Wärtsilä iSailor Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Rip off?. When somebody purchase an item, only to find later that the seller decided that they are only renting it to you. So even tho you purchased the item, you must pay annual rent. Then they get you again! My original version covered both my iPhone and my iPad. In preparation for a passage, I paid the rental fee for the app on my iPhone. But now they want me to rent the iPad version too. Quite nasty and greedy. I do my planning on my phone, and navigate within the iPad.

Breach of contract. When I purchased the charts lifetime updates were part of the contract. Now they change the terms and there is a expensive subscription service to get what I already paid for. Don’t buy this product.

Long time user chased away by increasing fees. I’ve been using iSailor since 2013, and have logged well over 10,000 miles with it. The new increases in chart subscriptions are INSANE! Charts that we’re $25 a year for updates are now $99?! If you want detailed info like marina amenities etc it’s even more! I’ll be switching to navionics and getting more bang for my buck. Too bad I really liked this app.

Works great. I use iSailor to navigate my Alberg 35 from Baltimore on the Chesapeake. I've been using it for a couple of years and find that it's easy to create routes. I like that I can go back and forth between my iPhone 5 and iPad mini. The in app purchases (tides, AIS, marinas) are reasonably priced and the charts get updated. I've tried some other low cost navigation apps but this is the one I come back to most times.

Extortion. Wow this sure was a great app before you decided to extort your entire user base. I used to use this to teach my sailing classes basic navigation, but I won’t be paying a mandatory subscription for updates. I advise you to change it back and save your app while you still can, because these reviews won’t be getting any better.

Horrible app!. One cannot create a route to sail from east to west across the date line. Instead, if you want to sail from Hawaii to Fiji, they expect you to head for the Panama Canal or Cape Horn and sail the long way. I have contacted customer support, but they won’t respond. Also, charts I purchased this year are already expired and they expect me to re-purchase them as a subscription. No thanks!!! I’ll be demanding ALL my money back from these crooks.

Best price Best app!!. I bought this app when it was .99 cents! I'm still using it today! I work at a Lodge and we use it for our skiffs that don't have any electronics and it's fabulous! I've used about 10 different map apps and this is the best! Love iSailor!!

Horribly Disappointed. I have been using this app for years. I have spent a fair amount of money on different chart regions over the years as I felt it was a decent value and it offered updates for free. Remember that US charts (ENC) are free to the public. I felt that paying for them through isailor was worth it as the app provided value. To now change the rules to long time app owners and say that if I want to update my charts I have to re-purchase my charts all over again every year would mean an annual cost of nearly $120 every year. There are just better options out there in this market. This company may want to seriously consider grandfathering prior isailor owners or it is likely that this nose dive towards a 1 star rating will continue. If you just sail in one region, it might be worth it. But if you sail in multiple regions, the cost is prohibitive. Disappointed.

Missing tides. Nice app, haven’t tried integration with AIS. A few suggestions for improvement: 1. tides (tidal data) 2. Weather - couldn’t figure out why it’s not displayed on a chart 3. Watch app - doesn’t seem to work at this time

Fantastic. I've used iSailor for several years and have never had ANY issues. I've never had it crash. It's very stable. I export my routes to my wife when she stays home. She knows exactly where I've been during the day. It's easy to use. I recently purchased the "Weather" part of the app and love it. Tells me everything I need to know; tides, wind, pressure, wave height, etc. Don't look any further, this is the app you need for boating and sailing.

Problem with new IOS WiFi. Hi, I’m using this app with iPad air2. But after I updated IOS to 11.1, the AIS sensor in the app could not connect to PILOT TECH V3 WiFi AIS. So, please I want the solution for this problem. I just bought the iPad Air 2 only for this app.

One of the best interfaces around but disappointed about subscription. Update January 2019. The change in iSailor App to a no-discount subscription model for the expensive charts is not welcome. I use both iNavx and iSailor since I also want to have access to NOAA electronic charts, but am often flummoxed by the iNavx UI. iSailor’s interface accomplishing tasks like building a route easier. Now if only an iPad could work in the rain or in bright daylight!

Terrible Disappointment. I have been using iSailor for several years and have been a strong advocate of the software to anyone who would ask for recommendations of a navigation app. Your companies decision to move to a subscription based service will likely move you to the lower ranks of a navigation app. There are other apps available that have better features than iSailor and now you are competing on their level. I now have to start looking at other apps due to this change.

AIS Unavailable. Not sure why I can’t get AIS data on other vessels around me. They don’t even appear on the chart for me at all. Disappointing to say the least.

Rip off change to subscription pricing. As a long time user of iSailor, I am extremely disappointed by the move to subscription. Hiding behind the fact that deep in the terms and conditions it says you have the right to change is pathetic when the change is of this magnitude. It is also short sighted - with the previous model I would buy charts that were of transient interest rather than necessary for everyday use. If I continue to use the product at all, I will now stick to the charts I actually need - a small subset of those that I have purchased over the years. I certainly won’t be buying additional portfolios. If you have to move to subscription, it would have been better to have a single charge for all updates. I’m sure your spreadsheet experts will ‘prove’ that this won’t generate as much money as doing this by chart portfolio but I think they underestimate the extent to which people will simply go elsewhere with the current model. My assumption is that the target market for this product is no longer the recreational sailor. The good news is that there are plenty of alternatives.

Not happy. Customer service is really nonexistent. I object to having to be a part of a subscription service when I already paid for my charts. Especially at the exorbitant prices they want for the update. In their FAQ you would think they would give detailed instruction on how to unsubscribe. But no that is not the case. They just say that you can without any details as to how. Was a nice light nav program that was easy to stick in my pocket as a back up to our installed chart plotting systems. Got me out of Singapore in 2013 and all the way to Australia when our new chart plotter system on the tug I was working on failed miserably. Disappointing in service and “new” updating structure. If I could give less than 1 star I would.

New owners now charging annually for charts previously purchased. Latest update automatically charges an annual subscription fee (which is greater than the original purchase price) for EVERY CHART FOLIO YOU BOUGHT! Unless opted out, your credit card will be charged every year! No thanks. I’m done with iSailor, since my PURCHASED charts will now no longer be updated.

Bait and switch. Really annoyed by the move to a subscription maps model after I had purchased maps at full price before the policy change with the expectation that I would not be nickel-and-dimed for maps I had already paid for. Those prior map purchases should have been grandfathered. Such is life. I’m switching to QTVLM anyway, so sayonara.

Was great until update. This app was great until the recent upgrade. I already purchased maps that they want me to repurchase through a new subscription service. No thanks. I don’t appreciate the deceit. I’ll look elsewhere for my future navigation needs.

For serious sailors, this is a great app. I have 35 routes around Savannah, Georgia which I use on a motor boat at 25 knots. Easy to follow. I just completed a 900 nm passage from Tampa, FL to Savannah, offshore in the Gulf and Atlantic. All the planning and onboard navigation was done on an iPad with iSailor (with considerable prudent backup that was unneeded). This included three unanticipated ports of call which required rerouting while at sea. Excellent accuracy, even in tight quarters. (However, pay attention to expected GOS accuracy). The skipper said “the nav job was fantastic.” There is a reasonable learning curve to iSailor because this is a sophisticated, prosumer-level product. There are numerous app-purchase chart packs and instrumentation add-ones. If you just want to go around the lake, the app is overkill.

