, but it doesn’t go through. I’m not able to download any magazines for months. I have an iTunes subscription and signed in with email address. Tried deleting and reinstalling the app several times. My software is up to date on a newer iPad.

Impossible to download magazines. I struggle to download magazines every time i open the app. Spinning wheel and i never get anything. Love the magazine, just wish the app worked.

App will not restore purchases. I upgraded my phone and I went to restore purchase and it says restoring purchases but it doesn’t.. 3 issues have come out that I paid for!

Totally Enjoyed it - Version 2.0 with iOS5 on iPad2. I purchased the year subscription and got the November issue. Everything worked like it should except for one little glitch where text would not scroll down after listening to an audio clip, but flipping back to the previous page and flipping forward again fixed it. I really enjoyed that the digital version is very interactive through audio clips, step by step video of recipes, paint color ideas, links to products, etc. I have purchased other magazines that were just a digital version of the print copy....such a rip-off. This one is so much more.

Thieves!!!!. Beware!!! Do not waste your money buying this app!!! I purchased a one year subscription and every single month I have major issues trying to download the new edition. Four months into my subscription I've been blocked, can't read old or new issues, and have written customer service three times in two weeks with no response. (Well, you do get a canned response saying customer service will get back to you....but as I wrote, it's been two weeks with no resolution.) As for the quality of the magazine itself, I think they just scan the pages on a two-cent scanner. Unlike other magazine apps, there are no extras such as video, links, special features, etc. Horrible app, horrible customer service, so-so magazine.

Difficulty paying with PayPal. Had issue with PayPal but developers responded right away, good customer support.

Constantly buffing. My app has been buffing for over a month now ,has the app been discontinued,I miss my app and I have paid for it and would like to now what to do from here. I was wonder if there is any other alternative for this issue. Thank you

Another update = more problems. I have been receiving the digital version of BHG since it first started. I think it was the best use of a magazine in digital form to date of all the magazines I subscribe to digitally (and that's quite a few) but with every update it gets worse and worse. I have had to re-subscribe with different email addresses just to log back in and have had to re-download all my past issues a couple of times. Now after the latest update I can not access any of my issues, past or present. I have tried to restore purchases dozens of times and even uninstalled and reinstalled the app. What a way to take a great digital version of a magazine and massacre it. I've also heard that landscape view is gone. I hate reading anything on my iPad that is not in landscape mode. One more thing to hate about the new update!

Had some issues, but..... I had some issues with this app at first. I downloaded it a few weeks ago unsure if I wanted to subscribe. I came back to it a few weeks later ready to subscribe digitally only to run into all sorts of issues telling me I have to buy the app when I was IN the app, lol and that it couldn't connect to the App store and then just errors in general. I deleted the app from my ipad and reinstalled it and this fixed my issues and I was able to download my first issue. If you are having issues with his app, try deleting it and re-installing. I hope it works for you too!

Magazines do not download and no support. I have enjoyed my online subscription for the past three years. However, after my subscription renewed this May, I lost access to all previously downloaded magazines and was unable to open or download current magazines. Restore purchases says it works, but no restoration. When I called the magazine, they said subscriptions and subscription problems must be resolved by the Apple Store. However, I cannot find an avenue, site or contact for support services for this subscription. Conclusion: This app does not work. There is no support. Better to subscribe directly from publisher.

Can’t download !. Terrible app! Terrible customer service. Won’t download. Won’t restore iTunes purchases. I signed out as recommended and now the app doesn’t even recognize my id. I updated the app. I can access my old library but such a bummer I can’t access new content!

Disappointing at best. I have been a BHG subscriber for years and was really looking forward to reading the issues on my iPad. First the app told me I don't qualify for a digital subscription since I'm not a current subscriber. I am a current subscriber through the next 2 years. I deleted the app then. A few weeks later, I decided to try again. I was able to log in fine, but then I kept getting the error message that issues could not be retrieved. Now, I'm logged in, ready to go and it says I'm a digital subscriber on one side of the screen, but on the other side, it says in order to read other issues I need to purchase them! Sections of this app don't seem to communicate with one another and whether or not it evens loads is a crap shoot. Emails to BHG have gone unanswered..... This has potential to be a great app and I'm sad to have to delete it AGAIN.

Right Navigation Bar Is Annoying. Not a huge fan of the navigation bar that stays up on the side of each page (except ad pages, of course). I have an ipad mini so every little bit of the screen is valuable real estate. There's already a navigation scroll bar when you tap on a page, anyway, so it's redundant. If you must have the shortcuts to certain sections, why not add it down where the scroll bar is so it's all hidden? That would be much more desirable. It seems like a small thing, but bugs me so much. Other than that, I love the magazine. I'm a physical subscriber so I have access to the digital ones as well, which is absolutely lovely. I like the interactive mess of certain pages too. There's just enough without it being overdone.

The worst app ever!!!. If I could give this a ZERO rating I would have in an instance. Since the purchase of the magazine on my iPad I've spent more time trying to fix all the bug issues, unable to install issues, missing pages issues, freezing issues, and the list goes on. The customer service is the WORST. Nothing gets on your nerve like when the customer service does not offer any intelligent help but canned email answer as stupid as 'please connect to a strong wifi connection'. How is it possible that out of the 65 apps on my iPad that require periodic updates Better Homes and Gardens is the only one with a truckload of problems? And today, after two and a half weeks of sporadic emails, Better Homes and Gardens emailed that I should contact iTunes for support! I'm deleting this useless, crappy app, and never ever will buy another paper copy of the magazine.

