Updated. Updated the app...still asks every single time if I want to update. Send a fix.

Needs update?. Tells me I need to update every time I open the app on my tablet. It is already updated. Really annoying.

Great news app for Hampton roads. Don't know why folks complain about so called crashes. Just update every now and then or reinstall if it hangs up on you. The stories are well written and current and the format is easy to use. Thanks Daily Press!

Prompt for upgrade that’s already installed.. Still get prompted to install v5.6.0 about every other time I open the app, probably 50 times now. 5.6.0 is already installed and has been for 2 months.

Poor customer service and lousy app. This paper has gotten so expensive I was forced to move to the app and go online. But, now the app is so poor and buggy, and the offshore customer service is polite, but horrible, I don’t know what we’ll do. I have ALWAYS subscribed to the local paper my whole life, I hate to quit now, but I also hate paying for something I can’t use. In addition, even when the app works, about a year ago, the current day’s edition of the paper started to not load until 5am, it used to be available at 4am, when I have to be up for work. 5 am only gives me a few minutes to read whole paper. Please, fix app and update paper by 4am or you’ll lose another longtime subscriber. It will be my lose too, I’m sad that local papers are dying!

Terrible. Paid for subscription twice and stills says I need to pay. No help from customer support.

No Update Even Available!. Every time I open the app, it says I need to update, but there hasn’t been an actual update in 2 months. Annoying enough that I rarely open the app anymore.

Digital Access a problem. I've noticed an increase in the number of stories requiring digital access account. Not necessarily a problem but I've also noticed that many of the stories requiring digital access account are free on the web. Why must I pay for content that is free on the web???

Pay out the nose. What happens when local papers are bought up by large northern conglomerate? Let's see, they moved the printing out of Newport News,they print it miles from here, the building is for sale, guess the staff works from home? Who knows? Ink, building, paper, expensive press, distribution cost for hard copy gone, cost all gone, but the price of the E version sky high? The hard copy paper's reporting seems to have gone down the toilet too, now own by large way up north company. I dislike the font, the text of the hard copy. But, unless you like over paying, you can't read much of anything without doing so, skip this app. The local paper seems to have just a token amount of local news, the city government reporting lacking, why am I reading this? I'm not anymore.

Doesn't open. Downloaded & removed. Will not open

Crashes ALL THE TIME !!!. Crashes when you try to share a story... Antiquated UI

Says update Every time. This is the most annoying update. Without fail every time I open the app AND change articles it says Update the app. FIX this please!!

Violence Violence Violence. The app is lovely but the paper only covers violence. It's all deaths and killings. They even look for national death stories to draw attention. It's sick.

Crash!. Worked well for a while but now can't open- it just crashes!

Format. I would love to read the paper in the printed format and not just one article at a time.

Useless. Can’t read news unless you subscribe. Don’t waste your time with this garbage app

Horrible. Can't read any of the articles unless you pay and how sad that you now have to pay to see the obituaries.

Hard to find. Where's op Ed editorial etc search yields naught.

Update. Will someone please fix this app! Every time I start it the app says an update is available, even though I have the latest version.

App as bad as their reporting. Soooooo with the latest update, I have 10 free credits a month to view "premium" stories. Trouble is, the app no longer tells you which is premium & which is not prior to selecting it. Once you realize it is premium, it's too late, you've spent your credit. I, like so many others, WILL NOT pay a subscription to your company to read your poor, liberally biased trash. I'm doing what I should've done long ago, get my news from somewhere else...

Excellent timely well written articles. Daily Press gives important, local and national articles; well written, accurate, full of important and vital information. The article regarding the Coast Guard is informative, vital to this area, and well written. It discusses the problems and concerns with the ongoing measures to work around those and reassures that the Coast Guard will continue to play the important part it has in this region.

Can not use all features with subscription. I am highly annoyed with this app. I have called customer support and they weren’t any help. I pay for a monthly digitally subscription and when I try to access the eNewspaper daily it asks me to pay for a subscription. This is a problem and I have continuously tried to get it fix and the representatives have not been any help. I will unsubscribe. I really wish they would fix this because I have no other issues. However, if I pay for something I expect it to function properly or at minimum have the company take my concerns seriously.

tremendously improved. The new version of the app is so, so much better. Like night and day. The old app was annoying and not user friendly. But you nailed this one. Thanks!!

