Sleep++ App Description & Overview

What is sleep++ app? Use your Apple Watch to AUTOMATICALLY track your sleep!

Sleep++ takes advantage of the motion and health monitoring capabilities of your Apple Watch to measure both the duration and quality of your sleep. The better you understand how well you are sleeping the more you are able to make changes in your routines to benefit your rest.

My goal is to provide every Apple Watch owner with a free automatic sleep tracker that is simple and clear to understand. For each night you get a straightforward report of how long you slept and how restful you were during the night.

AUTOMATIC MODE:

Simply wear your Apple Watch overnight and each morning Sleep++ will analyze your sleep and give you a report about how long and restfully you slept.

MANUAL MODE:

If you want to have more precise control over the start/end time of each night recorded you can also use manual sleep tracking. This is also useful if your nightly routine makes it difficult for Sleep++ to determine when you went to bed.

1) Wear your Apple Watch while you sleep.
2) Tell Sleep++ when you start sleeping.
3) Tell Sleep++ when you wake up.

NOTES:

Sleep++ integrates with the Health App providing you a safe and private way to share your activity data with Sleep++. This data is used for automatic sleep tracking. You can also optionally have Sleep++ save your Sleep Analysis into your Health database after each night.

Mediocre at best. I used a different tracker before and it NEVER failed to track my sleep. This app misses the mark at least once a week. Since I’m used to having it tracked automatically, I don’t think to go in and check the app more than once a week and you can only enter a missed night the next morning. It’s very frustrating since I waited to get an AppleWatch until I knew it could track my sleep - I didn’t know it wasn’t able to do so reliably. I haven’t found a better app for my Apple Watch so I suppose I’m stuck with this for now. Please, keep working on the app. If it gets better, I’ll change my rating!

Great Sleep app. I have been using for well over a year and it is very accurate in tracking my sleep patterns. i use both an Apple watch 6 and an apple watch 2 at times spending on which needs a charge and it works equally well with either. I like that I can edit the night on the rare occasions when it credits TV watching time as sleep. Data also feed my Cardiogram app so I have accurate sleep data.

Sleep is very important. The quality of sleep is a huge factor in your health. I spent the majority of my work life working nights. First with my children then to be able to make and attend course work and other appointments. After retiring my body was so used to avoiding a circadian rhythm it was a struggle to adjust back. This app has been so helpful in showing me how to readjust my schedule by becoming aware of my peaks and restlessness. I now am able to cope, I feel better, am overcoming insomnia completely and I am much happier. Eileen P. Landreth

This works. It works for the automatic sleep tracking, however, it will only upload the data if i open the app on my phone and watch. Even then i have to close both and reopen them both a second time before it will sync. The problem with that is i will forget to sync it. Which is an issue because today my watch somehow got locked while i wasnt wearing it and it had me unpair and set up my watch again. It said my data was all saved for my watch from the same day so i was like cool! Lucky. Only to find out it did not save my sleep data that i was going to sync. Now im missing about 2-3 days worth of data. Otherwise I normally dont have any complaints or problems. I usually will adjust the time if it thinks i was asleep or awake at times where i wasnt. Not too bad

So impressed. Just updated to version 3.0 and it went back and used its “Auto” feature....and almost instantly - an analysis of all my night sleeping activity. I’m so happy to have the one feature I missed most when I went to Apple watch from my Fitbit HR. You’ve knocked it out of the park with this one. Worth every cent to finally have reliable, accurate, and consistent tracking of my (mostly lack of) sleep activity!

Automatic sleep tracking puts this app over the top. I have had this app for a while and the only shortcoming was that I would forget to shut it off in the morning and sometimes for days and I would show 100’s of hours of sleep. So based on this it was of little value to me. With automatic sleep/wake detection it will be a great app, my expectations are high and I decided to get the paid version. Great job addressing the issue of having to manually terminate a sleep session.

Awake time inaccurate. This app continuously tells me that I have been awake for less then 5-10 minutes (approx 1%) every night. I know this is untrue. I am a very light sleeper most of the night. I wake up in the middle of the night every night and lay there staring at my clock for sometimes hours, but never less than 30 minutes. For example, it stormed most of the night last night. I was awake for better part of the night, 3-4 hours if I had to guess. The app says I was awake 6 minutes and restless 27 minutes. I actually got out of bed several times to look outside and check the basement for water. I had a Fitbit and considered their sleep app very good. Sadly Apple doesn’t have such a built in sleep tracker so I purchased this one. I am quite disappointed in its performance and sleep tracking ability.

Limited. I’ve tried at least 6 sleep apps and this is the best, but that doesn’t say much. App presents data clearly. But there are limits on data available. Getting up during the night shows as awake but not that you got up, and then shows you awake for much less time than you were. And no way to edit to show that. Going to sleep and getting up time are usually quite wrong. I have problems falling asleep and app shows me asleep before I actually am and same thing in the morning. At least there is the ability to edit. Does not include any data on heart rate during the night. Ability to export to cvs file is good. Any app that works based on your movements is going to have limited accuracy. They provide interesting data but you need to view it as such.

Viable alternative to Fitbit and Whoop. I like having a “daily readiness” score to guide my mountain bike training. It’s made a huge difference in my fitness and overall soreness. I’ve found the Series 7 Watch is far more accurate when it comes to reading HR data than Whoop 4.0 or Fitbit Charge 5. So, I wanted a viable alternative app for my Apple Watch that would give me a daily score along with sleep data for my REM and Deep stages (also something I use). Sleep ++ has been a decent app for a while now, but the latest update finally brings the graphics and UX up to a high level. Great job! 👏 (I almost never write reviews…so, this is high praise… get this app!)

Not very accurate. I wanted to track my sleeping patterns because I occasionally sleepwalk, and I would like a log of these events. I noticed that this app is not accurate. One night recently I got up and was wide awake and moving around the house, and I even got a end sleep notification from this app. After going back to bed and waking for the second time, I went in to see how I slept, and the app logged sleep straight through, with only 9 minutes of awake time. That’s a pretty serious discrepancy, considering I was up and moving around for three hours. There have been several instances of getting out of bed that never log as awake.

Functionality and Usability Waning. This app is slowly losing its functionality. I see from the Apple app store that it hasn't been updated for 11 months. This is becoming a huge concern for me due to the fact that this month is Apple's release of the next iteration of phones and watches, which usually comes with significant updates in the OS. For the last year, the sleeping heart rate trend has been stuck, the "Nights" detail screen doesn't always fit on the iPhone screen. I have reported the sleeping heart rate issue previously and others have reviewed and given info on the screen size in the app reviews. I have received no response from you and the app seems to be sitting dormant. Please do the kindness of a response. If you are no longer updating the app, I would appreciate knowing so I can determine what app I want to use in its place. Since this seems to be your day job and you still advertise this app on your web site, I would think I could expect support or at least a response. Thank you.

Great App! Some “Screen Sizing” Issues Within App (iPhone 13). Hey 👋🏼 Dave! So, one bug I’ve noticed recently is the formatting of data within the viewable space of the iPhone’s screen. It is slightly stretched out, so you can’t see some information, and it almost looks like it’s just a framing issue (almost like an i-frame with some data too big for the space allotted for it) but otherwise, app works 100% as advertised and I’ve never been happier — Apple could take some hints (paid for with royalties to you of course) but man, your App usability and editing capabilities plus the Apple Sleep app would be a combo made in heaven. I wish they would offer you hundreds of millions $$ already and integrate your great functions with Apple Sleep. Seeing what the Watch THINKS it picked up is cute, but sometimes it’s wrong. Edit abilities would be nice. 🥰

Really loved this app until.... You made some kind of change on the update. Now the information about my sleep on Sleep++ is too big for the screen. Completely irritating. You can't toggle over, go back...no you're just stuck with a screen that should show all the information but doesn't. And I have an iPhone 11 Pro, the screen is huge! Still the sleep data overrides the screen size so you can't see it all. Fortunately I have other sleep apps I can rely upon to see my sleep data.

Not accurate. I just received an iWatch for the holidays and wanted to start tracking my sleep. This is the first app I tried due to the positive reviews. I’m not overly impressed with it. I have an infant and am awake and walking around multiple times per night, but this app says I’m sleeping deeply through those periods. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that I have to turn this app on/off manually? But I’m not about to turn it on and off every time I wake in the night. I also know that I’ve had nights of very restless sleep and the app shows unbroken “restful” sleep. Just feel it needs to be more intuitive and accurate.