Needs serious work. Stick to reading the actual magazine, the app leaves a lot to be desired. You can't save articles within the app or to another app (Evernote, OneNote, notepad, etc). Not all articles are favorite-able and if you do favorite an article you have to keep that issue, if you delete the issue you lose that fav. So if you're a forever reader kiss your space goodbye. Unable to save recipes. If you select share/print it errors out. Their answer is to go to the website to get the recipe. If I need to use the website then what's the purpose of the app. Every other reading app I have used allows me to highlight and my highlights are noted so I can get to them and use them how I wish, has allowed me to copy /paste, paste to Pinterest, etc. There's always an option to save just this piece and get rid of the rest. Not with this. Thankfully I still enjoy my print issues. Uninstalling.

No Free Trial. I submitted a one year subscription with a one month free trial. Could not download the current month’s issue. Instead the app asked me to buy the current month’s issue rather than viewing it for free during the trial period.

Amazing...once I figured it out. Ignore the post below, she actually does have trouble logging in...but it is not her fault. It took me some time to get it right and to this day, I'm not sure how to articulate how I got registered and made it work. It just suddenly worked. BHG needs to seriously work on that, even if they say they have. NOW that I can use this app, it is amazing. I have every issue since I subscribed to the print edition available on my ipad. And it really is the whole magazine...not an abridged piece of crap version. I love it.

Pretty good. I'm old fashioned and prefer the print version, but it’s nice to just carry the iPad on vacation. Also, the pictures are more saturated with color, and some of the instant connections with other sites are nice. I enjoy the different ways that I can see the content. I've had a few small problems with not being recognized that I'm up to date on my subscription, but I haven't needed to call customer service or tech support. I do wish landscape view was supported. I also wish this was included as part of my print subscription, as another magazine does. Overall, I'm satisfied with it.

cannot download new issue. Have followed all directions both through App Store and through BH&G app. Reinstalled, Restored Purchases etc but still cannot download latest issue (March 2022). Renewed 6 month subscription in January. What is a subscriber supposed to do? When it worked, it worked well. Enjoyed reading the mags through the app. Now? I can’t even GET the new issues I paid for!

Love it!. I haven't had any of the problems other reviewers have had. Set up my account no problem. I love the inter active features...videos, recipes and resources are so easy to navigate. To download additional issues you just open the magazine and use the menu to add more to your library. Once the magazine is downloaded to your library you don't have to have Internet access to read it anytime. I tried other Newstand magazines and they just don't look as nice and don't have interactive features. Best part is that I am a mail subscriber so the iPad issues are free!

HOW TO GET THE DIGITAL ISSUES. HERE IS HOW TO GET THE DIGITAL ISSUES 1) Delete the Better Homes and Gardens app This will temporarily delete the issues you may have already purchased but they will come back after you finish all the steps 2) Shut down your iPad Just holding down the top off button for a few seconds will suffice 3) Turn iPad back on and redownload the Better Homes and Gardens app 4) Open The app and go to the store 5) Double check that you are signed out first before the next steps 6) Click on the red button under current print subscribers 7) Don't type in your email here but but go above that to the underlined "tap here" 8) Fill in the first section of needed information (not the second) and click subscribe 9) After the screen comes up, click the red button 10) Now fill in your info and click the button to continue 11) Be patient!!! Don't immediately try to go to your library! (I made this mistake and had to start at step 1 again) 12) I'm not exactly sure what came up here but you should be able to figure it out by reading 13) Now go to your library and download any issue you want! Hope this helped! It may seem like a lot of steps but I can promise you it is worth it! Happy Home and Gardening!

Have Newsweek design your app. I had no troubles downloading the app and getting my first online issue. I have been a print subscriber for over 30 years. The issue I did download sits in my iPad newsstand. There is no app icon on my iPad screen and every time I try to reinstall the app, it says it is already installed. If I go to the issue in my newsstand, there is no possible way to get access to new issues. The tech support was useless. This is the worst app I have ever used! When I touch my Newsweek edition in my newsstand, it automatically gives me access to many issues, no problem! I even have the icon on my iPad that takes me to the Better Homes & Gardens web page. I am registered there with a password, but no way to download new issues.

I can’t see the magazine. I’m not able to download it says purchase notfound

Great app; print subscribers get free digital version. This app is easy to use and digital mags look great. Print subscribers get free access to digital versions of app. You just need to log into the section for print subscribers and follow instructions. Then you can download the digital versions of the magazine you subscribed to. I think this is great because I don't have to scan all the articles/recipes I want to keep, plus you get to lounge and read the hard copy if your'e used to that, plus you can give it away.

App is always crashing. App is always crashing and the special issues don't always open.

Lots of problems. Bummer! I looked forward to buying a subscription for my iPad. But after checking out one issue, there are too many problems for me to buy any more issues. Your developer needs to check out Martha Stewart magazines for iPad. First big thing, we are used to looking at a magazine in portrait format, not landscape. When it is portrait, more of the page is on screen, makes for less scrolling. And you need to do a lot of work in the videos. The one showing how to handle a turkey is laughable. Sorry, but Im being kind making that comment. Again, check out Martha Stewart Living for iPad, you will see how the App should work. Hope your developer will do some research and fix this App. I would love to buy more issues as soon as the App is fixed. Billie

LOVE!. I have been using the digital version of this magazine since it first became available and I have LOVED it from the beginning. It is one of the best digital magazines I have seen. My husband still uses the print version but I haven't picked one up other than to give to him since this came out. It is easier and quicker to read the whole magazine and so much easier to store and organize things to remember. No more folders haphazardly stuffed from the pages ripped out! the interactive aspects are pretty cool, as well. I have nothing negative to say except that, as a gardener, I would always like more on gardening, ha!

Updating my Old Review. I would like to update my review. BH&G has now allowed for print subcribers to download digital for free. Thank you so much for listening to us. I had no problems logging on and downloading the latest issue and am very impressed with the digital edition. Thanks BH&G As a current subscriber I was very, VERY, disappointed that the digital edition had to be purchased separately - and for a higher price than the printed edition. I contacted BH&G and they responded that they would each have to be purchased individually and that the printed subscription could not be transferred to the iPad edition. Shame on BH&G! Even People will let you view the digital edition if you already subscribe.