Top app / Transas customers disappointment. As a career professional mariner, instructor and active recreational boater I would say that this was a top application. Very useful and fair. The motivation for the change is evident and unless they somehow revert to the way that the charts were managed I am afraid that most customers will delete it from their devices. I think that the changes have not been communicated effectively and long time Transas customers will be very disappointed.

Horrible customer service. I got a new phone and only one purchased chart showed back up through my iTunes, I purchased 3 for my area and one one showed back up no help or anything getting it back. And all my ais wasn't uploaded back up either. Horrible customer service.

Don’t bother. New owners are rent seeking. I had the old app which worked perfectly. Haven’t updated to the new subscription based app and now it no longer shows my position on the chart. Deleted the app and moved on to a better product.

New subscription is terrible. This new update with the subscription service is horrible. Before the update this was my go to app for quick navigation. Now I will find another app to put my money towards.

Excellent navigation aid. I’ve been using iSailor for a few years now on both my iPhone and iPad. I’ve had literally no issues! I admit that I often don’t read documentation as I should, but that’s precisely why I chose to write a review. It is a very easy app to learn and to use, which allowed effective use from the very start. So rather than studying the documentation to begin using the app, one turns to the documentation only to bring in more of the advanced navigational features as desired. Highly recommended!

Amazing app. Used this app as primary navigation on a 1,000 mile sailing delivery through the Caribbean. Amazing accuracy!!!!

New update scam. I'm more than niggled by this extortionate cost of having to now pay for updating previously purchased charts which I assumed were free to update once purchased. Was a great app but out of principal, I'll be switching back to Navionics.

Works for me. I’ve had iSailor for 8 years and use it to navigate the shallow Gulf of Mexico where I live. The value is great plus I bought my local maps for another 2 bucks or something. I love it

Help!. Can somebody please help setup an AIS plug to the iSailor app? I get data from the AIS plug I have (Class A) but the trace log shows it as Red. Another Ship uses the same setup, and it works. Mine does not, and nobody has emailed or called me back. Please help me rectify.

Great app, love the subscription model. I have been using this app for 2 years now. Great app ! Some folks have commented on that subscription as a problem, but i love it! other sailing apps charge over 80$ for their charts. With iSailor you can get those same charts for 2$ a year. Let me see.... 80$ in app purchase, vs 2$ a year in app purchase. I love the 2$$. Thank you iSailor !!

My Go-To Backup. This program has been great. The user interface is simple, but does everything I need it to do. Having a separate data set on charting information is invaluable. Since I have Navionics charts on my main chart plotter, having that chart data repeated on my backup device is a waste, these charts are a different data set, and looking carefully at where they are different is a valuable input. The subscription model for charts is perfectly reasonable. I mean, come on guys, if you want updated charts you have to PAY for them! If you are happy with old, out of date charts (why would you be???), just cancel the subscription and keep using the old ones.

Bummed. Really bummed you decided to make the change. Was a great app now not so much. Already overpriced maps, now require subscription for updates. This puts you near the top price for any navigation app. The update even convoluting the simple name of iSailor and a much less attractive icon..... really wish there was some way to roll back changes on apps.... certainly not a contender for my go to nav app any longer. There are many choices that are far more competitive on pricing for maps and functionality. Unless the revert some changes I would look elsewhere. Sad panda.

Excellent marine charting software and support. I am professional mariner and use iSailor every day at work. It is easy to use, intuitive, and a powerful piloting tool

Sailed over 2k miles using this app as primary navigation. Successfully used this app for sailing from Seattle to Alaska and back in 2019. It worked great. It has tons of great features which well worth the price. Too bad there hasn’t been any updates in the last years. Would love to have better integration with newer versions of ipad or more customizable instrument panels

Solid charting app. Needs some upgrades.. iSailor is a solid charting app. It presents the charts in a way that experienced paper chart users would expect. Lots of customization available too. Add-on subscriptions for things like tides, currents, AIS, etc. It hasn’t been updated in three years though, and in those three years other charting apps have caught up and surpassed iSailor, especially in things like route planning, automatic route planning, overlays, etc. I use iSailor as my chart plotter but use other apps for route planning and such. Always good to have a few apps to refer to and to compare.

Fantastic!. I am amazed at this powerful well designed application. It does everything I expected and more! I will give it 6 stars if I could!

Charts updates changing to yearly subscription pricing. As others who have recently gave a 1 star rating for changing to a yearly subscription pricing business model, I too have been using iSailor for several years and have been very happy with iSailor until now. It appears that in order to get chart updates, they now want to charge you the initial chart price every year. I have tried to contact customer service about this and other issues, but since iSailor got bought out by the current owners, I have had no response on any of my customer service requests, even after multiple times contacting them. Their customer service under the previous owners was very responsive. With this kind of service and their new chart update policy, I have no idea how the current owners plan to stay in business.

Great app!. I’ve been using this for years while sailing in the Chesapeake Bay and off the coast of Spain. Some of the features require some practice to master but it’s generally very intuitive and has lots of great features. I highly recommend it.

I did love this app....... NO MORE!!!. This used to be the best app. I used it because I work as a master sailing for a large commercial company and they use Transas so I am familiar with the charts etc. Seems they are getting away from pleasure craft business...... unfortunate. Guess I’ll have to revisit that upgrade I was pushing towards to get us up to full ECDIS capable aboard our vessels.... not if I have anything to do with it. I have paid a fair bit of money for the charts in the areas I run for work (to have as a backup) under the premise that they would be up to date. I WANT A REFUND!!!!!!!

Huge loss for all!. I have used and recommended this app to all my students for many years however the recent changes have destroyed my reasons to do do. I will NOT continue to support this company. A loss that could have continued to make boating safer at a reasonable cost, greed seems to have destroyed it.

2.9 stars not deserved. People rated down the app when it get from being able to buy the charts for life to subscriptions and it is fair but this app is still the best navigation app out there, by far.

What a shame. Agree with other recent reviewers that the app update requiring subscriptions is a terrible decision and sure to alienate the existing base of happy customers. Existing customers like me bought the maps with the understanding that the maps would be regularly updated. Now you are trying to charge people a similar amount PER YEAR to get the updates. Crazy. I would have been happy to pay a small nominal fee for updates on new purchased charts. You could reconsider and grandfather charts purchased prior to your new policy change. That would at least be fair to existing customers. However, i also think you need to revisit your new pricing. People will leave the app.