Not Great!. After paying the fee for no ads. I continue to get them. Have complained several times and all I get is restore the purchase..still doesn’t work. Also it continues to skip nights. It records one night than can skip 2 to 3 nights. I still get the same answer to restore and it makes no difference. My watch is pretty much glued to my wrist and doesn’t move...no reason for the skipping. Company had no answers just BS. I’m sure there are better sleep apps at this point. I’m going to find one. I suggest you all look elsewhere. I was being nice giving 3 stars. That’s just for the nights it did work.

Limitations. I think the limitations lie with the device and not so much the app. I was hoping to see patterns in my sleep and awake cycles. I sleep pretty poorly and can lie awake or partially awake several times throughout the night. As I lie there and try to fall back asleep, the app believes I’m already asleep since I’m not moving. I’ve even read a book and had the app report I’m sleeping. It also doesn’t always see me as awake if I get up to go to the bathroom. It’s not clear if the app takes in the other data like heartbeat, position of the watch, etc.

One of my favorite apps. I absolutely love this app. It is the only app I’ve seen that makes such perfect use of all the datapoints afforded by the Apple Watch. Heart rate, O2 saturation, respiratory rate—it has it all. And on top of that you get really insightful trend charts. Finally, the explanations are EXCELLENT. I’ve never had an app that was so usefully descriptive! I say all this being an app developer of over 10 years myself. Bravo!

It’s ok, but not very accurate. Been wearing the Apple Watch for a couple weeks now, and tracking sleep with sleep++. Recently, I went on a business trip and had some trouble sleeping due to the poor hotel conditions. I’d wake up several time a night, for minutes or more at a time, before I could get back to sleep. After checking the app in the morning, it recorded that I slept all night with minimal “restless” time and nothing recorded suggested multiple times awake. This was clearly not the case as I was flipping like a fish out of water. I was at the hotel for 4 nights, and every night was the same, short bouts of sleep with waking every couple hours. The app just didn’t catch it.

Very impressed. I opened the app and suddenly it showed weeks worth of sleep data from my watch, analyzed. After using it a few weeks, it still seems to work pretty well. Auto sleep/wake detection is ok but I’m sure it will get better. If I manually tell it to sleep I must manually tell it I’m awake or it will just keep going in sleep mode. It’s probably better to just use it in auto mode all the time to avoid that. I haven’t checked to see how accurate the auto sleep detection works but it seems pretty accurate. In auto, when I get out of bed and look at the watch, it shows the night’s summary right away (awake detection works well in auto). Watch displays data nicely the same way as on the phone. Simple and nice! I’m very happy with it.

Doesn’t work. I got this app when I first got my Apple Watch and thought it was pretty cool. But it was inconsistent. Didn’t always record correct information, if at all. So I deleted it and tried some other, similar apps and they didn’t work either. Now, about a year later and several updates and a new iOS, I decided to try it again. Upon downloading, it showed me sleep data from the last couple of weeks when the app wasn’t on my iPhone or Apple Watch. I think this strange...creepy even! It still skips nights completely. I manually started my sleep one night and it gave me 2 data records, 1 manual, 1 automatic and different. Last night I didn’t start it manually and it recorded nothing. What is this app for other than spying in the background and showing ads?

Decent. It does a decent job of tracking sleep, although not super accurate. It will sometimes record me as sleeping before I’m even laying down for the night. Other nights it randomly doesn’t track anything at all. That data may randomly show up a week later. So I think it needs some work in those aspects. I am not sure why some nights it just doesn’t track anything with nothing changes in how I wear my Apple Watch and no settings are adjusted. Most nights it does okay. It’s easy to use on its good days.

Decent app. While this app isn’t perfect it is certainly worth paying the price for. For those who are complaining of inaccurate sleep and wake times, I suggest that you use the manual mode for tracking your sleep. It is much more accurate. If you forget to start it you can edit it when you wake up and your watch tracks you activity wile you sleep so the information between sleep and awake is pretty close. I’m satisfied. The information is only designed to help you not be your doctor.

Developer has seemingly lost interest in fixing bugs. This app is great and presents almost all data needed, except for the Sleeping Heart Rate data on the Trends tab. The Sleeping Heart Rate graph has never updated itself since mid September when watchOS was updated to the version when sleep stages were analyzed. There’s no known way to reset the graph. Tried reinstalling. Even tried permanently deleting heart rate and sleep data from September in the Health app. Despite repeated emails to the developer’s support email and Twitter, and literally waiting many many months, I’ve received no response at all.

Great Concept Poor Execution. I used this app on my Series 2 Watch for the 2nd time & it is not consistently recognizing when I wake up, get out of bed, walk to my bathroom, to the kitchen for water & back to bed, etc. It actually shows that I am restfully asleep during 2 of the 5 events from last night, and shows I'm only restless on 2 other occurrences that I went to the kitchen after using the bathroom. In fact I was still awake for about 2 hours after I hit start sleeping as I watched a movie while in bed & it shows that I was restfully asleep & stayed asleep or over an hour immediately after hitting the start sleeping button. That's not even possible when I was still awake & fidgeting & watching a movie! I can't believe that I can rely on this app to be accurate in its assessment of me having a 15% rate of restlessness. Also I hate that it doesn't automatically track your sleep start & stop times but I guess that isn't possible when it can't seem to do much except track how long you are in bed, when & if I remember to hit the stop/start buttons. Wish this app/watch combo was even slightly as accurate as my old FitBit Charge HR or my even older FitBit Flex! Time to find a better sleep app that takes full advantage of the watch's heart rate tracking and other functionalities or better yet for Apple to add this & the analysis of the data it already collects as part of its health kit.

Great for tracking my sleep. This app does well to detect when I fall asleep at night. I also think it’s great at determining what stage of sleep I’m in throughout the night. My one and only complaint is that when I get up to use the bathroom and go back to sleep, the app doesn’t seem to track the difference. It thinks that I got up at whatever time and does not track me going back to sleep. Other than that I love the app and the details it provides about sleep.

Not sure I get it. I follow your apps since beginning I think also your podcasts etc. and this is the reason you get 5 stars. I don’t get the app actually. Feels like not having any value for my sleep in comparison to other sleeping analysis app I experienced with (such as up24 had etc). On top of that, the app detect me as sleeping even when I’m working on my desk 😀 I wanted to pay for the app just to contribute your efforts and the other great content that you provide but I’ll find another way. I know you read that and hope my feedback would have some kind of value for you (it’s not to make any bad feedback but to show that even though I want an app like that it is completely not what I expect it to serve). Thank you for your great apps and content over those years! 👍

Great App!. I have really come to rely on this app for sleep data. I believe it is very accurate. It generally matches up perfectly with what I remember each night about my sleep. I use it with my Apple watch series 3. I highly recommend this app for anyone trying to get an accurate picture of their sleep habits. It goes a long way in improving health when you can really see what you are sleeping over time compared with your sleep goals. I’m very thankful for this app in helping me work towards my health goals, of which sleep is sooo important!

No adjustment in auto mode. My only complaint is that sometimes my watch goes into locked mode while I sleep despite being on my wrist (I don’t know why this happens as it’s not loose nor has it fallen off) and I can’t adjust my automatic times when this happens and obviously I’m asleep so I can’t unlock the watch. The app seems to know the watch is locked but just can’t give me any data. I’m not even sure if this is a watch issue or an app issue. Otherwise I’ve always liked the app.

Seems Pretty Good. The app is nice and simple, and it seems to be fairly accurate. Obviously it’s not perfect due to limitations of what data is available from the watch, but it’s good enough that I can track when I fell asleep, how quickly I fell asleep, and how long I slept accurately enough to see how more/better sleep impacts my day in other ways, which is really all I wanted. I think a majority of the low-star reviews come from a lack of understanding about what information the app can really check. To be fair, there are some things that feel a bit lacking, like when you view a past night on the iPhone app, it feels like you should be able to slide your finger along the night overview to see what specific time things happened. I’ve been working around that by clicking trim, moving the start/end to the event I want to check, checking the new start/end time, and then moving the trim bar back to the original start/end. Another example is that there’s no way to quickly view the legend from within a night (without backing out and going to settings), but that’s only really useful the first time you use the app. So it’s not perfect (what is), but I’d take the clean interface and lack of general annoyances in this app over anything else alternative apps might offer.

