Good translator but with too many other functionalities and adds. As a dictionary, overall it’s good. I’ve been using this for a long time. However, there’s more and more new stuff coming out, like online courses or tutoring videos, and the app pops up a lot of adds for them which is very annoying to me. I use this app only as a dictionary and I don’t wanna see adds popping up every once in a while. I have never used and I’m very likely never going to use these “new” features and they make the app look very messy to me.

Just delete this app. 刚刚注意到这个app会偷信息！ 无论我从哪里copy信息（我只是copy然后贴到别的地方，不是想查字典），这个信息会自动paste到这个软件。这个app没有做出显示。但是我手机提示我刚刚copy的信息已经贴到有道词典！也就是说网易知道我刚刚copy的内容！这次有点过分了 This is not acceptable! No matter what information I copied from any app, it will be “ paste” in this app! That means if you copied your credit card number , it will automatically “ paste” within this app. It did not show up within the app, but my phone showed notifications said that ! This is scary!

It helps!. Depending on the support from Youdao translator, I have gained my associate degree, and I still use it for the enrichment of my education and for the convince. I have it on my desktop computer, my IPad and my IPhone. I love it.

Great app. I love it！！！ One small suggestion: I always hope to have a place to write down my own notes in the app. So that when I review the recent words, I could also review my own notes (i.e. examples or context). I hope I was not asking to much... This is a great app!

disgusting app filled with annoying ads and Chinese communist propaganda. DO NOT install their app! It’s one of the worst translators that is both inconsistent and outdated. It is filled with hundreds of different ads and commercials videos which distract users a lot. The homepage is very messy and annoying. In addition, this app is definitely Communist’s propaganda to “western world”, it spreads false and completely fake news/articles and even made them showcase as “daily learning” or sth similar on their homepage for people to learn!! Truly disgusting, Big NOOO! trust me.

Nothing but good. I've been using it and seeing it grow over time. It's no longer a dictionary app to me, it my mentor in some sense. There are too many situations I need a quick translation and I can always find youdao helpful either by direct lookup or as a starting point that leads me to other more useful places.

Hope it had a better UI design!. I have been using it for years and recently almost got tired of this since I can hardly find anything useful. But after comparing it with Eudic I have to admit that Youdao has a more accurate translation. Pleaaaase make your UI design cleaner and more user friendly!!! I’m buried with all the ads and can’t find the really useful features!!!

Nice tool so far. I found it quite useful so far, although the word card can be improved to some extent. The explanation to the word is too short in the word card mode, and it is cumbersome to get the expanded mode

One of the best language apps. I am very thankful to be introduced by a friend from China few years ago while I was struggling to use other inefficient translation and dictionary apps. Since I got this I have been using it everyday. I specially love the dictionary part has many sample sentences and very accurately show you what “the” word can means. I highly recommend it to all my friends and family for this app. It helped me to travel around Korea without knowing any their language even. Thank you - 有道

No longer support split view in ipad after update. It worked well in splitting views in my ipad before, which I enjoyed a lot when reading on one side and look up words on the other. However, after recent updates it no longer support such function.

Great but a SCAM. This app had been top to bottom my favorite! I have been using it for years and it has been excellent. However, I found it very scammy for the past year. Notifications showed that my information from my MacBook and other apps on iPhone has been pasted to this app popped up almost every one or two hours, even I wasn’t using it! There is definitely no reason that it should use so much of my info that wild. Time to say goodbye to this app. Replacing it with Google Translate. Not as good as Youdao, but I feel much safer using it.

Good but one suggestion. I really love this app it helped me so much in many ways . Sometimes when I use the app to search some Chinese words that I don’t know, there are so many words that were a word but weren’t even on there. I think this app could be better if there were more words added to this app !

A good product. I use this e-dictionary for many years. It has several most important dictionaries and can help user to increase the volume of vocabulary. I like the design of the interface and other functions as well. And even more this is a free app. I recommend English learners to use this app as much as possible.

Maybe the best Chinese-English translation app. Used several ones before, this one is highly recommended. Frequently updated. Hopefully provide more professional translation on specific sci / tech / financial/ political, etc areas ~

Very good app. I have used youdao for years. It woks so we’ll. I can always find the words I need. My favorite feature of the app is the personal vocabulary list, which provides a centralized place for new words.

Adding a feature about opening two taps at the same time?. The new version of iPad supports users to open 2taps at the same time to level up work efficiency. Hope to add that feature ‘cuz it’s really helpful especially as a dictionary. Thank you very much

Getting worse and worse. Just one question to the developer: why does anybody want to watch 5 seconds of ads, click X to 2 other pops-up windows of promotion, in order to check just one word??!!! You guys are getting so greedy and it’s a long lost game.