Ruined a good app, time to try another. I have used the app for years and it was great. Now they change the rules and want to charge for updates per folio! Most travelers have multiple folios so it is cost prohibitive. Time to try another app. Maybe SEAiq will be better and not rip-off their customers by changing the contracts with existing customers. Bye

Very disappointing change to annual subscription. I’m giving this app a 1 star rating due to the forced change from outright purchase-type to a subscription-type service. I initially paid what I thought was s premium price for a product on the justification that this was a one time payment for charts with an un-expiring update service. Now suddenly, I am required to pay annually for the same service that was already included in my initial purchase price! I can understand if they wish to do this for new customers, but to do this to the very customer base that probably contributed to the success of their business, is a very poor business decision indeed. They could have considered “grand fathering” in the existing customers. I have had no response to any of my service requests which is also suspect. There was never any difficulty in getting a response before. It’s almost as if they’re embarrassed and don’t know how to respond. Very disappointing. I’m sure most of their old customers will now be doing a fresh look at the competition.

Best nav app out there. Compared to a standard horizon chartplotter and inavx (which I used to use), iSailor is a dream. My favorite way to navigate by far! I can pan and zoom so quickly I feel that in tight nav situations it's a significant safety feature. Compare this to inavx or the chartplotter where panning and zooming are slow and cumbersome and take your attention away from operating the boat.

Your updates are hard to understand. I really liked ISailor. Gave it 4-5 * without hesitation. When we cruised from Chesapeake Bay to Lake Champlain, I couldn’t have been happier. Now I can’t figure out how to buy charts to go from the Bay to FL. & Operation is confusing to me. Help!!

I want to be paid. Wartsila listen to this! I have been using Transas Isailor since it first came out and have purchased 25 chart folios which equal about $1000USD! I have also spread the word to countless associates and friends who have themselves downloaded Isailor and purchased chart folios. All those people in turn have each told many others about how great Isailor is and then they also purchased carts and it compounds on and on and on of course! So when I do the math it looks like I have generated thousands and thousands of dollars for your program so you should be paying me not the other way around! Any business would know how valuable that word of mouth snowball effect is and now you’ve killed it!!! I would suggest you fire the guy who thought this was a good idea!!!

Subscription Service Fail. Bought a lot of charts before you switched your terms of service so you can make More profit. Sad when you don’t care about the customer that’s been loyal for years. I’ll find a different chart program THAT VALUES US.

Lost all my electronics. Lost all GPS and electronics on my last fishing trip 55 miles offshore in the gulf. No worries ,opened my isailor program and got out the old fashioned compass. Found my heading and got home safe . Thanks Guys and girls. William Csogi. On the phone with Garmin now for a new unit grrrr.

Very bad business decision!. I have enjoyed your software for the last three years, and have found it to be very reliable and easy to use. I have used your charts to voyage up and down the east coast of the U.S. and also trips to Bermuda. The charts have proven very accurate and affordable - - up until now. The decision to go “subscription based” has caught many of us by surprise. The concept of buying a chart, and then having periodic updates was very appealing, and was a major factor in my decision to use your software. To change this support policy retroactively has made for many unhappy and disappointed customers whose ranks I have now joined. I would urge you to reconsider your business decision, and come up with a plan to rectify this current situation. If nothing is done in future revisions, I will be compelled to look for alternative navigation solutions, as I am sure many other loyal customers will also.

Nope. Was a great app but they have now decided to rip off thousands of customers. I don’t mind paying a bit extra for updates but what they are charging is disgraceful! Stay away from this app now.

Capt. Rogers. Great app - which is based on paper charting, would like to see an AIS function incorporated into this app, but apart from that- just brilliant

Unwelcome fees. Purchased a year ago with free updates... Now with no advance notice has introduced quite heavy annual fees. Reason is stated to be that the hydrographic departments of the world - as one it would appear - have increased the fees for providing corrections to Wartsila. If this is true why haven’t all the other electronic chart providers upped their fees?Avoid until Wartsila see the error of their ways!

Automatic renewal & costly updates. Mmmm... not happy about the automatic paid renewal updates. It is starting to look like a scam!

iSailor. Brilliant! The only thing lacking is a lat and long grid line scale on the chart and or a search on lat and long.....maybe on the next upgrade please?

Completely ruined. Great app at first, paid for the charts but they now sneakily added in a subscription service. Complete rubbish now.

Problems. A good ap, but you must buy individual charts for the areas you wish to sail. I bought a number of Charts. However my iPad was stolen recently with my car, and when I went to reinstall these charts on my replacement iPad all the maps I had paid for we're gone from my iTunes account. They want me to buy them all again

From Transas iSailor. Dear users, Thank you for your comments. We are glad to answer your questions. However, reviews you leave in iTunes don’t stipulate opportunity to contact you directly or leave an answer to each request here. Please contact us by the email indicated in the app description on iTunes, and we will help to resolve any issues.

Brilliant. Just gets better and better. Now if i could only link it to the boats autopilot i would do away with the mega expensive Raymarine Chart plotters that are never up to date

Best value for money. Why would you pay thousands when iSailor will do almost everything a plotter does.

Used to be good app. Wartsila has dumped annual fee to update a chart that is greater than the initial purchase price of the chart! With multiple charts the $$$ figure is huge. No more isailor for me. I like to use up to date charts, there for I will be using another app!

Why pay for charts I’ve already paid for?. What do I have to pay for charts I’ve already paid for??? That’s a rip off. Was always the best app

Fantastic navigation app crashes in ios9. Fantastic navigation app been using this for a while. Maps are fantastic. New version unfortunately crashes constantly in ios9.

Crooks. I paid over $1000 for charts that they have now blocked me from using since being taken over by Wartsila. They forced me to agree a new user terms before allowing access to the app and I’ve lost access to dozens of paid for charts- they are thieves.

Townsville to Hobart. Really got value from isailor was able to plan and change routes Easy to use and sccurate I now have this on all my devices

Isailor 1.7.2. Unfortunately a great app has been hi jacked by corporate greed. Subscriptions for tides ais marinas and weather are not enough for the new owners. Under the guise of obligation to chart updates( not to be solely relied upon for navigation) are attempting to have users repurchase charts on a annual basis. A once great app representing value for money is no more. Wärtsilä would be well advised to reconsider there direction, without customers they have nothing.

Great App. This is a great app. I just sailed from Melbourne to the Gold Coast 1100NM. The accuracy and detail of the charts matched my $2500 CHart plotter. The quickness and ease of use in planning each route and distances to destination etc was brilliant, especially the ability to zoom in and out seamlessly. It should be noted that an iPad or iPhone should only be used as a backup or assistance to your trip planning and should never be used as your main GPS plotter or replace your paper charts. With this in mind I would like to commend the iSailer app for a great product with high quality charts. well one.

iSailor User. Transas iSailor is a great extension of the Navigator program. When our GPS unit had a failure near Singapore crashing our primary navigation system iSailor saved the day! It is an extremely powerful system on a pad with features not possible on full blown systems even recently. Built on one of the best navigation bases around it provides a great solution.

Unresponsive. I have tried on three occasions now to get chart updates in the area I sail in. I have. Been promised a response three time at the next update. After waiting about six months for action my patience has run out and I have demanded a refund. Time will tell whether they will pay up. I have changed over to Navionics and Imray.

Poor Management. Was a fantastic app now is absolute rubbish who ever changed it in Wartsila should be sacked. Don’t go anywhere near it. Wartsila should just scrap it after the mess they’ve made of it

Great Application. I use iSailor all the time, great Vector display on my iPad,I have stand alone Raster charts on my laptop , use Garmin as well , but always go back to iSailor, it is my prime navigator now. A great product at a very reasonable price ,easy to install including the updates.

