TIME Magazine Reviews

  • No portrait mode

You'd think they'd make it easier to read by allowing you to view the article in portrait mode. When I go to zoom it in it often pulls the next page into view as well. Too bad they don't read the overwhelming negative reviews for their app. It seems like they are out of touch with their readers.
  • Bring Back the iOS Edition!!

I used to love this app. It was optimized for use on an iPhone and it meant I could keep up with the magazine no matter where I was. Now all you get is the PDF that you have to zoom in on, as many people have noted. This makes it very hard to read and remarkably unpleasant. I'm beginning to wonder if I should just cancel my whole subscription. It was the digital app on the iPhone that kept me as a subscriber. I have been waiting, hoping it was a glitch and they would bring it back… But no changes yet. Tremendously disappointed as someone who has subscribed to this magazine since I was 16 years old
  • Bad format of the content

Despite the recent reviews, the app is still capable of supporting interactive reading vs PDF zooming/panning. Try open any issue from 2015/2014. I think it's just with the recent issues, TIME took a shortcut and didn't deploy them as interactive content. I believe we should put pressure on customer service, to make them deploy issues as rich content as they used to do.
  • Essentially a PDF

Please bring back the previous version of this app. The current one is unreadable.
  • Used to be Great!

If you have had this subscription in the past you know how great it once was. Now it's just a scrolling pdf. I recently subscribed again and wish I had not. I expect more from Time.
  • A pitiful excuse of an app for a great magazine

As others have pointed out, the app is nothing but a PDF with none of the interactivity it used to have. Here are my main gripes with it: • The default font is tiny and non-adjustable • You can make the font bigger by double-tabbing the screen but then it is too big! You can adjust it using the reverse-pinch gesture but that's annoying to do that for every single page! • In the Table of Contents you can't click on an article to go to it. It would be pretty easy to build this functionality into the app. God only knows why they couldn't go the extra step to make this happen?? • There is no interactivity—the app is now flat and lifeless! Why even haven an app? I guess it's just a delivery mechanism for the lame PDF. I'm going to call Time up right now and either get a refund or get a printed version which would be way more satisfying to read than this disappointment!
  • Digital not worth it

The app is almost completely unusable...it's just a PDF; the text is ridiculous small and hard to read. Every time you zoom in attemp to read the small text, the page turns. It is not optimized at all for the the iPhone like it used to be. If you double tap to zoom and then pan the page, the page changes on you. It does not fit to the screen and interactive like it used to be. The app is so glitchy that it is literally impossible to read with out a person finding a person. I enjoy reading TIME, but I guess he only tru way of enjoying the magazine is by waiting for the actual physical copy to arrive in my mail box. Not happy at all...
  • Worst App

This App is awful as it will not reliably identify subscriptions and denies access no matter how many time you put in customer number, email and data. It is not surprising Time is having so much trouble as a publication when it is so Mobile user unfriendly. The access system seems to have need designed in the era of the IPhone 3. Also customer service is non-existent. I wish I could get back the $180 I paid for the subscription. Avoid at all costs!
  • Terrible App

This app is very hard to read. The print type is too small and when enlarged you can not see whole page. Cant navigate to an article from index but have to page through every page to find anything. Orientation is wrong for iPad.
  • Useless since Jan 2017

I can't believe it. This app went from superb to useless in a blink. I will now cancel my subscription. Like many has commented it is now a standard PDF copy of the printed magazine.
  • Horrible app

Bring back the old app. New one is horrible with tiny fonts and no scaling.
  • Poor user interface

The articles cannot be read without zooming in. The pictures are split between two pages. Nothing can be read on a smartphone, and I only have the digital subscription. Reading time used to be enjoyable, but not on this app. I need an update or I will definitely be unsubscribing.
