Well designed. The app is beautiful. The watch is not so distracting so we can allow it to go to school with our first grader. The dim light is because they wear it to bed. My 4 th grade daughter uses the sleep tracker to see how she has slept. It even shows deep and light sleep. After two weeks they are still motivated to get 60 min of exercise, sometimes running around the house for 15 min before bedtime. I do think my kids are fairly active and 60 min is fairly difficult to attain, but I’ve been surprised by they extra effort to do so!

Fun for kids. This app, paired with the vívofit jr, is fun for kids. Three of mine have the watch and they compete to see who can get the most activity. I actually love tracking their sleep. And they want to earn coins for doing hires and homework so it’s a good motivator. There are a few goofy things - occasionally the kids’ time will read incorrectly and it doesn’t want to sync immediately to my phone but usually the problem doesn’t last more than a few minutes. And the games are pretty simplistic, it would be fun for them to develop those with selectable grade-level learning. They still love it, though. And the whole system doesn’t cost an arm and a leg when you know kids are rough on their stuff.

Difficult to complete manual updates. My daughter and I both love her vívofit jr2. The rewards, steps, and activity icons on the watch are a hit. The problem comes when trying to manually update the stats like after I add coins because she has completed her chores. The icon comes up, it shows the top icon (thinking) and sometimes the sync circle appears but the information doesn’t update. When I picked her up today from camp the app automatically updated and I saw her steps and activity minutes. Her sleep stats updated as well. Love the concept behind the app but it definitely needs some bugs worked out. Plus can you make it so parents can send at least 10 reminders? Who came up with 8 it’s such an arbitrary number. I love this feature!

Makes parenting so much easier. We use this app with their Garmin Bounce watches. It keeps track of where they are when they are riding their bikes around the neighborhood. The points we assign for chores equate to how much they earn in allowance, and they are able to mark off chores as they do them, wait for approval from us before the points are given and can see the points add up. We are able to text and voice message them on their watches, which has put off the requests for cell phones for now and has helped us get in touch with them in an emergency now that they are gaining some independence. This has changed our parenting game! I have recommended this to all our friends.

Great watch but time to upgrade Garmin. Could have updated features along with a more smart watch characteristic for children so parents wouldn’t have to upgrade to smart watch for old kids ages 8& up. Because my 8 year old wants an Apple Watch now or any smart watch for that matter. Garmin can come up with a version of smart watch for kids that has gps for parents to track, games to teach time and play for fun, activity tracking, chores, games, rewards for kids the current watch does some of those things but it’s outdated and great for younger kids but now bring something for older technology children. Parents will pay for things that could help make life easier and learning bound for the children at the same time. I can say that this watch helped my kids with daily chores a lot.

Vívofit Jr. Our boys, 13, 11 & 8, love this. They want to see their sleep record every morning. I, their mom, also like looking at how they slept, helps me gauge if they are having sleep disturbances (or staying up all night reading ;) ). They also enjoy having their steps tracked. They are innately competitive with each other and the leaderboard taps into that in a positive way. I appreciate it counting their steps, especially during the school year. It gave me a clear picture on how much exercise they were receiving at school. My one son’s teacher found recess a great time for catch up work in her classroom and it was definitely reflected on my son’s vivofit. I would definitely purchase this again. I have given it 4 stars because the app is sometimes temperamental when syncing.

Should of bought sooner…. I’m a mom of 3 and a school bus driver. My kids come on the bus with me, we’re all out the door by 6am everyday. Having to make sure every single thing is done for all 3 of them and myself can be a stressful task especially when the youngest has a rough night because of teething or whatever is going on with a 1 year old. This app has helped our lives so much, she loves the reminder, getting the coins and knowing what she’s doing at what time! This was the best Christmas present we could of bought her. JUST WISH I BOUGHT IT SOONER!!

Issue with tap challenge - vivofit jr.. My son has a vivofit jr. I saw an update for the app last night (version 2.6) and updated the app. The update mentioned a new tap challenge when you’ve earned your 60 minute activity goal. This included a picture of what I believe the tap challenge looks like. Thanks My son came home and we synced his vívofit Jr. to the app on my phone. It showed that he had earned the 60 minute goal and could make his move on the adventure trail. He made his move, but then we couldn’t figure out how to get to the tap challenge that was highlighted in this update. I tried looking for help on the website, but was unable to find anything on how to get to the tap challenge once the 60 minute activity goal has been met. I chatted online with two different support center chat agents. Nether of them could help me because neither of them had heard of this tap challenge. Clearly I’m missing something or they highlighted a new feature in the app that they didn’t actually add to the app. Other than this issue, my son loves loves loves his vivofit jr. He asked for it for Christmas and we were a little hesitant (thinking why does a 6 year old need to count his steps- he’s a super active kid). But it’s so much more than just a step counter. We love it!

Awesome app!. Love this app to go along with the watch! I love seeing my son’s activity, his sleep patterns and keeping up with his chores. It really motivates him on a daily basis to complete his chores to earn coins and redeem them for rewards we have set up. My only problem, if you can call it a problem, is that he completed all of the levels on the game in 7 months. It would be great if as parents we could set a higher goal than 60 minutes for our active kids. He regularly meets his goal X 4 each day, so he moves through the game quickly and loves it. Maybe there could even be more than 12 levels for kiddos.

Info Needed. PRO: My daughter received this from her grandparents and it is great in that she has become more active wanting the activity points (in the beginning, see cons) and completes her chores without being asked. We have never had issues with it syncing. CONS: The only con I have is that I can’t find any information about the adventure and earning badges, my daughter was so excited that she got her minutes and had received several facts but has never earned a badge. I have searched the internet and can’t find any information regarding when they earn a badge and even get the answer to the facts. Would love to know where to find this and I would rate it 5 stars

How I got stitches in my head. I was going to the pool and my mom is there and my dad and all the kids and my grandma was at her house and I saw a kid doing a front flip into the pool and so I wanted to do it and I did it the next time I tried. I hit my head on the side of the pool and I went to the hops hospital but before I did that, I brought the iPad and I took a drink, and I had some food and then I went there and it hurt. It felt like a needle going through my head which is what what was going on and that is the end the end

Great incentives for more exercise. I love this watch an app for so many reasons. I use it with my seven year old and he is very motivated to meet and exceed his exercise goals daily. He has a friend at school who has one and they like to compete to see who can get more steps. I also love the fact I can set a chore list and can give coins to reward when things are complete. I love that it tracks sleep patterns. We also use the timer to help with transitions such as getting to the bus on time and brushing teeth before bed. I love that it’s simple and there is no camera on it or distracting games. Everything is controlled from the app on my phone. He’s also more aware of keeping time since he got the watch. I would highly recommend it and am planning to get one for my daughter.

Amazing. This app for your watch is amazing I actually put chores I can tell myself what to do this app this app is the reason I have such an organized life because I have a lot of things going on on my plate in this app helps me with everything I’ve put it on and adventure next to my watch it’s as simple as that I got to do and I’m so organized now I get rewards is fair and square I took the money yeah well I don’t take it the app takes it if you do you do awesome it’s extraordinary it helps organize your life as it will mind I have a last things on my plate so how are you get this watch and organize your wireless

Needs some bugs to be fixed. The app is really just okay, but the functionality is there. We are able to track our seven-year-old and communicate with him via his Bounce, which is awesome. However, we often have to force quit the app because the button to record audio messages will stop working, or it won’t load new messages. Finding the various settings are also not super intuitive, and it can be kind of hard to navigate. Lastly, I’ve noticed that I’ll save some settings, but then they revert back to the old settings at some point in the future… for example, I keep turning on school mode, but the app keeps turning it off.

Easy to use, effective. My 6.5 yo daughter loves tracking her activity, steps and sleep! She enjoys the reminders for chores and the chimes when she earns coins. My only input would be this could be improved by: 1) allowing for location tracker so we as parents can see where she is if she were ever lost etc 2) more sensitive motion detector to detect activity. My kid does yoga daily and it counts maybe 1 minute for every 5-10 she does towards her daily activity minutes. 3) a water intake tracker. Something where she could check off that she drank enough water. So far my way around it was to set an alarm reminder to drink water

Almost perfect. Using with my 7yo daughter who has ADHD. I just wish there was a “consequence section” in addition to just the chores and rewards. That aspect is great…to reward chores and such. But I’d like to have a way to deduct points for certain unwanted behavior. I also wish (at least for the bare-bones VivoFit Jr we have) I could change the reminder ‘tone’ b/c it’s become a bit like white noise. My girl will just ignore or not even be aware that a reminder went off b/c the tone is so second nature. But that might be more of a device thing and not so much the app. Bottom line: I love the idea of this. The “move on” via the map are great too…just needs a little more TLC to make it great.

Fit JR 2 used with APP. Encourages child to do chores. It’s fun for the kids. It tracks sleep + activity. Can time brushing teeth!! Or can time anything really, like reading, writing or even time on device. Parent sets up syncing the watch with app, it’s very easy to do and the app walks you through everything. We can determine how many coins each chore earns, and the kids can redeem for “prizes” which are customized by the parent. We can choose the prize and how much coins until they can redeem. Like for us, trip to the Boardwalk is 250 coins, but family movie night is 25. She gets more coins when she does more challenging chores like cleaning hamster cage, and one coin for everyday stuff like homework and teeth brush. Totally works for us and I want a watch now ;) Only thing that bugs me: I wish this had a GPS in the watch!!! I’d pay twice as much for the watch if it had that feature. Would be nice just in case they are missing. More and more kids are missing everyday. With a name like Garmin, I thought that would come standard.