What a disaster. We have sailed the world on this app and shouted its virtues far and wide. Now the greedy new owners can see the $$$. Going to look at alternatives as this is now a VERY expensive piece of software.

Ruined. I was happy to pay for charts but the new annual fee is a joke, i no longer have access to charts ive paid for

Unresolved problems with iSailor. I have had iSailor for a few years, both on my iPhone XS Max and my iPad. Have navigated Tasmanian waters using iSailor. Now it will no longer work on my iPhone. The chart is updated and it is installed but it gives no detail at all and I cannot navigate with it. I contacted Wartsila iSailor with the problem and just got a general reply, suggesting I check that the chart was installed etc. ( a bit like “have you tried turning your modem off and then restarting it”) No help at all. I asked for further assistance but have heard nothing back. Really lousy back up. No explanation, no assistance.

Used to be great, now a rip off. When I first installed iSailor, I bought the charts on the understanding that I got updates in perpetuity. Now iSailor is owned by Wärtsilä, it is now a complete rip-off. It is now an expensive subscription model with zero regard to its existing customers. Time to change to another supplier.

Not a full function system. Has a great deal of potential but not being able to input your own gps marks makes it a bit of a toy rather than a useful app. Not pleased that it no longer works because of an Apple o/s update either.

Loved it now I hate it. Bought lots of maps thinking they will be on my iPad for unlimited time. Now they inform me that the maps will expire after a year and wait, they will automatically update at expiry and take your money without your consent. They give you an opt out possibility, but I tried it and it hasn’t worked for me. I am outraged that a scam like this can be legally pulled off. I would suggest, stay away from this, it is the scariest thing on AppStore that i have seen so far.

Paid service now?. It was a great app and I have used it and recommended it to many people over the years. But now paying hundreds of dollars every year for a subscription? What a joke. The charts are not imo approved nor can they be used as a primary source of navigation.. but now Isailor wants to charge full rates to its consumers? Very sad that what was a good product has become so money orientated. I was happy to pay my $150+ for the charts I wanted - but to pay it annually on top of tides , wether etc. a bit too much, not to mention the $365 outlay for the ais unit I sailor recommended - give it a miss go navionics...

Simple and effective. Si

Great but work in progress. Very basic nav program with huge potential. Looking forward to updates. Not happy how the maps are divided by sydney. Already spent $25 for north side not going to fork out for south side even thou i fish at kiama. If you want to fish, go navonics. If you want to travel, go for this. Still a work in progress but all the same a great program

Basically good.. Thank you for an excellent navigational tool. I have used it offshore, on an iPad in conjunction with a Bluetooth gps, and I have found it reliable and stable. Some small improvements in EBL and tracking features would help.

Not happy. Hi guys. VERY unhappy about the new subscription charges, introduced without notice and at an annual rate of what I originally paid for the chart folios. Even worse is that my folios have a last updated date of March this year (nearly 9 months ago) and so even to update them in the next couple of months I’d have to subscribe. No chance of that. The subscription should be MUCH lower and maybe for people who have purchased under the old system $0. Can I give you minus 5-⭐️s?

Happy sailor. I found this app before I knew of navionics. I downloaded it and brought the chart for my area. It seams pricey at $25ea but was well worth it as re area it covers was huge! It's faster to find positions than navionics and I find it much easier to use. At first it I challenging to work out what the buttons all do but I use this as my main nav system now. I have paper charts but this is so Tallis compared. Only thing that would make this app amazing would be an AIS overlay like ship finder etc Very happy buyer

Wartsila RIP OFF. iSailor was a great navigation software .... Now bought out by Warsila and turned into an annual subscription fee RIP OFF... Very sad, I will no longer use this software Buyer beware .... don’t update to this version

Great!. I have found the latest version of this App very useful both on the iPad and iPhone. I tried a trial of myMap but it was not user friendly. Well done,

Great product. As a professional delivery skipper, I have downloaded and used numerous navigation apps. I have found the latest version of isailor to be the most user friendly, accurate and useful compared to the others. I very much enjoy using it. Might suggest some more statistics to be included when tracking a passage such as top speed (& when) average speed over various time frames etc

iSailor is so easy to use. Packed full of handy features I don't go sailing without now. We even recently completed a sailing trip from Noosa, Qld, Australia to Bali, Indonesia. Trip planning and maintenance was easy with this powerful little program. I can highly recommend it. Safe water sports.

Same Here Will not use. What a sneaky bunch. Goes from great app to zero stars. Have deleted from my ipad. Will look for another chart app.

DO NOT BUY! Was up there but no longer supported!. I have been using isailor for years now. It certainly improved brilliantly over time when owned by Transas. Features & layout are good, although inserting waypoints, & particularly building routes are incredibly fiddly if not tiresome. I love Transas map layouts, but am dissatisfied by the "extra" features & costs being charged. Since the “takeover” by Wartsila, they have not made ONE update to this app & it is falling behind the times compared with features now standard (& FREE) with the competition. They evidently are no longer servicing this app so STAY AWAY!!!

Isailor Transas. Use this programm more than 1 year. Very usefull and accured! Have some bugs with AIS connection. Use for Pilotage and coastal runs.

Update Crash Workaround. I have not been able to get this app to work recently due to latest update. 😕😧 I have used it for several years & found it to be very accurate and intuitive & hope that this bug gets fixed soon! Got it working by deleting it from my iPad & reinstalling. This means you also have to reinstall any purchased maps. Hopefully I will be able to recover my saved routes when I hook up with iTunes on my PC. not a huge drama if I have lost them but make sure you have a backup if yours are precious😉 If I had not had this glitch I would give this app a 5 star rating. It is a great app👍

Wont go fishing without it. Loved it, then the update came out and had to wait a week to reload my charts. Works fine now but with some annoying instances where adjoining charts don't match up properly. Otherwise, excellent for out in the bays in my tinnie

Scam. Used to be a very good app before Wartsila bought it out. Now charging subscription for upgrades that they don't do. I recently found a low bridge that had been built 3 years earlier & it wasn't on the chart. They don't reply to their FB page or give any support.

No longer will I recommend this product. I was happy to buy the charts but now you have to pay for upgrades. I use the iPad as a secondary tool for navigation because it was easy to move it around. Previously upgrades were free and came out sometimes twice a year. You are clearly advised to not rely on these charts but they are now charging you expensive upgrades. Leave this programme alone. A great programme that has been destroyed by money hungry entrepreneurs.

This is a SCAM!. I purchased the app and i have had a lot of issues with it and i can not get any support at all. I have sent a number of emails and still have had only 1 reply in 2 weeks. So I know they are getting the emails... I have since purchased something else as I couldn’t wait for this long for the support. This is a SCAM APP that doesn’t work properly!!! Do NOT purchase it!!!

scam at its best. used to be the best chart app that I recommended to friends, despite expensive rates for charts, which supposed to last forever. With new subscription fee even charged for previous already paid maps, it’s like a scam company default on their previously signed contract, and never know what it’s going to do in future, your App will back fire ! Well understood, developer trying to cash out and get best valuation with subscription fee revenue, a supposed steady income for investors .... but wait a minute, your active users are dropping out, not even paying for your exisiting maps! developer should consider loyalty of your early customers! Think again and rectify soon before your App is for ever deleted !!

