Great app overall; lots of features, great food selection charts and very easy to use! Would be great to store and readily access previous selected foods or have the search engine for foods match more the exact entry; the entry for a multiple ingredient food like a custom salad or smoothie makes for a lot of redundant entries.
This app works well for tracking my ketogenic diet. I did pay for premium and I think it's worth it.
Needs a share recipe feature!
If this has a share recipe feature, I'm not seeing it anyway. I mean I need to be able to send a recipe to a friend so they can import it to carb manager without duplicating my efforts. Otherwise it's a great app!
I went ahead and subscribed because I like the photo recognition (only 3 free). Still exploring all the features. The automatic calculation of nutrients and effective carbs is outstanding. The only thing I'm missing is a way to input items that aren't on the database. Another program I have used allows you to scan barcode snap photo of front and back nutritional info and submit to the database. Maybe I just haven't figured out how yet? Anyway it's great. Fairly pricey for full function. $$$
Extensive list of foods
Including restaurant meals and the capability to set up and save favorites is outstanding when following a lifestyle like this.
Suits my Needs
I recently started the Atkins diet after reading the book, The Case Against Sugar. This app is easy to use and helps me keep track of my daily carb count. I haven't tried any other apps except Lose It. Lose it is not specific to counting carbs so I switched to this. I would highly recommend it for carb counters!
Beware! Bait and Switch!
I just purchased this app for the listed price and went to sync my Apple Watch... apparently the ability to sync fitness devices and do anything constructive with the app is an additional monthly subscription.
How horrible of this developer to not state this boldly up front!!
If the developer is reading this, please correctly advertise and I would like my money back.
I've only had the app for a few days. There are a few big things that I'd love to see in a future update:
1. I'd like the copy feature to work. There's a button for it but I cannot copy. I meal prep so often times I have 5 breakfasts and lunches that are the same.
2. When I'm searching for an item and I type in a key word it would be helpful if it recommended things from previous logs. So, if I type in "sausage" then it also suggests recent sausages I've input.
3. The restaurant database is nice but part of my keto planning is low carbs. So if I go to a drive thru and get a sandwich no bun it'd be nice to just to be able to add the meat/cheese/eggs of the sandwich. I.e. "Restaurant 'M' cheeseburger, no bun" I've had to use my previous tracker to add these these custom things.
Im still learning and looking forward to updates. I am not going to subscribe for more features or online access. I paid for the app as it is.
I am happy that it focuses on net carbs which is what I'm needing.
Great help while getting started on Keto
So far so good. I'm a food lover and a decent home chef. But I've never really tracked carbs before. Now I'm trying to get a grip on my inflammation issues and my doctors recommended a low carb/keto diet. This is helping me make meals my family (and me) still like and keep my carbs low to stay in ketosis.
Update. New iPhone7 and now the colors aren't on the app. What's up???
This app helps me maintain my weight as well as has helped me lose weight. Sometimes I change my choices based on the information the app provides.
Much better than other apps
Wow, this app is really put together well. I've had other apps and The depth and ease of use of this one far surpasses the others. Being able to just dictate your daily meals or foods and it just entering is awesome. Five stars
