You can't keep track of your progress. I believe that this app would be like the prepware website but this thing is way more simple. You can't select the number of question you want to answer, and this app don't keep a track of your progress. But still a good tool to study in your free time and the price it's affordable.

Needs Some Work. Only contains about 2/3 of the total questions. Noticed several errors/discrepancies compared to Gleim. Further research showed Gleim to be correct. App works well. Would be 5 stars if they updated/added questions and had the correct answers for all.

Passed my ATP with an 89, I Recommend it. This app did what it was supposed to, helped me pass my ATP knowledge test with an 89 using only this app. It's easily worth the $10. I used it for about 10 days before the test and really tried to study through understanding the material. I liked the explanations to the questions and that it's a one time purchase right from the App Store with question updates regularly. As for what could use improvement, there were 14 questions on the test that I didn't recognize. There needs to be a feedback / contact link right in the app to submit improvements and test questions after finishing. Also, after clicking an answer, the iPhone version should automatically show explanations under "Answer Choices". Currently you must click a button, a pop up shows, then you must close it, then click next. Repeated hundreds of times it's annoying. For this ASA app, I was worried about the price and doing what I needed. But it worked! I think they should raise the price to $25-30 just to feel more legit, I would have been less hesitant to buy it, it's doesn't cost enough currently. Add another $5 if they add the section summaries like in the book and $5 for the ability to type in learning statement codes after taking the test to review all relevant missed questions. While I passed, others I talked to in my airline class used Sheppard Air for scores in the mid 90's. However, Sheppard air seems like a sleazy company to me in part by requiring people to call in to pay for the app so they can get the benefits Apple provides while they circumvent paying Apple for it. So I'm short, I passed only using this App, liked the updates, and would recommend using it.

Great App. Love this app! After using it I was able to pass my ATP knowledge test with a very comfortable score. Always up to date, I still use it to refresh my knowledge.

Not the best. If you are ok getting just above the passing score then get ASA. originally I didn’t want to spend $75 for a test prep but after hearing from people that took the test with ASA and from others that took it with Sheppard air and getting mid 90s I decided to buy shepherd with very good result.

Could be better. It's ok but it could be better. I would love to be able to select number of questions for practice test, and a version for iPad would be lovely as well. I do like the simple way it tells you if you are right or wrong, but I feel the explanations are lacking sometimes. It's great for you that is just practicing questions on the go, but I was hoping for more of a learning setting with this app, because that's what was indicated in the description.

Great App. Well Done

Great start.. I'm glad to see the effort towards all the writtens and this is a fairly good implementation. I too would definitely like to see the ability to study by sections. Actually I think that's a must for any iPhone/mobile version. Too many of the questions on the ATP involve the use of detailed graphs or calculations - hard to do if the iPhone is also your calculator and you have to quit the app. But sections of the test could be studied easily whenever you have free time if only I could narrow it down to just specific sections - i.e., skip questions on detailed flight planning or W&B calculations. Overall, a good start and a useful app, but could be awesome with some more features.

I don’t recommend. Some issues with saving your study sessions. Doesn’t separate 121 and 135. All questions in Study mode are random, you cant organize the questions. I recommend using Gleim online or any other software

Please make it more difficult to close out the sections you are operating in.. Good Application and easy to use. The only issue I have is the when you are answering the question and you need to refer to a figure. The button used to return from the figure to the test or study session is located in the same spot as the button to back your way out of the test or study session. I have backed my way out by mistake a bunch of times and I keep losing my progress.

Does not work. This app doesn't open on my iphone 5 iOS 7.0.4 any help with this would be grateful

Strong suggestion. In spite of the positive reviews, I am really frustrated and disappointed that I can't mask the wrong answers. That is where your competition has a really rate of success. With their system, not only the person past the test but learn from the test. Even before the electronic written test preps all we had was the test bank booklet, the prefer method was to mask the wrong answer. The right answer was thw only familiar choice and the learning was inevitable. For instance, please add that option to the ATP prep ware which has so many interpretative answers.