Update needed!. Wont open the magazine 🤨

Perfect app. This app is perfect! I love the magazine and having such a great platform for its digital version is a great pleasure. Very easy to use, very quickly to download and browse and at the end of the issue there is a manual button if you'd like to close it. Portrait and landscape view - both quickly switch without fragmenting. Thousand thanks for people who developed such a user-friendly tool for BHS's lovers!

Awesome App!. Much like the other reviews I kept trying to figure out why my magazine issues weren't displaying in my "Library". What I had initially did was downloaded the app and registered by only providing my name and email address. Not the way to go! I uninstalled and re-installed, setup a new account with my account number and then proceeded with my name, etc. Better instructions could have been provided for print subscribers looking to go digital. Truly a cool app though and love how I can view all of my previous issues as well!

Better Homes??. Like so many others totally disappointed to find I have downloaded American version. I want my money back and don't know where to start. Also it is completely user unfriendly!!!

False pretenses. A year later I didn't renew my subscription. Why? It's only the US version that is available to the Aust market. Again, why? I wrote two reviews and it still wasn't changed. Oh well. You lose. I would have resubscribed if it was the Aussie version.

Us version. Great layout and interactive website links, however very disappointing about no information informing its the American version

Us version!. No reference made in the title that this is the US version. Since I'm in the Australian iTunes store you would think or hope that some reference would be made to this fact? Not what I was after can I get my money back?

Cancel supscripsion. I want to cancel my subscripson as its not the Australian version and can't even contact you I do not want this and only just signed up if you could contact me and let me know how the Australian people can get rid of this supscripsion that would be great as I shouldn't be charged for any of the books

Not happy Jan.. As others have said this is the American version of the magazine. There are more pages of ads than there are articles. Unfortunately I have paid for a years subscription and probably won't even look at it. Maybe I should've looked closer but there was no mention that it wasn't Australian so maybe that should be made clear for others looking to download this.

Love the mag but .... I enjoy reading the magazine, but this month I am not able to download any new issues as I am expected to sign in, but the signing in process is only for the print customers and I have been a digital subscriber, I have no idea who to turn to for help. I have emailed BHG a few days ago but have not received an answer.

Appalled. I am disgusted that this is an American magazine rather than the channel 7 Aussie version which I thought I was purchasing seen as it is though my Aussie iTunes. Unable to cancel and get a refund and the adverts etc are not relevant as I cannot buy any of the goods here. This needs to be sorted and I certainly will not be rating it more than 1 star and only have done that because I can't submit it otherwise.

Country. Not happy only discovered that this isn't Australian until I downloaded subscription Also trying to access new issue but cannot access any yet not happy at all

No support. I subscribed to this magazine and after updating my iPad all the data were gone and there is no absolute support for recovering your password. When I type in mt iTunes account and password it does not allow me. Why do you need to open a whole new account when you can just integrate in your iTunes account. Fix

I agree with the others. I'm similarly caught. It said it was free but now they're saying they'll charge me until I cancel but there's no way to cancel. All it tells you is how to subscribe. Even help doesn't tell you unless you enter your subscription details. As I never wanted a subscription I'm not giving them any more details. By the way, I don't like the magazine either. So be very, very careful. I'll post again if I manage to cancel.

NOT AUST VERSION. Yep - it is probably my own fault, however I bought this thinking it was Aussie edition - it was listed with AUST gourmet traveller, AUST women's weekly and a few other AUST mags. I too am disappointed that it wasn't made clear anywhere on the listing which edition it was. Given the ambiguity of the listing i feel it would be good customer service if the powers that be were able to offer changeover subscription to the Aussie version (I suppose this is only possible of the magazines are published by the same company - Rupert? ...Rupert? Are you out there Rupert?)

Love it. I'm Australian deaf mother, I love this magazine. I wish you will avoid too many advertising in this magazine that we don't need it as we see it all the time at the shops :)

Disappointed. I subscribed to this magazine knowing it was the US version as I loved their website. My subscription worked for 2 months and now I can no longer access it. Tech support have been useless. Lesson learned....waste of money.

Disappointing. This isn't the Australian version I thought it would be - and thinking that I'd just assumed, I went back and looked for anything that would indicate it wasn't but I can't see anything that would tell someone looking to download (and pay for) this app, that it is a particular country's version. Given that the seasons for Australia & America are completely opposite, it's not relevant so my $16 hasn't been well spent.

Rip Off. Bought individual issues and each time I try to download or restore purchases, the app crashes. Can't even use the app support because it doesn't recognize Australian Postcodes which is required to submit inquiry. Total waste of time, money and effort..

Dissappointed. Bought this knowing US version. Payed one year subscription, read one, told new one available but since last update unable to access new, old, anything and app disappeared! Anyone know what is happening?

Very disappointed. I thought this subscription was for the Australian one but it is the American one that has come up, and I can't get into that. What is going on?

Disappointed. As this was advertised with other Australian magazines, it was disappointing to find this was not the Australian version. I have read the other reviews and they are all around this same issue, yet nothing has changed or be done to identify this magazine as the US version. My error that I did not realize this was the US version but disappointing that reviews are not being acted on.

App not free. I downloaded the misnamed FREE Better Homes and Gardens app, which popped up on my iPad. I looked at it, decided as it was a US version, it was not suitable for me. I deleted the app. Now I have been billed for a subscription. I don't want it!!! If I go to the app store it doesn't show that I have BHG installed. If I tried to install the FREE app I'm sure I would be taken down the same path to yet another subscription. There is no support path for Australia. What now BHG????