Wonderful Dictionary-Translation App. I’ve been using YouDao for 5 years and seen its growth and improvements. The translations are getting more and more accurate, and I truly can’t live without it. The one suggestion that I have for it is that is its developers can add a feature of looking up words based on definitions and synonyms in 单词本. It would be tremendous help especially when writing papers when I want to use the just-right word for what I want to convey, but simply can’t think of one because I just don’t have that big of a vocabulary reservoir.

Very nice app. I use it almost everyday, it’s a very convenient app which allows you to translate things easy and fast. If the open time for the app is faster, I would say it’s a perfect app!

LOVE BUT HATE ADS. I do love the fact that this app has the richest knowledge of vocabulary out of all translation apps out there. But i absolutely hate the ads whenever I opened up the app and tried to look up a word ASAP.

Thanks for the update. Around five months ago, I downloaded this youdao app. I really like it. Now you guys add landscape for the app which I didn’t realize it happened. I was surprised. It is a tricky pop up for review :). In the app, they will ask you whether you like our app. If you tab like, then they will jump to this review page and waiting for a good rating. However, if you tab no, they will just pop up a text box and ask you to put the feedback. Basically they pre-filter the users with high satisfaction and mislead the unsatisfied users to some where else. I would say that’s a hidden smart trick but users don’t like it. They will feel they are fouled and it will ruin all the good feeling on this app. Please don’t try to play this trick and it doesn’t worth it.

Favorite translation app for a decade! 用了十年了！. Love the AR camera scanning function! Awesome way to make my reading so much easier. Also the translation is very accurate! Recommend it to anyone. 拍照翻译功能太棒了好方便！翻译很准确自然。强力推荐！

Good. Complete translations, even some pop-words. The column that expand your knowledge is also useful. Let’s say, not only you learn English, but also learn more about the world. Some funny stories, some serious articles, etc.. I love it!

please consider adding short cuts. It would be nice, especially for keypad users, if one can, after each press of the enter key, directly type into the search rather than having to click on the search bar first. I guess this would work even for virtual keypad users.

Way better than Google translator for Chinese. I was quite unhappy with Google translator for it only shows 1-2 translations in Chinese and something they are not accurate. My parents always use Youdao apps and they are happy about it. Finally I decided to give it a try and immediately I loved it. Will recommend it to other friends.

Good to use. I’m forced to come here and give this comment because there are at least five times coming out a blocking every time I use it. This is the only disadvantage. Please don’t force me to comment anymore.

Landscape mode please. I have used Youdao dictionary app in my phone and laptop since it launched. However, recently I purchased an iPad Pro to get my writing and reading in one device, as well as to enjoy the multi-task mode, I felt uncomfortable to use it because it cannot switch to landscape mode. It is a bit annoying since I cannot use the multi-task feature.

Small font for elders. My father really likes this app and use it to learn English almost everyday. However, he has some problems with the small font size. There is not font size setting in the app. Could anyone make the font size adjustable on iPhone?

I’ve tried a lot of different dictionaries, but so far, this is the best app. Regardless of the annoying ads, this is the best dictionary app I’ve used so far, and it helped me a lot.

The best dictionary ever. This app helps me a lot day by day, and there's function that I could collect all the difficult vocabulary in my own profile page and build text for myself.

I just want a clear dictionary without all the articles. I like this app when it was simple. They are having too much articles at dictionary searching page, sometimes distracting. Please add a function that we can choose to show the articles on dictionary page or not.

My everyday tool. As an international student pursuing degrees in an American university I still found this dictionary powerful and helpful in my everyday life as it was in the old days. I keep learning English as one of the important courses that never ends. And I can tell that this dictionary is improving itself like I do. Even though I wanna complain about the limit use of the advanced dictionaries unless you pay and become a VIP.

New version is too distracting. I’ve been using this tool for years and always been my number one recommendation to others. However in the new release they added a lot of socializing features which are very distracting and annoying. Loading takes longer too.

Excellent job. I use Youdao almost 4year. It has pronunciation, example, different explanations from other dictionaries. I tried to find other apps for my Persian too, but it is nothing outside. I hope Youdao can open a new tool for Persian. Thanks😁😁

Good but not perfect. I started using youdao several years ago. I’ve seen its improvements in translation. The only disadvantage is that the app can not be used in a landscape mode, which gives me a little headache every time I use my iPad with a Bluetooth keyboard. I really hope that the app developer can add this function into the app and that would make youdao a perfect app for me

helpful and handy dictionary. great mobile dictionary for learning English

Very useful. I use it nearly everyday it got definitions both in Chinese and English it got samples and also pronunciation that’s all I need!

