As described, worth the money.. This app for iPhone does what the developer says it does and is an extremely useful tool for server admins. I need to monitor multiple servers in different locations and this tool makes it possible to check the status of all of them in under a minute.

I actually like this app. This app does what it says it does and it does it in a good way. If you have any bit of a technical bone in your body you will have no problem using this app.

Nice app, but give us one that combines all. Net Status does mostly what I expected, but could be more flexible and provide you more control. This could easily go from an average (3-stars) app to 5. One example is define what service it is checking on what port (not every admin assigns services to default ports). It should also allow you to choose a specific port and /or service. It also be nice to be able to pseudo-script how it interacts with a web page (e.g. login) to make sure it's really up/functioning. With modern web apps, this doesn't do much and still have to use Safari. Finally, Pavel provides a number of nice tools. Most who need one will want the others- common sense, right? By not providing all functionality in a single app should someone want it, it's really nickel and diming - IMO anyway. I'd obviously pay more ($7.99 seems about right) for an all inclusive app). Plus, I'd prefer 1 app icon over 6 or 7- I already have a ton of apps and while you can throw in a folder now, I have a ton of those and not a big fan because it's an extra step.

Excellent. This app enables me to remotely monitor numerous services running on numerous servers 24/7. It has enabled me to spot problems before the customers call! It is reliable, has just the right features, it loads fast and is easy to configure. A big "Thank You" to the programmer(s) who made this app!

Almost Perfect. I purchased Net Status to monitor a hotel network that I manage. From time to time our service provider will drop our service unexpectedly. I really love using Net Status on my iPhone but I hope that one day soon you guys can come out with a iPad version. I love all of the specific features located inside the app. I originally thought that Net Status would have an alarm service to warm me of any outages or dropped pings to my networks. This would be a great option to provide your users. Please consider adding this feature!

Best of breed. There are perhaps half a dozen apps in the store that can test the availability of remote services by tcp and udp ports, plus icmp echo. None do it as well as Net Status. This app is elegantly executed, easy to use, and runs flawlessly. The developer is responsive to questions and feature requests. When faced with a network infrastructure failure, this app - together with the enterprise monitoring platform I aslo use - helps me pinpoint the extent and location of that failure in record time. A truly useful addition to my troubleshooting tool set.

Simply Useful. I am an admin who like to check the site / server availability quite frequently. This tool let me isolate network issues, server issues and app issues quickly

Works great, could use auto check and notify. I wish this app would automatically check and notify me of problems.

Useful status monitor. I'm using this to keep track of my home network, where several computers are hidden away from view and a pain to access. Net Status allows me to quickly scan the computers on the net to see if any are misbehaving. If I was still working (I'm retired) I would set this up to monitor my key servers from the office.

Works perfectly. Tried other ping status tools, but they were either slow or unreliable. This one; however, works perfectly. It's fast, reliable, and even includes other useful features like a continuous traceroute. Very nice... I use it all the time. Thank you, this is great work!

It's a great tool but ….. ….. it would be even greater if we could schedule checks and if e.g. after 3 consecutive errors for a certain address, it would give an audible alert. For System Admins it would be most helpful then as we don't want to take out our phone every 15 minutes and start a check. Nevertheless 5 stars as it is still an extremely good product.

Very fast and reliable!. I've tried every host probe out there and this is by far the best. Extremely fast to configure and scan. It takes the app under 10 seconds to scan multiple ports on over 30 servers! The only downside is the ugly icon and unappealing UI but it's a utility and I would easily trade cosmetics to functionallity Great work!

Great App. Peace of mind in seconds.. My service provider sends me generic proactive tickets saying that my site is down. It used to take me ten minutes to figure out which of my 38 circuits had the issue. Now I can scan my entire network in seconds. Thank you!!!

great app. I was having some down time with a set of servers virtually hosted at one site. My free ping app wasn't doing it for me. This tool is great. set up multiple groups of servers. it auto detects the services for each service and lets you choose which it will check. (you can edit the auto detect list). it will check servers on app launch. has good ping support. nice organization. just what I was hoping for and only $2. NOTE: this is a professional level app. if you don't need to check health of a bunch of servers for work or fun, then it probably isn't for you. but for those of us that do, it's great so far. a good way to double check when my Nagios monitoring may be giving me a false negative.