Women: Readiness Score influenced by cycle. This app is helpful but not overly accurate in some respects (sleep vs. wake). However, what I found fascinating is that my monthly cycles are directly influencing my sleep score. The pulse rate in women is several points higher during times of fertility and menstruation. For women looking at their fertility, this might be of interest. And for women of reproductive age, it’d also be helpful to have the app share that these fluctuations are normal. Perhaps this is one of those times when it’s especially relevant to have women involved in development, since I’m pretty sure my sleep isn’t abysmal for 1/3 of the month because my body is going through normal hormonal changes. I’m not sure how relevant the algorithm is as a result.

Stopped tracking my sleep. This app was working pretty well for months. I would have to make manual adjustments to some nights where it either said I was awake during the night when I wasn’t, or that I went to bed earlier than I did, but for the most part it was really solid and I appreciate that I got a lot more info than Apple Health will give me. But it completely stopped tracking about 2-3 weeks ago and nothing I do will fix it. I’ve tried all the suggestions in the app multiple times, tried uninstalling and reinstalling it (losing all my data in the process), nothing works. Oh well. It was nice while it lasted.

I like it!. I seen others make the same comment. The addition of the automatic sleep detection is what brought me back. I tried using this in the past and pounded interesting but a little bit of a novelty because I would forget and not consistently track my sleep. Now I don’t think about it and just go to sleep. The next morning it tells me how well I slept. I like no brainer applications like this. The other thing that helped me was I finally broke down and upgraded from to the new Apple Watch. Considering they won’t give you any return value on first generation watch, I kept it just for my sleep monitoring. I put the soft rubber watchband on the old watch and transferred my stainless band to the new watch. The old watch stays on the charger during the day and at night I swap watches. Perfect setup!

Kind of okay app, dev seems asleep. Have reported issues to developer but never received any acknowledgment/response and issues are still there. You can’t easily/properly adjust your sleep times to reflect when you were in bed/asleep (it blocks a 5 minute window from your alarm time from being used) and the sliders are way too sensitive. This has been true the entire time I’ve used the app for the last 2 years. Now, with ios17, I now get large magenta blocks on the screen (where I should see graphs) when I open the app. Minor annoyance, but there for awhile now and hasn’t been addressed also. Would be great for dev to respond (at least to acknowledge!) to submitted issues…

Not Good - iPhone X with an Apple Watch which I wear each night.. This is my second try with this app. The first time I tried it I was put off by the fact that I had to tell it when I went to sleep. Now that it is “automatic” I wanted to try it again. The first night I used it it seemed that my memory of the night and the apps data did not sync up. The next night I woke up at 3 and stayed awake for over an hour. The app only registered that I was awake for 9 minutes. One would think that if I was using my phone to watch a show and play games that I’m not asleep. I have serious sleep problems and trying to keep up with those issues using this app is suspect at best and totally a waste of time. Don’t use this app. It’s still needs a lot of work.

Works well and simple. Not perfect, but pretty good. I mainly use Sleep++ to monitor my CPAP performance. It is very easy to see the effect of CPAP by looking for the large blue blocks of good sleep. However, Sleep++ sometimes does not automatically detect my sleep, and rather frequently gets my wake-up time wrong. Which is surprising given that I wear my Apple Watch to bed, and taking that off should be a good signal that I am done sleeping. But the issue is easily fixed by adjusting the end time manually, and it is easy to see from the shading what to do. I also use AutoSleep, but honestly it is just too much information for me. I prefer the simplicity of Sleep++, particularly when used with my Apple Watch.

Excellent Sleep Tracker. Excellent sleep tracker at a very affordable price. It gives me a comprehensive look at my sleep and where I can improve... It gets info about my heart rate and everything, which given the recent issues with my heart.... Is super important to me. I enjoy using the Watch app as well. It's really easy to manually OR automatically track sleep/wake periods and what's happening during them. I have cerebral palsy and using some watch apps can be difficult for me to correctly operate them.. Sleep++ is designed in a way that even with my disability, I can reliably operate the watch app (this is super important to me). I find it a valuable asset to my health app(s). I can and have used information recorded in Sleep++ to show my Dr(s) what's happening at night with my sleep and my heart rate during those periods. It has greatly increased my understanding of my health during periods of rest. The edit feature is well done and easy to use and understand how to use. Very intuitive. Paying for it was an easy decision. I feel like the developer(s?) understands that not everyone can afford a huge sum for a sleep app. Thank you Dev(s?). Great job! All around...10 stars!

Needs Some Improvements. I really like this app because it is an automatic sleep tracker for the Apple Watch. Recently I have been wearing my Apple Watch to bed so I can track my sleep automatically. This app is behind at sending me notifications of my sleep summary after I wake up. Also the Apple Watch complication time it displays is 2-3 days behind and when I click on it it doesn’t show my information from my most recent sleep cycle, it shows the data from 2-3 days ago. If those things would be more accurate and up to date then I would continue to keep using the app on my watch.

Indispensable App!. I have been using this app for years. I can say that it is intuitive, useful, and reliable. It is of great assistance to track your sleep seamlessly between the watch and phone. I wore my original first generation watch at nite to track my sleep but have upgraded in the last year, still perfect. This app is indispensable. Thank you for updates, keep up the good work!

Great Sleep Tracker. I love this app because it’s simple and unlike a lot of sleep trackers out there, it’s actually free. It’s pretty good at automatically detecting when you’re asleep as well as when you wake up in the night or keep tossing and turning. You can also adjust you start/end times too if the detection was a bit off. Overall, it’s easy to use and does what I need it to. The only thing I’d like would be a way to track naps as well because it seems to only be able to track sleep per night. Even if nap detection wasn’t automatic, I’d still like to be able to log that along with my data.

Love this app. I’ve downloaded a couple of different sleep tracking apps, and of all of them this one is the most useful. The data is presented in clear, easy to understand, intuitive graphs. You know when you fell asleep, when you slept well, and when you woke up. The other features like blood oxygen and breath rate are easy to read as well. It’s also the most accurate (more so than the built in health app as well, which frequently doesn’t know what to do when I nap). Overall this app is awesome. Highly recommend. All the info you need and none of it you don’t. The best part is that it’s free to use fully in all aspects. You can pay to remove ads to support the developer, but you don’t miss out on any features by not paying and the ads are non intrusive little banners at the bottom.

It was great until they updated it. I have narcolepsy and this app was *fantastic* at tracking my sleep intervals, more so than any other app available; and it was absolutely worth the $2.99 donation they asked for. Then the latest update changed everything. It stopped tracking my awake time, and not only that, it went back and retroactively changed my past entries to show solid nights sleep which really upsets me as I was going to share the data with my new sleep specialist. Last night I woke up, went to the bathroom, gave my dog cough medicine, and had brief a conversation with my husband. I woke up at least 2 other times, briefly. It says I had zero awake minutes, which is not at all accurate. Two other apps that I have downloaded this week to demo did show me to be awake during those times. The developer said it was due to their new algorithm and that they aren’t willing to change it back. Should they decide to roll it back, I’ll update my review and leave it the 5 stars that it did deserve, but unless that happens the app is completely useless.

Insomnia. I feel like this app would be good for a normal sleeper. As a person struggling with insomnia and watching the clock at night, I am seeing the pattern that the app doesn’t recognize my tossing and turning and moving around in bed as “awake”. Even when I get up and move around my house it still logs it as ‘light sleep’. The pattern I’m seeing is that it only logs my time as ‘awake’ if I’m actively using my phone at the time, and I try not to do that for insomnia reasons. I had hopes that this would help me break down my usual times awake and how long it takes me to get back to sleep, but unfortunately it seems to be more limited than expected for my personal condition.

Problem with the readings. I’ve been having this problem for a while now, when I wake up and look at the reading it gives me a red line basically all the way through the night and I know I have not been up all night this has been happening more often I’ve been using the app 9-10 years now with out problems

Not accurate. I tried this out for a few nights. After the first night, I noticed it never registered when I was awake. I know I got up to use the bathroom at least twice and those showed as restless moments. I gave it another try the following night and the same thing. I couldn’t fall back asleep at one point, but again it only showed restless times. I figured I’d give it a few more chances, but then I checked my stats for last night. It registered that I was asleep ALL day yesterday!! From the moment I put my watch on at 7am until I actually woke up this morning at 6:50. And you guessed it, I wasn’t awake for a single second yesterday, but registered as restless. While I was at work, eating meals, doing chores around the house. Yup, I was sleepwalking. 🙄

Automatic Sleep tracking a must have for Apple Watch users. If you have an Apple Watch and wear it to bed to track your sleep you may have been disappointed to discover that it doesn’t do a good job of recording your actual sleep. Sleep++ solves this and does a great job of automatically detecting and recording your sleep and adding the data to the Health database. It also provides great visualizations of your sleep patterns. Excellent app that fills a big hole in the default Apple capabilities.