Not the Australian version. I wish I had read the reviews. Just bought the subscription for a year only to realize it is the American version of the magazine. Why won't they give the good old Aussie magazine? Feel cheated!!

Good. Interesting read every month with good use of interactivity. Not so many ads that they ruin the experience either

I wish I read the reviews!!!!. If only I read the reviews before subscribing for 12 months. I was another user that was sucked in by buying the USA version. Didn't find anything in the June 2012 edition which was interesting.

NOT HAPPY. Here is another unhappy purchaser!!! I too would like a refund!!! I can not find anywhere that it indidcate that this is not the Australian version. As good as the US version may be - it is usless to to us downunder!! Please lets get it marked showing which country it is from - not just what language.

Better homes con. I'm really disappointed to find that I have bought the American version. The seasons are wrong, the recipes have the American measurements and ingredients. The magazine title should make it clear that it is the American version. Will not be renewing. No stars!

Not the Aussie mag!. Check carefully what you're buying - this is NOT the Australian magazine. While the articles are still somewhat interesting, it's a bit pointless since the gardening advice & retail information is basically useless. Should have read the reviews first - buyer beware.

Can this get any worse ?. Oh perfect. Not only was I tricked into buying a US subscription, ever since the update I can no longer access the store OR my library of already downloaded issues. This is ridiculous and pathetic.

Where in the app does this say it's from the US???. Not happy after subscribing thinking its the Australian mag, ohhh blast! And now how do I cancel it?? This magazine has wonderful content but not relevant to our country. Completely useless!!!! To the app developers: Take note, and specify the country where it's from.. :(

Love it. Being away from the US, I had been wanting to get my hands on BGH US version for soooo long. Thank you for making this possible.

Exercise in Frustration. I was an early subscriber to e-Better Homes & Gardens and found it a fairly unsatisfactory and frustrating experience. Pages took too long to Load and navigating the site was confusing and slow as well. Is it the lousy Australian download speeds or just poor web design? Not keen to repeat the experience.

BHG. It honestly doesn't bother me that this is the US magazine. My only complaint is that it took forever to download, section by section. Other mags I have downloaded were done in one go and then you could look at everything. This downloads as you go through the magazine which I found a bit annoying.

Not happy, Jan!. As with many other reviews, I am not happy that this is not the Australian edition of Better Homes. I love the show and the magazine. Can you, or more pertinently, will you, fix this? We would like our money back!

Very unhappy. Can't download my subscription . Can't send an email as my postcode isn't accepted. Can't phone helpline as call doesn't go through. I want my subscription OR MY MONEY REFUNDED. This is very poor and I thought this was a reputable company. Don't buy subscriptions online people - you get burned!!!!!

Pinterest upload doesn’t work. Way too many adverts! Pinning to Pinterest doesn’t work, which is annoying. Some great recipes, except as an Australian there are no English vegetable or fruit names. Enjoyable, but won’t renew subscription.

BEWARE! American Version. Advertised with other leading Australian magazines to which I subscribe I just purchased a 12 month subscription and downloaded the first edition only to find it is the American version. I want my money back or the Australian version made available!

Ripped off. This is not the Australian version. Not happy that I have just wasted my money twice because I also subscribed to another mag for one year with the same result. How do I make sure that the auto renewal doesn't take place next year.

This is not Australian edition!. I'm really not happy! just paid for 1 year subscription and discovered this is the American version of this BHG. I didn't bother to read reviews for the first time before i handed money over because I already have high regard already for the Aussie mag. REALLY annoyed. How do I get my money back?

How to unsubscribe. I have the same problem as I thought it was the Australian version. On the email from iTunes, there is mention of unsubscribing by going to your iTunes Account and undo auto renewal for my monthly subscription. Hope it works and I would not be charged next month. The Australian version is available on the Zinio App. Hope this helps

Disgraceful & devious. I was extremely disappointed & angry to find that like so many before me I had been tricked into buying a 12 mth subscription for America & not Australia! I want my money back please or a conversion to the Aussie version. Due to the differences in seasons etc most of the information is useless :-(

Mrs. Like others, I purchased the year's sub believing I was getting the Australian version. I was able to view one month's mag - and I liked it. However, now I can't access the new digital version. I've tried to contact them but they will only accept American zip codes on their enquiry form! How come if they are able to pop up, offering the mag for sale all over the world, that they can't provide support for the problems that arise? Can someone please help?

Very sneaky. Judging by the 100% of reviews, no-one is happy they got stung by this mob in thinking that the magazine was Australian. Time always allows good people to get even. And I bet NO-ONE renews their subscription. Sneaky people never win in the long run!!!!

Really annoyed. I am so angry this is not the Aussie version and it doesn't work I have tried contacting iTunes to report a problem 7 times in the last month and had no response but then what do they care they have my money and I have nothing NOT HAPPY!!!!!

US Better Homes and Gardens. As with everyone else I bought this subscription thinking it was an Australian mag. I followed the help menu in ITunes and with the help of a lovely gentleman called Matthew at Apple, got my money refunded. However he can't explain why it is advertised with the Aussie mags and suggested that I leave feedback.

Remember to read the description before you purchase. Well not to be smart if you read the blurb you would quit clearly see that it's not the Aussie version. Got me to but only cause I didn't read the blurb myself. For a sepo mag it's not to bad, it's along the same lines as ours but absolutely Sepo, still I think it's a good purchase cause there's a lot of ideas in the mag. So out of 10, 7.5, Remember to read the description before you purchase

Great Ideas. Love the ideas! Thanks! Glad I can browse the mags without having to carry each of them..

Not for a quick flip. I like the content of this mag in general, however with all the adds I find I like to just flick through a lot of the pages. This is where the issue lays; this app downloads a page at a time as you view them and it takes way too to download! An average of 30 seconds each. Before you assume it's got anything to do with my internet, think again; I subscribe to just about every digital Aus mag and none have the same issue.