Not what you are hoping for.... There is no way to "study" with only the correct answers from the test bank showing. The only difference between test and study modes, is there is no explanation available for the test mode questions. Not actually available for iPad...don't waste your money....too small on iPad screen, and overall, it is not what you are expecting when there are so many other test prep softwares out there. (10 bucks I will never get back). Stay away until ASA catches up.

Good Aid but very incomplete. The App gives you an Idea and some good sample questions to undergo your FAA written Test. There are 1000 questions out of the regular 1500 and these questions aren't frequently updated. The study modes reset once you leave your study session in the middle even if you follow instructions of locking your phone.

New ADX questions!. Are you going to update the questions to the new ADX format?

Good for on the go but need to be able to see graphics alongside questions.. To switch back and forth between graphics and questions is a challenge at times. Would be nice to see an iPad version that incorporates this. As for on the iPhone, you have very little real-estate to work with so it wouldn't work anyway to change that. Every now and then it will not allow you see a graphic. Overall it is a great way to study while you are on the go.

Don’t waste your $$$. Use Sheppard Air. I have found multiple errors with this product. When I emailed them to the publisher’s CFI, here is the response I received, “I’m not really sure I can look into it.” So, there is no support from ASA, and the questions are dated and erroneous. While the app was only $10, the book that goes with the app was $50. So, for $60, I’m totally on my own with ASA, and if I have a question, there is no help. Sheppard Air was ONLY $5 more, and they have 24/7 support and a much more current database. Sheppard Air also has a 100% money back guarantee if you do not score at least 90% on your exam. I strongly recommend against this product and recommend Sheppard Air as a much better alternative. Thank you for your consideration.

Do NOT USE. It is not up to date. It will no prep you for the ATP, MUST USE SHEPPARD AIR.

Ok but some glitches. Sometimes can't see some figures/diagrams--they don't show up at all. Also would be nice to see diagrams at same time as questions in a split screen.

Great!!. Thanks guys, just like the pc prepware, but it would be nice to study by section too.

Good but not great. Very good for studying on the go, but charts and graphs are not scalable, and very difficult to read on the iPhone. Would have gotten 5 stars if this problem was fixed.

Wishing for more. Wish there was a way to select certain questions just like on the computer. Get to choose only the ones I need to study.

Failure App. Hi I have been studying with this app, but when I took my knowledge test I found some questions that I never read before here. I feel really frustrated with that.

Outdated. This version is not good for you if you are taking the test in 2015, missing soo many questions

Recommended AAA+++. The new updated version is superb. You can choose question by subjects. Thank you for that !!!!

Crashes!. I can only get through 10-20 questions before the software crashes. Happens on both my iPad and iPod touch. Even tried fresh restores on both of them trying to solve issue, and it still happens. I feel like I've thrown my money away on something that doesn't work.

This helped me tremendously!. I’ve been using the app on the go to help supplement my Prepware computer software since I can’t always be in front of my desktop. Huge variety of questions, the app did a good job at breaking all the questions down into specific subject areas that I was able to study more effectively. I have a short attention span so the save and resume feature worked out well for me, allowed me to return right where I left off.  Highly recommended if you want to score high on your knowledge test!

Great APP. Besides some issues with pfd/mfd graphics not working, and some answers not allowing for scanning to show full answer this is a great app. With it alone I easily banged out a 90 on the FAA test.

Major shortfall. It's biggest shortcoming is it doesn't allow you to study by just showing the correct answer, leveraging primacy to remember the right answer. Having used other products that do, this is now much less useful to me.

Needs some fixes. First off, convenient to have on the iPad. BUT, the graphics are very low resolution and I have a hard time reading details in the charts for the questions. Also, portrait mode cuts off parts of the answers, so you have to change to landscape just to read the complete answer choice. Fix those two issues and I'd be a happy camper. Everything else is great.

ATP Written. Prepare ATP worked great! I got 96% on my FAA ATP written. Thanks ASA Prepware ATP!

Books are better. For an app to win me over vs. using ATP test prep books, I would expect the app to keep track of my sessions, remember which questions I've missed overall so I can go back to them, and save my progress if I completely quit the app. This doesn't. It also can't generate study sessions with a defined number of questions. The figures display nicely, but the app doesn't show you the legends that would normally be available. Some questions refer to figures but the figures don't exist. The worst part of the app is that several ATP questions and answers are long, and they don't fit on this app's screen, so you can't read the whole thing and therefore can't answer the question. I wouldn't recommend this series of apps. Stick with books.