Great server monitoring app. With a quick glance on my iPhone I can make sure that ping, http, https, mysql, and ssh are up for all of my servers. If any of them have an issue (e.g. mysql crashed or is not responding) it moves to the top of the list and is highlighted. Very simple and useful.

Simple clean interface. Solid app with a gorgeously clear design. When all I really need is a quick-check on multiple servers and services this is the app I go to. It's actually a stand out for performance and features packed into a dead-simple app, with well executed design. It may not have the bells and whistles of some of the others in my tool set, but real care went into doing what it does really well.

Not iPad friendly. Not iPad friendly. Only displays in portrait. My iPad keyboard case doesn't function standing up on end. Please fix.

Very nice app. I have bought a couple of other networking apps from this developer before and really liked them. I knew this app would be a winner too and I was not disappointed. I do wish Apple would allow wireless network signal scanning because I'm sure this developer would build a great tool for that as well. As for this app, it is very well worth the money.

Pretty good; could use minor UX adjustments. It works, and it works well. My only small complaint is that the buttons aren't always intuitive, and they're also very tiny and close together. Aside from that, though, I'm very happy with it.

How do you add custom services?. App claims to support custom services, but I can't figure it out. I only bought this app to monitor my custom program running on a custom port. So while it looks prettt and does a little of what I want, I'm not sure it does what it advertises. Also, how do you setup the automatic time checking interval? For that matter, I'm not even sure it does this.

Wonderful app.... Handy to "see" if the connection that I have is able to get to public services (ie: OpenDNS & Google)... Plus the feature to autoscan is a brilliant idea. Looking forward to future versions that have added features.

An Excellent Network Tool. I can't say enough about this utility. It provides great information about the network and its services. Recommended for your mobile network toolkit.

The App Does Not Work. The app doesn’t meet its purpose as far as M2 Pro Mac Mini is concerned. Regardless of whether I combine my M2 Pro Mac Mini WiFi local IP address with its corresponding MAC address, or its Ethernet local IP address with its corresponding MAC address, my M2 Pro Mac Mini does not wake up from the sleep state. MacOS Ventura 13.2.1 built-in Firewall is turned off, as well as is the FileVault and Lockdown Mode, and I don’t have any third-party antivirus piece of software installed, so, as far as I know, there is nothing that could block the Magic Packet from making through. Not through Net Status, but I have used the Wake-on-LAN function with my previous Windows PC and my current wireless router without an active Firewall before, and so I know that Wake-on-LAN should work. Why it doesn’t work with my MacOS Ventura 13.2.1 M2 Pro Mac Mini, exposed to all incoming connections, I have no idea.

Nice app. Nice app. Works as advertised. Would be nice to have support for better alerts, a widget, and nonstandard ports.

Great for Network Pros. I love how simple and effective this application is. If the network may be down, I open this up and it will instantly and automatically check multiple internal and external points, giving me great insight into my network status.

Great App on the Status of Network. It allows you a quick view of your network( by scanning you near area), as to what is connected, as well as, the IP addresses of components of the components connected to the network. Overall great app for the price.

Brilliantly done service checking. This tool is great, and surprisingly accurate! I haven't had the opportunity to have a server actually fail while using this app, but I have simulated some failures, and this app picks up on it, and makes it quite obvious what is offline. If you need to monitor servers from the road, or just want to supplement other monitoring packages, this is the way to go.

Good, but needs an alert feature. I was really hoping this app would alert you when it couldn't contact a server, but it doesn't. Some type of alert would be very helpful for this type of utility. Otherwise you have to check the app in order to see if something is down. defeats the purpose in some cases.

Computer consulting. I would first like to state that I am not an affiliate of this company. This company has created a piece of software that has saved my business time and again. I cannot count the times that I've rollover over in the morning clicked on check it and found the server to be down but I was able to recover before the client ever knew the server was down. I honestly do not know the name of this company but thank you for the software you provided at the very low price.

