2 much needed updates suggestion!. I absolutely love the Apple Watch app for tracking all my workouts. There are 2 things that bug me though. 1. You can not control the music from the app itself. Apple updated their fitness tracking app to where you just swipe left and all the music controls are there. This makes it much easier to lower volume on the headphones and change tracks without having to push buttons and going to the now playing app. 2. After using this app for a very long time, I would like to know, how often does the app track the heart rate? The best cardio that I get is from using a jump rope in between all my sets of lifting weights. It’s a bummer when I do a good job to raise my heart rate real high, then look down at the watch and the app says I’m at 96BPM instead of the 155+BPM. The workaround that I found is to leave Apples heart rate tracker app open in the background, so immediately after jumping rope, I switch to that app and click on the heart to get the updated heart rate, then I’ll go back to map my run, and it’ll be updated their too. Other than that I love how well it tracks my runs and weight lifting. I’m guessing the jump roping in between sets it something that you guys haven’t taken into consideration when tracking upper body workouts. Thanks for an awesome app!

This app blows. I’ve been using the Under Armor Record app for years to track my runs. It appears this app is no longer supported as it crashes upon opening every time now. I figured I could switch to this app seamlessly and continue as normal. You would think an app owned by the same company would work the same way. Wrong! Firstly, the robot voice is AWFUL. It takes so long for the robotic voice to announce the distance and duration. The voice on the other app was much more natural. Secondly, the GPS is wrong. The route I’ve been running for 6 months suddenly got shorter once I started using this app. And lastly, my biggest gripe... I always listen to podcasts when I run, but for some reason it’s nearly impossible to figure out how to make the announcements play properly. Sometimes it works, sometimes it’s just silence, sometimes it starts playing other music. Sometimes it works at the beginning of my run, but then stops half way through. This is infuriating. I constantly need to stop in the middle of my run to restart the podcast or check what my time and duration is. What a complete joke. Every time I’ve used this app, I’ve ended my run frustrated and annoyed. Im not someone who has issues with technology. This app is trash. Bring back the record app!!

I’ve loved t for long but it’s super annoying lately. I’ve used it for a long time. I’ve train for my last half marathon with it. It’s been doing a great job until just recently. Over the summer I had syncing problems just like others but this seems to have been fixed. Now on the other hand, my every workout gets doubled up. Every run, strength, yoga or what else shows on my dashboard TWICE, likely taking up the storage and messing up with my calculations of the time I have actually worked out or the miles I ran. I have tried manually deleting the fake logs but I honestly don’t feel like doing it every single time and I forget. Especially since I often log more than one or two workouts in a day. It used to be my top work out app but I have started looking at Garmin’s and I’ll probably be transitioning to their more accurate logging.

I used to love this app but now it won’t work for inside/treadmill runs. I have used this app for many years. I was always a fan, but now it won’t update distance for challenges if you run inside or on the treadmill. I have submitted 3 support tickets just since January 1st. I live in Wisconsin, it’s almost impossible to do a gps verified workout in the winter and I really wanted to beat you vs the year this year, but no, looks like that won’t be happening even though the official rules always say inside/treadmill runs are counted. I do my run, update the distance and save and I check back even the next day and no update distance on the challenge. The number of workouts updates but the distance will not sync until I contact support. My phone is up to date, my app is up to date. What am I supposed to do contact support multiple times a week?! I’m starting to look for a new tracker unless this gets permanently fixed. Sad. :(

Sync problems - never ending. I like the app, seems to track miles and pace well. I use the app on my iWatch 4. I keep running into problems syncing activities. I currently have two activities for:over a month ago that keep trying to sync, but I continue to get “not synced” messages. More recently, I have activities that have synced, I can see the activities on my iPhone XR and on the web site, but the activities continue to remain on my watch and keep trying to resync. This is getting a bit frustrating, I never get the “all workouts synced” any more. Furthermore, I have been trying for over one year to get an answer as to why my older workouts recorded on a Suunto watch under their MovesCount app/software can’t be transferred to my UA Map My Run Account. I get the “we are updating our software and you should soon be able to do this” answer .... over and over and over again. Not earth-shattering, but definitely frustrating. I am a MVP member, but not feeling it so much :-(

Good, but several problems with support. Update - continued instability with the system and apps. Now missing feeds. Thinks I’m not an MVP member. Notes to support get vague apologies and indefinite promises. If you’re going to operate complex software and online systems, you have to realize you’re not just making shoes and. Lot he’s anymore and step up with the resources to properly support and operate the system. Getting really frustrating. Original: Generally, the app is among the better run tracking apps — not a high bar — but there are a number of problems that have been going on long enough to rate a low review for poor support. First, sync with Apple Watch app when starting a run on the phone doesn’t sync well or at all. Takes several minutes for phone to register the phone is tracking a run, then is constantly behind so must look at the phone — distracting — to get actual stats. Slow to pick up heart rate from watch. Will begin tracking several minutes to near end of run. This has been reported to support months ago, response was it’s a known problem and to just track runs on the watch. Poor response — maybe if it’s a known problem, fix it? Also, training programs are better than some, but still offer limited customization. Difficult for someone trying to get back into running after an extended forced break. Fix it, and I’ll provide a better review.

Needs a CITY run function. Decent app overall, but I use it almost exclusively for running in the city. It doesn’t seem to have a good way of filtering data taken while I’m stopped at traffic lights. As far as I can tell, it averages my being stopped at lights into metrics like foot strike angle (0 degrees) and cadence. Being stopped of course helps me catch my breath, so it makes sense to average it into pace data, but the app seems to treat stopped time identically to running time for metrics for which it doesn’t make sense to do so. As a result, this subset of the metrics is less useful to me, as I have to guess what the values would be sans stopped data. There are a variety of kinds of workouts to choose from, and even different kinds of runs, so I suggest adding a “city run” option that addresses the peculiarities of running downtown into its filtering. P.S. I also don’t like that it sends me emails saying that I only have 25% of the miles left on my shoes — per metrics it claims that I set. I never set any such metrics! They just want me to buy new Under Armour shoes. Why not be honest and say it’s coming from their own recommendation for how many miles to run in the shoes? The UA shoes I have are still in great shape — in fact, a testament to UA, the owner of the app — and I don’t appreciate the dishonest marketing tactics. And anyway, isn’t all my data enough compensation for the app being free? (;

Can’t replace Endomondo :(. I used Endomondo for years and loved it. It was a seamless experience, clean, and not overwhelming with ads. After years of loyalty they are sunsetting endo and moving everyone to map my run. After 2 runs with MMR - I’m out. The interface is so cluttered and while you are running it will just show calories which isn’t what I’m here for. Also why is the “me” tab the LAST tab when you open the app? I’m not here to “explore” other people, I’m here for me. After updating the app today it glitched and stopped recording in the middle of my run. I only noticed it when I stopped to check why it hadn’t called out the 2 mile mark. So after all my work today the only time I can rely on is the first mile. Very frustrating especially if you’re training! That’s a whole day of data I have to throw out. It also was not accurate on the gps and showed imaginary deviances on my route. It seems like they switched everyone over before this app was really ready. RIP Endomondo. We had a good run - literally.

What happened?!. I have noticed since the most recent update that something must have happened to this app. Wondering if a rep from the company would read this and get back to me? Have used this app for a year + and most recently for training for my half marathon for the past few months. So so disappointed as the last couple days when I tried to use it it pauses itself and I don’t know it. Wasn’t able to track a 10 mile run with numerous attempts of restarting the app and had to guess at my distance which is so so heartbreaking after all of this training. Also the app was already going when I launched it the other day? And it paused itself again and I closed it out, but all the sudden about 20 minutes later it started reading out my stats. Which was only five seconds because that’s when it had paused itself the last time I had tried to use it. Today when I tried it it didn’t even display numbers for the time or distance, it just showed dashes. I updated again this morning and I also deleted the app and then re-downloaded but no change. I’m so disappointed, and I was counting on using it for the half marathon which is in six days now. Help! I do see that option to get help with the app, but I would still like to reach out this way as well.

Inaccurate. I’ve used Map My Run prior to it being bought by Under Armour. This application used to be accurate, but after one of the last updates it threw off the accuracy by about 0.1 miles which is pretty significant. To confirm this, I used three other online mapping apps (one of which was Google), my old Garmin watch, and my vehicle’s odometer. After confirming the discrepancy, I reach out to their support team with my results. Their response was very generic, and did not address what I actually said in my email. Regardless, I follow the iOS steps I was provided as a resolution and it didn’t change anything. As a result, I deleted the app today and will start using my old Garmin watch again until I can save up for a new one. I would recommend everyone steer clear, especially those of you who are training for an event. **Update** They responded to my review and gave me the exact same response I was given initially. Still deleted the app. Poor, generic, customer service. Advice: read the issues and don’t sound like a robot and provide resolutions specific to scenarios

Apple watch app frustration. I do really like this app and used it all the time before the recent update but with the new face in the update I don’t think I’ll keep using this app. I liked the more simplistic chart look before. Regardless, a look is something I thought I could get over but what I can’t get over is that I’ve had constant frustration with the watch app since the update. It glitches like crazy and isn’t recording my runs properly. It’s infuriating really. During runs the app will just stop working and shut down then the rest of my watch basically freezes. I’ll give it to UA that I probably need a new watch within the next year cause it’s gotten slower in general but the MMR app was never this bad in the previous version. Very annoyed. Honestly just make sure you do planting of testing and internal trials before rolling out a new version! I’ve downloaded Strava and it’s not giving me any problems so I guess I’ll start using that now…

Lacking in areas that could be easily repaired.. I gave this 2 stars because I like the friend aspect of cheering people on and notifications. However, it is extremely lacking. GPS tends to be way off, giving me much faster splits than I should have. I’ve muscled through that issue, knowing that generally on race day, I end up with a similar time to my splits here, but only because race day is typically more push than training. But, the incompatibility with the Apple Watch (even though they advertise Apple Watch compatibility) is the reason I plan to delete this app and move on to something different. I don’t want to have to take my phone with me to record my workouts when I can do EVERYTHING else with my watch. I also find it quite upsetting that the Apple Watch isn’t on their list of heart rate monitors to chose from. I feel lied to and frustrated. If I find these issues are remedied, I may come back and give map my run a try again. Until then, I’m moving on.

Much improved. This app suddenly got better a few days ago. I like to keep track of my running mileage and pace. It helps motivate me since I've aged (now 74) and all 12 of my running buddies have given it up so I'm mostly running alone. Also I moved across town recently and the app gives me a map and keeps track of my distance so I can explore and go in a different direction every day. The best recent change is that it stops when I stop. I'm so compulsive that I frequently would pause the app while waiting for a red light or to stretch a tight tendon but I'm also forgetful when the endorphins are working and I would forget to restart the tracking. This feature seems very reliable. Now even if I get home at the end of a run and forget to turn it off it patiently waits without racking up more time. I don't know how many runs it will store. My previous app was not only twitchy and unreliable but it would suddenly lose my old runs. I would like an option to store old data in the cloud.

What happened to this once great app?!?. I have been a MMR user since 2013. I paid the extra for the “Plus” version only to see that discontinued. I let that slide because the app was accurate and reliable. Well, unfortunately, both of those adjectives are no longer applicable. The last year has not been good. Updates have been fraught with bugs, glitches, crashes, and inaccuracies. In the past two weeks alone challenges have failed to update, pictures unable to load, comments/likes on friends workouts not taking, mileage short, and Apple Watch slow to push to the app. I have invested in the MVP version multiple times for the extra features and to avoid ads. My subscription runs through May. As much as it pains me, I am leaving after 6 years, 1,174 workouts, 7,941 miles, and 869k calories. Congrats on the partnership with Samsung and leaving Apple users in squalor.