I think it does what it says it’s going to do.. I’ve been using this app for over a few months now and I have to say that it works better than the other ones. It does what it is supposed to do without the “extra” stuff you would have to buy. It tells me how long I slept, how long out of those hours was my sleep the best or worst. It’s a really good app if you need to track the times you are asleep. I recommend it for anyone honestly.

Inaccurate data read. I switched from Fitbit to Apple Watch 7 8 months ago. First I noticed a different sleep data. I thought maybe it’s just me, but about a month ago sleep++ app started to display really weird results, like I slept during the day, when I was actually driving. Later, if I didn’t check my sleep phases in the morning it shows that I slept for 17 hours or so. I’m not sure if my Apple Watch is loose on my wrist. When I wear it too tight it’s uncomfortable. However results are better. I hope, guys, you will fix it.

Great for the price (free)!. I mean, it's a free app, I don't expect it to be perfect. But I'm trying a different paid app tonight. I woke up last night around 1 am, sat up - took my airpods off - fumbled in the dark to find the case on my nightstand - took my time putting them back in the case - and then checked the time on my watch before trying to get back to sleep. All of that registered as a few minutes of restlessness. Maybe it's hard to discern between awake and restless, I don't know, but if they only time it will register "awake" is if I'm doing jumping jacks or something then this app is not useful to me.

Works great once set up. I had a but of difficulty at first because I was trying to use it in conjunction with the iOS Bedtime function (why isn’t springtide available as a regular alarm sound?). It seems that Bedtime would write to the Health app right away and thus the data from Sleep++ wouldn’t show up. Once I started using a regular alarm it works just as expected. I really like that it can track sleep automatically without me remembering to start the app.

Does it’s own thing.. This app would be great if it didn’t do its own thing. I literally have an alarm on my phone after I wake up to remind me to tell this app I’ve woken up. When I tell this app I’ve woken up before getting out of bed, I turn off the alarm. Somehow, this app still records 200+ hours of sleep (so obviously multiple days) that would be literally impossible unless I were in a coma (I can guarantee I was not in a coma). It has individual days in between when it’s claiming I’ve slept for over 10 days at a time. All it serves to do is totally screw up the information on Apple Health Kit. I used to love this app, but it’s gotten impossible to use. I’m looking for a different app.

Waste of time. Poor product - used it for 3 days nothing exciting , poor graphics

Nothing but the home screen!. The App displays nothing but the home screen with info about what to do to track your sleep. However there's no other options available. It won't connect with my Apple Watch or move from that home screen. It doesn't even come up in recognisable devices in the Apple Watch app. Instructions are needed here as per other reviews about this product not working. Very disappointed. Please advise what to do.

Not comprehensive but it's free. Seep++ didn't write data to my health kit. I'm guessing the light blue lines on the graphic summary of your sleep denotes disturbances or movements. Duration of each movement isn't displayed and the graph isn't easy to read. The app is free so I guess it's a good first sleep app but not as good as others. I'd rather pay a dollar or 2 to get a better app.

Working well! (Except for export to HealthKit). Good results; battery life on the watch is holding up well. The interface is basic but fine! Can't seem to get the analysis data into HealthKit though.

Simple but effective. This app is simple but works. It tells me mostly what I already know, from when I went to sleep to when I woke up. That's obviously because I push the manual button to start and end sleep. I would like to see more detailed information integrated such as heart rate monitor and movement activity. I got up twice during the night and it doesn't make it obviously on the tracker. Good app, but I hav downloaded a few others that appear better and always free.

Absolute waste of money. Can’t track sleep at all, shouldn’t have wasted my money upgrading to the premium/ad free version. Doesn’t track sleep at all. Downloaded another app that works perfectly. Don’t waste your time with this one. I emailed for help and got no reply.

Disappointed. Accidentally forgot to "Stop Sleeping" yesterday, but according to the APP I had nearly 23 hours of restful sleep!. Not accurate at all. Disappointed and deleting this one now!

5 minutes of bed time loll. I can’t change the date of the wake up date. So it looks like I’m only in bed for 5 minutes. For example, I go to bed 10:30 pm on the 5/3 and I want to wake up on the 6/3 at 06:15. The date will stay on the 5/3 and that’s really silly because after midnight, the date changes. Maybe I’m not setting it up correctly.

Disgusting support. Don’t bother emailing support to ask a question about how to stop a recurring notification. You are basically spoken to like an idiot. Rather just remove the app.

Shows restless when I am clearly awake. I am a new mum and up for feeds, I find the app to be inaccurate, when I am clearly awake using my phone in the middle of night it is showing that I am restless ... does not help when trying to keep track of how many hours sleep you have had

Even better in version 2. This was a good sleep tracking app on my Apple Watch. The features and capabilities in this new version mean it's now a great app!

It simply works. This is my first 'complication' which I can show on my watch face where I switch it on (start sleep) and off when I wake up. It took a day for my data to show up in the Health app as a simple time bar. It shows sleep 'disturbance' periods and total disturbance.

Garmin connect. Why will it not connect to Garmin connect or my new Fenix 5x top of the line. As my Apple Watch died after washing hands at a hospital due to higher pressure taps. I was told but Garmin 100mtr and fine very accurate. Movement and pulse readings.

No longer useful 😔. This app was great for MANY years but to my mind Apple’s built in sleep tracking is significantly simpler and more reliable. Perhaps I’m using Sleep++ wrong but I struggle to get the automatic tracking to work (despite having my watch in sleep focus as suggested) and one time I tried to manually track but ended up with a 24 hour sleep log in the health app that I can’t seem to remove.

The Best... but still lacking. I have tried everything out there and this seems to be the most consistently accurate. Graphically is a good night to night comparison of restlessness and periods of being awake. No watch/app is going to capture this perfectly but catches most of it. The iPhone app is lacking though. Graphs, Trends, Averages, Reports, Analysis... all this has to come from syncing with HealthKit and then exporting to an app that gives better analysis and insight. To be the 5 star king of sleep apps it needs to import other HealthKit data and could then perhaps analyse over time e.g you sleep better when you've done an hour exercise OR when you go to bed before 9pm OR when you completed 15 mindful minutes during the day.

Half assed App. Out of the past 4 nights, two have red my sleep accurately and the other two haven’t (all completely rested) I just want the app to work! Can’t understand why it’s doing it one night and not the next 🙄🤷🏼‍♀️

Awesome App & Price. This App is Awesome, Cheap and Simple to used with all applications working perfectly from Apple Watch to iPhone!! Have tried many others that promise you the world and just take yr money! Where this app gets regular updates from inputs from the customers! Don't waste yr money on others as this one is Awesome but if I could add 3 things it would be different Colours for graphs, Heart rate monitor and Finger Print & password log in.

The best sleep tracing app. I tried a bunch of paid apps for automatic sleep tracking and all of them required manual adjustments of sleep time on daily basis. This one does automatic tracking very precisely. I needed to adjust sleep duration only once in last month.

More functions. This is a function I’ve been desperately waiting for! How hard is it to design an alarm that tracks not my sleep but the depth of my sleep and the says ‘ok I’ve registered 6 hours of deep sleep so I can wake you up now’ I’m a shift worker that lives off cat naps but I’ve been unable to find a sleep app that will use the data from my Apple Watch to register the second I fall asleep (based off the depth of my sleep) then wake me up at a designated time after I’ve fallen asleep. It’s impossible for me to set an alarm for 15-30 minute naps because I might actually only ‘sleep’ for 10 minutes in that time.

Worked fine until most recent iOS update. Updated my iPhone's operating system yesterday and now I keep getting "Not Authorised" message when I try to sync my Apple Watch with my iPhone. Worked fine until the update yesterday. I have checked the settings and all are OK. Would also be great if it automatically detected when I sleep and wake like my partner's Activite watch.