Quick start, kids so excited, but then hiccups. My kids couldn't quit talking about this tracker. They love it! I like how easy it was to set up and get going. I bought 3 for the kids old enough to use them. They love to challenge each other and are more motivated to get things done. My oldest has become unhappy because it doesn't register all of his steps/ active time. The others haven't noticed. My youngest is sad because his game doesn't work. He earns moves for each 60 min but every time we open his game it shuts the app off! The others work fine, but he is stuck earning useless moves. Any help?

Great customer service. We ordered this watch for our 5 year old to help with bathroom reminders at school. She was very disappointed when the watch failed to work upon opening it for Christmas. However, Garmin’s customer service was prompt and sent us a replacement watch immediately. No issues with the second watch. She loves it and it has decreased the number of battles around self care tasks (brushing teeth, going to the bathroom and picking up toys). It has made parts of our day run more smoothly. It is a product I’m happy we purchased. Some suggestions for improvements - *allow for unlimited reminders *more pictures to choose from for reminders - it would be really cool to download your own pictures. At a minimum have pictures that match up with chores (a toilet, a toothbrush, toys, comb, medication etc) *allow chores to be viewed from the watch instead of just the number of chores assigned. *make a Wonder Woman, rainbow or unicorn watch (my daughter and her friends would go crazy over these).

Great watch, frustrating app. We love the watch! But I have a huge issue with the app. When a notification comes through, I just get a generic “Garmin Jr” notification, and when I open up the app there’s NOTHING to indicate what I’m being notified about! Did my kid send me a message? Did her location change? Did she check off some of her chores? Literally the only way to figure it out is to click on everything in the app until you find the new bit of info. There’s no little red number or flag to let you know what to look at, so you just to click around until you figure it out! It is u believably frustrating, especially for an app that we use primarily as a safety tool for our child! Please, please, PLEASE make it clear what the notifications are actually FOR. Aside from this very very big concern, I have no complaints. But this one is huge.

Needs More Flexibility for School Hour Setup. We are big fans of the Garmin watches and the features on the Garmin Connect App. We recently bought the Bounce watch for our child. We like the Garmin Jr. app, and like the “School Mode” feature to limit distractions during school hours. However, you can only set School Mode for 1 specific period of time. I wish the developers would update the app to allow 2 or 3 periods for School Mode that way my child could interact with the watch during the lunch period but not, for example, between 9-12 pm or 1-4pm. PLEASE work on updating the app to allow for this. This would make the app so much better.

Great for positive reinforcement!!!. We use this for rewarding positive behaviors and so our son can “buy” screen time. He has to hit the activity goal to get screen time at all. Only then does he have access to the coins earned by completing chores. He has several things to choose from of various costs- ice cream shop visit, screen time, etc. he mainly uses it to play Minecraft in whatever amount he has in his virtual piggy bank - basically spending all savings every day. I can’t say we are teaching him financial sense, but his behavior is much better!

Love this app. I love this app because you can do different avatars and you get to do chores and then you do your chores and get points and then if you get points you collect more points and more points you get to get new stuff and you can keep changing it your avatar changing your avatar time and there’s a Calendar and you can put like an animal by your foot and it does your running and does your choice check out your chores has a bucket of toys that you have and thank you for reading

Positive reinforcement for fitness and lifestyle. A great tool for building independence and motivating kids, especially early elementary ages. FITNESS- The watch celebrates when kids meet their daily steps and activity goals, and the app allows them to “complete a mission” in a storytelling video game as a reward each day they meet their goals. The fitness features are why we bought it (and they are wonderful) but the chores feature was an incredible extra that we love!! CHORES- The app has a fully customizable chore chart with positive rewards that kids can earn through chores. Chores can be set for a schedule—certain days of the week/times, and even be sent to the watch to remind the watch wearer. One app can manage multiple kids’ watches, and other care-givers can be invited to manage the kids’ watches. When setting up chores for one child, the chore can easily be duplicated to every kids’ profile with a click of a button. This app so many thoughtful features for a family!

This could be a 5 Star App…. As the title said, this app could be a 5-star app. The biggest improvement would be allowing a way for a parent to add activity minutes when their child isn’t allowed to wear a watch (ie: my child’s soccer league does not allow watches). Other than that the app is great! The ability to add/create chores and rewards is great. My child also loves getting his activity minutes in so he gan get a “move” in the game. I still would recommend this app, I just would like to be able to add activity minutes and adjust the daily activity minutes goal.

Could be great...with some tweaks. My kids really enjoy the app. They like to see how they slept, and they love getting clues to discover new animals. It is motivating. The problem I have is that the watch doesn’t always register movement. For example, my daughter is on a swim team and her practices are 90 minutes long. She will get out of the water afterward, and not even half of her practice will register. Same thing happens for other activities, too. It would be nice if there was a way for a parent to go into the activity timer on the app and manually adjust it when things like this happen. It is very discouraging thinking you are getting a clue only to have it come up significantly short through no fault of your own.

Updated review after outage. Update - now that Garmin outage has been resolved we finally have full functionality with the watch. My son loves it and is constantly tracking his activity. I find the chores/rewards functionality very helpful and it’s easy to setup a goal and reward for my son. My only wish is that we could track steps history. You can track history of activity and sleep times but I don’t see steps anywhere. You can only view current days steps. Old -Bought the watch several days back and still unable to connect to the app. Servers have been down (1 star for actually having an outage message in the app). However, not being able to resolve a such a critical issue after so many days seems odd. I guess my 5yr can just stare at the watch till Garmin gets it act together

Love it! Needs one thing. This app is excellent for motivating my kids to track their responsibilities. It gamifies their daily routine and helps them set goals, track them, and stay focused. The problem is that I can’t turn off deleting rewards from their phones. This may be because Garmin doesn’t intend my kids to have the tracking app on their own devices, but I do (and honestly I didn’t know that wasn’t intended all along by the developers). So they have access to the app and can track their chores and check them off on their own phones. But they can also delete rewards and add coins to their amounts. I feel this is a feature that could make the app better for parents and kids. The honor system is ideal, but a dream. I turned on kids mode so they can’t redeem rewards on their own, but they can still do it in the phone. If this stuff was only meant to be accessed through the Vivofit watch, then they should specify that somewhere in the app or other literature about the program. Anyway. Excellent app. I love it. But I’d sleep better knowing they can’t simply add coins. It just needs a parental control upgrade. And if it exists somewhere in the app, I can’t find it.

not as waterproof as they say it is. So yesterday i went to the pool with my spiderman garmin vivofit jr 2 and i've unlocked all the step icons and the badges and completed all of the adventures. It took a whole year to complete. So they say its waterproof and it can handle swimming but i went to the pool with it and i got in the water and a few minutes later, it stopped counting my steps. I thought that was just something happening then but after that i checked the time and thats when it froze and then the screen turned white and purple and started flashing. We get home and we tried to unscrew it and get the water out, but when we screwed it back together, it turned off completely. We put it in some rice to see if that would work and its been a whole day and its still not working. I've had this for more than a year and it was really great and it took me alot of work to unlock everything and now its all gone. Not happy.

Great purchase. My kids love this watch! They are always proud by their active minutes and steps each day. It’s a great way to keep them active. I also like being able to add chores and for them to be able to earn stars. I wish the “chores” section was more general and could be edited to allow for for different rewards. I like to acknowledge other positive things too. It’s nice for their dad to be able to track, too. The only downfall is that it needs to sync with my phone so if I’m not around the data isn’t accurate. Also, had an issue with my daughter’s not syncing and I had to delete and reinstall her profile which lost data. I do like that it also tracks sleep. Overall a great product, and app, for the price.

GREAT For building responsibility and accountability. When you do this in a routine, you have a cleaner house in my responsible children! There coin redemption is for things like going to the park, pick out a movie for family movie night, another quality time redemptions. My eight and six-year-old love it and have helped me keep the house more tidy on a daily basis. Our bedtime routine includes awarding their points for the day. I just wish that it would sink better. I always have to turn my Bluetooth off and back on. Also, I have turn all alarms off of one of theirs and it still goes off three times in the morning even after checking all settings. I wish you could deduct points too. Like if someone get sent to the room and they get a point taken away. Overall, because my children are rewards driven, this has enhanced our life!

App is confusing???. Just bought my 7 yr old son the vívofit jr. and he has been begging me for a step counter for some time now. The watch works fine but I just don’t get the app. The only time it syncs is when we manually do it and my son has to be next to me. Then he gets his activity points and wants to go through the trail to learn fun facts, well he gets a fun fact question and then that’s it, no answer to the question and we don’t get to find out who the animal is??? It’s pointless, where is the animal. I have to say, I’m pretty disappointed for this glorified step counter which we could have gotten a standard one for a fraction of the cost. Need to fix or update the app to work better with the watch.

Great first watch for those not quite ready for apple watch. This is the perfect watch for my 7 year old. I can text and communicate with her, but not have to worry about all the other distractions that come along with an Apple Watch. She loves the preset emojis and the ability to leave voice messages. She enjoys the alarm features that help her be more responsible too. Exactly what we wanted before she aged into a more complex mobile watch. Also fair price and great quality.