Good but the coaching voice kills my runs. Use this app while doing various cardio to log my miles and keep progress. Typically that’s while on the treadmill watching something or while listening to music outside. I’ve go through setting after setting to try and turn off the coach’s voice that alerts you to track your cadence. It’s unbearable especially on long jogs where your cadence will fluctuate (the coaching voice alerts you when in the target zone and immediately once you left it then again when you hit it etc). At a given time on a run you could get a solid 40 seconds of in “the target zone” (8 seconds later) “2 off the target zone” (9 seconds later ) “yesss you are now in the target zone” Ive turned off all other voice commands but this one stays on and if there’s a way to turn it off then it’s not apparent. Would give this app 5 stars but this issue has become unbearable

3 stars. I’d give it 5 stars but there’s two things that annoy the everlasting daylights outta me. For starters, the time you actually run is different than what the app tells you. To be clear with that, I’ll tell you what I mean. I just ran a mile and a half, and when I was at the 1 mile mark, I pulled my phone out to see that in-app, it said 7:36 (the actual time). But when the voice came on to tell me my time, it said 1 mile in 7:40. The other thing that really annoys me is the amount of calories the app tells you that you burned. When you pause the run, it gives you a certain amount of calories you burned, but when you finish the run in app, it immediately lowers that number. I’ll use my run today as an example again. When I pushed pause on the run, it said I burned 289 calories. When I stopped the run and saved it, the app said I burned 255 calories. So not sure which one to believe.

App crashing after every mile. I have used this app for a few years and absolutely loved it, never had problems until the last couple months. Every time I go for a run..it seems at about a mile the app crashes. If I reboot it, and start over....same thing happens. I have to keep checking my phone as I’m running to see when the app closes and catch it as fast as I can to keep my data as close as possible and not risk running too long without it. It is seriously infuriating. It’s synced with my Apple Music and I have a theory they're correlated somehow in messing something up because when I also go to shuffle songs on my Apple Music, shortly after the map my run app closes. I’ve never experienced this before until now and I’m tempted to get rid of the app forever. But I have too much history I don’t want to lose so I’m just waiting, hoping it will fix itself. So annoying

Doesn’t work. I am very disappointed with this new update. I have been training for my half marathon for months now and never had a problem with this app. All of a sudden since I updated the app, I started running and it started not giving the correct mileage. Something is wrong with the GPS and it says I would run 1.5 miles when in reality I really only ran .5 miles. Something has gone wrong with the GPS on this app because of the update. Also when I went to launch the app and tried again the other day I noticed that the app was already going and it was spewing out numbers in which I wasn’t even running and didn’t even have the app open yet. Very disappointed. Because of this I am switching back to the ASICS Runkeeper app as it has always been very reliable. The only reason why I download this app and tried it was because I liked some of the features that you guys had that Runkeeper didn’t. But now I know that this application is not reliable and I highly recommend if anybody is wanting to download this app not to as it will not give you the correct distance or time.

Too many bugs, runs get deleted or changed. I’m writing this review based mainly on my experience with the MVP plan (upgrade). I got the upgrade so that I could have access to the training plans. Unfortunately, this app has deleted runs in my plan, or has changed data from runs after the fact. For example, my plan will guide me through a tempo interval run, but afterwards changes it to an “easy run” and I lose all my data for the intervals. This has been happening at least once a week. I’ve contacted support several times about this issue and I don’t get a response every time. I’ve gotten two responses. The first of these told me to try the usual first fixes, deleting and redownloading the app, etc. When I contacted them again and told them it’s still not working properly and I’d like to cancel my subscription and seek a refund, they didn’t try to address the problem any further…just told me to contact Apple about my subscription since I did the in app purchase through them. I’ve tried this MVP plan once before, a couple of years ago, and had similar glitchy issues. I figured I’d give it another try, only to find that they still haven’t fixed these issues. I gave it two stars only because the gps is accurate and when you run without the training plan it does give you an accurate time/pace. The voice prompts and data are helpful/informative. But other apps do these things as well.

This app makes my Apple Watch worthless. I’ve been using this app for many years. I even bought an Apple Watch as a companion to this app for running, biking, and walking the dog. I like that it communicates with myfitnesspal But here’s the rub. When this app is installed on my Apple Watch, it starts itself, runs in the background, and kills my watch battery before the end of the work day. A watch that does before the end of your work day is not very useful. I have to go I. To the phone and kill the app, then kill the app on the watch, and even by then it seems the Watch has opened the app on the phone again already. I spend 10 minutes fussing with it when I notice it’s doing that just so that I can make sure my watch battery won’t be drained in 6 hours. It’s fine when I remove this app. It’s even fine some of the time when I have the app on. I don’t run with my Apple Watch anymore because of this app. It’s pretty annoying. I’ve talked to support about it and they basically shrugged me off and said they’ve never heard of anyone else having that problem so it must be me. It’s a great app if they can fix that glitch, but until then, I can’t use it with my Apple Watch, which I bought specifically to use with this app.

Great but some notes... also is free which is awesome. I like this app and have found it quite useful in my conquest into getting fit. I like how it is versatile and allows for other uses such as I use it to track my outdoor roller skating sessions. I quite love the design and the features that allows you to make posts to people in your area, but I have some ideas and requests for future improvements on the app. First of all I think you should be able to impute your own calorie data for a more accurately calculate calories burned. Second I think being able to plan routes in advance then have it give you directions as you are going to stay in your wanted miles and set a pace and therefore giving you a time guess on how long your route will take. The other thing that would be nice is while planning a run you can put reminders to stop or pay attention at certain points. Other than just a few ideas I like this app and recommend a good free running app.

Great running app with a few quirks. Really like this app for an Apple Watch when compared to other popular running apps (Nike Run Club) with the route benefits, especially being able to save/bookmark routes and create your own routes on the website and syncing them to your phone (#1 when it comes to organizing routes). Social feature is better as well being able to share and see route specifics with friends versus just mileage as in NRC. However, the auto-pause after 30 seconds is a little too long when trying to get an accurate pace read (vs almost instantaneously with NRC). As well would be nice to be able to select a route from a list of bookmarked routes from the watch and be able to toggle the auto-pause from your watch. Otherwise, this app is great, especially if running with your phone.

Please bring back mirroring of phone!!. I have used MapMyRun/Fitness since 2012. I have trained for triathlons, half marathons, and marathons with this app. I have loved it. Love the challenges, etc. I loved it even more when I got the Apple Watch and was able to have my heart rate tracked and pause my workouts from my wrist. I was even initially excited about the prospect of not having to have my phone (mainly to use the app on open water swims). I take back my excitement. I have never used my watch to listen to music (skips too much) and I want my phone with me on runs for emergency purposes anyway. With the recent update that made phone-less use of the app possible, I now don’t like the app at all. If I start my run on the watch to get heart rate and be able to pause, I don’t get the coaching and distance updates. If I start the app on my phone, I can’t pause the app on my watch, no heart rate tracking, no skipping of playlist songs from the watch - now I am back to getting out my phone to do all this. Please please please bring back mirroring of the phone - make it an option so those of us who want it can use it! Otherwise I may not use the app much anymore : /

This is cool but so awkward to follow!!. I’m a baby runner going for my first half!! The “couch to” apps gave me my start, so I’m used to a really simple interface and thought I would upgrade with the UA app (I chose the subscription so I could access the half trainer). Why does it only record my runs if I do it “on the day??” 😂 so confusing!! I’m a nurse on a mixed schedule and I need to be able to just do it on demand and not have to backlog anything. I was also hoping the mini workouts would be cool to do but they don’t include timers/intervals (I prefer HIIT’s style, much more intuitive!!) It’s a separate workout if you run on a treadmill, and the app is not responsive to strides. I do like the pacing feature and the maps o’course!! I was expecting a little more though for the subscription though. I’m mostly using the timeline app to break the intervals down running wise, halfway wanna just take down the workouts and repeat a week if I’m lagging.

Love this app. I’ve been using this app on and off for over 10 years and I love it! It’s taken me through 4 half marathons. It’s compatible with my Apple Watch and makes it easy to change tracks on my watch while in the app on my watch and running. I have friends I connect with and it has a user friendly activity feed where you can scroll and rapidly view distance/time/pace of what you and your friends have run during the week. I love that you can add pictures to the feed. Seeing your friends activity inspires you to run and it’s great if you have similar goals with those on your feed. And it’s great even if not. It’s fun. Some suggestions for the app: When I leave a comment on someone’s run it notifies them to view it, however it does not notify me back if they responded to the comment. If I was wondering if they responded on the app then I would have to pick through and find where I commented to see if they responded. Secondly, when I initiate the app through my phone there’s a delay in my MapMyRun app on my Apple Watch to pick up that I’ve started a workout already (not sure if this is MapmyRun’s problem or not). If I initiate the workout on my Apple Watch it does not communicate the splits through my Beats headphones (probably because they are synced to my phone, not my watch?). Again, that may not be the apps responsibility. But just some things I’ve noted. Overall a great app to pair with running training.

Not super reliable. Started out for my run ad where I am I can only ho out straight and back straight and because I am just getting back into running after about a year and a half I am trying to take it slow. I was alerted that I had gone 1.3 miles, a bit weird but not too bad but as I kept running I got to a point where I thought it was odd I hadn’t gotten a 2 mile update (as far as I was planning on going) so I check and I am at 1.99 (thinking I had just misjudged my distance as it had been a while since I last ran I went to the next telephone pole, then the next then the next, still at 1.99 at this point I was a bit mad but kept going then it updated and I was at 3.15 miles away, with the sun setting. This has happened before but I just played it up to being in the woods even though I had cell service, this time I am by the water with cell service and near business.

Syncing is Sad. I downloaded this app because I loved all of the stats and features it offered that Runkeeper and Nike+ do not. I was even excited to pay for the premium account, but at this point it looks like my best option is to just delete the app. It takes up to 24 hours for the app on my Apple Watch to sync my activity to my iPhone app or the website. I contacted MapMyRun for help and was given a response about opening both apps at the same time and to be patient (which felt a lot like they were blaming me for their problem), it should sync thereafter. I can wait 15 to 30 minutes, but 24 hours is ridiculous. In addition, during today’s run, the distance and pace were way off. I am so disappointed. This app has so much potential, I just wish it worked the way it is intended. *Update...I have downloaded the new update that was supposed to fix this problem. It’s been 12 hours since my last workout and it still has not synced from my watch to my phone. I tried to respond to the developers response below and every time I try to reply, I am brought back to my log in page and them my Map My Run page. No access to connect to support. Same thing happens when I try to access support from my page. This is ridiculous.

Great App. I’ve been looking for a running tracker for a long time and I’ve been using the Nike Run app for years but switched over to MapMyRun and been loving it. I use MapMyRun as my primary running tracker now. One thing I would like to add but when you stop the app to answer a call or take a quick break during a run. It’d be nice if when you hit Pause the app would let me know it’s been paused like “Pause” all it does is a vibrate or nothing. Even when you hit resume it’d be nice if it said “resuming run” I know the Nike Run did it. It was nice ;) not sure if it’s because I’m using the Free app and have not upgraded yet. Other than that I enjoy this app very much. Even though I’ve been using the free version I still see all the analysis I want from my runs. Maybe I’ll upgrade soon. Thanks!

Can’t connect to more than one pair of shoes. I have two pairs of UA running shoes but the app only connects to one. When I had one pair only, the app connected just fine. When I introduced a new pair, the app connected to the new pair just fine but now doesn’t connect to the first pair that i still have. I like to alternate running shoes but this app, for me, doesn’t allow it. I follow all the steps suggested in the app for troubleshooting and it still doesn’t work. When I contact support, what do they do? They just send me the same generic instructions that I followed in the app for troubleshooting. Support never helped me resolve the issue, but just provide generic information. They don’t really care about customers is the way I feel. I will be retiring both shoes and returning to Nike as a customer. I loved Nike shoes but wanted to give UA a shot but I am severely disappointed with the app and shoes not connecting as advertised. I am only one customer so I’m not going to make a difference in UA’s bottom line but I urge others who’ve experienced the same issues to run far away from UA and their faulty products not working seamlessly as advertised.

Apple Watch Experience is now Horrible. Not sure why you changed how the Apple Watch worked with the app, but now it is horrible. I used to be able to open the app on my phone, slide it into my arm band, and do everything else from my watch. Now I have to start and pause from my phone, and just use my watch to keep up with distance, and pace. If I start from my watch then I don’t get my updates in my headphones. If I start from my phone then I can’t pause my run from my watch without starting a new workout.. so now I basically have to hold my phone while running and do everything off of it... what’s the point of the watch app if I have to do this? Please go back to the way it used to be, and let the watch mirror the phone. Based off a quick scroll through the reviews I’m not the only one asking for this. At this point it has become so frustrating that I would switch to a new app if it gave me back my functionally, but then I will lose years of my data.....