Excellent tool. All I would add is the ability to see history of scan results. Sometimes when the quality of the connection is questionable seeing a history would be very helpful in troubleshooting.

Really useful. This app is great; really handy for getting a quick status of critical network gear. I only wish I could export / sync the lists of checked equipment to other devices (between iPad / iPhone), and share with other admins.

A must for network technicians. A very good app for people who deal with networks and related issues. It works well with sister app Scany. Scany finds all nodes and Net Status keeps an eye on them. My wish list items would be an update for iPad, and I wish it was a little smarter in cases where clients change ip addresses.

Perfect Perfect Perfect !!!. Anyone with more than one remote server is going to be doing a lot of business with this developer. One touch and I can check up on all my girls (Olivia, Martha and Rosa). If you are a gamer and need to check the status of your favorite server(s), this app could not be made any easier to use. If you are a poser, and only want to impress your friends --go get Nice Trace! Its displays a ton of information and your followers will be amazed at the breadth of information at your command. Another great program from the mind of Pavel!

Working well for me. I bought this several months back to be able to do a quick server status check on two website (hosts). It works well enough for me. My one wish is for a GUI option to have dark characters on a light background. That would be easier on my eyes. Otherwise no problems.

Amazing network troubleshooting app. I use this app like crazy to see if my four routers, two desktops, and four laptops are having any network issues. This app allows me to find out if any of the devices are down or even see what services they up and running. I use this app all the time and it's saved me tons of time trying to identify problems. I love this app and am greatful I got it while it was still free. I think the only thing this app still needs is a subnet pinger with the ability to choice the subnet mask, then this app would be perfect.

Great value to me. I'm able to quickly check status on dozens of sites I manage on various servers. It's flexible so I can sort the sites/servers in ways that are logical to me. Never had a problem with it the app. Great value for just a buck. Thanks!

Needs Notifications. Very good product but it is on-demand only right now. Needs functionality to test at intervals (running in background) then set a badge count for failed tests, optionally sound an alarm the first time a test fails since it had worked (to avoid sounding the alarm repeatedly for known failures). Then it would be practical as well as useful. Five stars when these features appear.

This app works beautifully. 5 stars, hands down. I've used this app for over 2 months, waiting to write my review in case I hit any snags or disappointments. I'm happy to report no snags or disappointments. I love the option of adding customized ports to scan. I use this app to check the availability of my clients networks when they call with an issue.

Moved app to my home screen. This application gives me a second way to confirm my monitored hardware is running correctly. It is only one of two apps that are important enough to me to warrant a place on my home screen. You can add custom ports in addition to the included well known ports. I love it!

Clean, Elegant, Handy!. neat user-interface, easy to configure, group management for different networks. diagnosing network problems couldn't be easier than this. however, it would be perfect, if there was an option to automatically scan the network for connected devices.

Incredibly useful!. I have a complex network in a remote area, using several radio links. This app is invaluable in checking the net functionality and troubleshooting occasional failures. I don't know what I would do without it. Highly recommended.

Excellent! Deceptively simple.. This app hides a lot of power behind a fairly simple-looking interface. It has more configurability than I would have thought (and exactly as much as I want), but it's not always easy to find, and too many things have to be manually entered (e.g. service names should be discoverable from entered ports -- IANA has a list online!). I'm not crazy about the devs choosing to use their own display and button style as opposed to standard iPhone system widgets, but it seems to work. Saves space and looks OK. Could use a bit more contrast: green on green is sometimes hard to see. I really wish it could scan the same port for TCP and UDP. Also, parallel scanning would greatly speed things up (more than one host concurrently).

Best server monitoring app!. This app works great for monitoring server/network services. Let's you easily add custom ports to look for and auto scans servers when adding so you can quickly add a group of servers. My only complaint is there is no Check button on the root screen to check all your groups, you have to scan each of your groups individually.

Great App. Works as advertised and the features are very useful. Love being able to define my own services. The only thing I would change is the ability to pick an icon for user-defined services (I.e. from among the ones used by the defaults)

Simple and useful for testing before checking or sending email.. I use the status to save waiting for email to time out. So I run network status to all the locations necessary for an iPod Touch to send email.