No charts. Difficult to download charts compared to other Nav apps, been through the faqs on the developer site, still won't download. Easy to download free charts but not paid charts. This app really shouldn't be here as it has major bugs. Could do alot better. I've Paid for something I can't use. Stick with Navionics.

Rubbish. You cannot add or import waypoints with this app. They do not say that in the sales blurb. You can add waypoints by tapping the screen but cannot add a waypoint based on a set of coordinates. This is really basic stuff for a "Navigator". If basic waypoint functionality is important to you, get someting else.

A rort at best!. Why is this App still in the store? Is there no checks and balances here? Lift your game “store” this App has been abandoned by Wartsila for years and needs to be removed!

Mr gpk. Well I am happy to report my issue with I Sailor was fixed to my entire Satisfaction, it was completed very Professionally, very impressed. GPK.....this issue is now ceased....Well I've tried for many hours to update i Sailor and it gets to a certain stage and the little wheel keeps spinning around, but nothing happens, can't use the product, sent an email, received a reply saying " too bad so sad but its busy all around the world, try again in 24 hours, this is terrible service" not happy Jan......

Impressive, but where are the charts I paid for?. I like the way the app functions, but I purchased a map and the app gives me an error message when I try to download. The company website is also down and not loading either. Refund what can't be delivered upon!!!!!

Waste of money. Since the latest upgrade, all intuitive function for course plotting has been lost. This is garbage.

The old version was much better. I was using the previous version and it was great. It was easy use and very user friendly. The new version was downloaded over top of the program I bought and it is simply pitiful. Don't waste your money if the new version is the only one available. Normally I really like it when programs are updated, but in this case, if it ain't broke, don't fix it

5+. Great app!

Waterway robbery. Biggest ripoff on the App Store. $25-$40 per region?? Ridiculous. The sloppy UI elements don't exactly lend confidence either.

Isailor. To get charts is so painful ! I would not wast my time on this app ! To painful to use !

I've become disappointed. Still no magnetic compass!!!!!!!!!!!! In the past I've rated this a 5 star. With the new updates I've downgraded it. My primary concerns are: - only allows true compass, all chart plotters and many apps allow magnetic. I've been requesting this for two years. - suffering from feature bloat - putting in many new features while allowing the usability to become more complicated and less intuitive.

Transas iSailor. great app with high potential! keep up an excellent work!

Better than you think. I am a part time sailor and I enjoy sailing as much as I enjoy navigation planning, exploration and reporting. I am very impress by the capacity of this inexpensive app to fulfil all of my three needs in navigation. Easy to use and up to international standards, iSail is helping me enjoying navigation without spending to much time with rulers and pencils. I recommend it to everyone!

Wrong map. I purchased what I had thought was a chart for small boats but it does not show the buoys to navigate near the shore and is of no use to me. I have asked for a refund and will keep you posted on the customer service I receive.

ISailor app. As a professional Mariner, I use professional Transas since the early version of the nineties. Fully trained and certified by Transas Marine. I enjoy this app a great deal, I have a respectable number of chart folios, which I use even in commercial shipping. the only function is missing from this app, is the search engine option for quick access to ports location and information.

Génial enfin au Canada. Super précis !!!!

Isailor vs Inavx. This is an awesome app for navigation easy to use totally scalable, far superior to the cartoon like mapping of Inavx . All features are smooth easy to read. To be sure I purchased downloaded and tested Inavx , yes it has a nice instrument heading speed etc. but the isailor , usability andthe money, ease of downloading maps is the best!

Voleur!!!!!. Je veut etre rembourser!!!!!!!!!!

Pas fait pour un iPad. Avec le iPhone numéro 1 Met avec le iPad il n'arrive même pas a me donner ma bonne position.. Exemple il ne me localise meme pas dans l'eau

Great app. Very pleased with this product. Charts are accurate and work wonderfully on my iPad. I have stopped using my old system and switched to this as my primary due to it's ease and compactness.

Gouging App. Like many I purchased this App choosing to pay a higher up front price and then receive free updates. Along come the new gouging owners who belive they have a captive audience and can “rip them off at will”. So I along with many more will be dumping iSailor. My biggest regret is that i recommended the app to several colleagues. I wouldn't recommend this app, even if the gouging policy is reversed.

Great App. Our regular chart plotter died on day 2 of our 3 week boating vacation on the West Coast of BC. We found and downloaded this app with the appropriate charts and were very pleased. Since we were travelling to unfamiliar destinations, this app worked great in plotting courses, recording tracks, and even estimating travel times and fuel consumption. Now that they have added some anchor alarms etc. it is even better. We paid well over a $100 for the same charts for our chart plotter so these charts are actually economical. You definitely need this at least as a back up. Worked great on the iPad and I understand that once you buy the charts you can use them on all of your devices. Side note, West Coast charts were restricted from downloading over cellular network directly to iphone due to their large size so we connected iPad to iPhone4 thru hotspot and downloaded it to iPad over "wifi". Worked great, downloaded in a just a few minutes and we were back on the go! This is my first recommended app.

Not worth it. To see chart details you have to zoom in to less than a nautical mile. Ais doesn't work unless you deal with all this iCloud crap. Super expensive. Just crap.

Terrible charts. This app has some potential but the fact that the creators are charging 25 bucks for charts that are less than half complete is disgusting. I don't know what the cheaper charts look like but I cant see it being any worse. In this state this app is completely useless.

Great charts and app for mobile devices hone. This app is great and n Europe Asia and North American waters Charts costs are reasonable and can be used indefinitely Updates are available, however for many areas they are optional depending on your requirements Great value and good to have at least two completely stand alone charting systems and software in this age of denial of service attacks on companies and individuals.

If you have this app and have purchased charts please rate and review. If you have purchased charts please rate and review this app I am too chicken to spend the $24 on the charts without knowing if it's good or not.

Not working ios 5.1. App not loading on ios 5.1 on ipad 2

I Sailor. Outstanding app. Very accurate, very usefull. I highly recommend this app.

Rip off. Not a very good app. Give it a miss.

Non intuitive. Looks promising but very non intuitive. You need a manual every time to figure it out. You'll be on the rocks while you fuss with it.

Restauration impossible des cartes achetées. Nouveau iPhone 14, impossible de me connecter à mon compte. Pas de lien avec mes achats antérieurs. Application inutilisable.

Poor app. The free maps are looking good, but after paying 24.99 for one set map's it's not what it should be I give it a one out ten.

Mr.. Only so-so on this app. Not very intuitive. Hard to remember after a period of non-use. User Manual is bulky, complex, slow to read, difficult to understand. When sailing it takes too long to reference. By the time you find what you are looking for you are either on the rocks or the danger has passed.