Surprisingly accurate, very helpful. I was sceptical about sleep apps but my partner was obsessed with the data from this one so I gave it a go. Six weeks later my scepticism is gone. This is a really helpful and accurate app. I feel like the data makes me more conscious of my sleep time and quality. As a frequent night-waker i can be a bit too blasé about my interrupted nights and this app has started to make me value my ‘good’ nights more. A few suggestions if the developers read this review: - notes! Would be great to be able to store a short note next to a sleep record to help you see if there are patterns helping or hindering your sleep eg - ‘drinking wine late’ or ‘neighbour’s dog barking again’ or ‘tried the sleepy tea’ :-) - the trends section doesn’t cover all the data recorded in the sleep section. Why? - put a feedback link in the app for suggestions like this.

Waste of money. Not being able to sync to the Health app and extract data makes this useless. The Dev has been saying for months that it is going to be fixed but out of hope I tried again last night and no success.. do searches and you will find many people with the same problem. This could be a great app.

Needs refining. I wore a Fitbit and my watch last night. With very young kids sleep has been an issue, so I've been waiting for an app to use on the watch to replace the Fitbit (which tracks sleep very accurately). We had a few disturbances during the night including a 17 min block of being awake in the middle of the night. The Fitbit caught it all, the watch seemed to think I'd had a perfect, restless and awake free night from the moment I told it I was going to sleep to the moment I told it I was getting up. It was basically a stopwatch. Needs a lot more work.

Please fix. It's a great app to use. It would be even better if it didn't crash after using it a couple of times after the new update

Nowhere near as good or accurate as AutoSleep. As above

Great App disappeared from my Apple Watch?. I used this app every day wearing Apple Watch to bed to monitor my sleep patterns but its disappeared from Apple Watch and its disappeared from the complications view? Please bring it back.

Fails to work.. It works for a day then I get message 'Not Authorised' - please ensure that sleep++ has been given permission to access you motion and fitness data. I have check all permission it's all good. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the problem keeps coming back afte day or two. This is horrible experience.

Not accurate?. I’ve tried this for a week and its never picked up that I wake up in the night, and actually get out of bed, regularly. So the interpretation is wrong from Apple Watch or the Apple Watch is wrong.

Doesn’t register restless sleep at all. No matter how many times I reset or update, app does not register restless sleep. All my sleep records are solid blue indicating completely restful sleep which is completely inaccurate.

Brilliant. Sleep++ is exactly the app I have been waiting for on my Apple Watch. It is incredibly simple and easy to use, the instructions are right there on the tin! I am stoked that I can finally track my sleep on my watch. This app works well and I have no complaints at all.

Been waiting since day one. I've been waiting since day one for a sleep tracker on the ᴡᴀᴛᴄʜ, and David Smith has done a commendable job! This was an instant buy.

All works!. I have changed a negative review after my email was replied to and the suggested fix solved everything easily. All is forgiven and it all works! No need to pay for any other app. It shows clearly my deep sleep, lighter sleep, restless sleep and waking moments on Apple Watch and transfers them automatically to my iPhone.

Ok app. App gives an indication of sleep pattern, but is not picking up on times when awake. Some nights I have restless legs so I’m up doing stretches, so clearly awake but this is not being picked up on. Not sure if its an app issue or Apple Watch not detecting. Perhaps would help to have adjustment for time when you know you were awake.

Nice and simple. Works as should for me. Have used it twice and picked up/synced both nights properly. Looking forward to future updates. Thanks

Ot is not working properly. It does not really work as if I go to bed at 10 pm and watch Netflix for 30 minutes it calculates my sleep from 10pm and not when I actually fall asleep. Same if I wake up and stay a bit longer in bed, it will say I was sleeping. Also, it doesn’t show when I wake up in the middle of the night the next morning. Bit useless this way.

Automatic detect very poor. It think I’m getting between 16 and 23 hours of sleep an night. A few times it thought I had slept for 30 hours in a single day. Bad App!

Poor tracker. I wear my watch every night and it does not always record my sleep and reports my watch was not worn. Six nights in a row it has said this. No option to contact help to get help. Very disappointed with this app!

Inaccurate. The app recorded 3-4hrs of me tossing & turning as sleep... I wish!! I get that this is a free app, but if it’s that inaccurate it’s pretty much useless.

Good concept but inaccurate. I like the idea but in my first few nights of using it, it reported me being asleep and resting while I was neither. Makes me doubtful how accurate the rest is. Hope the developer will work on the accuracy!

Simple and works. A simple reliable app that gives you what you need, even readiness scores from trusted developer.

Terrible app. Does not work at all! Before update it kind of worked but didn't upload to Health. I initially downloaded it because I wanted to use my Apple Watch for sleep tracking. It wouldn't allow me to start sleep tracking because it needed to access motion activity which it had been granted. Deleted the app and now using Sleep Cycle which despite not using Apple Watch works flawlessly.

Awesome App. Now this is what I've been waiting for! It really make WATCH a 24 wearable device for me! The working theory is similar to the Jawbone Up band. So now, I can just put my up band away and get same result from my watch via motion detector! It'd be even better if the export issue to Health💟 could be solved! A definitely worthy buying App! 5★ for you!

Works well.. I just ask for one thing: Allow people to edit the sleep data in the app and have those changes reflected in HealthKit. Sometimes I forget to let sleep++ know when I've woken up, and I remember to hit the Stop Sleep button 3 hours after I wake up.

Useless. Has potential, but fails to deliver on that potential. It’s integration with the Apple Watch is sadly lacking. Don’t waste your time.... I won’t be preserving with it and will be deleting this app!

Poor App to track with.. Unable to reach developer to discuss any faults with the app. It was working at 60% then doesn't record any sleep summaries now.

Excellent!. Exactly what I've been waiting for - tips on how to keep the watch charged a bonus. Thanks!

Effective, but simple. This app is very good for what it does, but it doesn't do much. It will track your sleep, and the analysis is fast and broken down nicely. Would be nice if it had a couple of extra bits of information, like aggregate stats, or correlation with other health data, or mood/tags, but even without those it's the app I use every night.

Simple and Effective. The app is simple but effective. I love the watch app. When I stop the sleep cycle, within seconds HealthBook has been updated with sleep data. I was using a FitBit but it required a separate app to get the data into HealthBook. Recommend this app.

Great app but format changed. I’ve been using this app for years and found it to be one of best sleep apps out there. Lately though, when drilling down into the nights data, the format does not fit the screen on my iPhone 12 Pro. It’s to large and cuts off the sides so you can’t see all the data. I’d ask that the developer check this out as I feel I’m not the only one experiencing this issue .

Key design flaw. Relying on a user to start and stop the tracking is unfortunately flawed. My cheap FitBit does a better job by automatically starting/stopping sleep tracking. Apple really should have made a sleep tracker a standard app on the Apple Watch if they want to compete with other fitness trackers. Props to the dev for trying to fill this gap.

Jayalta. Have been using for quite a while and it is excellent. Because the watch is info source it can tell when you’re awake. I use it with another app on my phone that records snoring but doesn’t catch times when I get up or stay awake as well. So they are a great team.

The Best 😴 Ever. Best sleeping app and the best in the app industry imo. Simple and friendly interface. Detailed explanation of each sleep category in the FAQ. You can even export a cvs if you are really into tracking your sleep quality. Thumbs up 👍 David and please keep them apps coming. Great sleeping tracking tool for the Apple Watch. Ohh...did I mention it is absolutely FREE

Does not work at all. Tells me that I had a great sleep but l was awake for hours

Much better than similar apps. It is user friendly, smooth and no issues so far. It is much better than similar but expensive apps. Good job Dave.

Not accurate. It records me going to sleep before I am even in bed and I get up multiple times a night and it says I am only awake for 1 minute. Not accurate at all.

Sleep++. Gr8 app, works well with my iPhone 7plus, w/newest system update. May have had a few glitches along the way, but the programmers are quick to fix and update. I use the auto sleep and it works for me. Cheers!

You will pay twice $2.79 times two. Thanks

Fonctionne très bien. Simple et tout fonctionne parfaitement. Les données son exact !

No more Series 0 support. Well I used to love this app but as of last night it no longer supports my Apple Watch Series 0 running Watch OS 4. Such a disappointment.

New update is terrible. I used this app for a long time..now? Nope! It’s so inaccurate after the update that I don’t trust it anymore

Stopped Working. Was working brilliantly but then completely stopped. My other sleep apps are okay. I followed all the instructions on how to fix, even deleted and reinstalled. Contacted developer, followed their instructions, which are no different than what I tried before and still broken. Tried manual logging which it did but would not do any automatic logging. Someone else on Reddit said it stopped working for them also. What a shame as I liked it. Oh well, have completely deleted it from watch and phone once again.