Must have for LAN at home. I find this very useful as I am a network engineer. The wake on LAN and the ability to view all machines, organize them in groups, and see all services and ports running is astounding. Much have app for the IT Pro or guru!!

Nice. Using this for a while for the wake on LAN and it's perfect. Lots of the other functions aren't needed for me still good to have them.

Great Functionality. Fits perfectly with my requirement to do ad-hoc checks of various services/ports on various hosts. Not immediately obvious that hosts _can_ be divided into groups. Agree that the interface colours aren't the best for an iOS app, but still readable.

Very useful and complements the suite of tools. Love it. Everything is so accessible and easy to work with!

DHCP weakness. 1. Dynamic addressing can provide a range of IP addresses for your network devices, but attaching a device name to an IP address rather than locking it's association with the MAC can lead to mixups, after DHCP leases expire, and get reassigned. 2. Initially, it would be nice to allow a subnet-wide scan to populate the list of hosts. Even if it is just a subnet scan, or ARP list of visible hosts... A starting point populated by some means, or another would make this app more efficient.

Great app.... The only request I have is for some sort of push/backgrounded notification of when servers are unreachable. Probably not an easy task. Other than that request this is a very clean and well designed app that does it's job very well.

Excellent network tool. I've been using this tool to check on my hosting servers and their services while I am on the road for the past month, very fast and extremely handy. Love the ability to define custom services for those custom port configs.

Highly useful. Outside of building in tight integration with in-server instrumentation software, this and the other line of useful Pavel apps are all pretty much what you need to get a quick overview of your hosts and network. This app specifically is quick, easy to use and gets you what you want quickly: setup is quick and then the nice clean groups and hosts are just as quick in scanning. Integration with Scany is also excellent. Clean, well-designed custom interface means Pavel's ideas of UI are consistently applied everywhere and his insight into the purpose of apps like these proves he is almost certainly an old-school hacker (in the good sense of the word.) Bravo Pavel well done.

Extremely useful app!. This app is perfect for testing ports against my Cisco router access list. The only thing I wish it had was push notifications for when a host goes down/up. Besides that, this app is definitely worth the money! I highly recommend it!

Love - Hate. Absolutely love the app. Absolutely HATE the color choices! How about letting us choose the color? Some of us have color blindness.

As advertised. Great way to check if something is up... I have a list of servers and routers configured and I can see of my branches status' at a glance.

Works well. I use this to monitor the state of the equipment in my observatory. It works quite well, and the developer is very responsive.

Needs iPad Version. The app works great as advertised and I use it every day. But it should take advantage of the iPad's extra real estate.

A 'must have' for an IT toolkit. As an IT manager, I use this app quite a bit to monitor critical enterprise servers. This app is a great way to test your network connection prior to an RDP session.

Director of IT. Over rated! The reviews are from armatures. Who wants to have their phone in hand 24/7 clicking check my servers ?????? Really? What good is that. I expect them to be up and working and have a life outside the office; I only want to know when my immediate attention is required!!! Add to this app and I would pay $$ 4 it!!

Good app, but need custom ports check!. Very good app, very useful. But I think it's good idea to add possibility to check custom ports. For example, I have http fileserver on port 8080 at home, but I can't check it with this app.

Net Status.. This a a great tool to use to troubleshoot your network. I would recommend to users. The refinements and streamline of the app are nice.

Great App!. Net status 1.7 allows me to modify any port, including customized ports, and can be adjusted to support slow connections by adding seconds to each port scan. This app does it all.

Reviewer. Pretty good app. It worked very well to remotely wake up my hp laptop from sleep mode. Now I can use my iPad as big remote control for my laptop.

Time saver. Very quick way to tell "it's not the network". Simple red-light/green-light not only for ICMP, but for application ports as well. Saves gobs of preliminary troubleshooting.

Was good app for standing server.. This app was good enough for me for check out server status. Ping was very useful sometimes on 3G ping was stop. But it's not apps problem but 3Gs time I think. It's good select for this app!!
