It's free. This is a free app so I was not expecting much. The vocab at times is frustrating when you get a word that is the same in English. It would be nice to have more phrases then words as I feel that would be more helpful. But as others have said it is free can't complain much.

Italian. Love this app-would like a little more information on certain words,like people,places and food. I'm not always sure what they are. But am learning much. Thank you

dredsman44. Overall I think it's a good application to start with... A new word everyday is great for increasing your vocabulary! My wife and travel to Italy often and it's amazing how much I've retained just studying on my lunch break everyday,but you must be diligent about learning. Now I'm not saying this my on tool for studying the language but it's a great start at learning a word a day! I recommend it.

Absolutely love this!. I've always wanted to take Italian classes but untill then I'll just use this app. It's an easy, every day tool. Learn a word a day! You gotta get this

Cool!. I'm learning some new Italian vocab for free ^.^ I like the easy flashcard and list setup. There are a few small glitches, such as the voice doesn't work for at least one flashcard. I'd also recommend adding the singular article to nouns so we can learn whether its masculine or feminine. Unlike a lot of the other language apps, this one does not require you to be connected to the internet.

Not Worth It. Even for free I do not recommend. For the asking price of $0.99, I definitely would not purchase. 1) PROMO VERSION - This lite version is really a sample of their expensive $9.99 version. Both versions are overpriced. This should be FREE always and the pro should be no more than $4. 2) ONE WORD DAILY - Not helpful if you want to build vocab. There are better apps that have vocab flashcards grouped by category or an audio phrasebook for better comprehension. 3) UNTRUSTWORTHY - This company has a reputation for errors. I have 2 different apps that have mistakes with gender article concordance, wrong or mispelled words, & non-native translations. 4) BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE - No response to email about correcting errors. Update to fix mistakes seems unlikely.

Word of the day is great. I look forward to seeing the note that i have a new word and learning that new word everyday. I like that it gives you sample sentences

Nice and simple. I like how it let's you hear the word and record your own voice saying the word so you can play it back to see if you are saying correctly.

Review of Italian app. I love this app and have it on a few other devices as well. I studied Italian years ago but this is such a fun way for me to add a new vocabulary word every day! I love the new upgrade which shows you more sentences that can be repeated aloud as well. I don't believe that was an option prior to the upgrade. Having a blast with the app and learning a new word every day! Love it

Does what it says. Gives one word or phrase each day. It may not be the most efficient way to learn a language, but the description is accurate. Existing users: DO NOT Upgrade until the bug is fixed. You will lose your entire word bank.

Needs to have Disclosure on using your data plan. i woke up this morning and there was this message on my phone to update to the full version. Who the heck are they to use my data time without my knowledge. I think that any company that does this SHOULD be made to put their HIDDEN feature in there information so as to give full disclosure of their product. I have deleted this app and will NOT use any of their apps in the future, good or otherwise.

Review of Italian word of the day. I have found this app to be solid and very helpful. I hope to upgrade to the full version soon.

Not bad. 1 word a day is not a bad pace, though more would be better. I'm just getting back into Italian, so this pace is okay for me. I do like the word bank, so i can save all the words that I do get.

The basics.. For years I've wondered, how certain vowels and consonants were pronounced, and now I know. Proper pronunciation and a lot of practice will help. This app has made a difference .

Poor file names. I have installed several of the WordPower Lite applications for different languages. The problem is that on the computer, they are all named "WordPowerLt 1.2.ipa" regardless of the language. When more than one of these applications is installed, then your hard drive will be filled with a bunch of files named ""WordPowerLt 1.2.ipa", ""WordPowerLt 1.2 1.ipa", ""WordPowerLt 1.2 2.ipa" and so on, regardless of the language. Even on the iPhone home screen, all the applications are just named "WordPowerLt". After opening an application and viewing the Info for each application, every one of them is just named ""WordPower Lite V1.2". This is just plain lazy and sloppy. Developers should not get lazy with file names. The name of the file on the hard drive and the name of the application displayed on the iPhone should all be the same as the name that is displayed in iTunes.