Wake times. This NEVER shows my awake times! NEVER. I can get up or talk to my husband and it shows I slept straight through the night.

Not accurate at all. I tried 3 sleep apps with my watch. AutoSleep and SleepWatch and this one. The other two showed when I was wide awake for an hour or so. This one could not distinguish from the rest of the night.

Not accurate. I woke up, went to another room and made a phone call last night at 1 am. It still said I was awake 0 minutes. Not sure how that works.

Not very useful or accurate. I used to have a fit bit and have recently switched to an Apple Watch. This app is supposed to work well with my new device. I’m finding that it is highly inaccurate and the charts it presents are not very useful. Unfortunately this app doesn’t do it for me and I won’t be using it any longer.

This app is Amazing. Recently I started using Sleep++ and it’s so accurate works every night I’ve had no software issues no issues in general this app is amazing I recommend you try it

Not awful, but.... I used the automatic mode and woke up a few times in the night and the app did not detect that. Also, in the morning, while I was awake and checking my phone, the app assumed I was still asleep. I’m not sure whether to trust that the rest of the data it recorded is correct, as a result.

Not accurate. This app cannot distinguish between when I’m sleeping and when I’m wide awake staring at the ceiling. Sometimes it doesn’t even recognize when I get up in the middle of the night. Sometimes it will stop tracking my sleep halfway through the night. Sadly, it’s time to find a new app.

Awesome sleep tracker for Apple Watch. I had only been using this app for a few days before the automatic tracking update, and I’m super impressed with the update. It has worked great so far and seems to be very accurate - I can finally track my sleep with the Apple Watch! Thank you!

Didn’t work, useless. I tried this for a week, useless, save your time and move along. The readings are not accurate, says sleep time was 7.5hours, but was up most of the night with sick family members, definitely did not have even 3 hours laying dawn let alone sleep. It just says what you want to hear.

Works great. I've used this app for about half a year now. I track my sleep through my apple watch. I had some similar issues people are commenting on... The issues described by other people that I had were fixed in 3 ways... 1st you may just need to reconnect your watch to your phone; 2nd if your watch has a passcode on it, if you put it on without putting the code in it won't track your sleep that night; and lastly your "sleep device settings" in you health app need to be set for the app to track your sleep Otherwise no complaints after some problem solving

You need an apple watch. You need a Apple Watch

Inconsistent. When it works, the app is great! But it doesn’t always work, so it isn’t that great. Pity.

Doesn’t work. This app doesn’t track sleep at all. I’ve had it for a month and it hasn’t tracked since the first night. I’ve reset and checked my settings multiple times and no sleep logs aside from the first two nights.

Having a pause button. For the nights you can’t sleep you get up and pause the sleep tracker then when you can sleep again turn it on again

Doesn’t work all the time. I work night shift, and this app works sporadicly, and sometimes not at all. This should be fixed, when it works, it works well.

Pretty great. I love the app other than is doesn’t import the In Bed but not sleeping part of its data into Health.

Restore purchase doesn’t work!. Same as above

Basic. Very basic data. Not accurate at all. Even when I get up during the night, it does not sense that I have woken up! Considered going back to my Fitbit to record sleep. Found a different sleep app for Apple Watch. Much more accurate and complete. This app is not worth your time

Not accurate. Says I’m asleep when I’m awake, eating breakfast. Never seems to be even close to getting it right. I’m deleting it.

Automatic tracking doesn’t work properly.. This app when it works is great. It works only maybe 30% of the time correctly. Too bad

Better than other apps but still has issues. At least there is a free version and the ads don't get in the way. But I do manual and automatic tracking because the automatic does a better job of detecting when I wake up in the night but the manual tracks restlessness and start/stop times better. Just annoying to have two nights for each day.

Poor pairing to Apple Watch. Had a hard time setting up the app on my watch to notify the sleep app I was sleeping/ going to bed. Tried many time on my cellar device but still no go.

Nightly trends question. Hi there, I’m loving this app. One thing I am trying to figure out is the nightly trends summary. I have worn this watch for three months and it looks like the app has established a trend for me in my sleeping patterns. I am trying to understand the typical night summary as well as the nightly trends summary specifically regarding the colours as well as the dots vs. Horizontal lines? What exactly is being summarized? It’s not clear, I love interpreting analytic information, so not knowing is driving me crazy! Thanks fir your insight.

My favourite sleep app. This app is very accurate and does a great job of automating tracking sleep. I do t even have to think about it, it just tracks and at the end of the week I can go back and review. More reliable than paid subscriptions and super easy to use. It has fewer features and analytics than some of the fancier tools but overall one of the best tools out there.

Manual input not working. The app registered that I had 18 minutes sleep one night. When I tried to manually enter the hours I was asleep, the sliding bar wouldn’t move past 4am...

Manual Sleep. In the last couple of days, I have not been able to access my Apple Watch sleep app to set my manual sleep. I tap the app on the watch and the app briefly opens and then shuts off. Maybe someone can tell me how to fix it.

Inaccurate. I know for a fact it isn’t accurate because I have woken up in the middle of the night and got up to do something and in the morning it says I was awake 0 minutes

Manual start has a few minor flaws. I recently started using this app. I use the manual start each night and it works great most nights. However, some nights it drops my readings and the next morning I will have a clear field. No readings for the whole night. I wrote to the app developer, with questions about why this happens and is their a fix. I had little hope that someone would reply, and to my surprise I got an email with in-depth response to my concerns and some suggestions to fix this. It was great. One of the suggestions they made was to switch from manual to auto start. I’m doing this now and I am hoping it permanently resolves the issue of not reading some nights.

Useless for shift workers. I work varying shifts and this app is absolutely useless if you work nights. Today’s sleep is registered as 9pm to 5am. I worked from midnight to 8am and I can’t adjust the time to show this. I didn’t even get to bed until after 9am. Horrible! I need a different sleep app.

Great app. I find that this is a great simple app that does what it's supposed to, not always super accurate but definitely works well

Hit and miss. The app is okay but will provide inaccurate readings quite often. I charged my watch at 8:30 and put on my watch 1 1/2 hours later. The app said I went to sleep at 8:30. Other similar instances of recording my wake up time very different i.e. plus or minus 30-40 minutes compared to when I actually wake up/get out of bed. Also doesn’t record naps. It’s free so I guess you get what you pay for!

Love This App. Long time user of this tracker. Excellent interface

Doesnt track my sleep. I downloaded this app a while ago and it used to work perfect. After the last update it suddenly stopped tracking my sleep - at leaat 2-3 times a week. My apple watch is set to automatic tracking so i really dont know what the problem is. I will have to delete the app and rely on other apps in the future

Don’t waste your time. Bought an Apple Watch when I misplaced my fit bit. This app would only track my sleep maybe 1 or 2 nights out of the week. Sometimes it would only track my sleep from 1:30 am to 4 am. Don’t waste your time.

Works inconsistently. This app is great when it works but three times now in the 4 months I have been using it does not record for 3, 4, 5 days in a row and then starts working again. Once it stopped recording only the rem sleep then mysteriously started again one morning. Some bugs need to be corrected as it is a pay for use app

I paid to remove ads, bc I love the app. I have never spent money on a free app (except micro transactions on games lol) but this app is absolutely wonderful. I paid because I wanted to support Dave, the creator. Great work bro. I use your app daily. Thank you.

Bought Apple Watch to use Sleep++. Saw Sleep++ output on friend’s device - so impressed 2 days later I bought gen4 Apple watch to use it. Works best on manual for me. Output will be help for next session with sleep doctor.

Mad broker. It’s really broken. So broken to the point where it has stopped monitoring my sleep entirely. There was another time where out of a 6 hour sleep I had -7 hours of sleep 5 hours of restlessness And 8 hours of being awake... HOW?

Great app. Use this app everyday. Nice features and interface 👍

Where are support for any Apple app I’ve ever had. I’ve sent three emails to this guy telling him about my issues with no reply tried to get my money back no luck reinstall the app kind of works my wife install the app on her phone and she doesn’t even get the icon where she can email the guy for Support hers does no automatic tracking whatsoever do not waste your money on this app I don’t mind a bad app when the person who is supporting me up will reply back and try to help you out worry Reese give your money back if you’re not happy with it againDon’t waste your money

Simple yet effective. Very useful automatic tool for keeping track of sleep. Excellent data presentation; intuitive in its layout and effective in conveying what I really want to know, typical of this indie developer. I wish more apps followed this clear “substance” over flashy “style”/ pointless options. Simple & well thought out. A winner.