Used to be better. I have used this app for a few years now and have always really liked it until late summer early fall when you removed the music component of the app. I always listen to music when I run and now I have to listen through a different app and that means having more things running on your phone to kill battery life. You also changed the mileage tracking. I have always had it set to talk every 1/4 mile and now it is off. It talks at either .2 or .3 then maybe again at .5 but not always and then again at .8 instead of .75 even though in the settings it says .25, .5, 1 and so on. Please readjust your app to the way it was when everyone loved it compared to how it is now and only being ok.

So disappointed. I used to use this app all the time but something happened and it’s been too long like this that I finally deleted it today. I deleted this app for two reasons: the GPS and sync with Apple Watch. The gps signal was strong where I live ( Southern/Central California). On runs, every two minute update as to pace, distance were completely off which really bothered me on my runs. One two minute update it said I was at 23 minute pace! And the next was 8:00 and then 14. The pace was 8-9 minute. This continued throughout my runs consistently for two weeks. Next, the Apple Watch sync. Just terrible and frustrating. If I started this app through my watch then it would not give voice updates or coach mode through the phone or ear piece. The start feature on the watch also didn’t show calories/distance or pace. On the watch I could tell the app was on because the only option was “finish” but all the features showed three zero’s. My girlfriend had the same problem. I am moving back to the Nike running app or Strava. I would like to come back to this app but it needs to be fixed soon. There are so many complaints!

Stopped tracking properly. I’ve loved using this app for years but as of the last few months it started tracking improperly. I started noticing the time seemed less than my estimate and the voice mile markers were landing in variable places despite me taking the same route. I began to note exactly when i left and, for example, when i got home today the tracker showed I’d been out for 35 mins when I’d actually been out over an hour. I asked support and they responded with a fairly lengthy list of things to check. After checking them all and changing one, I still experienced the problem but i ignored the instruction to turn off all other apps because i listen to podcasts, radio and/or audible books when I run instead of music (which they said was fine). I also ignored the instruction to not use my power button to turn the screen because the screen flashes on and sometimes I will inadvertently pause my book, etc if the screen is on. My point is that the app is too finicky to work accurately for my taste and I'll be researching other walking/running apps unfortunately. I want to emphasize that I never had these problems until a few months ago.

Not as good as their website for tracking, but I like it. I’ve always been a huge fan of the MapMyRun site (even back before smart phones and mobile apps were ubiquitous) because the website’s ability to map out mileage for distance run training is awesome. It helped a lot back when I trained for marathons. Now that we’re all quarantined for Covid-19, I started running outside again as a means to maintain sanity, and I was pretty psyched to try out this app because I thought it would keep track of the distance for me so I wouldn’t need to spend time online mapping out mileage on the routes I might normally take. I have to say though, so far my experience has been hit or miss - literally. Sometimes the app simply doesn’t save my runs when I’ve finished despite following all of the on-screen prompts to save them. It’s sort of a bummer because I can’t really track my progress on the app. Instead I’ve just been taking screenshots of my run time/distance when I’m done, which is still better than nothing, but sort of a shame because then I don’t get to see how far I’ve run without going back and figuring out the distance traveled myself on their website. Maybe it’s just that I’m using only with my phone and not an Apple Watch and the app isn’t designed for that? It could just be some error I’m making on my end, but then maybe the UX isn’t ideally intuitive. Still, it’s better than nothing and free, so I’ll take it.

Not sure anymore. I have been using this app for at least 2 years. It has had its issues. Failure to connect with my apple watch at times, not able to edit functions once a workout has been started to name a couple. However, this weekend was the worst. Biggest running event of my life and the app fails to connect my apple watch to my phone! First time it happened in months just happens to be on the morning I start 150mi race across MI. Then after reviewing the data after the race I notice gaps in some of the metrics, not to mention that when for some reason the app did decide to pair with my apple watch it stopped again before the race was over. Also, I have noticed during training runs and my event that when you resume tracking your run after hitting the pause track button the voice coach starts repeating whatever metrics you have selected for it to announce during your runs. It sometimes last for a good 20 minutes which really starts to drain your phone or watch. When your trying to track such a large event like I was it does become problematic. I however, will not rule out possible operator error for the connection issue but I never changed any settings in my phone or watch prior to my race.

Very poor stopwatch function. Inaccurate distance measurements.. This app may be OK for the casual athlete, but for a serious runner or other athlete, it has a very poor stopwatch function. So when you try to stop the timer at the moment you end a workout, it can take between 10 to 30 seconds to get it to work. The only button that’s available while you’re in a workout is a pause button unfortunately, and if you press that button, it actually cripples your entire iPhone until you unpause the button. Meaning that you can’t quickly toggle over to your regular stopwatch until you unpause the button in this app. Ludicrous and horrible programming. What genius who designed this app didn’t understand that you need a single button on your screen to start and stop your workout? Second, the distance measurement is highly innaccurate. I have run the same loop multiple times, and the variation in measurement is 5/100 of a mile, which means up to 80 meters off! Terrible. I’m using an iPhone X which has no issues.

Frustrating, not worth it. This app constantly kills/overwrites the data from my Apple Watch. I like using both because I import my watch data into another app. But this one had a fun social aspect with my friends who also run, which I’ll miss. I’m deleting it today because I’m sick of being miles into a run only to realize it has once again killed the Workout app on my watch. Plus, this app is super weird about starting up. If I lock my screen too quickly after hitting start, it doesn’t actually start! I have to let it run for a few seconds before I actually take off! It also doesn’t always shut down even though I killed it, and then it logs phantom workouts that never happened all the while draining my battery. I’ve also noticed that if I stop moving for too long (stop to tie shoe, pet a dog, etc) it assumes I’m done and pauses itself. So miles later I’ll check it only to realize it’s not even logging. I gave it a good try for several months, but today is the last straw. I got into running to lower my blood pressure, but the regular rage with this horrible app is killing me!

Tracking Issues. When I first downloaded this app 4 years ago it tracked my distance really well on uphills, downhills, and straightaways. I really enjoyed it and it made it easy to see how well or not well I was doing on my runs. However, in the last year as they started to make updates for the app the distance it tracks has become more and more inaccurate. It is only accurate when you walk, and when you run it differs based on how fast you run. The faster you run the shorter it tracks you and the farther off your mile times become. The neighborhood I live in is about 3.2 miles, and map my run tracks all 3.2 of those miles when I walk the neighborhood. However, the minute I start running the shorter and shorter the distance becomes, and additionally if you run up or down any sort of hill it causes further inaccuracies. On my latest run it tracked me at 2.5 miles, which is .7 miles short of the actual distance. But, when I walked it right after my run it once again came up with 3.2 miles. I just thought people should know that if you use this app for running purposes to keep in mind that it may be a little to way off depending on how far you run.

Great when it works, but those “updates” throw things off. I am on my third year using this app with the Under Armour HOVR shoes that do their own tracking (have 4 pairs in rotation). Over time, the app has improved. However, the last several “updates” have been horrible, and each one has taken days to correct itself. Each day, I run (or jog with dog) my same neighborhood routes. Just came back from a dog walk that is wildly off, but at least it tracked at all. Yesterday’s dog walk was completely lost. I should have listened to my gut earlier and NOT press “update” this last time, before yesterday’s dog walk. I have also experienced issues with treadmill runs, but I don’t do those often, so I could understand the app being thrown off a bit. That being stated, the negative effects of these “updates” are really piling up. I hope the app corrects itself soon. Then no more “updates” for me. I’m putting quotes around “updates”on purpose, developers, in efforts to spread the eye-rolling and annoyances. Please fix this app, even it means losing bells and whistles.

I’m done with this one. I have used this app for years, when it was just map my run. I’ve tried them all and this is the one I keep using. This last updated killed the app for me. I run a 2 mile loop and it used to be spot on for distance. Now it’s constantly off. 2.1 or 1.8 or even worse. I walk the exact same course and it is consistently measuring a miles way longer than it should. How does distance change when walked compared to running??? I use another app to track distance at the same time and it is spot on. This app no longer tells me heart rate or distance at the mile marks consistently. She tells me the time but for distance it says “distance....silence....miles” heart rate...silence....beats per minute”. Then at the next mile I might get a distance readout but not heart rate. Frustrating. Now I am battling getting it to connect to my Polar hr10. Heart Graph app picks it up just fine, so does iSmooth run. I see it connected in the Bluetooth settings. Why can’t mapmyrun Find it. I want to keep using this app it has all my history in it but life is far too short to deal with buggy crappy updates. Guess it’s iSmooth run, which isn’t that great or the crapshoot of the App Store to find something comparable. Be prepared for disappointment with this one, seems once underarmour took over the quality got lost in rally sprints and the fiscal goals.

Changes with the use of the Apple Watch. I've used map my run for over five years. Have been running the same running paths for much of that time. Ran numerous half and full marathons with it. Always seemed accurate with the race course distance and consistent in the distance of my running paths. About a year ago, map my run significant changed. What used to be a five mile run became a 4.5 mile run (thus my times got much slower). I often use Nike running app too and the distance on there has not changed. What was always 5 miles was still 5 miles. I thought this might be due to me using the Apple Watch with map my run but when I un-synced them and used only my phone, it still said the shorter distance. This stinks for training because I have no clue my real pace. I'm not the only person this has happened to as I've heard in many of my running groups this happening to others. Not sure what the problem is but I might start using Nike instead if this doesn't get fixed. Otherwise I love the map my run app!

Good app but could be better. The goals are set up by miles and time. It also tells you how many minutes it should take to complete the miles. This I love however the voice coach tell you your speed in miles per hour instead of minutes per mile so hard to know when you are meeting your goal. I wish the 2 formats could match. My second issue is I love that I can set up training to prepare for a race but I don’t like that the minimum goal for running seems to be a 12 minute mile. I wish this could be adjusted because I’m at a 14 min mile and it’s frustrating I can’t meet my goal and by they time I’m getting closer to meeting it the minutes per mile is decreasing so I’m constantly behind. If it could be adjusted for slower runners it will be more beneficial assisting in improving your minute per mile. Overall the app does help me stay on a running schedule and I live the interval training even if I can’t stay at the speed it is instructing to run. Lastly the goals are miles and minutes for example run 2.2 miles in 32 minutes. But the voice coach will tell you that you’ve met your goal when you reach 32 minutes even if you haven’t met your mile goal.

Great app, but a couple notes…. I’ve been using Map My Run for a decade now, and in general I love using it as a robust but not overly complicated way to track my running and hiking. I recently decided to clear out most of my older runs, since the data on all but a few is no longer relevant to me. That’s where I realized a couple of shortcomings with MMR. First, it would be good to be able to filter the workout log by distances and/or types of workouts. I was looking for my PRs at various lengths and after ten years there was a lot to scroll through. The second issue is that at some point around 2015, the workouts stopped indicating the full date. This also makes it hard to navigate the log as you have to track how many times you’ve scrolled by “December” workouts. Finally it would be good if there was an option to batch delete selected workouts. I looked for each of these features, so if I missed the obvious solutions, I apologize. Just wanted to share what wasn’t working for me.

Something is wrong after a recent update but this is still a great app.. I used to be able to start my workout on my phone, put my phone in my pocket, hold up my wrist and see that on my Apple Watch the app had already opened and showed my workout already going. The last few weeks this no longer works or only works part of the time. Now I hold my watch up (after starting a workout on my phone) and it does already have the watch app open, but now it only offers me the option to start another workout on my watch. So I start a workout there, and then SOMETIMES it will get in sync with the phone and change the time, and other times it won’t. Then I get home and finish my workout on the phone so that I can write my notes before finalizing it. After which I will notice later that when I hold my watch up there is still a workout going on my watch which I have to finish and delete. These are not issues that were present a few weeks ago. It would be nice to see this rolled back to where the phone and watch properly sync with each other during and after a workout.