Review. When the iPod has hiccup and need to be restore you lose all you collection of words this application need to synchronize with the computer better. Also if it had freases like I see you tomorrow and thinks like that it would be a lot more useful.

Simple and free.. Quite useful, especially since last update. Sometimes word choice is a little odd (too many cognates), but over I'm happy with the app.

Current version has a bug. For some reason my word of the day has been the same for the past few weeks. Also the app locks up on opening.

Job well done!. A job well done. I like the fact that the word is pronounced for you. This way you know your saying it correct.

A word a day.. I like this app because it not only gives you a word; it shows you how to use it in a complete sentence.

Fun app. What a fun way to pick up more Italian!

This is Great!. I play soccer with a group of Italian players every weekend, and they have been teaching me some stuff over the last year, but usually it is a bit crude. Having this application has really let me broaden my vocab list. Being able to review the words during soccer is useful too. Hopefully I will muster up the courage to really seriously dig into Italian and graduate from one word a day to lets say 5 or 10 in the near future.

It's getting there, but slowly. When I first got this app it, Only gave me 6 words! That was 1 word a day. Then words stop coming in. Other programs are free & they give over a 100 words! Please don't waste your money or time. Update... More words started to come in. Voice sample is not always clear & at times speaks incorrect. To make matters worse last update has made the app go black & returns to home screen. Making it completly useless! If you reinstall you lose all the words you collected & have to start over with words you already learned. Then you still even get a black screen at times. Waiting now to see how long before an update is sent to fix issue. Wrote then the other day to let them know. NEW, ok so they have given us another update. Yes it seems to have fixed the issues I have stated. I'm getting to the point where I believe others should try this app now. The company seems to be trying to repair there status with pass reviews. By listening to the all so many issues we have said. So far their on the correct road. If things contiune to keep improving I will be buying the full app.

Good, but has A few issues. I've taken Italian courses several times and in general I think this is a good app. It does need some proofing...as the Alphabet chart is truncated so the the right side is cut off and you cannot read explation for each letter. The accents explanation is riddled with typos where the tried to shoe an accented letter e. it shows up with a keyboard glotch each time -A@, instead of é. Some of the vocabulary words are no brainers as well. They give Italian named food and places which are the same in Italian and English. Why not give generic terms like beach or potatoes, not Amalfi Coast and spaghetti. Otherwise it's free version is a handy tool to learn the basic language, its history and the geography of Italy, with some useful phrases & words. The Record feature is a nice addition to play back your practice pronounciation.

Recording and playback is important. The most helpful thing about this language app is that it allows you to record your voice and play it back, comparing it to the native speaker's. I found this immensely useful and helpful. I could make corrections in my pronunciation. What I thought was coming out of my mouth was actually a little different than I thought. I'm sure a native Italiano would spot that a mile away. This is a free version so it is just a word bank where you can add words every day. Some of the words aren't relevant, but still this app is a must running alongside other apps for learning Italian, wonderful for the price of FREE ninety-nine.

Was good, but not anymore. This app was great until I upgraded and lost my entire word bank and the new word notifications stopped working even though I have it set to let me know. Lost over 6 months of words and now I can't even be notified of a new word for the day. Not good. >(

Unacceptable app. DO NOT download this app!! I did so and then decided I didn't want it and deleted it. Fair enough. But now every day I wake up to a notice that "another word is available in WordPowerLt." Leaving notices active after deletion of an app is UNACCEPTABLE!!! I still haven't been able to figure out how to rid my iPhone of the effects of this app! DO NOT support this type of malware programming!

Best free app for Italian. As the ease of use is great. I would like to see them chafe the way that phrases are deleted as of now there is only one way to do so and that is to erase all, no eat to select one or a few without first starring to favorites. If it weren't for that then it would have received a 4 star. Keep in mind this is a free App. That is well do and I would also like to have the ability to slow down the voice pronunciation maybe break it into smaller pieces like if you were doing it in English instead on a word like collaboration make it ka-lab-er-a-tion

Drains Battery and Sound Quality is Poor. I downloaded this app and others from the same developer, each night at midnight it alerts me that a new version is available. I have turned off the setting in the application but still receive the notice every single night. This drains my battery so that my calls are cut off in the morning. I went into every app and found that only two have a "setting" tab to control the message "New Word Power Lt Available". I will be deleting this and all other apps from this developer since I need my battery to talk to people and not receive messages that cannot be controlled correctly by their apps. I plug in my phone before midnight now to save the battery life. The playback is poor at best, most of the time the sayings are cut off in the middle of a word unless you play the saying or word back more than 6 or 7 times; by that time it is too frustrating to continue onto their other apps.