Pairing issue with replacement device. Originally I had thought the latest app update had broken the ability to pair, but I was mistaken as our other boys unit pairs and unpairs with ease. We contacted Garmin support and they are sending us yet another device that will hopefully be able to pair with our devices. That being said we have had the Vivo JR since they came out last year and are excited to use the new kids mode app. Oh and with the SW bands, I’m very surprised that the bands do not also bring new band icons to the devices. Come on we paid $40 for just a new adventure? I just assumed new icons would come but no big deal. What I have learned from this whole ordeal though is a new feature to allow complete removal of devices from your garmin connect account. With “grown-up” devices you are able to log in on a “real” computer and completely remove or suspend devices, really helpful for troubleshooting etc. The device has enough hardware features for the price point please do not change this! Especially now that Vivofit Jr. units for now less than $50 in stores! Makes for a great addition to garmin households. One “magical” feature I would adore, but would kill your profits would be to perform a “one-time” “hack” for the Vivofit Jr into a Vivofit. With the amount of bands available your child could conceivably have the same device forever! Our house is full of Garmin so keep them coming!

App is useless. My children each got a vivofit jr. For Christmas. They love them but the app and syncing has not been so good. I have to sync to their watches manually anytime I give them points or for me to see their up to date activity. So the only time I can see their active time or give them points is when they're right beside me and we sync. Kind of pointless when we're not near each other 24/7. The app also has not let me see their activity by day or sleep patterns at all. When I go to the activity page it constantly says loading.. the only thing it will tell me is how many minutes they were active that day. When I go to the sleep page, it says no data. And when I try to do the adventures it tells me an error has occurred. So pretty much the only thing the app has been good for is giving them points for chores... otherwise it's useless.

Great purchase! 7 year old son. Are seven year old received this watch for his birthday. We really like that you don’t have to charge it, it has a year battery life. Our son enjoys all his chores with the reward coin system, (we don’t have to ask him anymore to do him chores). It’s easy to use, very motivating, for example we put a goal of 100 coins to earn a $4.99 new book. You can make the goal anything to fit your child’s interest. The app is user friendly, they earn game time on the app for how active they are throughout the day, the games are fun. We are really enjoying this watch, it a great way to instill good/healthy habits for our children.

Super Frustrating. We have been using Vivfoit Jr. for many months and we were very happy. Few months back however, our Vívofit Jr. 2 started zeroing out the progress my daughter made during the day. She can close the loop multiple times a day and when syncing it would zero out her steps and active minutes. We communicated with Garmin Customer Service, even received a replacement tracker. Today new tracker zeroed out the progress again. I uninstalled the app and after new installation it turned out that my daughter’s progress accumulated during almost a year has been erased and she needs to start from the first mission! She has unlocked 24 out of 26 missions and has badges to show for it, but has to start over now. I don’t believe she will be interested anymore. It is a great app when it works, but inability to address issues and loss of months of progress is crushing for me as a parent and for my daughter as dedicated and enthusiastic user.

Improvements recommended. I have been buying Garmins for 10 years. I have always bought forerunners. I bought the Garmin Jr for my son when he was 7. We are an active family. I wanted him to understand recommended activity and steps but more important I wanted to use the rewards section to help him become responsible. I love the Garmin Jr. but we need more now. He is now 10. I haven’t upgraded because to me there isn’t many features added that I want or need in the Jr 2 or the 3. I would like to see a Gamin built for ages 10-12 Middle School. Or I would like to see access to the Garmin Jr site from another Garmin device. The most important item I would like to see added for that group is workout activity like swimming, pace. I could buy him a fancy one like the one I have but then there will be no rewards system to use and we love keeping track of that. In middle school responsibilities are SO important. He will also be joining track we would like to see his baseline mile 400 etc. I look forward to new items. Thank you Garmin.

Great Product. So far, I absolutely love this product! I bought this for my 7 year old in hopes to get her more motivated and to be more consistent with her every day to day tasks. So far, it’s doing well! She gets really excited about the rewards system. I love that I can choose any amount I want for her to get per task. I really love that it tracks her sleeping as well. My daughter had sleep apnea and being able to know how much deep sleep she’s actually getting and when she is struggling to sleep is very amazing! She really enjoys wearing it. It took some getting used to, but now she’s all about it! I set alarms to remind her to do things like brushing her hair and teeth and to wake up in the morning for school. I give her points for staying on task. It’s working wonders for my baby! I love it! My only complaints are that I really wish it automatically updated more often. Occasionally it does when I’m in close proximity to her and the app is open... but more often than not, I have to manually update it multiple times a day in order to have accurate information... but it’s really not that big of a deal, given all of the other cool perks. I also wish their were more picture icons to pair with the alarms. But ultimately... I’m very satisfied!

Recent updates= less stars. Updated review: I was contacted the same day I left a review by tech staff. They worked to resolve my issues and followed up twice. I’m raising my stars to 4, as I still preferred an older version of this app. But I really appreciated the responsiveness of their staff. We’ve been using this app and the watches for my 7 and 8 year old since March of 2017. The recent updates (in Oct 2017) that change the way chores are added and removed is frustrating. I’ve had to add and subtract chores twice for each child to try and recreate the list we had before the updates started coming. My children and I review chores at the end of each day, before we read bedtime stories. They are keenly aware of their coin count and which chores they are responsible for. It’s aggravating to keep receiving updates that don’t seem to add value to the experience. Instead they add labor on the parents’ end and confusion for kids. Like other parents have mentioned, having an option to go back and give kids credit for chores on a previous day was a helpful feature. Every so often we miss a night of reviewing and they still deserve to receive their coins. It was a super app until the middle of Oct. when these changes kept rolling in. What gives?

Update issues. We used to love these watches and app. Now the app doesn’t keep their pictures or sync any data from their watches from my phone. We originally got them for my family because my step son with special needed to track his sleep. Can’t even do that anymore...The kids have forgotten about points, chores and rewards by now. I asked for new watches because the last ones developed black dots on them. The ones they sent don’t work either. I have emailed, wrote reviews and called. No one seems to care that I have three watches that DO NOT FUNCTION AS PROMISED. I asked for the vívofit fit jr 2s to we sent to our house because CLEARLY the first versions were sold and forgotten. Nobody has responded or contacted me. So I’m out $240 plus tax for three of them and the company doesn’t care. Save your money.

Amazing. This watch and this app is done of the best things you can get for your active or lazy kids. If you have an active kid then this tracks their steps and you can set a goal for them. But if you have a lazy kid then this makes exercise fun because when they are active for a certain amount of time then they give your kid a game they can play. Also you can give them chores and when they get the chores don they get however coins you want to give them, when they get a certain amount of coins then they get a reward. This is the best thing to get for your toddler, kid, or maybe even teenager.

Great idea, but little to keep attention. I think this product is a fantastic idea. Both of my girls have the Minnie Mouse Band. They have to get 60 minutes of activity each day to unlock different parts of the story on the app... However, when they get 60 minutes of activity, all that happens on the app is a “pin” moving to a different spot in the game, and a new “card” which gives them a very short blurb of what happens next in the story , opens for them to read... a blurb as short as “Pete steals a piston from Mickey’s car”.... for 60 minutes of activity, that’s not very exciting. They also get to play a quick game, but it’s been the same game every time. This app would be sooo much better if there was animation that opened with each card, where the characters acted out what he kids were reading on the cards... Different games, or surprise gifts that pop up. We’ve only had this 3 days, and they’re getting bored with the story already. They run around the house trying to get their minutes, and when they finally hit their goal, all they get is a new card to read... I’d love more interaction, greater details in story, and animation of characters interacting with each other. It would definitely make it more exciting and motivating for them to get their activity.

Good but could use some extra features. Got the vívofit jr for my son for Christmas and he loves it. (I’ve had a tracker for a couple of years and he always wanted to track his too). While it does count his steps and give an estimation of his sleep I wish there was a way for parents to add activity minutes for activities not recognized. I took him to a rock climbing gym for about 90 minutes and he only got “credit” for about 20. I’m concerned that it will be the same when bike riding season starts again. If he doesn’t earn 60 minutes he doesn’t get the clue to the game. I also have been taking advantage of the app for tracking chores and rewards.

My daughter’s incentive maker!. My six year old’s vívofit Frozen Elsa watch is the best thing ever! She enjoys it so much. She races to brush her teeth with her two minute timer and then makes her bed dresses and combs her hair within minutes of waking up! She loves earning her chore coins. It has been fun watching her get so excited when she reaches her 60 minute activity goal. She loves unlocking more of the frozen story and playing the games. It is the highlight of our evening watching her enjoy it so much. This girl is use to playing wii and Xbox with more elaborate games. But with the frozen incentive games she is so proud and happy to do because she earned them! I love that she is learning to do her chores with a happy little spirit and getting exercise. She watches her watch and says oh, I better start moving! I love it. This is a great watch for where my six year old is at right now in her young life! Great job!!!

Almost 2 years and still awesome!. We gave this as a 6th birthday gift. It went almost exactly a year before needing a battery. Awesome! Friends bought different watches for their kids that require almost daily charging and those stopped being worn long ago. Best thing about this is the long lasting battery. It goes in pools, lakes, oceans and to camp and school. Holds up great. Simple to use and track. The first band lasted about a year then we bought new ones - easy and inexpensive. Fine with us. Really pleased with this Vivofit Junior!

