Keeps crashing. Can’t use app since ios14 update..constantly crashes

App keeps crashing. Hello. Any idea why the app keeps crashing these last two weeks?

Good coverage. The place to get all of the news for Redding.

Not a fan. The old version was so much better!! This one is unorganized, and makes it so hard to find articles

Good App. It's a good app if you live in Redding. Always room for improvements though!

Fails. Crashes or fails to load. I am a subscriber and it won’t let me read certain articles.

Poor app. I used to be able to read a print version of paper on my phone. Now it has changed and I can only read summaries of stories from paper. Once I sign on I cannot read whole paper.

Best info for Shasta County. Love it!

Review. I really like it. Check it out several times a day. Just takes a few minutes each time. Like the listing it by departments. And that it is updated during the day. Good job.

Terrible. Constant issues trying to view. Don’t care for the format at all. Extremely disappointed.

Not compatible with iOS 14. Do not download if you are using iOS 14, as this app is rarely updated and will crash upon use.

Not good. Hate the format - want to see it like I can on our computer which opens up like a newspaper & can go from page tp page. This app doesn’t have the page w/weather, earthquakes, lake levels etc. irate this app as 0 stars

App Constantly Crashes. If you’re looking to move to iOS 14 and have this app work...don’t. Since updating the app crashes every single time. Uninstalled and reinstalled with no change. App needs updating.

Huge step backward. Well, I won't be using this app. Comments are no longer allowed, weather is no longer user friendly. Apparently you have to have a Facebook page to even read comments on your PC now , even if you are a subscriber. If you're interested in local news, get it somewhere else.

Great local newspaper. This is a great local newspaper, I really appreciate the alerts.

Keeps me up to date. I get the Searchlight every day but I really enjoy the new app. It keeps me up-to-date on things that are happening especially with current breaking news on local items. So I enjoyed reading both the newspaper and the app.

Redding Searchlight. Keeps me informed with news on new businesses, the homeless, drug addicts, bums and escalating crime in Redding and immediate area. Sad as the area can be beautiful if not for the above.

Never works. Keeps freezing up. I have to keep signing in and then it says that I need to subscribe. I’m on an auto pay subscription. Getting fed up.

Great app!. Great way to get the news whenever you have a minute

Reasonably timely local news. I'm pretty satisfied with the app as a supplement to the daily R-S edition. My only major complaint is that often when I click on a breaking news alert, it takes me to an article with only 1 or 2 sentences -- not much more useful than the original headline.

If this area was your home this is a good source of information.. I grew up in Northern California. Siskiyou and Shasta counties. Moved away years ago but an article with Shasta Lake or a photo of Mt. Shasta will always get my attention. This app/newspaper helps me feel like less of a stranger. I downgraded the app for 2 reasons. 1) targeting cookies cannot be turned off. 2) I cannot cancel the subscription from the app.

Sell ads!. Sell ads rather than try to force an app purchase by cutting your stories off. Newspaper is already dead, don’t shoot your self in the foot.

Decent small town paper. Adequate coverage but not always thorough or accurate.

Searchlight. Great way to read the paper enjoy reading it long time subscriber when I lived in Shasta lake city Bad point is you won't let us sign up on the app to pay for a membership or sub sub scription for the paper per month instead we have to call your office and you leave us on hold

Much better. This app seems to work much better than the previous version. I can smoothly navigate through the features and absolutely love the night time ability.

Terrible source for facts. This news outlet is overly bias and promotes mis-information that promotes the divide between philosophical beliefs in a community that is built on diversity. Very poor over sight and coverage of important events.

IOS 14 Compatibility Issue. Your app no longer works with IOS 14. I have confirmed this with multiple users. Can it be updated please?

Garbage. Like the product it represents, this app is more garbage from Gannett. Clunky, poorly designed and prone to freeze ups, it is right on par with its namesake third-rate news product. The sign-in process has always been lousy. Now it won’t get past the user name before freezing. Yep, you have to pay outlandish prices to access the news product and then its app won’t let you do that. Typical Gannett/Gatehouse Media.

Very little current news. Same headlines day after day

Most Screwed Up Unstable App Ever. For the last couple of months I have had nothing but trouble with the print edition app. It freezes all the time. I have deleted and reinstalled several times. Are you ever going to make this work correctly? Frank Borden

If I pay monthly for a subscription, I should not have to see additional ads. I did start paying for a subscription. I feel there are to many “on page” ads however. If I am paying monthly to read this, on screen ads should be at a minimum. Also, each article should have an email address of the article’s author. Most readers don’t use Twitter. I also would like to see articles with a more conservative bias. The articles in general need to original, simultaneously not repeating liberal talking points that seam to permeate the mainstream media these days. Other than that, I am enjoying the local paper.

Best local news app. I really like how fast the stories load and the depth of content. The photos and videos look great too. Just wish I could post comments within the app.

Record searchlight. I enjoy the print edition more, but for a quick update this is ok. For two months the print edition did not load all the way and I was unable to read it. Three times I tried to redo the app, waited 12 minutes or more on the phone to talk to someone and eventually gave up. Finally the app is working and I’m able to enjoy it. Also, due to my failing eyesight the audio is a welcome asset. Mrs. Jo Ann Toro

Does not work. Terrible. Three times Ive attempted using the app for a digital subscription over the last few years. Every time my password doesn’t work. I change it. It still doesn’t work. I then have to get Customer Support help. It seems that the security preventing unauthorized use of the Record Searchlight is Extremely successful but customer access is extremely difficult. Apparently I have a unreasonable expectation that my payment should authorize me.