A great global app for family and friends. I only started to use this middle of last year when I invited my friends and family (from different part of the globe) to a steps challenge, and with the pandemic and people needed to boost their immune system and at the same time motivate them to walk, run, that was a HIT, and from the steps challenge, we did calories, distance and number of work outs. We also became Under Armour customers, from Nike and Adidas, we found UA shoes very comfortable. So why four stars only? First, because the developers took out the steps challenge. It’s the activity that people of all ages find so motivating. Second, there are so many improvements that programmers can do on the app - like team competition, limiting challenges to certain activities (for example, distance or steps challenge - you can limit the activity to walk, run, treadmill, etc and not all or one), social media enhancements, etc.

Ideas for Awesome Developers. Y’all made a great app that is both practical and visually appealing. Both current challenges encourage me to log on to your app and use it to run. And the features offered with Premium tempt me daily to purchase the yearly subscription. One idea I have is for you to create “community challenges” where a UA coordinator creates a route for runners in a local area to master along with start and end dates for the challenge, and the fastest times receive prizes. An example for my area would be the Greenway that runs along two main roads in my area. I think more challenges would better keep users relevant and talking about your app, especially if the challenges each focused on a specific running aspect mentioned in the app (distance, time, pace). I’m a teen with a high gpa and a passion for running who would love to help you improve the app (and maybe earn some money in the process).

Great!. Been using this app for running since August. The MVP upgrade is well worth it at $30 a year if you are interested in having the app create a plan for you to follow. Whether it is training for a certain distance of training for a certain time it works great. Would highly recommend to anyone. The stats are customizable, it syncs well with heart rate watches and such and the distance, speed and pace measuring is extremely accurate from what I can tell. The app is very heavily branded with Under Armour but if your ok with that it's nothing to keep someone away from it. I personally like Under Armour stuff so I don't mind it. The community is rather large as well and there are always challenges you can sight up for for free. Highly recommended for a free running app and behind the paywall it gets even better!

Needs improvement. I started using my new Apple Watch and, for some bizarre reason, workout apps that work well only with the watch (i.e. leaving the phone at home) are in embarrassingly short supply. I’d use the Apple workout app, which seems to work well, but inexplicably lacks features, such as adding comments to a workout, which I do regularly. So I downloaded Map My Run which gives me all kind of data and features. For the most part, it works well with the watch, with one GLARING exception: average pace listed is not even close to accurate (it shows my average pace much higher than it is). Even stranger, the app lists my split times which look accurate but can’t be added mathematically to equal the average pace. In other words, how can I have an average walk pace of 13:03 min/mile if all my splits are higher than that? Anyway, I signed up for a subscription but will have to cancel if this is not fixed.

Lots of bugs. Sometimes the app chooses to work well and a lot of the time it chooses not to work. I use the app on my iPhone 8 with my Apple Watch. I will launch the app on my phone and sometimes it will sync with the app on my phone so I can see my time and distance but a lot of the time it will not. Also the app will randomly stop recording then will start back up. Today I added an extra half mile to my two mile route (a route I measured numerous times) yet when I got home the app said I didn’t even run 2 miles. Also I’ll finish my work out and save it then somehow I get an update an hour later saying my work out timed out. So instead of having accurate averages so I can track my progress all of my times are messed up because the app will randomly choose to continue running. Looking to switch apps because this app is making tracking my work puts a hassle.

Favorite Running App. I figured that after 3.5 years and 503 miles of using this app, I owed it a review. I run to train for my other sports. I never ran until 3.5 years ago, and my first run was with a friend because I didn't know how to run or pace myself. After that, I started using this app. It's accurate (even when losing cell service for a little while, like when I ran a race that was partially in a parking garage). It has told me what my pace is, so I've been able to gain a natural feel for what a 7, 8, and 9 minute per mile pace is. It has made me feel more comfortable about my running and enabled me to challenge myself and set goals for my pace and distance. While I use other timers (ex. for intervals), I always use this app as well. If there was only one fitness app I could have on my phone, this would be it!

MVP works great.. UPDATE from one star to five! Got a new customer service rep and she sorted it instantly. Now I’ve got my full access I’m happy with the features. Super glitchy, have paid membership on monthly basis and now yearly and still don’t have the upgraded version, support are slow and still haven’t fixed it, over 3 months now of paying money yet still not working. Membership level always stays at basic but when you click the links to upgrade says I have (which I have - money being paid), then just get an error message. Will definitely be going back to one of the other apps that actually works and can give me data.

Brilliant. Having recently moved out of home and been travelling, meaning I can no longer afford a gym membership, this app has helped me keep on track and motivated with my running. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who wants to get into or back into running, it’s the perfect app

Consistently disappointing GPS. I have used MapMyRun for tracking and logging my runs for years - on the same routes, with only occasional GPS glitches, easily corrected by following the suggestions laid out for troubleshooting. Lately however, every run is tracked incorrectly. My runs appear over water, across harbours and along roads I have not run on. This gives incorrect distance, time and pace calculations and renders the app entirely useless. Highly disappointing. I will be buying a proper GPS watch given the ongoing nature of MapMyRun’s inadequacy.

Really annoying. It’s aggravating that when you run 10K+ it collapses your splits into 2K increments. That’s not the data I’m interested in. Also recently ran a half marathon race and MMR glitched all the way through, saying I’d run a km in 30 secs and other insane stuff - when I was relying on it to pace myself. Gonna try Strava after being a long term MMR user. Also constantly prompts you to review the app in the iTunes Store. Well, here we are.

Love it. I love this app... it allows me to look way back at all the runs I’ve done, works perfect when listening to music at the same time and lets me know how far I’ve gone without looking at my phone... I’ve used it for ages and there’s been no problems, definitely recommend.

Sign up. Hello there, Recently I just bought a pair of shoes that link up with this app. I obviously needed to go through the sign up procedure which I did. But then when it said press allow on the next screen after you click a blue button called next it wouldn’t work. Whenever I pressed the button it did not redirect me anywhere and is stuck on that same page. Please patch this because I’m eager to use my shoes with this app. Jake

Keeping track of activities is easy.. Straight forward application, easy to navigate and use.

Great but running plan doesn’t link to watch app. Everything is great except my running plan doesn’t appear in my watch up. This means I either need to take my phone running or manually enter runs into my plan which is annoying

Everything I need. This app is fantastic! It’s free and has all the functions I need. I use it as a fitness journal and can see my progress and where I have been over the years! Highly recommend!

So glitchy.. The app doesn’t record my workouts! It starts so you think it’s fine then get home after doing 10k and it says you did 30 cm. Over it!!!

Great running aide. Better than I thought it was going to be. Alternative to those fancy pants smart watches. It maps your run, saves the track so you know what you have done and can select different routes at different distances you have previously done. It is a bit loaded up with features which clog it up but other people may find them useful. Only thing I am annoyed about is you are required to sign up an account (free) but you can put it to a non-monitored junk email and still use the app; at least that way you don’t receive junk in the inbox.

Great App for competing with friends. As the title says, this is a great app to try and compete with friends. I say try because some of my friends are crazy and are able to log movement everyday. This app also encourages movement, just get out there and log something, walk, jog, run or a workout of any kind. It works so well, enjoy everyone 👊.

Freezes when you hit “start workout”. I’d give this app 5 stars except yet again I have to wait 40 minutes for it to work without freezing when I press “start workout”. Already tried everything else and have determined that it is an issue with the app.

The music option has gone?. Used this for years think it was great 5 starts but now my music options has disappeared?

Love it. Fantastic in tracking kms and duration. Highly motivating for me in pushing my times and distance. Only a small glitch that if you need to pause your run for a short time it doesn’t pause altogether, it changes my average pace dramatically and can hinder me in tracking my training pace. All in all though...👍🏼

Autopause. I’m not happy that autopause has been removed I like to have the option to use it or to not use it depending if I’m walking with my dog or with kids in a pram that have me stopping at times to get things for them. Could you please put it back atleast to give the option to choose to use it or not.

Keeps me motivated. Love this app Great how every kilometer it lets you know your stats which keeps you going and pushes you to continue onwards and furthermore try and beat or at least maintain your speed

Lots of bugs and the plan is a bit too repetitive. I have tried a few running plan apps and this one is ok for the money though the runs are repetitive (I had two 8km runs a week for about 4 weeks straight) and the interval runs are all long intervals no short sprints which is a little disappointing. Also now when I complete a planned run the distances and time goals will change from 8km in 56mins to 2.9km in 20 mins? It’s really weird and annoying. I also wish you could change the settings so your goals wherent like 6.77km or 9.82km they could be 7km or 9km flat same with the times. Also now if I don’t do the run on the planned day and want to do it the next day the run will disappear from my plan. All very annoying when I paid for the membership for the year.

Went from 5 stars to 1 with update. I’ve used MMR for years for running and was always happy with it. It was pretty much perfect until the most recent update. I don’t know what they’ve done but it’s gone from working perfectly to not working properly at all. I use it on an Apple Watch 3. It feels buggy as heck now. Firstly it doesn’t start workout properly. 1km split call outs are inaccurate in distance, splits and time, and the voice fades in and out when it does, and often at the end of workout the screen jams and you can’t finish workout. I’m extremely disappointed and will now have to switch probably to Strava.

Getting tired of the bugs and feature changes. This app has been very buggy over the last few months. Ingestion of GPS data especially. Maybe that is iOS issues knocking into them. The recent update to allow phone free running with Apple Watch is good, BUT (MASSIVE BUT), the run does not seem to sync back to the full app when connected back to the phone (no store and forward), and the update has dropped voice updates even if running with the phone and starting the run from the app. Overall, I have pretty much lost patience with this app, and if it were not for the fact that my runs are being shared to a fundraiser page at the moment I would have already shifted to either Strava or Nike Run.

Good but...... I love the app overall. Good stats, flexibility in writing etc but why won’t it sync straightaway from my Apple Watch app to my phone/database??? It takes 2-3 days sometimes before I can look at my stats unless I bring my phone along (which obviously I don’t want to since I have the Apple Watch)!!!!

Needs an update and restoration of previous functions. UA have stripped the music function away recently. Disappointing. I contacted UA for support twice and still have heard nothing. The app (for me at least) doesn’t tell when the run is starting or pausing and I have a female and male app voice operating together when it should only be one. Lift your game UA. Add On: still not updating this up despite recent updates to Map my Fitness (which won’t connect with HOVR machinas) and My Fitness. The developer reply about the loss of music function was lame and they told me to contact support about the other issues despite me saying I have done this twice and have no response. Update: UA seem to be just stripping the app down more & more. If’s there’s a complication they seem to remove the function rather than repair. Not good for a premium subscriber.

Mapmyrun. Love it! So easy to use, great to do the challenges, I have an old school treadmill so I love to be able to record my treadmill runs. I bought under armour shoes with Bluetooth to use with the app - I’m now on my second pair - I love them too! I have never had a connection issue and even my old ones still connect but the app had told me time to get a new pair after a huge amount of KMs indoors and outdoors! Great excuse to get a new pair! Highly recommend MapMyRun and Under Armour runners.

Consistently tracks wrong, therefore useless. I’m trying to train for a half marathon. Distance and time are important. I paid for premium version of the app but regret it. The app consistently tracks incorrectly, marking each kilometre between 50 and 100 metres short. Over distance, this adds up to render tracking useless. All FAQ advice has been implemented; app still tracking wrong. Would appreciate a refund since product is not performing as required.

Map my Run. Nice free app. Works well, easy to use and allows you to share your workout with friends. All previous data transferred when I got a new phone and reloaded the app.

New Update has ruined the Watch App. Not sure what the point of the new update is, however the watch app no longer functions properly for me when I run. It doesn’t give updates at 1km intervals, repeatedly changes to other apps and only updates the screen when you tap on it making it clunky to use whilst running. Thinking I might have to change to another running app if this doesn’t change

App unstable. MapMyRun can be somewhat unpredictable at times, sometimes won’t start or takes 10 to 20 seconds to start after tapping the start workout button, and the same with ending a workout. App is up to date running on iOS 11. Unsure weather this is a conflict or a bug in the app.