Isailor not reliable. My purpose for purchasing this app was to have an added security and reliability. It did not work when I needed it the most...I am very disappointed...I spent much time, hours trying to get it to work...deleted, reloaded the app, tried with other iPads, nothing, all that energy spent with no results. :(

Charts missing. I bought this as a backup nav system to track a voyage across the gulf of St. Lawrence. I bought a map pack for $25 that was missing critical areas along the coast of Newfoundland. When they updated the map packs into smaller areas I lost access to the maps I already paid for. While this is great when it works I would save your money because the charts you buy today probably will not be on your app tomorrow.

Pretty good. A bit of lag on updating AIS targets and would be nice if when zooming in on AIS targets the actual ship icon with actual dimensions was displayed. Other than that it all works quite well.

Transfèrer des cartes. Est ce que je peux transfèrer mes cartes achetées vers mon cellphone Samsung.

Missing key features. This is a very powerful program restricted a lot by its lack of features. The iPad renders the vectorial charts extremely fast and it's a great reference tool, however the features and functions that you actually need for navigations are very basic, for the weekend warrior it might do but for a professional mariner it doesn't cut it. You need to include cables to short distance measurement, AIS overlay, better route and waypoint management, better tools for EBL and VRM, exportation and importations of user editable data.

Do NOT Buy!. It does not work on iPhone X. I downloaded the app and purchased the chart I need. (Pricey!) All I get on my screen is a grey background with a squiggly line. (I guess it’s a river - but it doesn’t say so.) No geographical references. Nothing to say where it is. No nautical references, channel markers, etc. The online manual doesn’t help. It’s five years old - Version 1.5.4 (There’s no way of telling which version is on my phone.) The screen shots from the manual look nothing like what’s on my phone. I’ve written Transas iSailor support - twice - 10 days apart. All I got in return was a “Ticket Number” - but no support. SAVE your money. It doesn’t work and you won’t get any support from TRANSAS iSailor.

Radlosavagen. Don't buy! Not reliable supplier I bought several chart package for isailor apps because the regular free updates were included. Without notice, they have changed the game of the rules without considering and honoring their original commitments. Also the updates are ridiculous too pricy. I recommend not to buy isailor product.

Phenomenal. The best app I have used for iOS, so intuitive! Charts are very good and the value compared to a dedicated chart plotter is undeniable!

Handy app to take with you on the water. I use this app every time I'm on the water. It has many interesting and helpful features, such as heading, speed, distance calculations. I am able to plot courses on my computer and import them into this app. One thing I would change is to allow the app to rotate around from portrait to landscape if I turn my iPhone sideways. Excellent app otherwise!

Impressive App for the price. I’m not certain why I made the leap of faith and purchased iSailor over the competition, but I’m glad I did. I bought it just as the 1.6 update was released. I’m tech savvy, but in the realm of marine navigation, I’ve only used paper charts prior to getting iSailor. I’ll make a quick summary - I took a sail from Long Beach to Catalina and back last weekend. Simple trip, and we had iSailor on my iPad and iPhone, and my buddy had iNavX on his. I liked both apps, but iSailor was both faster and more intuitive in every way. Making a route, entering waypoints on the fly, making changes - all were simpler and more intuitively executed on iSailor. I can’t praise it’s interface enough. Improvements, in my opinion, would be the following: 1) Have both Raster and Vector charts available to swap between. 2) Having an aviation background (using Garmin), I appreciate having a dedicated DirectTo button at all times. Hit it, drop a waypoint, and you can get a quick course line to that new waypoint, without disturbing the route you created. It can be done currently, but not very smooth. 3) Have the ability to show multiple routes at once. 4) ActiveCaptain and Weather/wind overlays. Great job to Transas. I have a feeling this app will be gaining a lot of popularity in the future. To readers - I have absolutely no affiliation with the company. This is possibly my first review of an app in 3 years.

Good for the price. I haven't actually been out on the water with this app yet, but I bought the chart for my area (San Juan Islands/Puget Sound). It appears very accurate, but it would be REALLY nice to have an option in the settings to reduce some of the text/info layering. I'm a fisherman, and I'd really like to be able to see the bottom contour better; the lines are there, but the overwhelming amount of depth numbers and other data makes it hard to see the lines. If this option were added, I think it would be a 5 star.

Such a money savor. At the time that I heard about iSailor I was in the market for a garmin GPS unit and after downloading it and paying 5 bucks for the Chesapeake bay map I couldn't be happier with it. I mount my iPhone on my boat and have everything I need to drive the boat at night and stay in the channel and find the next buoy when moving from one area to Another.I use my maps app together with the iSailor app at first to put a waypoint where all the bars and my point of interests are. After that it was easy. Try this app and buy your local map before spending money on a GPS. For me the 5 dollar expenditure was all that was necessary.

Engineer. Update 1.7.1 works very good on my iphone 5c. with iOS 8.1 Was easy to load and does a nice job. Does Not Work. I did not think another review could be true that iSailor 1.7 would not run in iOS 8.1. I downloaded the APP and one map area (USA Pacific WA) for $5. Everything loaded OK. The APP wants to run but will not display a map. It only displays a gray screen with the scale of miles at "1 ft" for about 1/2 inch of screen. The GPS is alive and tells COG,SOG if I walk around. Ant the lower menu also pops up where all the settings are. After 4 hrs of tinkering and reading I gave up asnd sent an email inquiry to Support. Sure hope I get it to work as the APP seems to have potential.

Excellent Charting App. Used this on multiple day trips in Boston area, and found it to be very useful. The detailed information on the various marks, the ability to set waypoints, and store tracks all work really well. Map updates are flagged to you so it is easy to maintain the latest versions of maps. The user interface takes some getting used to, but the online manual helps to understand how to make the short/long taps and icon dragging work for you.

Pretty good - but a little short on info. We use it in the Georgian Bay area, in and around Parry Sound. Unfortunately it doesn't list some of the buoy markers that are on the small boat charts and covered by their competitors. I spoke with the company and they indicated that improvements were coming. There is also an issue with mapping alignment when you zoom in and out; part of the screen shows one view and the adjacent area a different one. But still four stars, it's pretty good and at the price it's a bargain ($4.99 for the Great Lakes).

Bait and Switch. Terrible change in business model. I have advocated this product to 100s of people. No more.

Crazy price increases. Isailor just increased the yearly subscription to Bahamas charts from $7 to $ 99 per year. I’m out.

Purchased charts are incomplete. Purchased a chart for eastern seaboard which is suppose to include CT waters but it doesn’t include fishers island sound and little Narragansett bay which is a HUGE omission. Don’t waste your money.

Sucker on my forehead. You guys are completed clowns if you really think I’m going to pay for corrections which I never had to pay for in the past. I’m done using this app.

Charts are not free. I tried iSailor but found OpenCPN to still have better functionality and does not charge subscription for charts. I sail all around the world and subscription cost for many areas add up to be prohibitive.

Rif off by Wartsila switch to SEAiq. As soon as Wartsila bought Transas they decided to migrate from iSailor to Wartsila Sailor and the rip off subscription service. Just deleted the app and will be using SEAiq USA where the digital nautical charts are free from NOAA.