This is the US version, not Australian. Like everyone else who has left a review I have now realized this is the US version, not Australian, and only after I'd paid for a year subscription. Articles are lovely and ideas great but retail and seasonal gardening info is useless to us. Very disappointed indeed. Would like money back or transfer to Aus version please.

Very unhappy. Like most I was not aware it was the US version and having been trying to cancel for the last 6 weeks to avoid the automatic renewal cost. All attempts to make contact have failed to provide correct information. Apple have let a scammer in and I am not happy

Disappointing!. Disappointed that this is not the Australian version and I have purchased 12 months subscription! OK to read, but seasons are back to front. When is the Aussie version available??

Also not happy. Very unhappy about not being Aus version. Would never have bought subscription if I had realised. Like previous reviewer normally read the extras, but this time just assumed it was the Aus mag and already knew what to expect in it.

Very frustrating app!. Like everyone else, I have had nothing but problems with this app since purchasing a subscription in Dec/2011. Downloaded the first 5 issues but have been unable to download any since. I also live in Canada and the page for app support will not accept my Canadian postal code. Funny---they had no trouble accepting my Canadian money! The last time this happened, Meredith Corp. told me it was the responsibility of iTunes to fix it. This time, iTunes told me to contact BHG. It's a classic case of "passing the buck". Will definitely not be renewing my subscription!

Misleading .... I was disappointed about app because you have to buy the magazine . All you see is the cover... I found it misleading .

One of the best apps I've had!. I hardly ever review but I'm so impressed with how BHG have run with the concept of their mag on the iPad I just had to comment! It's the best one on the iPad so far that I've seen. They erased everything they knew about setting up their mag and started fresh with the iPad in mind. there are all sorts of buttons to play with and clever ideas working with the iPads abilities. Plus it's landscape oriented which I much prefer. Keep up the great work!!!

Hate it!. I can no longer access any of my subscriptions.

Doesn't recognize subscription. I'm not picky. If i subscribe to a magazine i want to be able to read it. Since the new update it wont recognize my iTunes password even though it clearly works since I'm writing this review.

Review. It was not FREE! It was definitely misleading. Now I can't even delete the darn app.

Fix Your App BHG!. It's high time you fixed your app BHG! I now have May and June magazines that won't download!

E issue. Ok If you just want to receive one issue on a year's subscription. Continuous aggravating endurance to receive subsequent issues. Not worth the time or money. However, the online mag is great - just impossible to access.

Frustrated. I have tried numerous times to read the digital copy, keep filling out the registration and then it indicates there is an error. Tried to contact the company but the form only accepts a zipcode and I live in Canada with a postal code. I have no trouble downloading Vanity Fair and a Canadian magazine. I am not impressed! Grouchy Canuck.

I gave up. After weeks of communicating with their help people, and getting the same answers over and over, I gave up. Apple must have agreed that this app is trash, because they refunded my money.

Better Homes & Gardens. Update from Feb 1st never worked. App just says "installing...", can't access anything! Sad ;-(

Great!. This is really well done. The content has been formatted to take advantage of the iPad, it is not just a PDF of the printed magazine. I would have given it 5 stars if I could print or otherwise save recipes for later use. You can "share" them, but you have to sign up for an account, or sign in through Facebook or other account.

Useless. I thought this was an app - it’s not. It’s just links to buy issues of their magazine. I don’t need an app to do that.

Aggravating. While the pages are nice and navigating is easy, it is almost impossible to download next months issue. Each time it goes through a series of errors and can't recognize your password to log in. Sometimes if you keep trying it will finally come. I wouldn't subscribe again as it is so frustrating. I do like the iPad for other books and magazines. This one is a waste!

Great App. This is a fantastic magazine. They gave done a great job on this application.

Gone downhill. In 2017 I began my second annual digital subscription and immediately noticed that changes were made. Specifically, all of the features I previously used and enjoyed have been removed. In my opinion, this now offers absolutely no benefit (other than perhaps saving on paper) to buying the physical magazine. There are no interactive features and the only way to navigate is to flip page after page. I am completely disappointed and annoyed by the changes and have no intention or renewing my subscription again.Had I known ahead of time I wouldn't have re-subscribed.

Not happy. Only received 3 magazines. Not happy!

Like it. I enjoy using this app to view my paid Better Homes & Gardens subscription. Each month, there is at least one interactive portion of the on-line magazine that is associated with either a room ( you can change wall colour, drapery colour, pillow fabrics etc) or with a planting guide/pot where you have a selection of flowers/shrubbery that can be either identified or mixed and matched (I planted my summer pots using an interactive article this spring:) There is so much to enjoy including recipies and interviews with some clever DIYer. I find the on-line viewing to be convenient for home and travel and I haven't had any problems with crashing of the site. It makes sense for me.

Blurred. Only half the issue loaded clearly... The rest is blurry and I can't seem to get it fixed. Very disappointed ... Needs to be corrected. Sorry I purchased.

Doesn't work for print subscribers. I've been corresponding back and forth with their customer support to try to determine why I can get access to the digital editions as a print subscriber and their assistance has been useless. I will not be renewing my subscription!

Comment. It is not free as said.....

Previously downloaded issues gone!. What were you thinking!? I had downloaded issues I wanted for reference, with bookmarks, etc. AND IT'S ALL GONE with this update. Now I have to download issues AGAIN. This update asks me if I want to restore previous purchases, requests my password and does not do the restore. I must restore each issue individually, a very time consuming process. Very frustrating as I can't see the table of contents of an issue until it is downloaded. If I could see the TOCs, I'D at least know which issues to download, thus saving time. Major mistake with this update. Please be more careful and thoughtful with future updates.