GIMMICKY. I was dubious straight away and confirmed that this App works with any shoe. Right or left for that matter! I even tried with a horse shoe and sure enough it went through the setup from the beginning to the end very smoothly. So I am inclined to believe I have been duped, although the new pair of running shoes I have are fantastic!

Map My Run Feedback. Hi Moving over from Endomondo if Map My Run can have a Endomondo format page - the monthly summaries need to be accessible, and information every kilometre the same as Endomondo. The voice info on map my run goes on for too long and is annoying - once again replicate the Endomondo format. Thanks Justin.

Undependable. All I wanted was something to log my itineraries and speed. Don’t bother at all with this app this app: - ads pop up with a delay so you end up accidentally clicking them when all you want to do is log your run - gps tracking has been buggy a few times. It draws a straight line between my origin and destination, even if I ran on winding paths, therefore miscalculating my distance run and my speed (the only reason I use the app) - it has failed to log two of my workouts because of “connection issues” when I’m connected to strong WiFi and 3G, and my other apps work

Solid. This app tracks your runs well and keeps them in the cloud for free. The few minor gripes I have about it are: - you can't make the app pause the song your listening to while it says your time - you can't default the sharing mode to private

Great app. Good for golf. I like walking on the golf course and fine this app very good to measure the distance. Also when on holidays I use the app to take my city walks and bike rides. Helps to put the photos together for my travel books. Well done

Love Map my run- especially the live map feature. Love my run companion- especially the map feature when running in areas I don’t know well to plot my route back to my car

Going downhill quicker than I can run. This app used to be a daily thing for me but it’s become so buggy. Problem after problem with GPS, syncing with my Apple Watch and Apple Health, and now it’s wildly inaccurate because it won’t track heart rate. Very disappointing. I’ve worked through several support tickets but just when you think it’s working, along comes an update and everything breaks again. I can see many are having the same experience. Going to give up on my MVP and go with Nike Run Club I guess.

Good but.... I want to use the running training program right. Since the Runners World app changed this is pretty much the only app that will generate a personalised program and it's great BUT why oh why are the intervals expressed as time and speed but not distance? So anyway I have to go and run 2 min @ 5:09 min per km now right.... so I do the maths and that's 388 metres. Please just make it a clean 400m and tell me the time AND the speed AND the distance. This is running not algebra.

Unreliability of gps. Having so much trouble with the reliability of the app. What used to be my favourite running app is now frustrating as it won’t accurately track any of my runs. If it isn’t the time, it’s the gps tracking going haywire. Have kept the updates most recent. Super frustrated, esp when training for a marathon. Looks like I might have to move across to Strava 😕

Love this app!. I use it every time i run. It tracks your route, how far you've run, your time and km per minute. It's great motivation to keep running. Best thing for your mental health!

Use as a walk-Ing app. Enjoying having a record of all my walks. It allows for recording of photos taken along the way. Overall an excellent app.

Such a big help. I just got back into running and I must say that this app is the best ever! The challenges, suggestions while running and plans are helping improve myself but also my way of running! Thanks

Great app. Actually enjoying using this heaps, me and my misses have just set up a challenge and it’s so great that you can’t lie on distance or anything because the app tells you the truth, no fudging you’re own data haha

Works well for me!. As a longtime user of Strava, I was at first a little dubious about trialing a new app. Now I no longer use Strava and always use Map My Run app. This app has helped me improve my cadence and in turn improved my running posture. The coaching has helped me adjust my running to minimise injury and recovery time. The app’s ability to connect to my shoes has rewarded me with insightful and informative data that I can use to help me improve! As an individual who loves to run and continue to improve and get that little edge, this app is the best! Thanks UA!

Where have my challenges gone?. I like the app (have IPhone SE), works fine most of the time. I’m doing the 1022km in 2022 challenge and I can’t see the challenge any longer. Today it has been replaced with a page title Challenge Yourself with a couple of links for Friend Challenges and History but there’s no current challenges anywhere (and no history either). Map My Ride is the the same…

Has potential. Why on earth the app settings (what stats I can see) from the app aren’t reflected on the Apple Watch are beyond me. For example, I choose to see current pace, distance and time on the app and it works fine. Unfortunately these settings aren’t reflected on the Apple Watch, rather, I’m stuck with what appears to be the default data/stats. Very annoying. I want to see current pace, not average pace.

Works well. Perfect for tracking progress and to check stats while exercising. Links in nicely with my fitness pal while trying to watch food intake as well.

Very inaccurate. Ive used this for over two weeks now and its not very accurate. Its maps some of my runs straight and none of what I run is straight! Which means I lose distance. The GPS is not great and even though it seems to show that Ive run the correct route it says Ive done alot less distance than what Ive actually done. Im sorry but I wouldnt currently recommend this app. If it was accurate every day, then it would be a great app.

Tracking your runs is what you need to do. To keep yourself accountable and take yourself to the next level.

Incredibly for workouts to show up on your profile. Solid tracking app but sometimes it takes up to 24 hours for my profile to update after a run. I went for a run yesterday afternoon, saved it. It appeared instantly on my feed but when I go to profile it hasn’t been added to my weekly stats yet. Incredibly frustrating when the point of using this app is to instantly track your stats

Intervals. Would like the coach to talk at either distance or time, not just distance. Different motivational voices would be good too. Also a plan to maintain fitness at a certain level not just plans for certain races would be great. Would like to see run broken down in minutes not just distance. Otherwise best running app.

No longer reliable. Have been using it to for years but does not work well with Apple Watch or MyFitnessPal! Connecting across these apps just not happening. Health app does not measure distance from cycling (workout only) on MapMyRun but it does from Strava. What a terrible shame as I might have to change.

OK app. I've been using this app for several years, it provides adequate information for workouts, but also has several glitches that are ironed out with new versions. I have brought compatible items (heart rate monitor etc), but have found that they weren't all they were cracked up to be, lacking support, or just ceased working!! OK, but I wouldn't pay money for it!! The app is predominantly for US use and being that I am in Australia, I cannot get involved with Map my Run competitions. Come on Map my Run go global so we can all share our love of running!!

One of my favourite apps. Love it 🏃🏻‍♀️ My old phone could not run map my run so for a week I was miserable without my favourite app but today ran 14km with my daughter as she is training for her first half marathon with my new phone

Awesome!!. Its simple, easy to use and works perfectly. A perfect app to track my runs and walks

Apple watch Sync. My watch died while recording a workout on i t(I had already saved it but it didnt sync with my phone). Now my workout wont sync with the app on my phone…

This app is incredible. I’ve started using this app a few days ago and it has been giving me motivation to continue running. I love this app and I recommend it to everyone :)

Inconvenienced by app. Sometimes it signs me out of the app and this is very inconvenient

Concerning privacy policy. I had previously used this app and was looking to start using it again until I saw the new Privacy policy and data usage consent. Before I could continue with the app I was asked to consent to their new privacy policy and give consent with how they would use my personal data. If you don’t consent they ask you to delete the app and your profile. If you haven’t read it, you should. I will use a different app that doesn’t need full consent to release my data to other countries.

Can’t change from metric to miles.. Not good because of this.

Watch iOS. For some reason the app doesn’t record the calories when I start from my Apple Watch besides that standard free app

Just works. Used this for many months for 5k-10k runs and it works well. Thank you for this app.

👍🏻👍🏻. Best, most accurate run app out there

Disappointed because…. The app by itself is about the same as others. The problem for me, is the UA shoes with Bluetooth are made for this app. The app has an option for cycling, but registers no cadence and the slowest speed possible. 1 km/hr from the shoes Bluetooth. I’ll stick to my phone and smartwatch. Nothing to be gained here.

This app just keeps getting worse!!. Way to keep making this app worse. Since Under Armor took over this app, they just keep chipping away at its usefulness. The latest is rounding up workouts to the nearest hour in challenges. How very UN-useful. You could be a minute away from the other person or 59 minutes. Who knows? I guess that is so you piss people off into upgrading & paying you money. There are other downgrades also.

Nice App. Splendid High Accuracy

Fantastic Tool. Thanks very much UA for making this app available in both the free and paid formats. I have enjoyed and benefited from it greatly. Intuitive and easy to use. So much helpful information to help with casual and serious training. 😊

MapandRun. Run,walk, sprint…it help a lot… how far you go. How much calories you burns.

Love this app and love the Under Armour blue tooth shoes!?. I used Map My Run over 10 years ago to help me run 5 half marathons- I struggle with running but this app really helped me get my KM’s in. I loved how I could use it any where in the world and how it helped when traveling. When I was looking for a new pair of shoes I saw an Under Armour shoe that said - blue tooth and connects to Map My Run. I had to try them. I have to say, they are amazing. When I forget my phone , they still record my runs in Map My Run. Love it !!

Get it. Simple yet sufficient. Very good app.

I. When on a run stats goes back to zero by itself. No music control

No longer a good app. EVERY time I use the app to track a walk, it shuts down while I’m moving. NEVER tracks a complete workout. I thought it was just when I was doing 23 km, but today it shut down after only 5.6 km. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Don’t waster your time. Been using it since 2017 when it was Endomondo. It never failed then. This year it is completely useless. 👎🏽👎🏽

UA app review.. So I got this app nearly a couple of months ago. The subscription came as part of a promotion with the purchase of a certain pair of running shoes. I was a skeptic at first worried about the “big brother” aspect of smart shoes. The interface is really user friendly. Offers a variety of challenges that can be done independently, group setting or even on a global capacity; which I thought was very neat. The settings are easy to navigate through and I appreciate all the resources the app posts which promotes health and wellbeing. I wouldn’t go out of my way to purchase this app, however I am really grateful for this to be an add on towards my initial purchase; especially as a student. I’ve been able to enhance my overall performance training and conditioning; being a health care student, this app has really helped me take the stress and anxiety away from not only understanding my body but becoming better attuned with it. I’ve really enjoyed learning how to train smarter! Now I’m incorporating activities I probably imagined doing; at best. I’ve pushed myself out of my comfort level and it’s been a great immersive experience with the guidance of UA’s expertise. And no this is not a promotional post or anything. Just an objective and sound-minded review. Xo

Cool. This isn’t related to my rating, but why are there so many updates? 😂 I guess it’s cool you keep up with the app. It feels so often compared to other apps, and I don’t notice much change.

Last update app stopped working. Ever since I updated the app (approx September 22) it stopped recording my run after 10 sec. it seems to still be running in the background because it also stops my playlist. Sorry I gotta uninstall this bites

Where did the ‘SHARE’ button go?. It was there in August, has it disappeared again? Can’t seem to get my app to show the ‘SHARE’ button in my workouts anymore. Otherwise I’ve always loved this app, but please bring that button back.

Wrong Tracking. It’s proving difficult no of times for the software/ system to respond correctly after pause in a workout, e.g Walk. I’ve to push resume no of times before it actually restarts and sometimes like today when I check after a while, it’s still in pause mode! Really disappointing!!

Great app. The free option is great for runners - it’s really helped me monitor my progress

Best App for your Fitness Life. Best app to have for all your activities being tracked, logged and interactively fun. It’s a great way for challenging your friends to a fun loving competition and burn calories. So wonderful to see your progress from beginning to end.

Endomondo. J’aimerais avoir le bilan par mois comme avec Endomondo. Les petits records aussi.

So cool. When I first started a regular regiment of jogging over forty years ago whilst in the military I never would have thought that today I could see my every pace and distance jogged every time I do it usually three to four times a week and then forward the results to my lazy adult children who think I’m flippin’ amazing ! So cool man ! I do believe they think daddy is doing it for them so why should they put out the pain. I keep saying no one else is going to do it for ya’ll .. oh well, perseverance is the key so I’ll just keep on sending the results a couple times a month. Very nice App;))

Pretty Good. This app is quite nice to track runs. It also has other settings for biking, and walking. Just try not to use it on a track, the GPS might mess up a little depending on how large the field is. Overall, I recommend this app.

Broken, it sucks. The thing is stuck on bike ride when ever I open the app, it also will not let me finish a work out, the gold to finish things doesn’t work. I updated the app to the latest version and this still is broken.

