Download. Very disappointed in the fact it’s been over a month and my iPhone app cannot download the newspaper!!! I have emailed customer support 4 times still no response and the app still doesn’t work!! Terrible customer service very frustrating and disappointing!! My favorite paper is pushing me away slowly!! Horrible service in response!!

Please fix your App.. Please fix the bugs with the app. The top news constantly shifts position while scrolling, the articles don’t scroll all the way to the bottom and the ads scrunch up the text so that it cannot be read. It’s really amateurish for a media outlet as established as the Daily News.

Worthless. This app is worthless. At first I could read it with big adds on either side of the page but lately I get to the paper, click on it and it says I’ve reach my limit. From that point nothing is active on the page. Whoever did this app should be replaced.

IOS 16 glitch. So first off let me say I love the NY Daily News and their app has satisfied me for a long time, but with the latest IOS 16 update for iPhone, the app no longer works properly when I tap on a story to read it. The story appears but then will not scroll down at all instead showing a glitchy interface. Please fix soon so I can back to reading your content. Thank you.

News at it best. I enjoy reading the news before others even know about the headline! Thanks to the staff of one of the country’s best news papers.

Pay for What?. I have been a faithful user of the Daily News app for years. Its unfortunate that they have now decided to force users into paying for a subscription when it has been free all this time. There are a fair amount of ads and not to mention the refresh rate of some content is not that great. Unfortunately I will be deleting.

Problem with subscription. I can’t always read the articles even tho I have a subscription.

Daily News. Hey I’m a New Yorker living in Florida, I love to be able to read the Daiy News here on line. You can never take the New York paper from a Floridian.

Moving more to the center good sign. After deleting this app. Im thinking about giving it another try as i see after the massive layoffs nydayli have slowly gone back to the middle instead of being a socialist far left newspaper bashing trump all day and being an arm for the radical left. The worst. Misspelling , new not accurate and now they wanna make you pay yea bye bye daily news worst app since the daily news was sold to this new company . Also head lines are the same once Friday hits until sunday midnight if you’ll lucky .dont waste your time on this app .

Work needed.. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. This app is confusing and not as user friendly as the previous one. Stories are repeated over and over, you can’t swipe anymore to or fro articles etc. I would advise that in the future you not release new versions until thoroughly perfect.

Can’t scroll down. After upgrading to the latest iOS 16.1 update, I’m no longer able to scroll down within an article after selecting to read it. Reported it to New York Daily support a few days ago, still no response from them

Real NYC News. This is the REAL NYC paper, with down to earth news for the People, not the elite. I do read the NYT, but this is the paper that shows NYC as it is!

Great. Love this app and the e paper. Interesting news from different perspectives. Entertaining and informative. Wondering why people on here complaining are not calling 911 and reporting that someone is holding a gun to their head forcing them to read it!

Best coverage. Have been reading the sport’s second over 50years & still feel it has the best coverage

Why is it getting worse?. Update: now I have to pay for this unfinished product??? Delete App.. done. This new update doesn’t allow you to swipe left after reading an article, you have to click the back button that brings you back to the top of the list of articles. You essentially lose your place and have to sift through all the article titles to read to get back to where you were. Whose idiotic idea was this?. Plus now that all these pics are huge now I have to scroll forever to see all the articles. Bigger pics mean longer downloads. And now I see doubles of the same articles, this has got to be a joke. Think before you do. Don’t put unfinished products or change somewhat functional ones just for the same of change.

Alerts. Where are the breaking news alerts?

This App no longer works since iOS17. It stopped working when iOS17 was downloaded. No response from any emails to support. Have been stealing my money since I renewed. Expect a class action suit. Such a shame. Used to read it every day. I would give it no stars since it doesn’t give me anything.

Daily news app. More often than not, when I select an article on my app, a message appears telling me I’ve reached my monthly limit. Nowhere does it say how many selections I get; and sometimes I haven’t been on the app for a week or more. Nor does it tell me how many I have remaining for that month. So, I go to other news apps. Love the News, but what’s up with that?

Best News Ever. I have always loved the daily news , you have been my favorite for years . Always up on your current events congrats keep the great work up.

Limited Views. This is supposed to be FREE app. You have a paid app that gives you the whole paper. Why are you now limiting stories on this app? Problems. Fix the problems as they have been described by others for the last few weeks. Why the delay? Other apps fix their issues within days of being reported.

Online news updates should be better. (Especially on weekends). As a NY Daily News online subscriber, I find that the free, NY Post online news, updates their stories more frequently than the NY Daily News. In addition, the updates for online Daily News updates on weekends is even worse. They should hire additional staff to honor what their online subscribers are paying for.