Rip Off. $25 annually for an app that hasn’t been updated in almost FOUR years. Talk about hubris! Note to Wärtsilä - - your app is not intuitive and out-of-date. I was a fool to renew. P. T. Barnum was right.

Does what we need and does it well.. We bought iSailor for my iPhone and iPad instead of a back-up stand-alone GPS system for a Mediterranean sailing trip. I’ve never used their competitor, but for about 1/20 the price, I got all the functionality I needed. Aside from using the boat’s built-in GPS system for the auto-pilot, we used iSailor all the time. It was easier, had more features, and was more accurate. And, as a bonus, for just a few dollars more I can add charts from just about anywhere I would ever need. The charts have been accurate and up-to-date. Aside from a few hitches during updates, we have been completely satisfied.

Accurate and great value. Used this (iPad) app on Chesapeake Bay and I found it was pretty accurate - all markers and bouys were exactly where they were on the map and GPS/Track recording worked well. The way points were satisfactory. I had to pay $5 for the chart download but it was well worth it. This app rivaled some of the several hundred dollar GPS units available. Now I just need a decent mount for my iPad in the boat.

Very Disappointing Subscription Model.. Used to like the App. Not anymore. A lot of legalese to hide the provision of less service. Ratings show more dissatisfaction among remaining users.

A very very good app. I have been using this app for the past year and this is proves to be a fantastic addition to my phone. I use this with the iPhone 6 Plus and it works anywhere in the Gulf of Mexico and offshore. The 6+ has its own built-in GPS so it will work anywhere in the world for that matter. charts are cheap, the weather program works well as does AIS. Just bear in mind to receive weather and AIS information one has to have an Internet connection.

Excellent Product. I have worked with many navigation programs, both marine and aviation. iSailor is an incredible value. The user interface is one of the best I have encountered and I speak as someone that recently retired from an software design career where I was often hired to assist with improving the user interface design of technical products. One such product was an aviation flight planner. The documentation has answered all my questions and I have not had any problems running on 08. The manual covers how to restore the app and in-app purchases which is more of an Apple function anyway so the negative review on that seems unwarranted. It is going with me on a 10 day bareboat charter next January.

Good app but charts are off. I've been using this app for the last month now I love the UI and the functionality. I use it for rec and fishing charts on iPad Air 2 in miami. Still wish it had a few more features but that anchor alarm is perfect I love to see a real sharp graphic of where I drift. Beats my gps for a millionth of the cost. But chart depths seem to be off from my other charts and avg readings. I boat in the bay a lot avg 5 to 12 ft deep but chart avg 1 to 6 ft. I guess that is better then the other way around. Just worries me sometimes in new areas when it states 0ft when I'm in 4 ft.i wonder if it's based on a deeper keel as I drive a 23 hydra sport and not a sailboat. If so would be nice in boat settings to be able to adjust that to reflect on charts .

This app COULD be a great alternative to Navionics. But isn't just yet, at least if you plan to use it around Chicago. the charts zoom unevenly, and you only get an even view between Navy Pier and Montrose if you zoom all the way in or all the way out to the point Belmont harbor doesn't show at all. I really like the interface and the speed of this app. However at this point I am not using it until an update is released. I'd give it 5* in a heartbeat if this issue gets resolved. Is there anyone out there having this same issue?

Got my money once but not more. Very disappointed that I can not update charts that I already paid for. This was a very bad business decision on your part. Bye.

Very pleased but room to grow. This is my first of what I hope will be multiple views of this application. So far, I have used it on my iPad (3rd generation) only and I am most pleased. For the most part, it is very intuitive with a cleanly laid out interface which maximizes screen real estate for charting. I have a fairly deep keel sailboat and was eager to compare the quality of chart data (details, clarity, etc) to paper charts and my local knowledge of obstructions and markers. Based on my testing so far, I would say detail (even in very small coves and creeks) is fantastic - exceeding my expectations. Recording of routes works very well and, as one would expect, these can be displayed or hidden from view as desired. I hope the application will continue to improve with subsequent and regular updates. Suggestions for future version include: 1) addition of a legend of chart symbols (or browsable table showing these). 2) option to show speed units in mph (since the app offers km/h already in addition to the standard nm/hr) and 3) an easier way to delete user defined waypoints (I assume this is possible but have not figured out how. It is the one exception to my 'intuitive' comment. ) Price was right. I was able to buy data for entire Chesapeake Bay for $5 USD. I just wasn't ready to shell out $50 for a competing application. Fair winds and following seas!

Very good app and charts. The only app I could find in the store with detailed charts of Hong Kong, so obv a major plus for that. I love the usability of the interface, they have a very good guide to get you going and then from there you can get the hang of it pretty easy. As other reviewer stated, I would like auto routing as manually doing it can be pretty tedious. That said, you can copy routes and adjust from those, plus a lot of nav apps don't do auto routing well because of depth and other restrictions fouling it up. The charts are outstanding, the level of detail and quality of information is top notch. I actually like this app better than my Garmin hardware chartplotter that I use on a different vessel and this app was a fraction of the price. Don't be deterred by the negative reviews on here. I think the developer got it right in terms of offering balance between features you may or may not need.

Another disappointed user. Just adding my name to the list. I loved ISailor and turned many people on to it. I mourn the loss. But as one reviewer noted it's not only a terrible business decision, it's breach of contract. I bought my chart folios at the price they were then selling for with free updates. You can't just say "we changed our minds"... they could have made the subscription plan starting with new purchasers, they could have offered me back what I paid for any folio I don't want to pay annually for... not only is it a shame to lose such a great app but to watch them killing thee app... how many people would pay that much every year???

Charts updates?. Why no more charts update?

New internet AIS. I recently paid the $16+ for the internet AIS, what a waste of $. I work and play on the water in Corpus Christi TX. the 5th busiest port in the US as well as home to thousands of pleasure boats. It comes in intermittently and when it does pick up a target it is at least 30 min. behind. I also use the Marine Traffic AIS app and while it has a 1-5 min lag it always shows all the AIS equipped traffic. Just wish that ISailor had picked this group to merge with. I contacted both ISailor and Pocket about this and they offered to help ME set up a receiver/transmitter to improve there service. Don't know how you could check to see if it will work good in your area before you spend the $ but it's hard to get it back if your unhappy.

Great app. I don't often write reviews, but this is a really nice nav app. Easily out-features our standalone Garmin GPS that cost hundreds. The charts update frequently. I love being able to track and export routes (though an option for iCloud sync between multiple devices would be really nice). I paid for the marina data and it is fine (cheap enough that it is worth it, but could have more robust data and a feature to sort by distance). I have not paid for any of the other add-ins, but I may as I use it more. Whenever I get a new boat, I think that iSailor running on an iPad in a waterproof case will replace my single purpose GPS.