Complaint. It wouldn’t let me use the app idk why it says I don’t meet the term of use

Recent Update and GPS doesn’t work. Loved the app.. key word loved. The most recent update has effectively rendered the app useless. The gps tracking is no longer accurate. It will stop working all together throughout a run or bike or tracks a completely different track than was taken. I’ll up my rating once this is fixed.

Arbitrary pause. I have used this app for over a year - albeit not in the last few months. Today’s very brief workout with plagued with random pauses and restarts for no apparent reason. I really like and rely on this app so tell me this is a glitch.

Not enough. Annoying that it doesn’t allow me to see mile splits and that it doesn’t give more data…

Make discard run icon, more visible, when reopening app. When I re-open the app, it is not easy to find how to discard a run… Please make this icon more visible. Thank you.

Error. Error creating profile can’t even get past the loading screen I bought the shoes as well unless this is fixed I will be complaining

Would be 5 but..... I love this app and I would have given it 5 stars if you could have more customization in intervals. Would love to be able to set custom interval distances and not only times. Also would love to have distance “hard” intervals and timed “easy” intervals.

Connectivity is inconsistent. With the latest update I have had a lot of workouts not being tracked. Walking, biking etc. Very frustrating. My friend use Strava and have not had these issues

Scam ?. Got a free 1 year coupon with my headset ... forces you to put your car for auto renewal. Took forever to find out how to remove it . And to top it off these aggressive publicity in the app . Could be the best app in the world. When they try to scam , i run away

Very good app. I like this app very much except I wish I could hear the 1/2 kilometres also. I could do a 7 kilometres or whatever odd number. Unless there is a way but I haven’t found yet. But all in all this is an excellent app and very accurate. I strongly recommend 🤙🏼

Intrusive. Deleted after reading their privacy policy and the data usage consent they impose as a condition to use their app. Would prefer paying for privacy.

For my runs and MB cycling. Excellent tool, no complaints. Very accurate and easy to use.

Can’t map a run. Downloaded this so I could map a run and see how far it is, just like the website. So much easier on the website. I couldn’t find how to do it on the app. I’ll stick to the website.

Running. I love this because I can see my running. Distance, speed .

Greta. A perfect company for a running !

Sonic 4. Love the UA map myrun

It’s good. This is the replacement to the Endomondo app, that was a 5 star app; it kept track of you best times, . . .; this app tracks your km, hours and calories; my goal is to get around my the world, this will do that; the social aspect is nice to support our fellow mmr’s

SUBSCRIPTION RIP-OFF. Loved this app, until today when I opened it to see I now have to pay for the privilege of seeing ‘advanced stats’.

Error creating profile. I can’t even go past the log in screen because it won’t load for me and says problem creating account.

Best App. I’ve used this app for 7 years. Use it for every activity. The BEST👍

The stats make no sense. I have been using this app for several months and it just doesn’t work well. I can’t tell if it’s the GPS or the app, but it’s way, way off. It’s often telling me I’ve run 3 or 4 miles when I know I’ve only gone 2.5. The pace is never correct. I know I run about 6 miles an hour but it’ll tell me I’m running a 15 min mile which is baffling since it always has me running farther than I actually have. I live on the beach and there’s a spot at the end of the island where I turn around (2.5 miles from home) and often as I get there, it’ll suddenly tell me I’ve run 4 or 5 miles. I look at the map and it has me across the intercostal waterway and then at some point back to where I am. That instantly adds 2+ miles to my run. I honestly can’t say if this is the app or my phone, but the last app I used was never off like this so I think this thing needs to find some way to correct for obviously faulty positioning and pace.

Used to be my go-to app. I have been using this app for many years to track my runs but am very disappointed in most of the “upgrades” that have occurred since Under Armor bought them out. The accuracy of tracking was supposed to be improved, but my first mile, which I have been running for six years, keeps increasing in distance, and is now about .1 mile different from what I know to be a mile. Now, with the latest “upgrade,” they have taken away music link to the app. How is it an “enhancement” to remove important functionality for a lot of users? I am on a training plan through the end of the year and will continue to use MMR to record my runs until then, but unless you bring back music integration, I’ll probably find a different app for 2021.

Usually love it. Okay. So I usually love this app. But something funky is going on. 1) suddenly yesterday my workouts weren’t syncing. I tried to uninstall and re-install and my god it made it worse my workouts just disappeared . 2) then I was booted from having MVP. So I got it back. I have now been charged TWICE for MVP... still don’t have it, I guess because it still is asking me to upgrade. 3) HOW IS THERE NOT A WAY TO RECOVER A WORKOUT YOU JUST ACCIDENTALLY DELETED? if there’s a spot for not synced workouts. How is there not a “ recently deleted” that could just sit there for a WEEK before it’s deleted. So I don’t have a panic attack that my workout just came back and when deleting a picture- I accidentally delete the workout but now I can’t get that back. That’s horrible. Now I’m more angry than I was before about the deleted workout. 4) please for the love of God help me.

SOCIAL aspect lacking! Please fix, studies show it’s excellent for motivation & sticking to exercise. PLEASE make it so when someone comments on your run, & you get a notification, THEY GET ONE TOO WHEN YOU COMMENT BACK. Also, please make it such that YOU CAN TAG FRIENDS IN COMMENTS. This makes it possible to have an actual conversation, people are dropping this app because they can’t talk back-and-forth with their friends about workouts. It’s way more motivating to have friends on here and all of my friends keep quitting this app, because they comment, I never see it, can’t respond. I love this app but the ONLY THING THAT IS REALLY LACKING is the social aspect, which is so important with motivation, according to multiple peer-reviewed studies. Thanks for your consideration! :)

Recent Downgrade. I have been using Map My Run for years. I like the basic functions - just record my run and keep a record of it. I used to like the ability to lay out a run and follow the path, but that quit working a while ago. The most recent version (May-June 2021) is a major downgrade. I use iPhone SE and like to synchronize with Apple Watch. Problems with the new version: 1) The new displays on Apple Watch are terrible. The first thing that comes up is a display of steps per minute - data I don’t care about. I want to know distance and pace without having to swipe to a different screen. 2) The watch quits monitoring or syncing in the middle of a run. 2.5 to 3 miles into a run, the data display just quits and goes to the Home Screen 3) After my run is over the watch app keeps popping up on my phone and it won’t go away. Even if I close the app on my phone and close the app on my watch. It keeps popping up and it runs the battery down on my watch. I have deleted the app off my phone. I will have to find a different one that I hope works better. I gave it two stars because the basic app on the phone still works apart from the watch. I hope the developers can fix it.

It’s great! But I’d like these improvements. I want to start by saying I love this app! It’s really easy to start a run and to get back into exercising. I love the challenges because they inspire me to run. And it’s great that can compete against friends. The only thing is that it drains my battery very quickly so you had to make sure your phone is well charged before you go on a run. Another thing I’d like added is if I go on a run and I forgot to start a MapMyRun or when I am adding in one of my runs to the program, I’d like to load my routes. You can choose from the routes you’ve done, but I wish that you could draw out where you ran if you went on a new route. Overall this is a great app. I just think these things would make it so much better and easier!

Great for Distance, but not much else. I have been doing my workout routine through this app for a while. I’ll preface this whole review with the fact that I never leave reviews, so the app is obviously pretty good. I think it is great for distance running, and I love a lot of the features. That said, there are some things that should be improved. First, there is no good way to keep track of sprints. Given that this is an option, it is annoying that I can’t plug in how many reps at what distance (in meters) and at what pace. I think that would be a great addition. This goes for hill sprints as well. On a more nit-picky level, there should be a way to “continue music” when starting the run, rather than starting a playlist over. Lastly, I would like to see more items added in the workout builder section, especially stretches. Otherwise, I enjoy it!

Major issues loading the app. I liked the app at first and it was working just fine. Although, about the fourth or fifth time I used the app, every time I would open the app to see my times or my pace the app WOULD NOT LOAD. It would take a good 15-30 seconds to load and wouldn’t track my time correctly and messed up my runs. I thought this was a one time thing and that maybe it was my internet connection, but no, this happened multiple times at different places. My phone is not old at all, it is practically brand new, an iPhone X. It made me extremely angry and I couldn’t do my runs and track them correctly because the app WOULD NOT LOAD CORRECTLY. It is very frustrating when I’m doing a hard, long run and I can’t see my time/pace when I need it for my trainer. I don’t know if it’s a bug or what it is, but I am deleting the app after this has happened over 3 times. It’s ridiculous.

Map my Roll. I love the app, I keep track of the miles I roll in my wheelchair. I used it to track my miles for multiple virtual races with Mass Bay Runners. Did the Ditto Town Challenge and for the New England capitals I couldn’t do the entire loop of all 6 New England states which was over 400 miles but I did Montpelier, VT to Auburn, ME and that was 180 miles. I did some workouts pushing the Blackstone River Bikeway along with my normal everyday mileage and did it under 60 days! I learned of the app and races from my friend now at the Paralympic tryouts for handcyling and she did the 400+ miles going to all the state capitals. Maps where you went and elevation changes so shows the hill climbing workout too! Great application 😎

Pretty good. I got into distance running this year and wanted to find a good app to track my progress. Overall, it does a pretty good job. The map tracking is accurate and I enjoy being able to switch from miles to kilometers. My only real gripe is that the auto pause feature is not accurate at all. The app pauses when I’m still running and does not properly react when I stop running. Hopefully they can fix this in the future. I’ve also noticed that my calorie burn count is significantly higher in this app than the other apps that I’ve tried. Not sure what exactly causes that, but if the auto pause feature gets fixed I’ll probably continue using it.

Great app but needs some improvement. I like this app and it’s compatibility with my Apple Watch. I have used almost all running apps available, and I can appreciate the features that others have and MapMyRun has not. One that I value the most is the possibility to run against myself , using the roadmap and the time of previous runs - I think this feature is really missed here. The second one is the possibility to customize the fartlek/interval runs in a much extensive way. The feature available here is very basic. Finally, if you added to the vocal feedbacks not only the heart beats but also the HR zone (now only available in the “motivational”menu) this app would be perfect !

Mobile app is good, but watch app needs work. The app is great, and it’s nice that I can run with just my Apple Watch and record workouts. However, it takes WAY too long for the watch to sync with the mobile app/website. After I complete a workout, I like to be able to look at all the statistics on the app or website, but it currently takes an average of 12 hours to sync with the app/website. I should note that there are no issues syncing with the Health app. I did email support and they emailed back by simply copying and pasting what it says on their website, which is open the apps on the watch and phone at the same time, or put the watch on its charger until it syncs. Neither of those “solutions” work. Unfortunately, I paid for the MVP so I guess I will use this until it’s over and then switch to Strava.

Works but could be better. I have used MapMyRun for years and really liked it, but as one of the few apps that will allow you to run without your phone AND track your stats on Apple Watch, it needs to have a couple other watch features to make it completely independent. 1. Splits for interval training on the watch. I know there is an interval training workout option, but it didn’t seem to do anything different when I tried it. 2. Haptic pace reminders, or audio that will work with watch without phone present. (Currently while playing music during run, bluetoothed to my earbuds, the audio pace updates don’t come through) 3. Ability to put in customized workouts that alert you at a certain set distance and remind you to change your pace. Would be great for tempo workouts. I have experienced a few of the glitches people mentioned where it just stops working in the middle of a run. But I found that only happened in poor reception areas, and if you kept going it seems to pick backup where it left off as if it kept running in the background and just froze on the watch screen. Usually short lived issue. But since the update I haven’t experienced this. Thanks and keep the updates coming!!

Visual for interval/tempo workouts. Would love to have a visual that I can refer to while doing a tempo or interval runFrom the training plan. I’d like to be able to see where I am in the progression of intervals for example I am on the third of five intervals. Also, there seems to be a bug where if you press the power button on your iPhone 11 when audio stats are being narrated, to see how long you’ve been running for so you know when to turn back, the audio stats shut off for the rest of the work out. This makes it very difficult to know when the interval starts and ends and so you end up running looking at your phone to see how many minutes you’re going fast for and how many slow and at the same time racking your brain to remember if that was the 3rd of 5 intervals or was it actually 4. Just annoying. This is why I couldn’t rate it higher.