Updates needs be done daily. They need to update the back cover photos daily!!...The same articles in sports are over 3moths old....World Cup is over, why are there still pics about it?... Same articles are being reported in multiple sections.... They need more stories....

Terrible customer service.. There have always been issues with this app. Every since I upload latest iOS 17 I can’t upload the daily issues. I have written to customer service several times and never receive any reply beyond the standard we will reply in 72 hours. Why pay for this app through Apple

Daily News App. You constantly repeat your articles two or three times. Once is enough.

"Top News" notifications - are you kidding me?. I had “Top News” enabled in Settings and I got about 7 notifications within a couple of hours. Do you realize that the best newspapers such as WSJ and NYT allow themselves to send no more than 2 to 5 “breaking news” alerts per *day*? Please learn to have some standards and stop spamming your subscribers. For now, my notifications from the Daily News app are set to off.

Cannot view articles. Could be a bit better

Glitch ios16. Since the ios16 update this app has a glitch where I cannot read any of the articles. When I pull down on the screen, instead of expanding so it can be read, the article does not open; instead it looks as if the screen is shaking. Before the update the app worked perfectly, I noticed the last app update was 1 month ago, perhaps the update needs to be updated.

The Digital Edition and This app digital paper. I have a current subscription to the digital edition for the news (white with red lettering), can’t download the papers. I was looking over this app and purchased it in error. This second Daily News app the was just updated. However, when I downloaded the e-paper from this application it said my limited was up and I can made another purchase too to read the paper. I contacted apple for a refund. Hopefully, I may get this purchase back except the taxes . I do miss the paper but I feel I being rob by the Daily News by using their apps. I been a Daily News reader for over 60 years. I got no feedback from the older app with many inquiries. I quest it with be the same for this app also.

Now worth the digital ink it’s printed with!. Worse then then the National Inquirer, has always been bad but ever since the most recent update it’s basically the same 5 stories all day long under each section. Not only are the people who write the opinion pieces just short of mentally deficient but all they complain about is President Trump and perceived inequalities that the typical criminal class in NY Experience’s. Many times the opinions are also written as facts, which unfortunately happens just about everywhere these days but this news organization takes the cake. So now not only is the “News” unreadable, the app has become unusable and poorly written as well. Oh, and a side note. Never have I seen so many spelling mistakes in articles as on this papers site!!

Needs Lots of Improvement. NYDN’s app and webpage needs lots of work. It’s hard to understand why it’s so poorly done. The same article gets repeated 3,4, 5 times as you scroll through the top stories. Articles get carried for days on end with not enough fresh content. Photos are not framed properly as you scroll though top stories. The sports coverage has gone down the toilet. There very little original content or opinion. If anything important is happening locally, I look to other sources for up-to-date news coverage. That shouldn’t be. I want this app to be good. Long ago I purchased the paper every day on my way to work, but I’m ready to accept a good app. I want excellent local coverage of the news, investigative stories, great columnists like much-missed Pete Hammil and Mike Lupica. I want daily, in-depth coverage of my favorite local sport teams. I’m not certain how much longer I will keep checking the NYDN online, hoping for improvement, before I give up.

Unable to Access. After paying for a one year subscription in August 2022 I have not been able read the articles on the app. Settings in the app indicates that I don’t have an active subscription. Phone calls to customer service results are that I still can’t access.

Widget not working. It's been 2 months since the widget has been updated and linking current news. I think it's time for an update.

Worst ever. The New York Daily News app is worthless, as is there customer service, which has not responded to several requests for help via email. The app does not download the daily edition, instead it goes into pause mode. No support at all, but does have my subscription money. What a waste. Boo of the year.

Must have app.. Great source of information, Daily News is a must have app on your phone, that everyone should have.

Goodbye. You know, I even tried to subscribe. I guess some people (many?) have figured out how to do it. The app doesn’t seem to let me do it. I can’t be bothered. It’s too much trouble. I’ve been reading the News for 30+ years. I read it mostly for the sports coverage. Despite the constant typos and errors, it is the only regular source of local sports news that seems to work for me. But, you know what. F it. This is a bridge too far. I’ve just deleted the app for the last time. Maybe I’ll check back in a year or two and see if they’ve fixed it. For now, it’s too much trouble. Good riddance. I’ll use my10-20 minutes of daily news reading on something more productive. C-ya.

Poor Cust Service No Access. I have a subscription and every month I get a notice that says I e reached my monthly limit. Further it says I can sign up for a subscription. Every month I contact Cust Service. Every month the response is along the lines of we received your email and will response within 72 hours. Not once have I been contacted. I DO NOT recommend anyone subscribe

GREAT NEWS FOR DECADES. The Daily News always gave the public top notch, top shelf news always. I don’t like your Reporters constantly Degrading & Debasing former President Trump. All that negativity turns me off. However your paper gives great news stories. 👍👍👍

Useful Frequent Updates. Great up to the minute news. Especially informative about local events.