Not able to use when in a split screen on iPad”18 (iOS 12.4). It was good to use as it can use in split mode with other APP such as GoodNotes , but in this week it suddenly cancel this function and there is only the main screen mode available, which is very disrupted when in a workflow. Fix it please.

Using it all the time.. With Youdao, I barely use dictionary book anymore. And it’s a very good tool to learn new words and review them afterwards.

Easy, fast and accurate translator. I have been using this translator many years since I came Melbourne in 2009. Youdao had helped me a lot. I can remember the days using mobile to do a English to Chinese translation in supermarkets. While I was holding a brisket , another hand was typing English characters into my mobile in order to know what does brisket mean. It was good memories. Thank you youdao, and keep it up!

Loading time is too long. This app in general is great except the resource usage and loading time. Hopefully, it can improve these area in the future.

Why the Longman Dictionary suddenly disappeared?!. I am just not sure why the Longman Dictionary part suddenly disappeared this morning when I was trying to look over a word, no matter how change the sequence of dictionary. Longman is one my favorite and reliable dictionary. But it is just this one not available suddenly...

已经不是字典了. 删除之前来给个差评，字典就好好做字典，最早那些追求简洁方便的有道已经不在了。打开就像一个社交软件，然后还这个广告那个会员的，查个词却慢的很……差评……

全球发音呢. 以前的全球发音很实用！也可以区分各个国家的口音和区别。现在换成什么明星发音，而取消了全球发音，这很不公平，不是所有人都追星，有些人只是单纯的想学发音！也不是所有人都愿意跟着中国人学习英文发音！

快速取词半天取不出来. 拍照翻译里的快速取词是瞎子吧！取半天取不到，明明很清晰，也无其他单词干扰，就是取不出框里的单词，太无语了！

网络太垃圾了. 广告太多，网络太垃圾了。这是唯一一个我用到能生气然后跑来写评论的APP。

功能很好，但是为什么三天两头就要把我登出，每个设备都会这样. 海外用户使用微信登录，软件频繁的把我登出，每周至少需要重新登录3-4次，不登陆就不能看到我的单词本和订阅服务，必须我再次登陆。为了账户安全也不需要这么频繁的把我登出吧？

开放导入单词本API. 太多没用的花里胡哨的东西了，硬件也一样。真有用的东西反而做的很差。至少开放个导入生词本的 API 啊，争取把别家词典用户给拉拢过来啊……

Not honest in business, disable purchased dictionaries without notice!!!. It is not worth to pay for this app. I purchased 4 offline dictionaries several years ago, only found out they disabled off-line dictionaries function after a few upgrades. Not honest in business, disappointed!!!

No 1 dictionary app. Use more than 10 times per day, never let me down no matter translate from English or Chinese.

Useful app for providing translations. They could improve it by proving audio translation functions

Too Good to be - Free. Love the features such as photograph words to be translated, saving words to come back to and syncing with other devices. Thus program is the best dictionary app yet!

Not bad. The interface is clean and convenient. I don’t pay for any subscriptions so I can live with some of the compound explanations.

Background activity being killed. When I switch to it from another app, it has to reopen every time, which is annoying and inconvenient. Hope to be fixed

Nice app!. Very easy to use, also has a lot of good resources for English learning. Highly recommended! But hope they will improve the pronunciation of the vocabulary, sometimes I found it not accurate.

So many ads and disturbing extra features. The app recently added so many ads and useless, disturbing extra features which jeopardize the core user case: I just want to quickly check a word when I need it.

So functioning!. Quick response and very nice functions for multi languages. Also the verbs study book is one of the favorite option.

No meaning shows up for many words. Since the last update, many words turn out to be no meaning found. Anyone else has the same situation?

95% time reliable. This is a pretty good and easy to use translation app. Only very rarely one couldn't find some items.

Very helpful for translation!. I downloaded this app for Chinese-English words translation, it performs as it is expected most of occasions. The only drawback is it can’t translate some colloquial languages or slangs or some trending words. Recommended.

WORST dictionary / translator. The amount of ads/prompting you to login is simply unbearable. All the additional features are pure gimmicks and no one ever uses them. I don’t know what’s so hard about making a simple dictionary that allows people to search for words. Guess I’ll just stick with Google translate.