Just don’t pay for it. This app ran perfectly when using the free version. No GPS issues and very few malfunctions such as the app bugging out and closing. Time and distance were also accurate. But after starting free trial of the upgraded version this app will take distance off because it doesn’t register turnarounds or will put you on a completely different street altogether. It is frustrating to have to calculate your own splits because the distance it told you that you ran is incorrect. I know it is incorrect because I’ve ran a particular route dozens of times with very little variation of distance. Also the voice coaching malfunctions the majority of the time. It will tell you your splits are 2 1/2 minutes and then a few minutes later, 13 minutes, and then a few minutes later,40 minutes, and then a few minutes later eight minutes 45 seconds. Not a bad app overall, just don’t pay for it

Needs improvement. So I’ve been using this app for a few years now, and recently I have had so many issues. I sync with my Apple Watch so the first problem is that the app would not sync. Now, the app takes forever to load (the logo just circles for a few minutes before it opens) but I don’t have connectivity issues with any other app. Today, the app crashed after my first mile and it stopped running the time and distance. I’ve been using the activity app on my Apple Watch as a temporary backup but I really prefer this app and hope they fix their glitches. I still love what the app has to offer, I just think it’s not that compatible with the Apple Watch which is my biggest complaint. The app on my phone works fine, but I don’t think that’s as accurate as my watch.

A mile? More like two. I used this once to track a mile for myself, for note my average is about 5:53 per mile and three days before I got a 5:54. Before I did a mile I used a few other types of trackers to track a mile. As I ran using this app I ran that same mile and guess what by the time I got back it said I had done only .8 of a mile I was surprised but just thought of it as fine. Then I kept running and running and by the time it finally gave me a mile it was a 6:34 time. Now I know I can get a 6:10 on real off days but I was feeling good about it before hand. I can feel that was more then a mile and so can every other app or website out there, it can’t track well at all! To be .2 miles off will destroy any miler runners time (like my own) I run far to much and for competitions to have my track of by that much. Therefore if you are a pro runner or elite even trying to push yourself for your fastest mile, don’t use this app it is just not good simple as that.

App not syncing and Safari Not Working. I have been using MapMyRun since 2011, I think there has been great improvements since 2011. However, the past several months, I have struggled with all MapMyRun web sites and apps. I holding out for some fixes, but I have had to move to other running apps because of all the problems recently. I would prefer to only use MapMyRun and another app that syncs my workouts. I take my fitness very seriously and unfortunately all my fitness metrics are now being tracked for health benefits at my place of employment. With health care extremely serious in the United States, I may have to leave all MapMyFitness and MapMyRun apps which are supposed to load my metrics daily. I can’t risk losing my health benefits at work if results are not syncing or if I have no documentation. I am very sorry that it may come to leaving MapMyRun for good.

It’s great.... when it works. There are some serious glitches that need to be fixed. I pay the yearly subscription to be an MVP So I can have the ability to use the running plan feature. Many times I will do a run on the plan using the voice prompts and it works out great, but once I finish I go back to look at the plan and the data is all mixed up. For example, before the run it said I needed to do a 5 mile run at 8m:30s. After the run has been logged, it will say something random, like 1.23 mile run at -4m:21s. A couple times I logged a run and hit save and it just disappeared. So I’d have to manually log a run, which can be frustrating when I didn’t memorize all the stats from the lost workout. But when everything does work the way it is supposed to it really is a great app. The programmers just have a little work to do to make this app less buggy.

Great app to get you started & continue on. I used this app to start running for the first time in my life and since I started in 2022, I’ve ran 1263km or 144 workouts. Map my run kept track of each workout which kept me motivated and I lost 80 lbs because of it. Had I not been able to track my progress, I don’t think I would have done as well as I did. I even got up to 20km daily and have never experienced an issue with any of my runs not getting synced and I do a lot of trail running in no service zones. Sometimes the workout won’t save until I get back to in service, but it’s never failed to sync. I love everything about the app, including the challenges. I highly recommend it, it truly changed my life!

Great When it Works, Horrible When it Doesn’t. I’ve been using MapMyRun for about a year now and it’s definitely the best run tracking app by a long shot— so long as the app is working correctly. There have been constant issues throughout the year where the app becomes buggy, and I’ve noticed it’s become even worse since they updated the tracking software to give you more accurate data. The problems I’m having now are that 1) the workout is no longer mirroring on my Series 3 Apple Watch (just opens the app and then crashes) 2) the prompts (the person that tells you cadence, split pace, etc) is no longer working and finally 3) they have an Artificial Intelligence bot replying to their help desk requests and are trying to pass it off as a real person. That’s not helpful UA

Auto pause no longer works as all. Since the last update which was supposed to improve auto pause, now it just never pauses at all. I’ve tried on two different runs and ended up manually pausing after testing it at a few stop lights where it never paused even after waiting for a minute or longer. Also I wish Apple Watch support worked a little better. It seems I have to start the app on my phone AND my watch separately and start a run on the phone, then keep raising my wrist until it finally syncs up (sometimes taking several minutes). If I don’t raise my wrist the watch app closes and never syncs at all and I get no heart rate activity on the entire run.

Hindering for runners. I have never had an issue on an app to the point to write a review. However when I download a running app I expect to be able to have features that are necessary for the basics of running.. while running when I look at my phone or watch I couldn’t see my distance or my pace. I could only view my time which a stop watch could do. My performance running style ends in giving it my all until I can’t anymore. Twice I gave up 3 seconds before breaking a PR because I couldn’t see how close I was. Now there’s an issue of I can’t end my run because it’s stuck behind the menu bar. So I will never know anything about my run but the time. This is unacceptable for a running app especially one by a big company. It won’t let me send my complaint that has screenshots of the issues. And finally if you’re hoping it will help you with goals, coaching, or strategies to improve, you will have to pay.

This app doesn’t work. Used to love the app but the Apple Watch and voice assist have stopped working. Ever since the app was updated, I can no longer see the first screen on my Apple Watch. As such when I’m running I can’t see my average pace. I live in a fairly hilly area so my pace varies as I go up and down hills. Now when I run I have to pull my phone out periodically to make sure that I’m hitting my goals. This gets in the way of me focusing on my run, and can be a hassle pulling my phone out 4x-6x during a session. As well it can slow me down as I have to wait for my phone to unlock and then finagle getting my phone in and out of my secure running shorts pocket. My other issue with this app is the voice assist. I paid for the monthly subscription to get access to Map My Run’s run plans. The plans seem pretty good but the voice assist doesn’t work at all, especially on my tempo run days. It consistently messes up telling me my my run is “44 mins with 1 interval” when in fact it’s 29mins and 7 intervals according to my plan. As well, it’ll freeze during intervals and keep giving me the same instructions over and over and over until I get fed up with it and just take my headphones out and try and measure my runs myself. All in all very disappointed and I will likely be looking for another app here soon.

Apple Watch sync is terrible & split glitch. Consistent problems with syncing to my Apple Watch during runs - sometimes it won’t show my run stats at all, sometimes it pauses my run randomly without notice, sometimes it gets stuck on a screen I don’t want to see. Most recently the default screen on the watch shows zeroes across the board, no matter what I’m doing. Even more obnoxiously, the app now has a glitch where on longer workouts it miscalculates split pace for splits that span across the hour mark. Messes up my average pace for the whole run, which is frustrating. I’ve been using Map My Run for a while and wanted to stick it out through my current training for consistency, but I might have to switch to Strava. Instead of getting better MMR seems to be getting worse.

Syncing problems. I used to start the app from my phone because I love all the choices there, I can find my specific workout, Insanity.... As I worked out I could check my watch and it would be in sync with my phone and be tracking my heart rate. Now when I start it with my phone and check my watch, it does open map my run, but my only option is to start a new workout, then it logs two. Also, every time I go back in the app on my phone to check my devices, somehow my watch is disconnected and Apple health has to have permission again. This was never a problem before, I really loved using it before all the bugs, unless it’s because I’m not a subscriber anymore.

Great concept-Poor execution. 2012 review-Although most features work well it is still buggy. ( the free version, at least.) For example, most of my routes are listed as being in a town they aren't. Sometimes workouts or routes won't load for hours at a time despite having a strong signal. Reloading doesn't help. Overall, ok but annoying problems very unsatisfactory. 2019 update-I’ve put up with a lot of bugs and problems with this app over the years but I’ve just about had it now. The latest problem, which is completely unacceptable, is that if I slow my running pace down much below a 12-min mile, The program pauses (which isn’t great) bit then when I speed up again it does not resume which, of course, completely screws up the distance, pace, time, etc. This app is now useless to me. Time to go look for one that actually works.

Gps isn’t accurate for fields/yards. GPS isn't accurate in a field/big yard. I know one portion of my yard is 120ft in width due to extensive yard work and the city having to do paving/sidewalks over the years, for my running I round that down to a modest 100ft because I don't go all the way to the fence but get pretty close. So for a full lap it should be 200ft (run from one end to the other turn around and come back), I've tested it out on other running apps and seems to be correct because it comes out to 0.03 of a mile. So now for my run using this app, I was at 0.71 of a mile, did my 8 more laps to get an even 1.0 mile or at least extremely close (8 laps x 0.03 should equal 0.24) and after I completed my 8th lap it only showed 0.83 miles. I really like the rest of the app, especially the inclusion of calories burned, just wished the GPS was more accurate.

I’m not a runner, I just enjoy running. This app is everything I needed. I couldn’t come to buying another Fitbit (2 broke within 2.5 years), so I just stopped running for a period of time. When I re-evaluated my goals, I needed running back and found this app. Not only does it map where you’ve run, it lets you know how far you’ve gone through the audio without having to look at your device. It tells you the mileage, the average pace, and the pace of your last mile. But my FAVORITE part is the dashboard feature which lists all of your historical runs, which only makes me want to beat the last distance and pace. You won’t be disappointed in this app.

Not loving the update - watch and phone separated. I’m a marathoner and have used MapMyRun consistently for a few years. I run with my phone and my Apple Watch, and liked that I could start my workout from my watch and it would run on both phone and watch. On my latest long run, I started my workout from my watch (as usual) and had the app open on my phone. The workout was only tracked on my watch, and it never synced to my phone. No mile splits, elevation, nothing. I had some pacing sections where I needed to check the splits later to see how I did, bummer. I guess I need to launch from my phone from now on, not sure why the update would let you track on the watch but not save the workout anywhere. (I hit done and save, so not sure where it went) Had to manually enter workout based on total time.

Severe incorrect calorie count. I really enjoy this app and have used it often, until recently it has not been counting my calories correctly in a significant way. I use the app to track my running on my Apple Watch along with the activity app from Apple. At first, I was able to start them both on my watch at the same time and both apps would keep track correctly until the past month. Neither one would track my calories correctly. While trying to figure out what is wrong, I have taken mapmyrun app of my Apple Watch and the activity app from Apple’s calorie count has came out correctly. I really like the mapmyrun app, so I am going to try tracking it just on my IPhone . But I am bummed it isn’t working correctly so I can track them both on my Apple Watch.

Easy and quick. I don’t have a lot of time to keep track of my great app, fun and easy to use. Just wish my shoes sinc’d with the app like they are supposed to🤔😫apps or wait for things to load. When I run, I like to just get up and go. I like that this app is quick to load, and mostly accurate for my time and route. It’s been helpful to keep me motivated and see my progress, which motivates me... because we are our own best competition. There’s nothing better than beating your old run-time on a route. I also like the connection to my music, though I wish the app would analyze the beat and pick more of my running music loaded that keeps pace with my run. Enjoy your own adventure, and keep running😃.

Update. Ever since the previous update, as I’ve read with some other reviews, this app used to be spot on with distance and pace, etc. Now, it runs haphazardly with tracking distance. I have been running the same route for 5+ years. I know exactly how far it is, how much farther I have to run to make it a complete 5 miles, 4 miles, etc. This app used to be spot on with mileage based off the website and the app while in use. Now what is apparently no longer a 3 mile run, is now a 2.88 mile run, which the next day is 3.3 miles or now 2.75. So in the beginning I just ran the extra .12 miles, until it became another quarter mile. Then I realized it isn’t logging the difference, which means I’m not actually gaining true progress. I also am no longer an MVP member, even though I should be. So welcome to under-tracking mileages and being kicked off MVP memberships.