Front page problem. I don't like seeing an advertisement as your front page. I want to see the actual fro t page headlines. I canceled subscription previously due to this. I thought you corrected it. If it doesn’t change I will cancel again.

Stopped working. Use this app every day with a few other news apps and this has just stopped working. Open the app and start reading then it just closes. It has been a great app & I hope they fix this soon.

Awful!!! It keeps crashing!!. It takes forever to read 1 article because it crashes every few seconds. Not sure why no one has bothered to fix the problem.

It turned to garbage over night. One day I was using this and everything was fine then it's starts to crash on me all the time. Why is this app so garbage??? Why haven't you solved the problem yet? Fix the problem

Simply Bad!. I’ve had an unlimited subscription for several years and all of a sudden I start getting pop-ups saying that my monthly limit is up. Very annoying when trying to read. I’ve tried deleting the app and re-installing and still same issue. Maybe I should try another paper?

No Point in Keeping this App. If ONE (1) article per month is my free limit, then there is no reason to keep this app. Too bad: NY Daily News is a great paper!

What's with the spelling errors?. I actually really like this app, but I am disappointed with the amount of spelling and grammar errors. It undermines the integrity of the articles. Oh...let's not get started on the crashes...anyone out there????

No Horoscope!!!. The daily/weekly/monthly horoscopes are not loading on the new app... Please fix.

Good balance of usability and style. I was nervous to update given the awful updates of so many other news apps. But this one got it right. The new form factor is even better than the original which was good itself. Two areas for improvement: The font is a bit too small to read comfortably in the list view of article headlines. There are big blank gaps in the text of the articles, though I'm sure these are placeholders for ads.

Worse after update!. I updated this app after the prompt and now it won’t even open, crashes. Should’ve left it alone 2 updates ago. After recent update I can’t enlarge the screen, select a picture.

Worst news app ever. Always glitchy, news article gets repeated on the same feed, so if I scroll down, I’ll see the same article. It crashes at times. Never a pleasant experience

Old app better. Liked old app better. Too hard to find news stories I want. Too much like National Enquirer.

Must pay. Used to be decent app until recently if you want to read more than 3 articles a month they charge you. NY Post is free and so are many others. Even paid it still has ads. Not worth it. Ruined a good news source

Updating the News. I read the news on the app every day. I have seen some of the same stories from nearly 3 and 4 months ago that pop up after the first 10 or 15 stories, like Jeff Goldbloom and father day and how the World Cup trophy is made.

Subscription required?. I have been a Daily News reader for years! With all the competition out there providing free news, this wasn’t the best idea you’ve had. App has been deleted. Carry on.

Pay to view? Must be crazy!. This isn’t The NY Times app! I deleted this app because they want someone to pay for a subscription?! No thank you! I will pay for The NY Times if I have to pay to read the news which they barely give.

Bring back the ability to swipe through articles. This is the only news app which does not have this capability.

Till today I would have given it 5 stars.. I cancelled my subscription because the format changed. I can no longer do page turns on my iPad. If it’s there I can’t find it.

Article Limit!!!. This is a garbage app. I try to stay as informed as possible and like to read the NY Daily News, NY Post, and The NY Times. This Daily News app has a LIMIT!!! on how many articles you can read a month. Deleting, what a waste.

Greatest piece of crap in NY. If you want to read Trump bashing and DeBaliso praising go no further, you can read it right here.

Pay for subscription. As long as the NY Post is free (and so much other news is free) I can’t justify paying anything for the Daily News. Shame because I have read it for decades. I might delete the app until it’s free again.

Not getting my money.. The articles are full of spelling and grammar mistakes. Your opinions are borderline racist. The only reason why I used this app was for local crime news. I would not pay a $1 a month to keep reading this. Deleted.

Read Another Paper. Terrible app. Old articles continue to show up. With so many options available this is one app that will end up in the trash.

Rip off!. I pay nothing for the ny post app which updates practically ever hour or so. I have to pay for the Daily News app. Daily news NEVER updates regularly. Dissapointing, they used to be my go to newspaper!

It’s Great !. Easy to read print.

Not paying $7.99 a month. I’m not interested in paying $7.99 a month for this. I live in Washington state and just read it for east coast news. For free, though, or maybe even $1 a month, but no way, not paying $8 monthly.

What are they thinking?. This new app (the red one) is lacking the actual newspaper download, which is a pleasure to read on the older app. Too much white space, scrolling, and clicking. No box scores, no tv listings. Losing touch.

The scrolling problem. The above issue remains a major problem in that it renders the application useless. I will soon be canceling the paid subscription.