Seems to be working great now. The “Trim Night” function wasn’t working and the heart rate variance and resting heart rate data wouldn’t show up. I finally went into settings and clicked the automatic sleep tracking and this fixed everything. The app is now working great.

Fantastic App. I’ve had this app for years and encouraged all my friends with apple watches to download it. The app is fantastic and does a much better job at displaying data and trends than apple’s native health app. I especially love the new sleep score - a lot of garmin/whoop watches have this and the apple watch was missing it. Download the app.

Old school. Is it possible to just have it be the way it was a couple weeks ago. Where when you went to sleep and it would show how long you slept and if you slept as long as you put in, it would show the bar just green. I loved it when I would knew if I slept for eight hours if it was all green. This new version of having it all different colors and graph bar being everywhere is not good. I’d like the old way back please!! I’m a firm believer in if it’s not broken don’t fix it. This app was fine a week or two ago, please fix it back the old way!! Thank you!!

Best Automatic Sleep App. Sleep++ is the best sleep app. The automatic tracking makes it much easier to track your sleep, I would always forget to turn it off the next morning and would need to go back and edit the times, but now it knows when I get up. I’ve found it much more accurate than any others that are supposed to track your sleep automatically.

Well Designed Sleep App. I have sleep issues so I wanted to use my Apple Watch to track sleep and I also wanted something to help me “digest” all the data captured in health. This app is very easy to navigate, with well designed colorful graphs and insights that make reviewing your sleep easy at a glance. Superb !

Simple and works. This produces better, and more informative sleep graphs than apple’s own health app does. I appreciate paying once and not having a subscription fee. I can set this one and forget worrying about it, and look at it knowing that I can trust the results. This is great.

Sleep ++ sleep track better!. I have Enjoyed the app, and it has help me track my sleep better. One thing that would be helpful is if it would remind me to turn it off in the morning so don’t keep running too long. It is a solid way to track you’re sleeping with not a lot of bills and whistles but gets the job done. Recommended!

Okay. I’m not a fan. I have tried it several times, and really just feel like it doesn’t accurately measure my sleep. For example, last night I woke up 6 times from various things (loud neighbors, pets, bathroom breaks, etc) and it said I was only awake once, at 3AM. I just think sleep is something really hard to measure, unfortunately. The app itself is very intuitive and I think it works perfectly, it just doesn’t measure sleep as accurately as I’d like. I think I’m giving up on sleep apps for now. :(

Not Impressed. I'm not impressed by this app. I have been using it for about 4 months now and it gives me false readings. I place my watch on the charger for about 2 hours before going to bed. It will count this time as my start of sleeping. When I wake up, I take the watch off to shower and put it back on before I head out the door, approximately 2 hours later. It also adds this to my sleep time. I always end up with an extra 3-4 hours of sleep when I'm clearly not. I never ever sleep for 12 hours.

Doesn’t track when I’m awake. I’ve been using this app for over a year. It use to work great , but the last couple of months it’s been wrong when tracking when I’m awake - I may be awake moving around an hour or so before it catches that I’m no longer sleeping. It’s been occurring more and more the last few months. It had been fairly accurate before then. Otherwise, I’d been happy with its morning report.

Cute novelty app but not accurate. I was super excited to try this app. But two nights ago when our 2.5 year old woke us up at midnight, at which point we got up, and then kept us awake between 3-5am (awake but in bed) and the app said I was awake for only 5 minutes not only that, but a portion of my best sleep fell in the period I was getting poked in the eye, etc, well... that was the last time I used the app. I’m pretty fit so my resting heart rate is probably low, which is why I’m guessing the results were what they were but still. Come on. Not accurate. At all. 😢

Shift workers. I was hoping the automatic sleep would help shift worker but it does it is just confused. Sometime I sleep days and sometimes night . Even if I push that I am sleeping during the day it is confused. It is confused if I sit on the couch. And watch TV and considered that sleep May propel have to sleep and nap to work at night to work I. Hospitals I recommend telling it when you are going to sleep it is better than apple sleep

Awesome app great developer! But I have a request:. This app is amazing, of course. No, it app is perfect, but the developer has been with this project for years. To Dave: Is there any way that this app could integrate with Fitbit? a Fitbit tracker that generates some sleep stats, but it would be awesome to have it in this app instead. Even if it just pulled data from Health that I synced with some Fitbit sleep stats. I love the long-term calendar view and all that. Even if it was just hours of sleep per night. I have no idea how hard that would be and whether they have a free API or something. I’m not really a programmer, but I’d love it if possible.

Needs work. Often marks me as asleep even when I’m sitting in a chair reading a book before bed. This would only be mildly annoying except that the trend graphs don’t change when I correct the sleep info, so I have lots of bad data in the graph showing what time I go to sleep/wake up. That’s pretty much one of the main purposes of this app, so pretty disappointing overall.

Looks great!. Just updated to version 3.0. It looks great! And if it’s as reliable as the previous versions, I’m sure I’ll be happy with it. I’ve been using Sleep++ for over a year and half and I really like how it easily tracks and records my sleep and displays the info in an easy to read format. I’m excited to try the new automatic tracking feature.

Consistently Improved. I’ve had the app for several years and I’m impressed that it works well with no continuing subscription charges. The last improvement included the more detailed quality of sleep including REM and Deep sleep; added to the day’s readiness score. After seeing what others are charging for less I’m sending in a donation.

There is a lot to like about the app, but.... For the most part, it seems to accurately register the number of hours slept, however, occasionally it does not register a night’s sleep, even though I am wearing my watch and it is fully charged. I think that being able to manually enter time slept should be an option. That is really the only complaint I have, and the only thing that keeps it from being 5 stars.

Poor UI, but works. It works. Definitely detects sleep automatically and can tell when I’ve woken up. It does a poor job of recognizing restless sleep as it claims to be able to do. And the user interface for reviewing the sleep and wakeful moments is not all that friendly. It does send data to the health app, and the user interface is better there. Overall the app is functional, but lacking some features that other apps may have. But it’s free, and works.

3rd review. Faulty numbers. This is my 3rd review hoping developer will correct the issue. When you restart your iPhone the most recent sleep data is changed. Your data may show 80% on sleep but when you restart the phone and go back to the app this number is changed to 30, 45, etc. with no response from developer it makes the app useless. I think I will reply on my other device and only the apple health information each morning.

Sleep monitoring. I like the app very well. It shows a lot of things I do in my sleep, however it does not show all the sleep problems. It will show errors in my sleep pattern and does not hardly ever show when I am awake. Last night I was wide awake sitting for more than an hour and it never showed on my sleep pattern.

Poor user experience.. You have to wait a few or several seconds for the button to respond to your taps. As a programmer myself, this is awful design to not do whatever is needed for the app to be immediate responsive. Apple's apps don't make you wait several seconds and make you have to keep tapping. PLUS it displays times that are meaningless and it's baffling that they would show information that is wrong. Written by programmers who seemingly don't care about the user experience.

Tracks sleep well, app view skewed. This app has always tracked sleep/sleep quality well. But there has been an ongoing issue (iPhone) with the view on the phone -when you click to see the detailed breakdown of the night the way it is displayed it is too large and parts of the data are not viewable because they’re cut off the screen. (I’ve troubleshot making sure my font display settings aren’t causing this.)

incredibly inaccurate. I just upgraded from a microsoft band to an apple watch so I've been attempting to replicate the built in features microsoft offers with apps. I used the manual setting to get a more accurate reading but when I woke up this morning I was told I had only 5 minutes of "awake" time and 37 minutes of "restless sleep." This is definitely inaccurate because I toss and turn for 30+ minutes before I fall asleep, I sat upright several times during the night to drink water, I got up to use the bathroom, and I spent 45 minutes in the morning snoozing my alarm before recording my wake up time.

Simple, and easy. I like the app and it’s ability to track through the watch. I have difficulty achieving good sleep pattern. It would be better with the ability to make notes, in order to track nights I used a medication intended to improve sleep, or which medication was used on a specific night. It would be useful to add a note.

It works… mostly. I’ve had the app for over a year. I go to sleep every night at 9pm and 85% of the time the app shows I got to sleep at exactly 10:37pm. Exactly 10:37p. It does know I don’t have my watch on and doesn’t record anything and it’s usually pretty accurate to the time I wake up. It definitely does not record naps at all regardless of the length. It seems to show good sleep data when it does acknowledge I’m sleeping.