90% accuracy, but not 100%. To explain myself, I’m a cross country runner in high school. I don’t own premium. With that being said, I really like this app. It’s been helping out my running significantly since I got it. My favorite features are the mileage tracker, which seems to work just fine, and the voiceover coach. You can customize it to tell when you cross certain distance thresholds, your average pace for that split and you max speed in that split. I would give this a 4.5 stars if I could because my ONLY complaint is that some of the other features don’t seem entirely accurate. In particular, the graph that shows your mile pace during certain parts of the run doesn’t seem to work at all. Other than that, would recommend. Sorry about all the bot reviews in here.

Not as good as it once was— pun intended.. 5 months ago, this app was awesome. As someone who is by NO MEANS a runner, i was becoming motivated and excited for my next run. I liked the form analysis at the end of each run and strived to do better. Insert the update that did it in. I’m not sure which one it was, but it completely changed your form analysis for the worst. You used to be able to see, in very easy detail, how good or bad your form was. You would have green zones and red zones showing where you were on pace for the selected mile time you wanted, not anymore. It doesn’t even remotely do that. I don’t have enough time to try and calculate where my form was correct or not. Not only that, but I specifically bought $150+ shoes to try and become a better runner. If this simple issue was fixed, I would 100% change my review to 5+ stars. Until then, it will only be used when I need to wear my other shoes…

kills apple watch battery. I really like the look of this app and it does seem to be accurate, at least for me. I’m not using more advanced features, honestly it’s primarily just to track distance/splits/pace for all my runs in one place. And it does that well. The problem is that it totally destroys my Apple Watch SE 2020 battery. Once I launch a run from my watch, then complete it (and these are 2-4 mile runs), it will deplete my battery to next to nothing. It used to last at least 24 hrs. One 30 minute run, and it is dead. In comparison, if I track a run just in the Apple Fitness app, my watch depletes by about 8% in that time, which makes sense given the heart rate monitoring. But dropping by over 80% in 30 minutes with MapMyRun makes me hesitant to use it. Wish there was a workaround for this! Or better, a fix.

Incredibly Confusing and doesn’t work. I have an Iwatch, and I am quite experienced with Polar, Garmin and other apps that track running stats. This program is about as bad as you can get. Start with this. If you don’t sync for a few weeks, all your workouts are dated on the day you finally download, so it looks like I ran 20 times on 12/23. And, the data on the website does not match the data on my IPhone And yes, I have an internet connection and it should be syncing. And, worse still, the website and app itself are quite confusing, filled with ads and void of the simplest of valuable information like how about making the workout calendar/profile the home page, and show me a simple monthly calendar that tracks how many miles I’ve run with a total column for each week and a total mileage per month in the monthly view. Not sure how this app has positive reviews. It’s clunky and difficult to use.

This used to be a good app, but…. I’ve been a paid user of this app for more than a year. I’ve purchased a couple of pairs of UA shoes with Bluetooth enabled so I could take advantage of the run coaching features, and connected the app to MyFitnessPal so I could track calories burned along with my food intake. I’ve been pretty happy with this little ecosystem until recently I kept running into the same problem. Today it happened for the last time, because I’m canceling my subscription. The issue? Half the time you start running with this app, it just *quits*. What’s the point of a running app that can’t keep up with me? It goes like this: I open the app and start a planned run. The coaching voice pipes up and tells me to start running. And then after a mile or so, I realize I haven’t gotten any coaching tips or mileage updates in awhile. I open the app to check things out, and this bish fell asleep back at 0.12 miles in and has no idea how far I’ve gone since then. Useless. I could put up with this occasionally, but it has happened to me 8-10 times at this point, even after updates and upgrading to a new iPhone. Back to Strava for me…

I wish it supported using a treadmill.. I have been using the Map My … applications for years and love them. I recently updated to a premium subscription to take advantage of the trainer function. It took a little getting used to but I was able use it. Where I ran into trouble is I live in Colorado and 9” of snow fell over 2 days so I did what I do and hopped on the treadmill, I was able to execute the plan, but couldn’t load the results into the app. One of the workout was a speed test. This my comment I wish it supported using a treadmill. The spring is where we get most of our snow so I decided to look for something different.

Irritating Camera Auto Request. I love this app! It’s pretty accurate, easy to use, and has kept me on target for my training. Major life changer. Tells you your pace, splits, mileage, and calories burned. I have more good things than bad things to say... but.. After a year of consistent use here are my beefs- I say pretty accurate because if you pause the workout and start it up again, it is totally incorrect and records you at a much faster pace which can be nice in a fake congratulatory way- “I always knew I could run a 6 min mile! “ It does also hog your battery life like an all consuming starving little monster. I find it weird that the preset calculation on my runs is calories burned rather than, mileage or pace. Really? When I’m in the middle of a run, panting and dying, the first thing I want to see is calories burned? Versus, say, how much longer my god for saken run is gonna be. But, the most irritating thing is the five hundred automatic photo prompts - “xyz wants access to your photos” is constantly on the screen instead of the actual run! Guess what - I don’t want a lame work out photo and if I say no once to access to my photos then stop stalking me. Other than these small irritations, I really love it and have had a great experience with it.

Awesome, awesome, awesome!!! Need I say more?!?. Last week I ran my very first half marathon! Unfortunately I used the Nike + run club app to train and during my run it’s was way off, it said I ran 16.6 miles on a 13.1 mile course!! So needless to say that made my first experience very difficult! So I decided to switch to Map My Run and see how it is, I have another half marathon next week. And today I mapped out my run with my phone and saw exactly how far I was to run. I used the app on my Apple 4 watch. It was spot on! It wasn’t even a little off and it matched my half marathon official time almost to a tee! I’m so thankful that I get to train for real this time without an app messing with my distances. Thank you for making a reliable app for distance runners ❤️

Where’d my music go?. I’ve been using this app for a little over two years, and I’ve really enjoyed it—definitely served as an upgrade to my running experience. One thing I’ve particularly loved is that I could integrate my own fitness playlist into the app along with its built-in voiceovers. That being said, when I launched the app today after the most recent update, the music was nowhere to be found. Didn’t automatically start with my workout, no control buttons for me to go in and start it manually, no sign of anything relevant as I dug through the settings menu—it looks like all music support is totally gone. If that’s the case, this app just took a MASSIVE nosedive for me. Please restore this function or direct me how to locate it on the new version, because losing this might actually be a dealbreaker for me.

Amazing Update. I normally do not write reviews for apps, but I love using MapMyRun so I felt like I just needed to write one for this app. It’s been a great experience thus far: a polished interface, a organized place to look at your stats or friend’s stats, and finally I am able to use it with my Apple Watch without bringing my iPhone with me. However, I suggest that Under Armour should create a settings menu within the Apple Watch app so the user can do things such as schedule a run so you will get a reminder when you should run, have an indoor run option, auto pause option and choose whether you want voice feedback so the you can know what your stats are when you finish each mile just like you can if you use the app on your phone. I hope that these improvements will be added sometime in the near future.

App won’t sync between phone and Apple Watch. In the 10 or so times I’ve used the premium version only once has the app and my watch actually synced. I’ve followed all the instructions online for fixing this and have uninstalled and installed the app on both devices countless times. Usually it just double logs my workouts when I start the app on my phone and watch when it’s clear it isn’t going to kick in on my watch. And then I have delete the incorrect watch workout that has all bpm info. I am close to canceling my subscription because today it got worse — I didn’t start the app on my Apple Watch when I ran. After the run the app started on my watch and keeps restarting itself hours later logging false steps, miles and calories on my watch and health app. Why is this so difficult? I’ve used plenty of other apps on my phone and watch. Shouldn’t Under Armour have long ago figured out how to make this work seamlessly?

Used to be my go to app. I’ve been using MMR for years-well before it was purchased by UA. I’ve logged thousands of miles; First on my phone then on my Apple Watch. Updates have been great, but support for the Apple Watch is lacking. The Watch app tracks fine, but it literally takes days for a run to post to MMR (phone and website), and sometimes it just never transfers. Frustrating. I finally switched to STRAVA and find that runs recorded on my watch transfer immediately after being paired with with my phone. Perfect. Just how it should work. Fix this MMR and I’ll come home, but otherwise it’s not worth the aggravation. I purchased an iwatch for music, podcasts, and run tracking. MMR just hasn’t been holding up its end of the bargain.

Dumps info … won’t easily accept edit … premium features won’t restore. UPDATE: Thank you to the developers for a quick reply. I was finally able to restore the distance information the next day. And, I am glad the track wasn’t lost, too. Maybe my Internet connection wasn’t so good in the woods preventing me from making an edit? Still, I’d be nice if an Internet connection wasn’t necessary to modify a workout. Also, I noted that when the workout title was modified, that’s when the distance got dumped, and I couldn’t correct it until the next day (possibly when I was connected to WiFi?). I will follow up with tech support to solve this issue and the remaining issue of restoring the premium features and update my review afterwards. Thanks again to the developers for reaching out. —- Took a hike with this app, and it recorded my stats. However, when I tried to rename my workout, the app dumped my distance. When I tried to edit and restore the distance, the app won’t save my changes. So now, I’ve logged a 0.00 mile hike (instead of 6.94 mi.). Also, I used to use MapMyRun+, so when they killed that premium app, I received an email saying to use this app and I’d still get the premium features, “for life.” So why am I CONSTANTLY being bugged to upgrade?

Privacy policy agreement blocks access in middle of run. I just upgrade this app; I started the app to check if anything needed to be set up after the update. It opened to the "start workout" screen. Today I head out on a run, launch the app and press the start workout button. Off i go. Every mile the hear the timing info. Great. But then I finish, grab my iphone out of my pocket - and find it on a Location screen with no cancel or exit button. I'm standing on the edge of a field in bright sunshine, after my longest run in 6 months, and it wants me to agree to a lengthy screen if fine print. To make it worse, it says it need the location to comply with privacy regulations - which means it wants to make as much use of my data as it can, rather than have a simple privacy policy that meets all requirements.

Save yourself the frustration. I’ve been trying to start training for half marathon that is coming up in the fall. I’m starting from scratch so I know that the time I have for training is limited. So it frustrates me to no end when I am halfway through a scheduled run on my plan and all of a sudden it restarts a warm up for me. This happens almost every time I use the app. Also I will be scheduled to run eight intervals, for instance, End it will only have the run four of them and then cool down. But then again after the cool down it will tell me warm up. Only once in the months that I’ve been using this app have I gotten some sort of alert that I had completed my scheduled run. I have emailed about my issues twice and they say that they are aware of them but don’t have any sort of idea when they will be fixed. OK, then give me a refund until you know. Because there are plenty of other training apps that I can spend $30 on.

Good app, one big problem for me. I have really enjoyed using this app. I purchased with the hopes of building a running habit and working up to my first 5k. I selected a plan and had trouble building consistency into my routine. As a result, I got behind on the workouts and have been trying to catch up. Well, it turns out that regardless of where you are in it, it deletes the whole plan and your progress when the original end date comes around. It doesn’t save it, warn you the last day is coming, or let you go back to see your progress. It’s completely gone. I was finally starting to feel great and using the app for accountability, but losing all of my progress shattered my motivation. Id really like to pick up where I left off rather than having to start over or build my own plan, but as far as I can tell, my original plan is gone for good. Very frustrating.

Latest update forces kms instead of miles and won’t sync workouts anymore. I finally installed the latest update last week after having been pleased with the app for several years of tracking runs, biking workouts, walks, and logging lap swims. The latest update is terrible. Voice assistant yells on my iPhone by default. The volume co tells are buried in the setttings after you select a workout type. The voice assistant will only announce completion on time intervals or kilometer intervals. If you prefer miles, you’re just out of luck. And to top it all off, since installing the update I have yet to have a single activity actually sync upon completion and tapping ‘“save.” If you haven’t updated yet, don’t. It was a good app. This version is a major step backward. Of course you can only measure that backward step in kilometers now and you can’t save the workout...