One of my all time favorite apps. This app makes the digital edition even better than the print version. Interactive features like Color a Room are fun to play with, and live links to shopping and other sources just make the reading experience that much more enjoyable.

Disappointed. It use to be good now I can not access my digital subscription on my iPads. It won't work with the new iPad air !! Customer support will NOT answer any of my 20 yes TWENTY EMAILS ASKING FOR HELP !!! I really hate any of the apps that are in the News Stand !! You can not back up any of MY MAGAZINES AT ALL to my home computer !! I paid for them they are MINE AND I SHOULD BE ABLE TO BACK THEM UP PRINT THEM ETC !! Also you can NOT read them if you do not have internet access like it says you can !! Any app that you have to use with the news stand are not worth the money !

Too bad!. Loved loved loved this app before the latest updated. Now mag will not load properly, can only view in portrait mode (while app says it is designed for landscape). Spent over one hour on phone with tech support to no avail. They don't know what is wrong or how to fix it. Ads are taking up too much space and don't scroll quickly or easily. I'm kicking myself that I had sent BH & G raving review earlier in the summer before upgrade. Skip this app and go for print version until things are fixed. What a disappointment.

Login issues. Like other users, I have also tried to login to my BHG account. It is not accepted in the app, but it is online. I also am having trouble downloading the May issue because for some reason my login is required. Once again, the login information is either not accepted or I need to enter my print subscription if formation, which I don't even have as I have on,y ever been a digital subscriber. I have emailed the BHG help people, and I hope they can fix this soon because I love this magazine!

Great App. I had no problems with the app - be sure to READ the tutorial at the start of your first download. You have to start in the library, click on an issue to download it. The navigation is simple once you understand it. With the first downloaded issue, you will see a quick tutorial. I loved the crispness of the colors and pictures in this digital edition and the fact that I can read it anywhere via my iPad.

Works for me. This app works fine for me. I had no problems registering and downloading the magazines. I think that the magazine looks beautiful, and I love the extra video features, very cool. I would prefer, however, to view this in portrait mode rather than landscape, so that is why I knocked off a star. Not sure why others are having issues...that stinks because I think this app is great.

Same problem. I am having the same problem and I noticed that when I try to login to the BHG website and go to manage subscriptions it says something about 3rd party subscription. I think I did this either through airline mileage or a school fundraiser. This might be the problem why it is not working but obviously needs to be fixed as I am still a current PAID subscriber and why bother sending me an email about free digital editions. Also I subscribed to WIRED via airline mileage and the digital editions work fine so it obviously can be done. Please get this fixed sooner than later!

Why??. I have to agree, I am not happy with the new update and having to download all the issues again. Everything I had already downloaded is gone! And you have to have the app open or the download stops. This was a great app and I really enjoyed it when traveling. But because of having to download everything again I'll have to rate it less. I'm afraid it will happen again with another update.

One of the best apps out there.. I regularly use tons of apps, including different publications from the newsstand. BHG stands out above most apps because of its classic, reliable content fused beautifully and simply with interactive media. They take full advantage of the technology offered by the iPad and are one of the few publications that aren't behind the times. Way to go BHG.

Loved it until it stopped working. I was able to access the issues for two months and suddenly it stopped! It would not download additional issues-it stopped acknowledging my subscription. It was great when it worked and if they could fix there issues I would never give it up. So far, support told me how to log on twice and then told me maybe I forgot my password. When I replied these solutions were unsuccessful -- no response. Very disappointed.

Hooray!. I'm so happy with this app now. I struggled with finding how to get the free issues for subscribers and, after buying a magazine inadvertently, I found out from customer service that I needed to open a new account, even though I had an online account. After doing this, I had no problems. I hope the latest update makes that process easier. Having gotten past that issue, I love having the issue on my iPad and the features it brings.

New Updates lose all old issues!!!. No instructions on where to find account number to restore old purchases. By the way- your account number is the first 9 numbers after "BHG" on your mailing label. Once I got into it that way I still only had the last three issues available. My subscription is so old that the email connected to my account number isn't even around. There is no way to update your email address- only the password. And to update the password they send a link to -guess what- your email!!! I've had so many issues when they update these magazine apps over the years. Every time I try to use it there's a new update and I start from scratch. It's SO frustrating. The "help" section has NOTHING! Please fix and restore our old issues and make it more user friendly.

Paperless perfection. Here's what I think BHG does better than any other digital magazine (and I HOPE that MSL will follow their lead)--recipes! When the recipe button is pressed, it puts you on the website version of the recipe where you can share, print or copy the link to save it in Paprika. So far, no other digital magazine app (or through Zinio) allows that function. Well done BHG!

Great app. I just downloaded this app and it was super easy and very easy to use. Some of the pages take a little bit to download, not a big deal though. The magazine pictures are so clear and the color is bright and beautiful. I can lay in bed and look at the magazine on the IPad and not bother my husband as opposed to reading the magazine with the light on. Highly recommend!

Confusing login procedure. Downloaded tonight. Current subscriber. It was not clearly apparent how to set up at first, just as others have said. There was no step where you create a password, yet you need one to sign in after you connect your device. I forced it to send me a password by choosing, "forgot my password" and use the email you used at the first set up screen. Using their password It let me sign in after that. you can change it. It did abruptly close on me while I was reading an issue, then worked fine. Hope this helps.

Awesome!. Recently decided to subscribe to print edition because it now includes digital edition for iPad. Well worth it! The digital edition is interactive and includes videos if you want to view them. Highly recommend subscribing. I was able to download the last 4 issues within days of subscribing. Way to go BHG!