Garmin Bounce. We bought the Garmin Bounce smart watch for my eight-year-old for Christmas. He loves it …it is easy to track him in the neighborhood when he’s on his bike, I can send him messages. He can only respond to me, my husband, and his grandma. I know that some parents don’t like the fact that you have to have the Garmin app and they just want their kids to be able to text them on a traditional network that will go to their text messages instead of a Garmin notification…this is probably where they will lose the most potential buyers. I wish there was a way to transition to a traditional network when I am ready for him to have more freedom so he can communicate with friends. I think this is good controlled entry level device for communicating . Kids can pick from 20 customizable pre written texts to send or they can record an audio message . You can turn it on school mode to minimize distractions. It automatically turns itself off if you text them while they are at school. The Garmin app is easy.

Fun app, 8 yo loves this tracker. 8 year old has wanted his own since he saw my Garmin Vivofit 3. Our deal was - learn to tell time in analog first with accuracy and it is yours! He loves it and he loves challenging me. App works well, game functions are fun. Only drawbacks -only way to mark off a chore is on app (not his device) and (as a parent) I was looking forward to getting a better sense of his sleep. I can not find a way to manipulate the time to sleep (this is easy to adjust on my Garmin app for my Vivofit 3). There was one night I know for certain (he was sawing logs!!) he was asleep by 8pm. The app said he was asleep after 10. I know it isn’t intended for that function, but was delighted it would gather some data (ish)....except I really can’t count on it being very accurate. If these two things were improved I would give this top marks. This kid is ALWAYS moving...and he loves seeing the steps rack up!

Very good. I really like this watch and corresponding app with a few exceptions. The gps tracking is very accurate. The chores and games are super fun. The only thing that could be improved is when messages come in there is no way to know unless you see the message when it’s sent. There is no notification on the app screen alerting you to an unread message. You also cannot add a family member to multiple accounts. For instance, grandma wants to be on two family accounts but cannot. I also wish that you could type a message when texting, not just a voice or predetermined message. All in all, it’s good.

Kids Garmin. My kids love their watches! Since they got them, they have really learned about time management. They set a daily exercise goal and work hard to reach either their daily minutes of exercise or steps. We have a friendly competition each night on who reached their daily goals. We also give them coins each day for the chores they’ve completed. They trade in coins for things we’ve set up— screen time, ice cream, or a new toy. It’s been a wonderful addition to our lives. Plus, the watches come in fun colors and designs.

Kids love it. The kids love their Garmins and have really enjoyed seeing how active they can be. I find the app a little frustrating at times, it can take a couple of attempts to figure out where a setting is as there is several spots. Also wish you could download a kid only version as when I put it on lock it meant that I couldn’t add things on my phone without entering passcodes every time.

Great watch. This watch has been durable and long lasting. Have replaced the battery once in two years. That was easy to do. The app has great informative animal journeys, a game and lots of gods information about their daily activities. However my son has outgrown the rewards and games. Great for kids under 12.

Great watch. Get the watch get the app good for all ages but the watch is for kids. Garmin let’s you set alarms, chores and competitions between siblings. Make your own family group. Children controls watch parents controls the apps and the app is free on Apple App Store not sure about Google play store. So please get watch and app now it might save you or your parents live. Watch only for children.

Love this App!. This is the best! I can track how many steps my son does a day and the bonus he gets to play a game the more steps he does! My son also has sleep issues and needs melatonin. This tracks his sleep patterns, what time he goes to sleep and wakes which has been a godsend in helping him and assisting his Pediatrician with his sleep issues.

Great product but why can kids edit coins in kid mode?. We love the vivo fits we got our boys for Xmas. It has far exceeded our expectations with the rewards and chores features. I have one issue though why are the kids allowed to edit the coins in the app even when kid mode is on? This means that they can give themselves extra points and even take points off other family members and cheat the system?

So much more than a fitness watch. My 5 year old does not like taking instruction, she is very independent. So I personalised it for her and set up her alarm to go off with each daily task for example getting dressed for school, brushing her teeth, doing her homework. It has made a huge difference to us! It goes off and she’s off doing what it says no arguing for a change. We have set smaller rewards like a lunch order and bigger rewards like going to a theme park. But it has been so so helpful and easy to use. I am also able to track her sleep which I think is great to understand. She also loves the princess game she can play when she’s been active which is always exceeding what her daily target was. We love everything about it.

Thank for all your help today. Help of you help with me and help you get through it with me and you can do that you have no trouble with your family or anything else I have no idea what about your family is doing this weekend lol you know I have to miss you so I don’t know what to do it lol lol I love how it feels so sad for you and your help and I love you all so happy you are happy you and I will have you happy to help me with you too much hope you uiuu u to do it all the day before church so I can do okay and yes

Easy & Fun. Took some time to set up chores, routines and alarms but very easy to figure out. Haven’t had any issues with the app and my children (3 & 9) can use it independently to tick off chores or play games as they accrue rewards. My girls are consistently getting in more exercise purely because of the constant reminder on their watches and this app. The reminders/alarms for chores are also great to keep easily distracted kids on track! Thank you for making my life easier! Would highly recommend.

A good app but.... The app is fine but there are a few things missing. 1. There is no way to change the stepping and activity goals. They are set to 7500 steps and 60min respectively. Setting these for each child would be good. The Garmin Connect app nor this app do not list the vivofit jr device to change the settings. 2. Being able to set coins or trophies to achieve stepping and activity goals is needed. Not just for chores. My son gets motivated collecting coins, stars and trophies. The sleep analysis is good. It convinced my wife my son was actually getting decent sleep!

Garmin kids. My daughter loves this product. We love how it encourages exercise and allows your child to earn points for chores at home. It can be customized to suit any age group. I used to think technology and kids don’t mix but this product is utter genius. Highly recommend for anyone struggling to get their child to clean up after themselves.

Awesome device for kids. Great value and great incentives for kids. High quality product that is easy to navigate (with some help from parents), useful and with great functionality such as chores, rewards and sleep monitoring. Useful fitness tracker with limited other functionality, good for parents who don’t want a smart device

Great motivator for my ASD child. Our psychologist recommended we get one for our 8 year old. It’s great at reminding him to do the little things like get dressed, put shoes on etc... the only thing I would like to see is the ability to add more than 10 reminders (we need to remind him to do everything... and can only do the basics in this app). My son loves it 😊

Great motivator. This app certainly helps to keep the kids on track chore-wise. They enjoy checking off chores and earning rewards. It also motivates them to keep active by keeping track of steps and active minutes. My 8 and 12 year old love earning moves in the game too. I love how I can set alarms for chores/activities on my son’s Garmin Jnr3 so he learns accountability for his tasks.

Garmin review. I got a Garmin it’s fantastic you can put a timer and a alarm on it and also pick chores for your kids and earn money rewards on the Garmin I got a vivifut jnr but it only lasted 1 year battery it times how much you run every hour and your daily steps it also records it on the app so that is a good thing after all I think it’s a good watch for your kids

Great app but,. This is such a great app for kids and adults I love how you do a wide range of things such as set chores, check activity and loads more it is super fun however it is not very accurate with things like active mins and sleep tracking it also doesn’t have very much instructions to pair your garmin. Anyway this is a amazing app and I 100 millon percent recommend this

Great to motivate and reward kids. I use this to motivate the kids (7 & 9) to do basic things like get dressed, make their beds, brush their teeth, do their homework etc. I give them a reward when they reach a certain number of coins. It has been great as a motivator and you can add tasks at any time or take them away. Highly recommend this app and watch.

Awesome. First of all, this app is amazing. It helps you keep track of your GARMIN care, your steps, how well you sleep at night and also there is a fun game to play if you get your goal. I also like how you can set chores for your kids to do and if they get it done you can add money to their GARMIN.

Broken from the start. Forced me to register in another country not the country I live in in the registration screen - at least, that was the only way I could make it work after spending half an hour trying to register the Garmin in Australia- by saying I live in New Zealand (which is where we are now but not where we live or where we bought the device. ) I can’t decide whether this is because the Garmin people are incompetent or if it’s a deliberate attempt to undermine privacy protections by blocking me from registering properly where we live.

Garmin kids. I really love the Garmin and the App it’s easy to use, the kids really love the game. Although We have quite a large family and 4 of our kids have them I wish that they automatically synced to my phone. I have to remind the kids to keep pressing the button. Also as my hubby and I were setting them up he linked 2 to his phone and 2 to mine so I have to wait for him to be around so 2 of the kids can sync and I can see their stats, And I wish it had gps. Over all I definitely recommend this the kids have all the alarms set up and tasks they need to complete it’s great.

Glitch. The app has displayed a big glitch for the past month. The adventure trail for the floral pink and blue kids fit watch is now pixelated and stretched out, and very weird to look at when playing the games and reading clues to guess the animal of the level trail. Can you please fix this?! I don’t want to delete the app incase it deletes 4 months worth of progress that my child has been excited about. Thanks.

7yr old boy present. What a marvellous way to track my son’s daily sleep and activity! Not to mention set up reminders for him to brush his teeth, make his bed, pack his school bag or set the table. Rewards set up and also redeemable too. Best present for both child and parent! Only downside is sometimes it doesn’t pair easily so that can be a little fiddly. Otherwise would have given it 5 stars.