Great UI. Very nice app. I’ve enjoyed this app for a few years. I’ve tried others but I really like the way Sleep++ shows the data. I do enjoy the addition of the sleep readiness score. It’s nice to have a metric for comparison between different nights. Might I suggest the developer add a tip jar to the settings screen. I’d gladly pay for the updated functionality.

Automatic tracking does not work. I’ve tried everything I can to get automatic sleep tracking to work. I wear my Apple Watch to bed every night. I’ve contacted supported. I’ve turned all the settings off and back on. I’ve deleted the app from my phone and watch and reinstalled it. The automatic sleep tracking just does not work. No data ever shows up in the sleep++ app, nor does it show up in the Health app. I’m very bummed as this was one of the main things I wanted to do with my Apple Watch, and apparently it’s working well for others.

Works when it wants to. If you can deal with missing days and large gaps of days, this is the app for you. I engaged with support and after a series of steps of stopping, starting, check this, check that, it worked for two days then stopped again. Repeated the rigmarole and once again got it working. I'm not going to continue with this procedure of tedious steps. Will hope for a future update that will get this working the way it should. I am supporting the developer and have paid to remove ads, I only want a reliably working app.

Great app. I am really enjoying using this app. It really can be an eye opener to how much and the quality of your sleep. It is very accurate and even catches your cat naps and forty -winks during the day. I would recommend this app for anyone concerned about their sleep patterns. I gave it a four star because the date somehow got off at the month change , but the data is still accurate. Thanks for a great sleep tracker app.

Missing feature in update. I’ve use this app for years and I like it. It’s the one I prefer over the others. However the update that just happened took away my ability to take my finger and slide across the graph to see the exact minutes that I was awake and that is one of the major reasons I use this app.

Good App but issue from the latest update. I have been use this app for sleep tracking for a long time. The dots corresponding to sleep time in Nightly Trend became a mess since the latest update. Hope the owner of this app would notice and fix it.

Sleep junkie. I purchased this way back when and since the inception of an Apple Watch, was kinda disappointed about not having the automatic portion to monitor my sleep habits. BUT NOW!! You have rocked this app by updating an automatic feature to monitor the sleeping habits of a workaholic!!! I was ecstatic to see the automatic feature and proudly been using since the discovery!!! Kudos to you for this awesome update!!

Good. Great app for tracking sleep as close to perfect as possible. One issue that has annoyed me since day one is how week days will sometimes duplicate. My week can read Saturday Sunday Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday, but the second Sunday is actually Monday. This happens very frequently in the readiness score section. Once this is fixed this is a 5 star recommendation!

Totally Unreliable. I recommend avoiding this one, it doesn’t work even a little bit. I’ve used it for a few days now and there are times when I KNOW I’m awake, I check the clock, I toss and turn a bit, and sleep++ thinks I was sound asleep. I got curious at one point and started giving my wrist a few hard shakes whenever I woke up, just so it’d know... but no. It thinks I’m a perfectly sound sleeper all through the night, even when I’m up to go to the bathroom. In fact it even thinks I’m asleep when I’m awake using the sleep++ app itself. Do yourself a favor and use something else.

Sketch. I just downloaded the app and synced it to my apple watch. I have never worn my apple watch to bed before, but somehow the app pops up with multiple past nights of sleep data. I don’t know how it could possibly have this data for nights I was not wearing my watch. On top of this one of the nights says I woke up multiple hours after I know I woke up for my class. All of this leads me to be pretty skeptical of the validity of this ‘data’ considering it managed to pull fake data out of nowhere and is presenting it to me like it’s real.

Failed. I have used this app for probably over a year and LOVED it. I have nocturnal seizures and it would track that. For some reason now it won’t read activity on my Apple Watch so it just says I slept perfect all night every night not a wee bit of disturbance which is never true because I go to the bathroom at least once a night. I have tried all the fixes installed and re installed three times and let it run for three days and nothing. Sorry to see such a good app go. Maybe the developers have an idea to help because I love this one!

Apple Watch Sport (Series 0) Support Removed. This app, that I used every day for years to monitor my sleep, deleted the app from my watch automatically when I updated the app on my phone. This is another good reason to turn off automatic app updates. I blame myself for not looking in to it beforehand but I’m upset because I downloaded the Pillow app and it still supports the original Apple Watch. So it can be done. And done well by other devs. So it looks like Pillow is what I’ll be using now. I would have liked to stay loyal to this developer but they made that impossible.

Not the best. I used this app for 2 months before forgetting about it. This app requires you to manually tell it that you are about to sleep and that you are awake. If you forget to do one of the following, your sleep data will be missing or inaccurate for the night. This discourages the user from continually using it. I recommend AutoSleep (especially with an Apple Watch) as it automatically detects when you sleep and wake up and provides FAR more data about your sleep.

No longer want!. I cancelled this over 2 wks ago and this company is constantly everyday still trying to take money off my card! Sad shame first off it’s so hard to find where you cancel this mess it didn’t work after my first week of use it stopped working! So I wasted my money anyways then when I cancel it they still try to get paid! I have a whole 3 week stretch where my sleep wasn’t tracked at all and yes! I had my watch on fully charged do not waste your money it’s just a get paid scam!

Tracks time in bed, not time asleep. This app consistently tells me that nights spent lying awake, still and staring at the ceiling, are spent deeply asleep, with only about 30 minutes of restless sleep. I would think that access to my heart rate would make it more accurate than that. It does figure out pretty reliably when I go to bed, and when I start my day. This seems like a good tracker for people who sleep well and easily, and whose goals are to spend more time doing so. This is not a good tracker for an insomniac or anyone trying to determine what helps them sleep more soundly.

Very bad support. My husband and I both have installed this he had issues and sent three emails to Dave with no response. I installed it on my phone and I don’t even get the option to email Dave even though I paid for the app. Mine will not automatically record my sleep at night. So Dave where are you why are you not replying to our request for help How come on my app where it says get help there is no button for me to push that says email me like there is on my husband’s. Even though you didn’t respond back to any of my husband’s request. Don’t waste your money on this app if this guy won’t get back to anybody

Great but needs improvement. So having the iWatch not have its own sleep tracking is pretty disappointing so I am using this app to track how I sleep. I have a Fitbit and it’s very accurate when it tracks my sleep. This app has the automatic sleep track but it’s not very accurate. I would just be laying down and not sleeping and it thinks I am. I like it so far compare to other sleep apps.

Not accurate anymore. This app has been off the mark for awhile and I was ignoring it thinking it would correct itself. Your q@a indicate my watch is an issue, yet my watch data is fine. The times it indicates that I am sleep is way off the mark. Example today’s reading indicate I went to sleep around 11:30 pm when I went to the adjust sleep app to the correct time 3:00 am. It reads 6:35p-6:35a. This is not the first time but the longer of the mark time. I bought the premium and there is an restore purchase so I did that but it did not fix the problem.

Accurate sleep app. I started using the app 2 weeks back, initially had some issue however customer support on email was super fast. Since then my sleep metrics seem to be fairly accurate. Would appreciate if next updates show weekly, monthly , yearly break downs for all stages of sleep.

Replaced UP Band. I’ve been a long-time user of the Jawbone UP Bands and loved the sleep related features of the Band and software. The addition of the Automatic Sleep measurement of this app helped wean me away from the UP Band. While I liked the “vibrate to wake” feature of the UP Band, I’m just using the alarm on my iPhone and get a similar effect. I’m grateful for this app!

Not very accurate.. I’ve been using the app for over a month and I feel like the only thing accurate is the time I go to sleep. At least I can see approximately how much sleep I got. There’s been too many times it has not registered when I wake up and walk to the bathroom or other places in the house and then come back to bed. Some nights it doesn’t register at all which is confusing to me. Maybe there’s are some bug fixes that need to be done.

Great app. Hands down the best app I’ve used. And at a reasonable price too. I had another app that didn’t work nearly as well as this one does and at a higher price which was then doubled. That’s when I started looking for another and found this one. I’m glad I did. Great features and works great.

Fantastic tracker - with one flaw. The app does an incredible job of automatically knowing when I am asleep and awake. I rarely have to adjust my night with is incredible. The one issue I have with this app is that it tracks naps and counts them as a separate night's sleep. This means that your average hours slept per night is thrown way off. Other than that, I highly recommend this if you have an Apple watch!