Buggy. Since the last update I can not open any of the stories. It tries, but the wheel spins and no result is delivered. In addition, it will periodically tell me I have reached my max free articles for the month, even though I have a subscription. The process to restore is not difficult, just inconvenient.

Still Kludgy. They keep sending updates and the problems continue. About page 12 on an iPhone, stories stop opening. You have to open and close the app several times before the problem resolves. Plus, I understand why the print edition has reduced the use of color. Color is expensive. There is no cost in using color in the digital edition so why not? Pay more for less.

Sign of the times. My subscription to the hard copy became outrageously expensive so the partial delivery option with digital access was a result of costs. However, I am finding the digital version keeps me from going out on wet and dreary days to get the hard copy and it is the same news. I also do not have to sort through tons of ADs that I normally just recycle anyways; I get my favorite merchants coupons electronically. I am having difficulty getting the email link daily (called CS twice) but I have the app on my dashboard so it is not a big deal. Easy to use but occasionally some of the articles must be expanded to get the clarity of print. If costs go up I will probably just get news from other digital sources as this has shown me I can change an old habit.

App won’t open. Every time I try to use this app, all I get is the Daily Press screen and it stays on that screen for 30 seconds or so then closes without opening to get a menu or anything. Needs fixed!!!

Review ordered paper, cannot get online. No local news

I can’t get a paper on line while I’m in Cancun to see who died today.. Now you won’t let me send the review, why???

Vision impaired. When full screen is shown it is not easy to see any one article to select it. When a single article is selected it can be made larger.

Why?. I'm unsure why I'm paying for access to the app and it's asking me to pay again for exclusive content. I just deleted it and will cancel my app subscription.

Daily Press app. Lousy app! Can't find anything anymore.

Great App. Easy to access and beautiful layout.

Caution: No Landscape Mode. I have been a Daily Press subscriber for over 20 years. First, they made the physical paper too expensive. Fine, I’ll go digital. Now they remove landscape orientation, on an iPad!! It is obvious that you don’t want me as a customer any longer!

Crashes Continuously. Was working - now useless...

Need Peninsula News. The Daily Press used to have stories about the Peninsula, but since they’ve merged with the Pilot and been bought out by a hedge fund, that has fired many people including reporters, they have very few stories about Peninsula News. The front page usually is mostly Southside based stories. I’m afraid after reading the Times Herald, then the Daily Press since 1971, I’m going to have to stop reading this paper and rely on local and national tv and online sources for my news.

Daily Press. Liked the old format better than this version. It really was more user friendly. Maybe the reason you don't have many reviews is because folks figure why bother, you aren't going to revert the site back to the previous way

Good news, Good app. This is a nice and easy app for reading my local paper. Very clear, crisp images and text. Fast indexing and ability to jump to the sections I want to read first. Stable, has not crashed or locked up on me yet. Nice job Daily Press.

"Need To Keep Local New". Newspapers are the only voice for local news. Need to keep reporting.

Ehh. Doesn't refresh when app opens. Which is really annoying. This original web page just gives you an add to download the mediocre app and shows no news. It's really annoying.

New version is poor!. Took a great app and made it hard to work - no swiping to move from one section to another and now want to charge five dollars a month - will delete!!

Extremely Good App.. I love readin the dp, so I was excited to see the front page this morn with news that they had an app. This is a downright awesome app!! Only improvement would be addin a comics section. Good job guys

Scrolling in stories still an issue. I just updated to IOS 16.1 and I can’t scroll stories I access through the app. I have to email the story to myself in order to read it.

Obits. Obits will not stay on ipad without sliding off!

Huge Storage Memory Requirement. This is a beautiful app which displays the news very well. But, of all the apps on my iPad it requires the most memory (about 600 MB). This is way more than the New York Times or Washington Post, for instance. My IPad was on the edge of not having enough memory. This app throws it over the top so I may need to buy a new iPad to keep using this and my other favorites. Cheaper alternative is to cancels this app. Why can't this app be designed to be more efficient like those of other more well known newspapers?