ATP. I accidentally downloaded this one and the Dauntless groundschool version they both have the same amount of questions. They both let you pick test you want to study. They both have a quiz feature that I haven't used yet. So I deleted the other one and went with the cheaper one.

Bad update... Fix The iPhone App. With the new update, you can not see the complete question and the complete answer even when you rotate the iPhone.... Please: FIIIIX IT

Horrible descriptions. It's great for studying the memory items (the ones that are correct), but the descriptions for the computations are beyond horrible. Some flat out tell you to refer to different question or another legend (why not supply that legend?) but provide no way to look up that specific question. Provides no cheats or hacks that simplify the computations like other testing software.

2 out of 125 questions were actually in the Prepware. Took my ATP Multi written this morning. After 15 hours a day for 5 days of studying ASA Prepware for my test, there were about 2 questions that appeared on the actual test. I’ve always used ASA with near 100% accuracy for all of my written. But until this morning I hadn’t needed to take one since 2016. I’m not sure what has happened but I wish I had read these reviews. I could’ve easily used something else. I was lucky to pass with an 86 but it took 2 hours and fortunately I’ve been flying for years and could answer most of the questions. Do not use this app.

None. APP looses its place. If left open, sometimes returns to where you stopped. Sometimes not. Irritating to have to start a section over with some having 200 questions or more

Review Or Read. ok, since there is no book for the ATP in the app store, or the itunes, to read it directly from the phone, choosing which category to study from is nice and very helpful, but it would have been much wiser and sweeter if it was all divided by the chapters. there are 17 chapters in the ATP, I don't think i have to mention them, i'm suppose to get my license a year ago, but had some troubles with the calculation sections. It would be great if there was a reading section beside the question and answer method. or just having the book available in the app store.

It's ok. Just took my ATP written and passed. I only used this program to study, which is the upside. The downside is most of the questions in this program did not show up on the test I took. Friends I have that used other prepware most all questions on their tests were already seen on the products they used. I passed and learned a lot but as a pure prepware I would not recommend this program over others.

Thanks for the update - it's the best!. It's a must have app for the iPad user. It's as good as any desk top test prep. ASA, with this update went from good to the best iPad test prep out there. Great job! I also love the checkride prep apps too.

It's good but could be better. The resolution on the images are actually pretty good. The test mode is good. The practice mode needs work. The could have a learning mode with just the correct answer and maybe some options for practice test with fewer than 80 questions. I'm not terribly disappointed but I'm not loving it enough to justify $9.99.

Good setup; needs minor bug fixes. Overall good app. Some thing that really need to be fixed is the ability to see all answers completely shown. Right now the most I can see is just the first 3 lines of text for each answer, and some are longer than that. Also, some way to save missed questions and study sessions would be great. Really great platform to make a great app with some small fixes and added features.

Not sufficient prep. I took my ATP ME written test today and even though I went through all of the questions in ASA’s bank multiple times and had scored well on the practice test, more than half of the questions on my test today were not in the ASA database. I’ve used APA test prep for Inst. and Com. and was happy with it, but the dropped the ball on ATP. P.S. I passed my test so this isn’t an angry “I failed and it’s your fault” kind of review but rather a warning for others.

A great tool!. I used this app for two days before I took the test. It was very convenient to take with me everywhere I go and study, including while flying! I highly recommend it.

Save your money!!!. Basically, it's an antiquated list of the old bank of questions. THE FAA HAS CHANGED HUNDREDS OF QUESTIONS RECENTLY. I took the ATP written today and this app/the actual ASA books only share perhaps 75% of the test questions currently used. Also, the app does not save your progress or in any way act "smart". The study mode is terrible. Your only options are to work through hundreds of questions randomly arranged within large topic groups. You can't work subgroups or make your own quizzes of problem areas. Until the industry figures out the new FAA test I'd wait to buy anything personally. Typical FAA, poorly written test with little relevance to actual practical knowledge. And yes, I did pass:)

Great idea, but has bugs. After answering a number of questions in 'study' mode, the app stops providing immediate feedback (with a green check or red x) when answering questions. I have to quit the app and restart in order to restore the functionality. I have the desktop version as well, and this iPad app does not work nearly as well. Please fix.