Update: They changed the rules and screwed over their existing customers! Goodbye!. I’m changing my rating to one star because they suddenly, without warning, switched to a subscription fee model. This was after I had purchased hundreds of dollars worth of charts in reliance on a model that allowed me to regularly update any chart that I had purchased without paying an additional fee. They then retroactively decided that my “subscriptions” to these HUNDREDS of dollars worth of charts expired last March! I could understand if they needed to charge an additional fee to cover the administrative cost of updating the charts, but that would be only a relatively small cost per user. Instead, their new fees are way over the top, and are clearly intended to become a new profit center for the company. I’m sure that the app will continue to work well. But now there is absolutely no basis to use anything other than Navionics, which is the “gold” standard for the sailing industry. My original review is below: ——————————————- I have used this app everywhere, from Biscayne Bay, to the Adriatic, to the middle of the Caribbean. It can get a bit cluttered, but overall it’s great for basic route planning and tracking, and generally pretty intuitive to use. When sailing a thousand-mile passage in the Caribbean, it was great to be able to pull my iPhone out of my pocket at any time, day or night, and see our heading, COG, speed, and distance to waypoint. But... I recently bought the tides and tidal currents plug-in, in order to plan a voyage in the Pacific Northwest. The currents really rip, up there, so it’s critical to have down-to-the-minute accuracy on tides. To ensure accuracy, I compared times in the app with times on the Canadian government’s official tide tables, and found that the times were waaaay off. They weren’t event close. I soon realized that I needed to set the time zone in the iPad (I’m on the East Coast) to the time zone where I was planning my voyage (British Columbia). After doing that, and adjusting the Canadian tide tables for daylight savings time, the times were much closer. But close won’t count when crossing Seymour Narrows.

Very disappointed.. Météo I paid for that. Does not work.

Shady shady shady. Purchased charts are no longer updated. Please refund my money

So disappointed!. The new update policy to charge a subscription is wrong-headed, you are making a big mistake!

Great app for novice boater!. I've been using this app for 2.5 years and it has worked flawlessly. The charts are frequently updated and have never steered me wrong. The app has been very reliable, and, although it's not supposed to be used as a sole navigational tool, it has helped me get out of more tricky jams than I care to admit. I use it to navigate the ICWW and various channels to access the Atlantic. I've not gone "out to sea" with it, but I can highly recommend the app for anyone looking for a near-shore navigational augment.

Wonderful app that has more than paid for itself!. I have been using iSailor for about a year now. My family just completed a 10 day trip from Hampton, VA to Washington, D.C. and back with zero issues from iSailor. I use the software on our ipad and iphone. One of my favorite features is the anchor watch. One night at anchor it was gusting to 40 knots. I plugged in my iphone set the anchor alarm and placed it next to my head. Slept without a worry. Back in November I was with a friend bringing back his latest purchase an early 80s Catalina. We ran aground because he never bothered to check when the chart plotter maps had been updated. Turns out they were 8 years old. I should have had iSailor out on my ipad but I didn't. When I did pull the ipad out iSailor was accurate, we had run right into a shoal. We used iSailor the rest of the trip without incident. Wonderful app that I trust and will continue to use.

Some bumps, but they will smooth them out.... I've been a user of iSailor since the beginning. The new version has some user interface tweaks that are promising, once you get used to them. However, there are a few bugs, especially in that I cannot get the electronic range and bearing line to work. Since this is a major feature, and much needed, it's a bummer that it doesn't work. I'm sure they'll fix it quickly, though, since they've been pretty good about fixing bugs in the past. Data entry for waypoints is now easier, and I like that the interface feels less cluttered. Still far cleaner looking than the other chartplotter apps.

$5 dollar app saves 4 lives and a 120K+ boat. This app may or may not have saved our lives, but it definitely paid for itself. We were three days into a trip from Myrtle Beach, SC to Norfolk, VA on a 3880 Regal Commodore we just bought when our GPS went out and this app really paid off. We ran out of gas on the North River at channel marker 165 on the ICW heading north 13 miles south of Coinjock, NC. We were on the hook for hours waiting for the angels from TowBoatUS to arrive with our 30 gallons of gas. By the time they arrived to help it had been dark for hours. During our two hour transit to port, this app saved our boat. It was dead accurate to the channel marker. It kept us on course and safe. With over 40 years of boating experience between everyone on board it proved to me how the most experienced boaters can make mistakes, and for a few dollars you can have a redundant back up system that is very reliable.

Excellent App. Use it all the time at work.

Excellent!. For me personally, this is the best marine navigation app I've tried, with basic features that were hard to get from other apps, the best one being the ability to display coordinates when activating the crosshairs, AND having the coordinates change as you move the crosshairs around on the map. This comes in handy when on a rocking sea and it's hard to type coordinates in. Maps are very detailed and high resolution. I love it!

Loyal Customer no more. Customer for years, good ap good value but no more. Please reconsider....all my map payments gone? Send all my hard earned cash back, total extortion.

New Changes. There is no reason we should have to pay outrageous amounts of money for a subscription services. This is a total money grab. This company is going downhill and fast.

Great app!. This app is awesome and well worth the price but it needs some improvements. I give it a 4/5 only because it does not give you the ability to change the color of the route and it is easily confused with heading line. Also, a few other minor details, it doesn't give you the option to reverse the route, can't display your current heading and bearing to waypoint on the same screen, and doesn't give you distance off the track. Regardless still a great app but an update for these issues would make it perfect.

No support. Not sure they are still in business. No updates in years and the support site doesn’t work.

Business model. It’s hard to believe the app materially changed it pricing model for existing customers.

Not Impressed so far. We purchased this application since it suppose to work well with our Vesper 8000 AIS we just purchased before we head to the Bahamas for the winter. We purchased the maps for the Bahamas also with the apps and there are areas that we cruise in the Exumas that are blank...no data just note (Dredging 2 meters)....these are area we sail through and use the Garmin Blue Water and Explorer Chartbooks to navigate...so seeing this blank area on the apps made me wonder if there were anymore out there. I contacted the APP maker and they validated the omission and said it would be corrected in the next release but no specific date when that would be. So overall....I guess it's a decent apps but recommend you have backup valid charts or applications.

Great for the price!. It's missing a few features that i I would think would be easy to add i.e. it would be nice to add waypoints to a new route using existing saved waypoints...you need to create every route from scratch using new waypoints. Also would be nice to be able to click on a map symbol, waypoint, etc and be able to see what it is and info about it. BUT, I guess if you pay $1200 for a chartplotter you can expect those things - for $4.99 this is better than my older Raymarine that cost over $1000 in its day. Easy to use!

Inexpensive GPS chart plotter. I don't understand the negative reviews. The app is free and the digital charts are very reasonably priced, especially since the Navionics Hot Map for my Lowrance chart plotter cost me $135, at least for the NY Finger Lakes where I do my boating. The app runs smoothly and has all the features that would be needed for inland waters. I wouldn't try a TRANSPAC with just this app, but c'mon be reasonable! Good way to get started with electronic navigation. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the small screen on my iPhone 6 is a bit limiting

Bummer 2. Paying for updates now and buying the same charts again? Keep your updates. Time to find something more competitive.

New Charges!?. Being charged for updates on purchased maps is ridiculous!

Perfect Nav Solution!. The best navigation software available for portable devises. Profession Yacht Captain here and go nowhere without ISailor and my Dual XGPS.

Greedy move.... Sorry, but your update to force users into a subscription model is just plain greedy and wrongheaded. Shame on you guys...

Very good. Very good porgram