Gift Subscriptions, cancellations, and transfers.. I have been alternating getting and giving gift subscriptions with my mom for years, and so when the ipad version came out i was very excited to start getting magazines i could keep and not try to just save the best bits, or resort to giant hoardeer style stacks all over the house. I found that you can't take your current subscription and convert it to an electronic one, nor can you give gifts. add that to the ridiculous price per issue and no i have no subscription at all. boo. should have done my homework better before i cancelled.

Very disapointed. I just got my ipad today and the first thing I did was install BHG app so I could finally take my favorite mag with me. Imagine my disappointment when after much futile going round and round I read in the review section that I have to pay again if I want the digital version!!! I have been a subscriber for 15 years or more and it seems to me if you want to keep loyal subscribers you need to cater to their wishes. Everything I read let's me know we don't want to pay again for a digital edition, I don't have to with my national geographic nor my quilting mag, why should I with BHG? I'll stick with my printed version until you guys get with the program!!!

Greatest Magazine Ever!. I love everything about this magazine! It is the cornerstone of the American Way! I am obsessed with Interior Design & I was also able to design pools with conscious materials last month with 1 2 page spread. I plan to give subscriptions away as stocking stuffers this year because I am big on buying American these days & I think this magazine boosts the way of the family with wholesome products! Can’t wait for next month’s issue. Bravo!

Best. This is the nicest magazine app I have seen yet. The navigation is great, and the photos are gorgeous. I did not have a problem logging in using my account number. It may have helped that I already had an online BHG account and it recognized that and was requesting that password. I am not sure.

Can't even log in.... I downloaded the app and created an account - or so I thought. The app never asks you to create a password, but after creating an account it asks you to log in with a password. When I hit "forgot password (hoping they might send me a generic one) it says it cannot find my account. So, I can create an account, but not a password, and therefore cannot log in. What a waste! I can't even review the app itself, although the main page won't rotate so I'm already finding it irritating..

Like it better than the magazine!. Had zero problems creating a digital account or downloading issues. Maybe they've sorted out the problems. I'm LOVING this app. The pictures are so clear and the navigation is very straightforward. I compared the app with my hard copy and it appears to be missing 2-3 very small articles, but the sparseness of ads is wonderful!

Great functionality and features. I love the eMag from Better Homes and Gardens. They have great interactive features and I don't have to figure out what to do with an ever growing stack of old magazines. Best of all, I can review old issues anytime I want! The app is easy to navigate. It's all the good content I wanted, only better.

Non working app. I used to be able to get the magazine on my iPad and loved it, but no longer. I renewed my subscription which included two year e-subscription, but for the last three months have been unable to access the current issues in my iPad (they only show issues for sale). I've contacted customer service 3 times and each time they told me to sign in as the problem has been corrected; still no magazine access. I recontacted customer service over a week ago and this time haven't even gotten a response. Very disappointing!

Was better years ago. Bh&G used to have a better app. This app does not immediately open the magazine to where you left off - you have to click through a few screens to get to where you were. And when paging through the magazine, you often get a blank page and a spinning wheel - even when the magazine has been fully downloaded. The wheel doesn’t go away until you swipe back a few pages. You may get the blank page when you swipe forward again. May need to try a few times.... Good content, the app is just meh.

Frustrated beyond belief. After more than a month of e-mailing back and forth to customer support and 2 lengthy phone calls this APP simply does not work. Support claims I am typing in my e-mail and password incorrectly, but I am! I don't have this problem with ANY other APP or any other website I need to type my information into. What is MOST frustrating is that it previously worked! I sent them an e-mail asking how to get new editions & they told me to delete and re-install & "they would all be there" - has NEVER worked since. Very frustrating, especially because I love the print editions. Sure wish they could figure it out!

Works fine. I just downloaded the app and didn't have any problem restoring earlier issues. It took a little time but it didn't cost me anything. In fact at first the only option I saw was to buy a subscription, but when I tried to do that it very kindly reminded me that I had several months left and didn't need to buy but just sign in. The app is working great.

Enjoying both print and digital. I am enjoying both versions of the magazine. I had no trouble getting the free digital version attached to the print subscription. I just followed the directions. However, I give the ap 4stars because the magazine took so long to load and I have not been able to access previous issues.

Love it! Love it!. I love reading the magazine with all of the enhancements this way! Much better than the paper issue. After I download the digital issue, I give my paper copy away. Works great on my iPad! If the other magazines would give us a digital price that is comparable to the print one, I would buy all magazines digitally.

Beautiful App!. I've always enjoyed BHG magazine, and this digital version is awesome. They must have fixed any log in problems since the reviews from October, 2011 because my log in and all operations were no problem at all. So far the app is beautiful, easy to navigate, useful and entertaining. Now I can leave my print copy at my business for clients to read and have my digital version all to myself. Bravo, BHG!

Stuck. After much messing around I finally got my digital subscription. It's very cool, but the app sticks and I can't change publications. Can't get anything on the touch screen to come up but I can swipe pages within one issue. Extremely frustrating and now I can't get access to the other issues unless I uninstall and reinstall all the publications I've downloaded, which takes forever. I usually start the download before bed so it's done after I wake in the morning. Lots of room for improvement.

Fantastic. Fantastic app. Worthy of being a Mac app because It. Just. Works. If you are having trouble with it, may I suggest you ask for help. I've had not a single problem. I've downloaded all issues without a glitch. And I'm using a 1st gen iPad, so I don't think glitches are the result of wonky tech. And ...I am a current print subscriber and I was given access to all previous issue with no problem. Thanks BHG, I stay a subscriber!

Love the content hate the price. The digital version of Better Homes and Gardens is SPECTACULAR! However it seems crazy that the digital version would be more expensive than the newsstand price, considering there is no paper, printing or shipping costs. I would love to see a yearly subscription price in the digital version..... Im hoping that a yearly subscription will be available in the near future. Until then, I will be reading my paper copy :(

Good Start. I don't really have much to complain about. Using the digital subscription saves me from having tons of magazines lying around. It's a nice organized way to keep my issues and the user interface is easy enough to navigate. I'm excited for them to keep working on adding more digital content, and enjoy what they currently have.