Good buy. It’s good but there’s a bug whenever I use the Garmin to connect to the app to do a sync for the chores or other things it doesn’t work and when I use the activity map the app crashes every time it only works on some devices plz fix but it works for me

Not happy now. Worked well for 2 months or so. Then the screen froze and didn’t unfreeze till 24hours later (vivo watch) then a few weeks later the device stopped syncing. Couldn’t get data blue tooth wouldn’t connect even after resetting my phone, my blue tooth, re downloading the app and trying to re sync the watch to the phone. Doing the trouble shooting with the watch Garmin asked. The watch still registered numbers but can’t use the app as it doesn’t register anything. Obviously watch is still working but not for what I wanted it for . To track sleep and steps.

Great app!. I think Garmin is a fun, creative app to get kids to learn, do chores and stay healthy by being active! One thing I personally love about it is I can track my sleep and challenge me, my little brother and my dad to most steps or most active minutes!!! Overall Amazing app which if you have the watch you should defiantly get!!!!!!!!

Vívofit jr.. Loved the challenges and the way the app was made. I really have to admit that the app is really excellent for kids watches. I love the app 100 percent. Really good and fun app because you get to see what what animals you are learning about. Good job for those people who made the app. Well done you guys! I love going on the app and ticking the chores. I have so much fun! This app deserves to be on adds. I go on the app everyday to see how I am going. I love how the app was made and I love the watch’s. I go on the app on my mums phone everyday because the app is on my mums phone. And I love my watch so much. My mum got my watch

Suggested functionality. My kids love their watches and the app. Just a suggestion on improved functionality: it would be great if when you add the app to a child’s device in kid mode you were able to choose which child to show. Currently it shows all children in the account meaning a child can use their siblings loves or tick off their chores etc, only seeing their own account would help avoid family arguments! Thanks..

Sceptical at first but I’m won!. Didn’t think these were worth all the fuss initially as I’m old school some times with watches etc, but after being able to encourage movement and activity in an interactive way has us all doing more. Love the sleep tracker. Probably some room for improvement with the adventure game but haven’t had it for a week so will give it time!!!

Great product. My son has ASD and I bought this hoping it would help with his independence. We have alarms for his self care and medication and the reward system is great. He has responded really well to it and I have just bought another one for my other son. The app was simple to use, I had no problem setting it up.

Good app. Good app and product, I’ll echo the 1 year old request for limiting child access to each other’s accounts. Beyond the activity section so they can compare themselves it really isn’t useful to give them access to each other’s chores, account settings, game, alarms etc... One other feature I’d love would be the ability to include steps from both my wife’s and my own Apple Watch. I know it’s unlikely as Garmin want sell their own devices but we’re not going to wear two trackers daily just for this, but we’d happily pay an in app purchase so we can compete as a family with them able to see our steps in the app on their iPads.

Adjustable Active Minutes. Great device, the app isn’t too bad either. One addition we would love is being able to adjust the ‘active minutes’ from the parent app. Reason being is that when my son bike rides it doesn’t record him as being active. I’d like to be able to give him the ‘minutes’ he earned on the bike. Thanks

Excellent buy!. Bought my 5 & 7 year olds these watches for Xmas and they have been an instant hit. They have never been keener to do their chores either and after a couple of weeks they are into a good routine. I have a Garmin Smart Watch and they are always trying to beat my steps and to gain their intensity minutes each day. The only downside is the stretchy band. I tried to get the adjustable band but was all sold out before Xmas. The stretchy is ok for now but they will soon grow out of them and hopefully I can get an adjustable replacement. The kids like the app, is easy to use and has some exciting options as they progress levels. It does use up my phone battery when running in the background though. Overall very happy and would highly recommend.

Cool watch for kids. The kids (5 & 7) are enjoying using their watches and I love seeing their activity and sleep patterns! It’s pretty fun gadget and being swim and shower proof is perfect for this age group. They are easy for the kids to use too. If you want a watch for your child anyway, the bonus of the activity tracking and chores and being swim proof is totally worth it, all at a reasonable price.

Vívofit jr. I think it's a great app but they need to have more screens cause it can get a bit confusing. I think they should add more things to the avengers game like each space you get to fight, otherwise it helps me go outside more instead of watch tv. there should be a setting for different sports and volume because in the middle of class my watch beeps. I think that they have also done a great job on the app well done and I suggest that you get it.

Vivofit star wars. My daughter really loved her animal vivofit adventures but sadly that device broke and so we decided to buy the Star Wars version. The fitness part of both is the same and gives her steps, minutes of movement and we can reward and redeem coins based on chores etc The Star Wars adventures are fun but not as interesting or as different as the animal challenges. She also wonders what the gems do... We hope to find out soon.

Garmin. I choose 5 starts because you can do nearly do anything, from telling time to setting timers and on your phone the app will let you play games . This watch is so so so great because my friends even ask me if they could borrow tell lunch time it’s that great so that why you should get the Garmin bye. 🌻

Steps data doesn’t quite match the date. After downloading the new version of app, you need to go to two different places to check their activities and steps. (Prefer the past that you click in to one place and can see them all) The steps has been messed up to show the data of the day, for example it’s only 9.30am today, but the steps already shown up to 10 ”PM” , which might be the data for the previous day. While the activities and sleeps both show the data of previous day. (In the past it all matched) Is there an option for undo the redeem reward, as sometimes click on the wrong reward in a hurry.

Something went wrong error. Had the “Something Went Wrong” error after the update. Fixed it by uninstalling and reinstalling app. Otherwise a great app. Would have liked the option to export data to be used by a third party app such as Stridekick so child can compete in challenges with friends and family using other trackers.

Garmin jr. It’s such a great app and I love it so much it has so many different features that I have been using it way to much my name is Harlee Powdrell I am addicted to this app and the games are so much fun to play and my friend has this app and she is in love with this app and it keeps my friend busy all day long it’s so hard to stop playing it we rate it five stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Highly addictive for the kids. I bought the Garmina for both my kids but really only one of them wanted it. I’m surprised by how much they both love the devices and doing chores around the house to get their active minutes up and earn coins. The sleep info has been insightful

Amazing!. This is amazing! I love the feature of the different steps icons! I love the activity and sleep trackers, the timers and and all that stuff! Great job! I recommend adding icons for mor e things to make your Garmin more customisable! Like changing the timer, stopwatch and star icon/s! Being able to see why you got, say, coins would also be good! Thank you!

Great app. My 2 children (5&7) got the garmins for Christmas. We have been loving the app. They love tracking their steps, ticking of chores and seeing how much sleep they have had. The app makes it so easy and the added bonus of the games has really added to all the excitement. Good that games are limited too so only get an extra game if they have been extra active.

Minor issue. Vívofit jr. is the most convenient device for children to have. Encouraging all ages to get outside and be active. My Brother and I have widely enjoyed it! Although recently we have came across a “something went wrong” error message on the app. This error has also been carried over to activity where we can no longer view the steps. I am unsure if anyone else has also been experiencing this unusual behaviour but without this, the app is extremely good. Yet could someone please recommend a way to solve this issue?

It is AMAZING!!!. It is amazing this watch has given me more reason to be outside and getting fresh air. It is soo fun being able to get goals with running and walking and being able to track your sleep! This watch and app is soo cool you have to get this watch and this app it is amazing☺️

Split profiles?. App looks good, I am frustrated with kids login in their own iPads. I’m hoping they can access their profiles but they can also access each other’s which could lead to problems with coins and use of the adventures later... anyway to take a profile off the app without taking it out of the account? I know the solution is to set up a seperate log in with my wife’s name but then the kids won’t be able to see each other in leaderboards...

Good, but.... I love this app, but after a month or so, I am not able to go into the adventure. It would just stay on the loading screen and I couldn’t get my moves. Also, even when kid mode is on, kids can still edit their coins, say they did chores even if they didn’t and edit rewards to make them cheaper. And how do chores work? Kids can just say they did chores whenever they want. It’s basically just getting free coins every day. Also, one of my main concerns is that kids can edit there coins. I suppose it’s meant to be secret, but what if the kids tap the button and go from 100 coins to 1000 coins. But my main concern is that after a month, it won’t go into the adventure map. I got three moves but it will just stay on that loading screen for the map and I would just wait like 5 minutes and then eventually leave the app. I hope you respond because otherwise I will have to take extreme measures and delete the app. Then I’ll have to reconnect the Vívofit watch and lose all my data. Please respond

Amazing. Me and my child love this app! It’s really easy to work and just so fun it’s customisable and the set out is really good. My daughter had the Mickey Mouse Vivofit Jr watch and it is really good. She says her highlight is playing games with her friends on the watch. I have a Garmin too so we can do challenges. Sometimes the watch is 1 min behind but I can solve that by syncing it. I think syncing is easy. This is def a 10/10 Thanks Garmin