Unwanted notification. The recent update doesn't allow you to turn off the 'new word' notification, and that sends an annoying text at midnight every night. And, in attempt to get the # in the red bubble on the app icon to go away, I went thru the full word bank to look for the new word - nada. Please fix this. Pretty please?

Brain Trainer. Thanks for the great Italian language app- it helps keep my brain sharp as I recuperate from a major medical condition. It's the best Italian language teaching app I've tried!

Nice!. I like that I can record my voice saying the words. And then the word bank saves them so i can go back daily and study. Needs to be able to chose a category of dailys. Like basic words. Hello, goodbye, time, where is?....

No daily word audio. Have been using this app for several months and advancing in learning new words until the audio stopped playing. Customer support was very helpful but in the end I had to reinstall the app and now at the beginning again repeating words already learned. Despite this problem like the app very much.

BAD upgrade-My word bank was erased!. I have enjoyed this app and have found it efficient though quite stingy on the words. Basically, a new word is "given" to you every day. If you forget to download it, you miss that chance. But I had been quite devoted, downloading almost every day and accruing a large list of words (200 to 300) and then I upgraded-my ENTIRE list vanished overnight. I love some of it's features-but erasing the word bank is a deal breaker.

Wordpowerlt. At first I loved getting a new word each day to learn but once you upgrade it no longer happens. Also the main thing that bugs me are the recorded voices they use. One woman speaks slowly but the two other women speak way to fast. Sometimes they mispronounce the words. It is very difficult to understand. Would recommend finding another app if you want to have this type of learning.

Pretty good ^7^. Tbh I really like this ouo I've decided to take up Italian, because, y'know-- I'm Italian ^^ But the app's amazing I'm always getting notifications about a new word and I get overjoyed :D Grazie~

Cool!. Italian WordPower lite is a great application. Sticking to the WordPower formula, this language version is really something I recommend taking the few seconds to download. For me the most impressive part about the application is the record and play function (itouch users beware, you need an iPhone to take advantage of this). I say that this is great and its free to boot, and some may say it is free and great to boot! Either way this is something to look into.

They do mean "lite". This app is marginally useful. It occasionally reminds me of vocabulary I learned in Italian class and has on five or so occasions over the last year and a half taught me a useful word. However, many of the words that are released to the lite edition are names of places that (unlike some important ones) do not change in Italian. I keep it around more because of inertia than because it's actually worth having. After a major update failure killed its usability for almost a month (but fixed the again-broken Notifications, much to my amusement), the new update begs you to review the app. Hopefully this will teach them not to ask for things they shouldn't want.

Cool!! . I'm going to Italy in the summer so I thought this was the perfect oppeetunity. IT WAS!  this is a good app only when it says u can record your voice (laughs) that's funny cause u CANT! For first time speakers ( like me) this is the perfect app

Rating. I always enjoy working with the app and it gives me a great advantage in the learning process. Plus I'm living in Italian (Tuscany) now and trying to communicate....Word power is a great help....maybe you have some suggestions

Exactly what it sounds like and useful. This app is great- one word/day and the tools like flashcard and record are great. You can also turn off the notifications if you want (under settings).

Good application.(V2.1.1). Does what it says. If you are looking for simple word-a-day vocabulary, this is for you. I have not had the problems of the other reviewers; however, a caveat regarding updating: Make sure you back up your vocabulary lists, as after updating another language program, I found it had DELETED an entire year's worth of words... Now I'm more careful. I will be updating soon, and will rate again after.

Great App. I like this App because it's basic and not too complicated for beginners. I'm an American living in Italy for a few years and this is a great start.