Fantastic!. I'm a print subscriber and I had problems registering. I just signed up again as if I had not done it before and it worked. Reading a magazine this way is fantastic. There are resource links and actual video clips that make it even more interesting than the print version. They utilized all the features they could that would capitalize on the advantages of an iPad. It's cool - once you get registered.

Fun!. After about two days of off and on trying, I was able to get this app working. I enjoyed using it today while I had some time...I liked the audio clips and being able to click to see how a room looked in different paint colors. I also like being able to bookmark recipes. While I still enjoy print copies, I immensely enjoyed this app...it really enriched the information that was in the mag. and the bright colors are very inspiring!

Great when it works correctly. The magazine itself is very well done, a great example of an iPad version being done right. However the app is buggy, with downloading and crashing issues. Also, and this is really upsetting, I deleted an old issue I had purchased separately (not as part of my subscription) to make some room on my iPad and it isn't restorable. The app wants me to buy it again! All of the other magazines I read on the iPad (about 10 - I'm a reader) have a restore option. I hope restore will be added soon, it's a rip-off that it isn't included out of the gate.

No access. Clearly there is a serious problem with the app. After numerous attempts and calls to customer service, I still see nothing available in my library. Customer service staff is not sufficiently knowledgable to understand what is happening. A reading of the reviews will confirm that half of the individuals wanting this app are having problems. Have had a print subscription for over 20 years, and would like to get the digital version, which should be available at no extra cost. To the leadership at BH&G, please have someone give this their attention, and get it resolved. Than you!

Works fine. For those having trouble with signing and already get the paper edition, be sure the app registered your device first. There is a spot to the bottom right on the opening page that is for people who already have a subscription. Once I registered my device, it works fine.

Disappointed!!. I’ve held an account to BH&G via iTunes for several years & can’t believe that an app could be updated & then be provided with directions that don’t work! I’ve followed all the directions given to previous disappointed subscribers. It simply doesn’t work. I’ve put in in email as requested but it says “the user doesn’t exist”. I’m so very disappointed with your app development team!!

Print Subscriber Access Needs Improvement. I'm a print subscriber and saw info in the magazine about getting the digital version free. Unfortunately, the process did not go smoothly. After entering my subscription info, it said something like, "Congratulations, you now have access to BHG online. Sign in with your e-mail address and password," but there was no place to create a password. After several e-mails to support, they suggested clicking on the "I forgot my password" link. That worked, but come on, BHG. That's like having to crawl in through the basement window to get into your house.

Stolen. All my digital BHG magazines were deleted by BHG! I had recently purchased a new iPad to replace older version and when I transferred my data I noticed that all my BHG mags were missing. They would not restore so I called customer service. They told me I needed to have a separate digital subscription to get them from now on and that my old copies would not be restored. I owned every digital copy since the very first one and now they are all gone! I have been a print subscriber for years and now all is lost. Is that fair? No. I considered all those digital additions my personal property so I want them back. All of them. BHG stole all my digital additions SHAME ON THEM,

Upgrade is the worst I've ever seen.!.. Cannot tell you how ticked off I am with this "upgrade". Called customer service to find out why I have to spend my time and purchased bandwidth to download, again. They have switched to Adobe for the App and all content has been switched. Can only assume they are going to be using Flash, the dying standard, instead of HTML5. Guess what, no Flash on the iPad. Customer service manager had no idea what I was talking about. Zero stars rating if I could. We are going to delete the app and maybe the print subscription when it runs out. Seriously bad upgrade.!.

Terrible upgrade. I've lost everything and the upgraded app won't allow me to download telling me that my address (of 11 years) is wrong. I checked the email confirmation from iTunes and there is no account number which is the only other alternative to download (again) the missing purchased issues. It is incredibly frustrating to update apps only to find that the developers have not adequately tested their upgrades. UP grade is supposed to be better! I made the original purchase using my iTunes account; I should be able to log in to the new version with the same account.

Wonderful. I think it is great that BHG cares about their readers enough that the digital subscription is included when you pay for the print subscription!! This is how all the magazines should be, but it is sad to say that BHG is one of the few that is NOT trying to rip-off their customers by making them pay twice for the exact same magazine! Thank you BHG!!!!!

Get it together. My review is similar to the rest. Logging on is difficult and painful. It took me 2-3 weeks, because customer service said my print edition didn't start until Nov. But the reality was that it renewed in November. Anyway... I waited a couple weeks and it took me about 40 minutes to try to find a way in....then my library wouldnt load. finally i got in thanks to the suggestions of some of the other reviewers. (you have to log in and out... And appear to register as a first time user....something like that....ugh) My other magazine editions on the iPad appear and function with no problems. these guys just don't have it together yet.

Bad Service. After over a month of emails back and forth, still no access to subscription. The last email said I couldn't access app because I had replaced my iPad. They claim their app cannot be used on multiple iPads. I explained I restored from a backup of my old iPad and all other newsstand purchases and apps worked fine. They claim you will be able to access your subscription on multiple iPads on January 17th. After almost 2 months, I requested a refund. Buyer Beware!

Great way to thumb thru magazine. App works fine for me. Little + symbols allow you to get more info when you want it. Small directions permit scrolling to more info. It's a great 'clean' way to see the pictures then look further if you want more details. Also, I can now flip thru the magazine in the early morning without waking him up.

new version update. It is very easy to restore previous issues after the update. The instructions clearly say to click the little icon in the upper right-hand corner on the Library page. You have to sign in, but everything can be restored for free. The email announcing the update also has a message that previous issues must be restored. Don't panic -- just read.