Great gift for a growing and responsible daughter. We picked this up for our daughters 8th birthday, we think it’s a good step into being more independent and responsible whilst delaying a phone (and in itself proving if they are ready for one in a few years) we enjoy the notifications and the challenges, activity tracking and sleep record. The UI is intuitive and easy to navigate and use. Our daughter is into sports (as is me, her dad) so she wanted to track her steps, activities, etc and this was a good step into the wearables realm. The subscription is a bit steep I think, but not much I can do about it, it’s a bit cheaper when you pay in advance. Battery is ok, but could be better, it currently lasts a day at school and she charges it just before going to bed whilst she is getting ready. I recommend it for parents who are looking to introduce kids to more tech but not ready to open the door to phones

Viviot jr.. This watch is very useful watch. With me doing activity every day, it tells me when I have done enough activity and play the game on the phone. I try and move my legs on class so I can get more steps and get more goals. I try and be as active at lunch brakes so I can get more goals and so I can have more fun playing the fast motion game. On the bad side, I thinks it needs to have a battery that plugs into a wall and you can charge it over night so you don’t need to buy a new button battery. But it is a very useful watch telling when you are in your light sleep and when you were in your dark sleep. Also telling you what time you wake up and go to sleep. All thanks to the creator of the app and the watch. 🤟👏👍👍👌💪

Virofit junior. My 6 year old absolutely loves this watch, he’s had it 9 month now and still loves it, he loves getting the gold coins for doing chores, I set my own list just brushing his teeth, helping at home etc, he loves the step count and playing the games on my phone, also the fact it tracks sleep is great, his little friend had just recently just got one and he thinks it’s great that he can compare steps with him, challenging each other, I’ve never wrote a review for anything before but totally love this watch and feels it needs a review defo 5 star

Vívofit junior. This app is an excellent way to encourage and inspire children to keep fit and active. With the idea of having a reward when challenges are completed, delights children and only encourages them to do more. There have been no problems so far, and it has proven to be a safe, trustworthy app that allows children to have fun, and exercise at the same time. As well as counting steps, and timing periods, the Garmin also connects with devices and allows children to play mini games and level up once they have reached a certain amount of steps. Personally, my favourite part about Vivofit junior, is that you can set chore alarms to remind your children of when to complete a certain task. You can also pick an animal or emblem to represent the chore. Over all, Vívofit junior is a fun, creative app that encourages and inspires young children to keep healthy and stay active.

Garmin bounce. This is a good watch the only thing I don’t like is the delay you get when trying to find the location of your child. Also, there are times when in remote areas that you can do a locate.

Nice. I Really like this but do the bounce watch is Waterproof thank you again.

Best purchase I made for my peace of mind. The Garmin Bounce is seriously the best purchase I could ever have made. My kids are getting some independence and an 80’s summer without their mother hovering over them. I’m getting to relax in a quiet house without children begging me to take them all over the place. And I can check in on their location at any time or message them to come back or whatever. I’ve set up pins for all their hot spots around the neighborhood and I’m sent a notification any time they come and go from all over the place. They’ve used the emergency alert function once when at the park and we knew they needed help quick when a friend had fallen off a piece of playground equipment. Seriously worth every cent.

Amazing!. My kids love the watch and the app!!

Woch. Is good

Good. I love it so much it’s fun and helps on a watch!🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍

Great device. Happy with this watch for my kids

time. i can’t adjust the time on my child’s watch

Not dependable. The watch and app are inconsistent for our family. Support is also slow. Defeats the purpose if we can’t depend on it.

So good for kids. It’s really fun has chores and a lot more

Having trouble with location reporting!. We purchased two watches for our two boys and one of the watches is having trouble letting us know the child’s location!

Jeu redondant. Un seul jeu qui se répète

Bounce. For my 10 year old, easy to use, peace of mind you can communicate with voice chat or prerecorded messages. Kid can check in. Only con is the battery life is very short and rans within 6-8hrs

It’s ok. Need to be able to set more timers

Super APP pour responsabiliser les enfants. Facile à utiliser, ludique et très motivant pour un garçon de 7 ans.

Best app. Amazing game with my friends and family for fun

Garmin JR lacks flexibility. When posting and redeeming rewards, if you customize one there isn’t away to repeat it. Also more importantly there should be a redemption history. For example if I customize a pair of shoes, I want to have a record of the redemption. Also would be great to have a “lay-away option”. In short I try to reschedule my kids the value of money through points. It would be better if Garmin redesigned the program for this as most children do not understand the value of money. Help our kids succeed as adults!

Both. This app sucks so much I almost burnt my phone

The best. I love it

Great app. Now that I have my own device I downloaded this app so that my mum doesn’t control anymore I also convinced my sister and now I control hers too!

Ideal. The Garmin Bounce was exactly what I needed for my 9 year old. The app is super easy to use.

Chores tracking and alarms keeps kid organized. I have a very disorganized kid. The alarms and chores reminders have been great to keep the kid organized.

Great for kids who are wanting a little more freedom. So far love it! Would really like if there was an iWatch compatible app to receive notifications on though.

Great option to keep in touch with kids while they be kids. Got watches for our two kids as an alternative to a cell phone. Have been using them consistently for a month now and so far very happy! Kids are happy with the independence and its great to see them get outside.

Kid loves it! Room for a few more features.. Overall my daughter loves it. She’s 3. She hears her goal beep on her watch and she asks right away to check the game. If they don’t reach their time goal, just steps, there’s nothing to do though. The game moves a little slowly with one move per day but she seems to like it. I wish there were better options for step challenges! Seems unfair to go steps for steps with a toddler (although she does sometimes beat me!) Maybe best percentage of goal? I like the idea of the chores but I haven’t put it to much use yet. I like that you can have it on more than one phone. This allows my parents to bring up the game for her when she’s with them. All in all it’s a great way to get my toddler aware of her movements.

Love this. Perfect for kids

Très intéressant. Correspond à mes attentes

Yes. I like it I chat w/ my child

Amazing app for families to get active. Plus it’s good just for one kid too

If you get a Garman watch, this is the best app to useH. It has games on it and you can track your sleep track how much you move. Love it would 10 out of 10 recommend

Fun so fun. Fun so much fun

Poo. Poo

I love this. I love this app it helps so much

Needs some improvements and updates. Love the idea. Love being able to be in contact with my son. But lots of communication errors. Always having to close the application out and relaunch it to actually see that my son messaged me. There had been times where he has been in a troublesome situation and tried to message me numerous times but I most of the time do not get the notifications and have to keep checking and closing out the app to see. Other than that I love it. I just am really hoping you guys can fix these bugs. Or I have been thinking of canceling and just going with a normal phone and plan. I just through this was so perfect. Thank you for your time. Kyle webb

The Garmin Balance is a winner!. At one point we used it with a Vivi Jr and upgraded to a Balance GPS Watch for my 11 year old. Huge improvement!

Cool app. Awesome to use

Motivating and fun. My children are enjoying the app and the watch

Good and fun. I really like this app. It’s very helpful!

Fun!. I know this is an early version of the app, so there is still room for improvement, but so far my kid and I have been enjoying the app.

Surprised how many functions this has. Our son asked for this for Christmas. At first it seemed a little lame but we went for it anyways. Our son loves watching his activity bar fill up and it’s encouraged him to get in as many steps as he can. It has a reminder to get up and move if you’ve sat for 1 hour. You can program reminder alarms for chores/music practice/homework etc, from your phone app. The more things they complete you can choose to reward with coins that they can cash in for incentives. He loves the Star Wars adventure that he can go on. Each day he fills up his activity bar, he earns another step in the adventure that he can read about.

Great. Because it is

Way better than other smart watches. Whoever made garmin for kids with the chores/games is a genius, adults need a similiar version!

Good. This app is great! I do struggle with it connecting with my daughter sometimes and the messages not going through. But otherwise, it’s been a life saver!

It’s Good but not great. I like the idea of the watch more then the actual product itself. There isn’t enough options for predisposition texting, kids can’t type and only use voice chat. Lots of lagging in term of “live tracking” and not enough emojis. I think it’s good for kids that are 5-6yr but not 9-10.

Garmin Jr. Amazing app great for kids

Vivofit Jr 2 failed to sync correct date and time. Our Vivofit Jr 2 drained batteries very quickly. We replaced the batteries but now the date and time are INCORRECT! We’ve tried everything including unpairing/repairing the Vivofit Jr 2, deleting and recreating the profile. NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!! 👎👎👎👎

Great app for motivating kids!. My daughter loves to check out the new games on the app after she has completed her 60 minutes of activity. After she has played the latest game on the app she will check to see if she has a new step icon.

Good for 7yr old. My child enjoys being able to send and receive messages with guardians and keeping track of steps! We are happy that we can see where they are and send a message when we need to. The silent feature for school is good to keep them distraction free.

Works well. We’re able to text and keep in touch with the Garmin Bounce. Reliable and we use it every day

Can’t install latest update. Not sure what’s going on. Trying a dozen of times and after syncing for 30 seconds it says that the update failed.

Fun!. My 9 year old has a Garmin watch and loves making sure she hits her goals as often as possible to get her “moves”. We do her chores and coins together, then we play the games together. We love the new games and the different challenges. My daughter likes earning new watch faces too! The older version did not motivate my oldest at all. It was facts about ocean creatures, cool and educational, but not motivating to earn more facts. She had 121 “moves” that were all facts… she got bored and lost interest.

Great for what we needed and then some!. We wanted a watch with tracking abilities and limited communication within the family only. This 100% delivered on that, plus the chores/reward mechanism has been an added benefit. Could be better if it was a standard usb C charger instead of a proprietary cable that I have to make sure we don’t lose.

