Great concept but app is buggy. Great idea and concept for travelers in Europe. The app itself is extremely buggy and only works about 50% of the time. If/when the app works, it's great. Much cheaper than hiring a personal tour guide.

Works great. Wish I knew this sooner!. Been using it a few times as my parents are visiting me in Thailand and Bali for a few weeks. Great to be able to quickly book a local to help me show them around! App works just fine.

Very disappointed. The app operates great. I didn’t run into any issues, operationally. Unfortunately you aren’t going to get much out of the app. All these 5 star reviews are false, created by programmers, just like a lot of the “locals” available. Specifically the “free” or cheaper priced profiles. I’m traveling to a single area for an entire month, contacted 7+ profiles multiple times, and didn’t get a single response. I’m guessing the cheaper profiles are to get you to buy the app. I can’t confirm they are bots. Probably those who wanted to use the app, but are required to create a profile showing they are “show-a-rounders” in their are. Don’t get to excited. The idea for the app is great, runs well, but I’m traveling alone. My budget is tight and can’t afford $20 to even $60 an hour to be shown around! Purchasing the app is $18 I won’t get back. Unless you have some serious money to burn paying a local to show you around, just talk to your hotel front desk or Airbnb owners. It would just have been nice to at least get a response... 😕

Recommended and Helpful App. Showaround is a great tool that connects locals with travellers. The best traveling experience is to connect with someone who lives in the area. They always know the best places to go, see and eat. Highly recommend this app when you travel. Human connection is so important in life and these connections cross bridges, mountains and oceans, bringing us together and joining us as one.

Don’t waste your time and money. This app is a scam, plain and simple. The profiles for both service providers and reviewers are fake. Do not waste your money on this.

Fraudulent. This app makes it impossible to stop your subscription. Do Not Pay them. I’m still attempting to end my subscription after closing my account several months ago. Hopefully Apple support can get this solved for me

So many glitches. There is a glitch where l get an email about new message and and l can open it up in safari, but message is nowhere to be found in the app. Also, l can’t delete certain messages from certain people.

Excellent!. I have used Showaround two times in Thailand and four times in Hong Kong. I am very happy with the way the app and website work. My overall experience has been excellent!

Great App in Europe. I have only used the app for one tour so far in Budapest Hungary with tour guide Agnes and it was amazing. I had some reservations about the idea of a local showing us around but it was truly a great experience. I’ll definitely have to use this service again. Sure beats the sterile hop/off busses or huge tour groups.

Not working the in box= useless app. As I wrote before it has been an excellent app and I loved it, allowing the visitor to have the assistance of a local in almost every city. It was the best: you create a trip , and the locals offer their services charging an hourly rate. I used the app always as a visitor. I have always made the payments on time and I have got excellent reviews of the guides. Unfortunately , Showaround changed for the worse . The inbox is not working and you cannot receive offers from locals. Showaround pretends to charge the visitors $25 per month. This is US$300 per year, even if you only travel once or twice a year. The app still allows you to create a trip and notifies the locals. However, Showaround blocks the offers and messages that you may receive at your inbox from locals, so the visitor can no longer hire them, and they will no longer have the possibility of work. I insist that it would be more logical and fair to charge a commission per trip. And remember : afterwards you have to pay the local. In case of few annual trips, it is better to hire a professional guide. Showaround, unless it change its policy, is a useless app for the traveler. It's a pity!

Silly. Very silly to charge a fee to search, should be commission based after a deal is reached and taken from the proceeds the guide will make.

A must have apps. Show-around, It's one of the must important application before I travel to any place it's the best way to know the city you visiting from inside out with its own people.

Can’t receive code to verify my phone number. I’m in China using China carrier and can’t receive code to verify my phone number!

Scam. This app is pure scam with fake profiles. All replies are from same person in same tone, doesn't speak local language when I checked. Avoid

Mostly Unavailable. Don't get me wrong, the app works fine, despite a few glitches here and there, however I feel like the cost is high to sign up, and 90% of people were not available, even during my trip in October. However, I did connect with tours on our trip, which were mixed, but cool. So, overall, I would reccomend the app, but don't get overly hopeful about choosing guides/quality.

Very weird.. I don’t know what’s the point if you put a premium to contact with people, I already new at this app and no one can pay for anything before trying it!!! That’s very weird and that’s the meaning of “ the creator is only looking for money not for popularity or to be the best app “ I am sorry but I don’t like this kind of apps and I don’t want to support it at all.

Does not work. A message pops up saying “Update the app.” There is no update. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling it. Same problem. The “Update the app” comes on.

My go-to travel tool. I use Showaround nearly every tine I travel, even if I think I know a city or country. The friends you meet are amazing and there is no way an outsider can find the hidden gems your hosts seem to always know about. Thanks for creating it.

It was difficult to determine if an entry was real or a reflection! Каринка identified the exit of the mirror room! What a relief! Without her determination, I would have predicted an endless loop of false turns. Каринка saved the day! Another joyful experience involved an evening at Stargorod Restaurant. The customers can seize the opportunity to participate in karaoke. Каринка filmed my performance of singing, “I Just Called to Say I Love You.” It is one of my favorite songs. Каринка serves as an outstanding tourist guide and I encourage anyone to pursue her talents.

Avoid avoid avoid. I paid too much for this app, no guides reply and the app crashes, tried in 4 cities. Fail

App has potential, but design is seriously flawed. Pro: Great you can connect with local guides. App has potential Cons: - Expensive subscription - can't categorise or mark favourites - App automatically defaults your profile to be a guide. With no option to change. This was not what I signed up for, and by design it defaults you as listed as a 'free guide', I have not yet received any unsolicited mail, but won't look too kindly if I do. May have to delete account if that happens.

Its full of mystery with untrusted taste. Development team needs to work more on the application, it misses so many tabs needed like adding friends or saving favourites for good tour guides, etc. but the most important thing to me is to show us what is gonna be useful for the users when they pay for a membership “if there is anything else instead of giving reviews”. However, I totally disagree with this idea by paying money before receiving any profits. I would recommend to take a percentage from the money that the local guide will acquire. This will definitely encourage them to do all what they can to be unique persons and to help your site growing up.