Not bad, pretty fun!. This app isn't too bad. It does as it says and its pretty nifty. Do not download this app expecting to be perfectly fluent in Italian in a year. It doesn't teach sentence structure or the gender of certain words which are vital to learning a language but this app will give you a good push in the right direction. Plus it's fun!

More for fun than for learning. I enjoy it. Has had a few bugs that they have fixed. Makes me angry if the word is something like "email". But it's fun to see what the word is each day and use it all day long. Besides, it's free so can't complain much. Have no interest in buying the full version.

Record. I like your program. I do it on my IPhone 4sG. Sometimes the record feature will record my pronunciation and sometimes just background , like my TV . The record button is very unstable and turns off before you can say your word. The recorder just keeps malfunctioning . To bad, it is needed to practice. You should really address this problem . I would like to purchase your full program but will not until this issue is fixed .

Sample Sentences. One of my favorite features was Word of the Day with the Sample Sentences. Why was this feature removed or reduced?

Awesome Vocabulary Learning Tool (revised). (Revision based on April 2015 update) This app used to work great. Then the update in April 2015 came. Now my daily words do not come over, even when I have a notification of a new word, the app keeps requiring additional downloads for multimedia files and it just appears glitchy. Hope the fix it soon. I really enjoy this app as a vocabulary building tool. I love the flashcards; and the ability to repeat daily the previously learned words helps lock them into memory. The only reason this app did not get a 5-star rating is the flashcard option for random order causes the app to crash. They tell me they are working on the fix.

Interestingly soft. My kids are very motivated to learn a new language via Ipod touch now. The max volume is still too soft. I have iChinese, it's very loud & clear. Good stuff!

Italian Lite. Being able to access the lesson so easily at any time any place. I'm loving it! So much easier than having to set aside time at the PC. I find so many free moments to run through the phrases.

Recording could improve.... I like the idea of getting a word a day. Recording your own attempt to repeat the word is great too, but the recording can be hit and miss, often not catching the whole word or phrase, which can be frustrating.

Still lame. Downloaded during the week, only had one word on it, we were sent another word but you can't get a feel for how good the app could be. Will be deleting it.

Love it ... but ..... I love this app but everytime there is an update to the app the app crashes and won't run and the only way to make it work is to delete it off the phone and redownload it, thereby losing all the words thus far accumulated. I have experienced this three times! Last time it messed up after updating the iPhone. I had hundreds of words! All gone!! What gives?!?!?

Useless and worthless.. I did everything what they say about opening a new account twice, but still I can't get in. It says that that user name and email already exists and nothing here is for free for sure.

Learn Italian. Was fun until the sound stopped working. Which renders app almost useless. Tried to reinstall to no avail. No sound for pronunciation! Too bad it was a grate app until then.

No Audio. The recent upgrade took away the audio. What's the point if I can't hear how to pronounce the words properly.

Something's Wrong. For at least the last two weeks the word of the day does not provide audio.

Great way to practice in your spare time. As a beginner I need to practice as often as I can. This app gives me easy access so I can learn no matter where I am.

Don't bother. Huge download but most content inaccessible. The full app has the same issue so don't waste money and time on that one either.

App does not work. I downloaded the app and I never had any sound. I deleted it right away.

Basic too limited. The app might be great but the Basic just doesn't work well. Flash cards don't work as well as on other intro apps. Just doesn't equal other similar intro apps.

Multo bene.. I look at the word-of-the-day almost every day. It pronounces it, puts it in sentences, and even lets me say it and play it back. Nice app.

Rubbish free app. Free app only comes with one word and no audio. You have to buy the full version. Why put this "free" app when its only going to give you one word?

Awful. The main thing you see is a pop-up to upgrade. Another one-phrase-at-a-time of their choosing. No way to choose...just look at it and weep. With some expanded vocabulary and phrases, I think more upgrades would be requested.

Update deleted my data. Sorry to say that I failed to check the reviews before I downloaded the update, so I lost 6 months of vocabulary in my word bank. Plus, now I get the same word/phrase for three days in a row. So, ciao to this app...I just deleted it.