Motivating For Young Kids. My daughter had been complaining about going outside to play after spending so much time home due to the pandemic. This tracker has been helpful in motivating her to be more active again. She is always excited to meet her activity goal and for her next move in the app. She also really enjoys the reward system and is frequently looking for more chores to do. I’ll take any help I can get!

Great motivator!. These activity trackers are really helping my six year old twins get motivated to do their summer reading and household chores. I love that we can set alarms with their reminders. My only dissatisfaction is that it is difficult for both parents to administer coins because one person can check off a chore and it doesn’t always sync with the other parent’s app. This then causes issues with coin counts on the actual bands where they will change depending on which parent they are physically closest to.

Perfect for kids. My daughter loves her Vívofit Jr 2 and wears it everyday! It helps us keep track of her activity and her sleeping which is great. The feature I like the most is that she can have reminders set for chores in order to gain coins that she use for other activities. I really wanted to purchase a Fitbit for her but I spent a few weeks before I purchased this one and I’m glad I chose the Vívofit Jr 2 over the Fitbit Ace. The app is more kid friendly and the watch is simple to use.

All three kids love it.. I don’t like to go outside so I struggle to make the kids go outside. This has been a great help. I love how easy the app is and that it is shareable. I can watch the progress on my phone but have the app linked to their school tablet so they play the app on their tablet. It’s nice that their profiles are all on one screen and not a log in-log back out of each person set up. I love the chore aspect. The kids pay attention to it and love it when the coins go into their account. Thank you for the app ❤️

Behavior Mgmt tool. I love this app. I've used it to award late nights, Starbucks, toys, movies and more. It's been helpful in teaching my kids that nothing in life is FREE! They have to earn everything and they are rewarded based on their efforts. My kids now think twice before getting a toy, eating out, or going on an outing😂! They try to save their points! I even doc points for talking back, lying, and not doing chores! I ❤️❤️❤️ this app

Great overall. We have been very happy with the app (and the watch overall). My only complaints are the badge notifications don’t show up which would be nice to have. Also, sometimes we have to close and reopen the connect feature in the app in order for new messages to show up even after getting the notification for them. These two fixes would make the app 5/5 😊

Works. This app works for what we need. I do wish that I could do it all from my regular garmin connect app and didn’t have to have this separate app for my daughter. I also wish the battery lasted longer on the Bounce - it is always dying at annoying times. A low battery alert at 10% warning doesn’t do me much good if she just left for school….. it’ll be long dead before she gets home

Great for kids. I think this is great for kids... but why can’t they have friends linked like on Fitbit?! We have cousins and friends who have this Garmin Jr (many we talked into buying it) and they thought they’d be able to compete for steps against each other but can’t. Such a bummer!! Love the clock, Calendar, timers, stop watch, activity, and chores/coin rewards.. but we need that friend connection link!!! Love the battery last a year. This is our second one (last one died after 2 years and a cruise).

Great tracker for kids!. My husband for these for each of our kids for Christmas. The battery should work for about a year and doesn’t require charging - a huge pro. The kids can track steps and active minutes. I really like being able to award coins/points as they complete daily chores. This is really working as a great motivator for activity and their daily family contributions.

Good for chores, basic sync for individual kids (tip for sync trouble). Good: Chores, individual kid sync Bad: Seems like garmin doesn’t want parents AND kids to own Garmin products. There is no advantage to a parent owning a Garmin too. May as well buy a Fitbit. Should I return my Garmin? I assumed my kids could challenge me in the kids app, but it doesn’t. Garmin - please make these changes ASAP: 1) Make a way for parents & kids and their friends can share SLEEP and step data. 2) a way to challenge MY FAMILY with another family. Wouldn’t that generate more sales? 3) I want to show me, my wife, my kids sleep in ONE app. If we have 4 Garmins why aren’t you guys enabling that? Get it together Garmin. Make it happen. For people who are having trouble syncing on iOS: Mine doesn’t work either when I push the button with Bluetooth on. To fix: 1) while syncing with your Garmin, turn OFF / ON the Bluetooth on your iOS device 2) win

For kids and people who have hard time motivating themselves. For kids AND for people who have hard time motivating themselves. It helps you stay track of your goals and it feels good to see all the small victories and rewards in one place rather than writing it down in a journal then wondering you last placed your journal.

Adventure moves stopped working. My daughter has had this device since Xmas, so 5 months. For the past 2 days she has exceeded her steps goal and therefor should have earned 2 moves in the adventure. However they are not showing. We’ve synced the device several times. The steps are showing. But no available moves showing. It frustrating because she looks forward to earning new little screen icons. And without earning those, it’s losing its luster. Anyone else have issues with the moves not generating? Any suggestions? I haven’t been able to find anything in the internet that helps.

Great app, only missing one feature. Great app, only missing one feature. Our pediatrician recommended this for a sleep tracking however it only tracks sleep during one block of time during the day. Nighttime, or whatever hours we designate. That said, it does not track naps as they fall outside of the sleep hours we have designated. Otherwise a well thought out app!

Perfect tech for kids with just enough to be cool and enough controls for parents.. As an IT professional and parent this device and parent controls is an excellent choice for any parent who wants to get their kids a smart something but also be able to manage their access to social media etc closely.

Syncing issues. We have a lot of issues with the device syncing. We need to do a manual sync every time, however this can only be done through the device itself. It would be nice if there was a sync feature through the app as well so it can be a 2 way street when you need to force a sync. Having said that, having to do a manual sync should be the exception, not the rule. Other types of devices also let you set up how frequently to sync (ie every hour, etc). Beyond these issues, we love the vívofit, jr, but use the app features much less because it’s such a pain to update.

Best watch for kids out there!. Amazing watch I’ve always used Garmin but this is even better the fact that I could have it for my kids and still be able to talk with them while tracking them if need be when they’re out and around the neighborhood with their friends. Both my girls love using them.

Love love love. Bought this for my daughter as a beginner smart watch but also a way to communicate with her and use the live tracking when camping. It is beyond what I expected! She’s loves it, the family loves being able to message with her and not have to go through my phone, and the tracking is so cool. We are able to give her some freedom and still feel comfortable with contacting and seeing her every move. I highly recommend!

Great app. My kids love this and it keeps them active. One suggestion, rarely I see the app prompt my boy to do jumping jacks. I would love more things like this and more often. Also, could you introduce a little more variety of games? I worry Punching little pop ups will get old after a while. All in all, great app and I will recommend to all!

We’ve Enjoyed but.... We’ve really enjoyed this watch. My seven now eight year old has had his Jr for over a year without issues. He finished the game at the same time the battery died at 13 months of use. Love that the watch never needs to be recharged. We stoped using the chore list but he loves the step count. It’s helpful to see his daily habits and sleep patterns. I wish it had more than one alarm setting. It would be more handy as a reminder for bedtime and in the morning for waking. That’s the one aspect that easily be updated in the app...more alarm options.

App’s pretty good, could be better. That app is ok. My little one gets excited when she earns coins, but she’s getting bored because every game/level is especially the same. I wish there were more games for her to play with each level she completes. The only other issue I’m having is she has to push the wifi button almost everyday. All my other apps remain connected to my devices. I would be happier if I could give her coin and make her watch chime without having to ask her to push the button for it to connect....really ruins the fun in it. I’m look at getting a Fitbit for kids.

Mostly awesome!. I bought a Garmin Viviofit jr for my son and loved it so much that I got another one for myself! Things I would like to see improve: To be able to send updated info to the app without having to open the app. For example, my son could send me his info while he is at school. Also, when looking at sleep data it would be a nice option to be able to manually enter or change your sleep time, like if it thinks I went to bed at 9 but I really didn’t go to bed until 11. I love the kid band as it is stretchy and has no clasp. I also like the adult band as it’s easy to adjust and they come in some fun colors! I also love love love that this tracker doesn’t need to be charged! The app is very user friendly and appropriate for kids to use!

Loved, then disappointed.. My daughter received one of the watches as a gift and she loved it so much we got one for her brother. They wore them constantly, set timers, did their chores, and earned rewards. I checked on their sleep when they were moody the next day and would find they had a restless night. With the recent updates the watches will no longer sync to my phone. So we have lost most of the purpose of these watches. Which is a huge disappointment.

Love. My son loves his watch he’s 6. He love it being able to track his steps and active minutes & likes playing the game that goes with the active minutes. I love being able to know that he got to school and after care fine and love getting the notifications for it. I love the school mode on it too bc my son won’t stop playing with things when he’s not supposed to. I wish it had a longer battery life and that he could call me on it. But it’s works for what I need for now.

Great motivator. Really great motivator for my son. He loves earning coins and seeing how many active minutes he can get. The only thing I would change is the ability to add like “practice” or “run” so that way the older kids could keep up with those things. My son is getting into long distance running so an activity tracker that kept up with his runs like mine would be good

Great device and app. All of my kids got a vívofit jr for Christmas and they love it. A lot a healthy competition is going on in my house. I love the chores on the app and the kids love to get coins and rewards. One thing I wish we could do was to manually change the activity level. My kids do basketball and ballet. They aren’t allowed to wear their watches during this but clearly they are getting exercise. I’d love to be able to give them credit in the app. That would be a great feature to add.