Does the job. Being a cheap airline pilot, i was looking for the cheapest way to study for my atp. The actual books are $25-35, so when i saw this app for $10, i gave it a shot. I took my test today and scored 93%. Some of the graphics are a little cumbersome to work with on the iphone screen, but that's not really the fault of the app. Some previous reviewers said that the instant feedback (green=correct answer) doesn't work if you leave the app in the middle of a study section and then return to the same section to complete it. It is true...if you leave and then select the app from the home screen the instant feedback doesn't come back on. BUT...when you want to resume, double tap the home button and select the app from the bottom of the screen (the multi-tasking area, i think) and the instant feedback will work without a problem. Hope this review wasn't too confusing and that it helps somebody out.

Decent for on the go study at work or gym. Bought this to study on the go and also had Gleim’s book to review. There’s so many questions on the test so it helped me get in extra study time. I did take a while in the test and scored 93. I’d say it’s useful to use with another study material. Didn’t check back to see how many questions were not on the test. Only complaint was the font on my phone but that’s a decent trade-off.

Good but not great. I really wish there was a way to save missed questions or at least list the test question numbers of missed questions. It is good for just taking the test but it doesn't save the missed one to help you study. I hope they fix this.

Missing questions?. Great app. Test and question format is just like the CBT test itself at the testing center. HOWEVER, do not expect this app to contain ALL FAA questions. Other than that, you can study anywhere and anytime.

not useful for the Canadian conversion. Just got this to study for the Canadian conversion test but that’s the only set of questions you can’t choose from the menu. Everything else is available (Aircraft Dispatcher, ATP multi, ATP single, ATP airplane 135, ATP heli 135 und ATP heli added. Wasted my money and have to buy the books now unless they update the app.

Do not use for Canadian ATP-ACM. I used this to study for Canadian conversion and there were zero of the same questions on the exam. That being said if you are a pilot with decent experience the exam is fairly easy.

Great for review. I found this program great for review and practice tests prior to my ATP written. I personally couldn't study for the entire exam using this, however I used it a lot while sitting around in pilot lounges waiting on pax. In my opinion, well worth the price and would suggest it to others.

Poor user interface. Poor user interface. Marked questions cannot be viewed alone. It is not apparent that if you leave the study mode you will loose all your marked questions. They obviously didn't use their own software... 5/25/15: addition. You have to be kidding me. Through the first section and no way once you exit to review marked questions, so I started again. Halfway through and when I entered the app again at work, it erased my progress and I have to start again. Critical time wasted. Don't buy this app until they fix this crap! 6/2/15: unbelievable! Went through second section last night. 212 questions with many marked for review. Left the app open when I went to bed to bypass the save and exit feature since it doesn't seem to work. This morning, I was on the home screen without the resume button available. Lost all that progress! There can't be a worst app in the store! 6/9/15: called to complain. The response, "it's not happening on mine and no one else has reported it". Pathetic. Today, reviewing the last section, weather. After saving and exiting, with 45 questions reviewed, returned using resume later this afternoon to find myself in the previous section which was already fully completed and reviewed the marked questions. Another 45 question review lost. Awful user interface. Buggy. Terrible app. Steer well clear! Finally, after speaking with clueless support rep, wrote long email outlining problems. The company didn't respond. I'll never use another one of their products or recommend them to anyone ever again.

It's ok. The app needs some improving. It would be nice to have the written study material included rather than just the study questions. This is a must for a person looking for the complete package. It would also be nice to have the app remember where you left off in the middle of each section. This would allow one to jump around to different sections. I would like to see this option. It's an ok app if your looking for the questions only. I have used ASA's written stuff for years as with most of us pilots and I am surprised that ASA didn't improve this yet. After testing for a while, the program has bugs. After a while, the program forgets where you left off when you shut down in the middle of a section...for the money, I wish there was a more stable app.....

wrong answers. Beware there are questions with the wrong answers. ASA is slipping