Fulton the superhero. Fulton the superhero! He was magical, the best guy ever. Fulton delivered presents around the world. He came from the sky on a sleigh. He used balloons to send presents down to the children. When he got older, he became Santa Claus. He was famous for powers. He could make it snow and when he saved every one from the robots. He unfreezed the winter that the robot made. He was so magical, he could make a whale live on land. He had a puppy who was named Winnie the red nosed reindeer.

Step Tracking/Adventure Error. We purchased the Star Wars Vívofit for our son for his birthday less than a month ago. It worked very well in the beginning, and now it will not keep track of his activity on the app, and we cannot access the “adventure” at all. We have tried everyday for almost 2 weeks and continue to get an error message. The watch itself does let him know if he exceeded his move goal, but it will not transfer the information over to the app. Giving him his earned “coins” from the app to the watch does work, so I know it is paired correctly. Very frustrating, especially with the watch being so new.

Good overall. My main complaint is the “find my watch” feature is Bluetooth only instead of gps. My kids watch was taken from a student at school while it was left inside the desk. Child kept playing with it and had it down to 1%. Couldn’t really find it because that feature is Bluetooth. Good thing I was able to get inside the school and find the watch by getting close enough to it.

Wonderful! I’d like a few tweaks though.... We are loving this app and the Vívofit jrs. However, I feel like in order to help kids who aren’t as active we should be able to change the settings to help motivate them. If you can only ever get the Adventure steps if you get 60 minutes then the kid who has to work hard to get 40 minutes isn’t going to be motivated if they never get rewarded for the effort they do put in. (I mean, yes, ideally, they would, but some kids aren’t.) In other words, more options please!

Christmas Disappointment. I got to two of these for my kids for Christmas and followed the app instructions but it kept crashing; said it had trouble connecting and then would freeze but then when I opened it again it had multiple accounts for my children. I couldn’t get past the screen to upload a photo for them. To make it worse, the app popped up a notification that an update was available and to go to the App Store for the app by clinching “update” but upon clicking it takes you to the App Store without the ability to update. Both kids’ excitement for these watches which they’ve been wanting for months was completely destroyed by these glitches.

Frustrated. Love the app except it doesn’t like to update. First 24 hours of having it, it updated very quickly. Since then (5 days later, we’re lucky it it updates before the kids go to bed. They can be sitting by us for an hour and nothing or be upstairs and it updates. We’ve tried with and without wi-fi turned on. We really like knowing their sleep habits the most. The kids like knowing their steps and getting coins. They don’t really care about anything else really. Update: now the app won’t update even after pressing the buttons on the junior fits. Great watch for time and steps but a lousy app.

Fantastic concept, needs some work. We bought the vívofit device with some higher hopes and while it’s a very promising concept, it’s lacking in some critical features that would make it stellar. First, there’s no way to earn rewards based upon activity, it’s chores alone. Would be great to be able to set and adjust activity goals and earn coins for reaching those goals. Next, there’s no way to see what rewards have been claimed so if my child says they redeemed for more screen time there’s no way to validate that fact. Finally, this would immediately earn 5 stars if it could integrate over to mycircle for the Disney circle device so that when a screen time reward was claimed it would push the reward to mycircle which would then automatically add their screen time. The mycircle portion of the api exists, other apps do it so just need garmin to get on board. Would have easily paid double for the device with these features.

Amazing app!😄. This app is amazing and my oldest daughter loves it. I’m thinking of getting the middle child one for her birthday or Christmas. It’s so fun to play with and the games are awesome, and it helps me them finish their chores before playing at the pool. It also helps that it is waterproof so you can wear it in the pool/shower and it doesn’t affect the app from the water. Lastly, it’s fun that my daughter can compete with her friends that have the watch like daily/weekly steps. I rate this a 5 with a happy smile on my face.😁

How vívofit is awesome. What I like about vívofit is that your watch tracks your exercise then you get to go on a adventure and learn a new fact about the animal you’re going to get as your badge. Also you get cool animal badges you see if you guessed right or wrong or you didn’t know. Finally sometimes when you try to get your watch to sink with your iPad,iPod,phone and computer or anything else it is frustrating. As you can see that was my opinion of vívofit. Thanks for reading.

Great for token economies!. We have a token economy for our 2 neurodiverse kids and young neurotypical child. They can see their coins and are excited to earn more to get rewards. I also love that they are more active and running around to try and get more steps! Literally, running laps to get steps! I would like to see a separate setting for rewards and chores and then be able to assign them instead of going in each kid’s accounts if I want to change something.

Great. This is a great app for kids to exercise and do chores and lots of other cool stuff.I really like that there is a game for kids to play as a reward for exercising for an hour.I also really like that there is different colors and things you can chose as a design when you buy it and it can come in a watch a band and a lot of other awesome stuff. Thank you Garmin for making this really cool app. 💖

Love it…with a few tweaks. I wish the explorer game element had audio for kids who use it not old enough to read I wish the sync could be triggered without touching the watch (we lost a watch because my daughter buried it in the sand and I could not get it to make a noise) OR some way to gos locate it in an emergency Other than that, I love it and my kids love it. No battery to recharge constantly. Coins for chores. Sleep tracking. Steps. Activity. Really everything you want to positively reinforce with your kids is in this watch.

Q&A. I have a question and a great review. But first, my question: you all know about the newest Garmin in release, right? The Garmin jr. 3? So, I was wondering, what happens when you sync it through this app? What would happen? I want this answer as soon as possible because I need to know before I get them for my kids. And then I will leave my review.

Review from a thrilled dad. This app is super awesome and allows you to track your a part of your child’s health while making it fun for them. Since COVID and having my daughter only doing a few days a week in school and the rest from home, it became important for us to make sure she moved more and did some exercise. This app was the perfect way to track her activity and sleep and was very user friendly

Pretty alright. It’s cool. My kids love seeing who got the most steps in a day. The little game part is Ok, they get bored of playing the same game over and over though, it would be cool if there were like 3 or 4 different games it would rotate through. My kids wish there was a screen on the phone app that would keep track of their record highest steps day and most activity minutes day, and then give them a little fireworks screen or something on their watch when the beat their previous max.

My kid loves it. My 6 year old daughter easily gets distracted and needs constant reminders to do daily tasks. It is annoying for both of us. With this Vívofit Jr. she loves doing things on her own. Earnings coins to get rewards is very motivating. Now she tells me that she brushed her teeth and got ready for school without me saying a thing! She also likes knowing how active she is during the day. She will run around the house just to reach her active goal.

Functions are great but have trouble with service. I love the ability to track via gps and communicate with my daughter (bought for 9 year old). It’s durable and fast charging. I like that there are preset messages she can send but if needs to say something different can audio record. I do have trouble with service or messages not going through and that is frustrating for both of us.

Kids love it!. Vivofit Jr. 2 is a huge success among 7-yr-old kids. The chore reminders help remind my daughter of bed time, reading time, feeding the pets, etc... I have also appreciated the feedback on her sleeping routine, getting a better understanding of when/why she doesn’t get enough sleep. It does not receive a 5-star rating because I have been unable to add my Garmin Fenix 5 to the family group. It would be fantastic if our family could see each other’s performances/steps, and thus have a friendly competition, in a family platform, including grandparents who use Fitbit.

Love my Garmin!. Such a great way for my girls to keep track of their exercise(they are extremely active) & to keep track of their chores! I’m just wondering why you didn’t you make it rechargeable!? 😞Such a terrible waste to our environment!! I would not have bought them if I would have known they only lasted about 1 year, but we still love them! And girls bands are kind of boring, my girls did not know which one to choose. We are not Disney fans. We love the app! Overall we give you a 10!😊

Doesn’t work with iPhones. Bought this for my son bc he wanted to track his steps like his mom and dad. What’s not to love, it’s held up nicely for 2 1/2 years. Only one battery replacement. Waterproof and generally great. Except he wants to use the app but the watch won’t sync on an iPhone. I contacted support and they said it’s an apple issue. I should’ve returned the watch right then but figured surely an update would come out to resolve this issue. Whelp no. Almost 3 years and every once in a while I open the app and try to sync. Fails every time. I will not buy it again for this reason. He wants to see his trends and number activities. Disappointing because it would be perfect otherwise.

Needs some fine tuning.. We love the app for the Garmin bounce. The issues that keep it from being a 5 star is we can’t be members of multiple families. We have friends who have Garmin devices and their kids too. We can’t add them to our family or us to theirs without leaving our family group. I wish there was a better way to cross connect families in the app to fully utilize the features for our kids and families to all enjoy our Garmin devices together.

My kids love this watch!!. This watch has been fun to track my child’s activities and chores. They are more aware of getting things done knowing they will earn their coins for allowance. I have also enjoyed the sleep feature and tracking their sleep patterns. Only thing I wish it had was a GPS feature for safety. They would be an added bonus!

Good device terrible app. Just got the vivofit jr 2 for my daughter. She loves it and has responded well to the chore reminders. Our problem is the device works, but we can’t get the “ game” to work. She has earned a move and when we tap the icon it force closes the app. I have uninstalled, powered off my iPad and reinstalled the app several times with the same results. While I love the chores alerts, she is more excited about the game she can’t play. I will be contacting Garmin to return the device. There are plenty out there that have more interactive games for kids. Disappointing since we are a Garmin family and have loved all thier forerunner series devices.
